Vietnamese Coffee Latte & Hong Kong Lemon Tea
    Ashley C.

New spot that took over the recently closed Tea 18 in the Elk Grove Donuts shopping center! They're currently in soft opening, and I took advantage of the $1 HK Lemon tea deal with purchase of a food item. The chicken sando was surprisingly good, I had low expectations but the chicken was so juicy and tender! The bread was super soft too, looked like a potato roll, which overall makes the sandwich a bit soft/messy but I'd rather have that than something dry! My HK Lemon tea was on the sweet side at regular level so next time I'd adjust to go lower in sweetness. The Vietnamese coffee latte is strong but balanced out by the milk if you don't want it to be too heavy. My favorite part of the meal was the sweet potato fries - cooked perfectly and they give a generous amount of sauce which I love!! The menu is pretty small so I'm hoping they plan to bring more drinks to the table when they are open longer! The place itself hasn't changed much from what I remember and is a bit dark inside but otherwise a good amount of tables!

Noticed this place today when we went to our favorite donut shop. Didn't realize they have been open since October. Located in the strip mall near Dutch Brothers. I tried a fried chicken wrap with buttermilk ranch. Was pretty good, has coleslaw, pickles & cheese. Chicken was crispy & tasty but a little too garlic for me. Restaurant is small but has plenty of seating. Could use some wall decorations. Service was good. Took the time to explain the menu etc. very friendly. Restroom inside. Hope they stay open. Tried out this place out and for the most part, you would have to be a chicken fan. I thought the fries were the best food item. Second would be the chicken Sando. It's good if you are a fan of dark meat but for some reason it was kinda mushy. The bread/bun was good. The popcorn chicken pieces were kinda too big and the chicken strips were small, so you almost can't tell the difference between the two. I really enjoyed the red guava and lemon tea drink, it was very refreshing. I don't think that's a common drink at other cafe's or boba spots. Overall I did think the food took longer than it needed to, but I can't really complain since it's chicken and that should be cooked thoroughly.

Popcorn chicken, chicken strips, white peach oolong tea, midodo sauce

Ordered through DoorDash. Seems they had just opened based on other reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try. Things I ordered: - Popcorn chicken: 4.5/5 not the typical Taiwanese popcorn chicken but still good. Seemed to be more like chicken bites or chicken nuggets than popcorn chicken though because of the size. Chicken thigh was juicy, didn't have any of the unwanted excess chicken fat or gristle that I've had with some chicken. Batter was crispy and seasoned well. Only one bad thing was that parts of the batter were falling off when trying to grab the chicken or dipping the chicken in sauce, which made it slightly difficult to eat. - Chicken strips 3/5 Might be just personal taste but I much preferred the chicken thighs. Batter seasoning was the same, chicken was expectedly less juicy since it was white meat. These chicken strips were difficult to "pull apart" without the batter completely falling apart. - Midodo sauce (regular and spicy) 5/5 Kind of reminds me of raising canes sauce. I preferred the regular over the spicy. The spicy does have a nice kick to it though. Both sauces complimented the chicken really well. - White peach oolong tea 4/5 Ordered with less ice and 30% sweetness. It was ok, but with it being listed under "fruit tea" I was expecting some something with real fruit bits or syrup added in. Instead, it seemed more like a brewed oolong tea that just had a subtle peach fragrance rather than an actual fruit flavor. If this is only brewed, one suggestion for the future when/if the menu is expanded, is to list this under "fresh brewed tea".

01.28.2026 - MIDODO - ELK GROVE, CA - So my boyfriend says there's a Boba place nearby and I couldn't find it but later I found this place. I've decided to try it out. It's a nice cute place when you first walk in nice and clean beautiful minimal style tables café. Cute art wall pictures. The counter person was very helpful. I asked him what was the best sauce for the popcorn chicken and he suggested his favorite was the spicy which I assume is the Sriracha flavor. It only took about three minutes for my drink to be ready and my popcorn chicken was ready in 4 to 5 minutes as for the popcorn chicken it came out very hot so be careful. I can taste the ginger marinade in the chicken which was a plus cause I love flavor. There wasn't an overwhelming flavor of Five Spice. Which is fine as im getting to know their flavors in this establishment . The Hong Kong milk tea drink tasted like coffee with a lot of chocolate flavoring and they were not stingy with the Boba toppings pretty pretty generous with the toppings overall, I enjoyed my visit. I ate there for about three minutes, but I wanted to go home And relax.... it so it was delicious. I'm gonna go back and try their other drinks and maybe other food and you know what's interesting. They have SANDO Japanese sandwiches so I'll try that next time.

Great place for a light snack. Went here and got the sweet potato fries and popcorn chicken with the ranch and Spicy Midodo Sauce. Would recommend to those who want to try out a local business here in EG! The only thing I would say is that the wait is a little bit long, but the wait is worth it as the fries and chicken were both very good.

Chicken strips and Chicken (dark meat) sandwich

Sooo juicy and made really fresh. The skin had a nice crisp and the portion size of the chicken strips and sandwich was a huge for a great price, the sauce was great with it too.

Once, had their mango drink and it was very good, the chicken wrap and strips were also very seasoned and crunchy.

    Tender Sando

Best spicy chicken sandwich in Elk Grove. Very crispy and perfectly seasoned. Very welcoming setting and quick service. Will definitely be returning.

But when I got there the gentleman who was working the to go pick asked me to please give him a minute but it turned into several minutes, but he was trying to pack more orders and probably assumed my food hadn't been made yet. So I had to wait 5 minutes before I asked the cashier if he could help me grab my food. I already saw it on the shelf waiting. The food was good, for those who have not been here before , this was my first time too. A slider isn't really small like most ppl would assume, it's a full sized chicken Sando. So a #2 meal with maybe another side is more than enough to fill up 2 ppl. If you like spicy chicken Sando this is a great spot to eat. Price is fair for a spot that specializes in the spicy chicken Sando compared to other fast food chains that serve a bunch of other items and happen to have spicy chicken sandwiches. My only gripe was waiting to get my food from the counter when it was ready the whole time.

I was excited to see that Nash and Tenders expanded their locations to Elk Grove, but the quality was abysmal in comparison. Service was also ok. Not very friendly. Food took quite a while to come out -- the longest I've ever waited. I thought it would be a quick meal and we would get out of there quickly but was proven wrong. The seasoning on the chicken was minimal and not spread out evenly, even though I had gotten the hottest flavor (Call the Firefighters). It was not very hot. The chicken was also dry and the breading didn't feel the same either. The bread didn't taste very fresh either. The seasoning on the fries were also not spread out evenly. It was only on the top layer and the bottom half of the fries were unseasoned. The lemonade was not sour and tasted watered down. Really disappointing because I love Nash + Tender's lemonade. It always paired well with the food, but not this time. There was not really a good ambiance as well. The mood of the store was depressing. Lighting was bad and the place felt a little run down. I came here at night, for reference. Also, I had to wait five minutes in the front to request a togo container before someone came by even though two employees (chef and other worker) were directly across the way and saw me waiting. They were chatting away and didn't even bother to say they would be right there. The chef I understand not coming to help, but the other girl was just chatting with the chef, playing around with plastic bags and not even really doing anything. I had to wait for another worker to finish cleaning up in the back to come help me and give me a togo container. It seemed like that employee was the only one really doing anything around the restaurant. They definitely run a tighter management in Lodi and Stockton. The vibe was just completely different here. I quite honestly regretted getting my entire meal and hated my experience. I would not come back to this location. It does not compare to the original two locations at all.

If I come in the evenings the trash smell upon walking in is often over powering. I think it may be due to the trash compacting garbage cans. Maybe they're not changed often enough. Like sticky, food everywhere, not sure when they were mopped last, dirty. The customer service aspect of CFA at this location seems to be pretty much non existent (there are a few employee exceptions to this). I ordered a Mac and cheese on the app around 9pm-ish. The employee came over and said they were out of Mac and cheese. Then we just kind of awkwardly looked at each other because I was not offered any resolution, and I don't know what my options are. At that point I just wanted my money back because I had already paid in the app. But she said "I can offer you a medium fry instead". I just said sure. Hoping that one day this CFA returns to the caliber that it was years ago.

I have lately been coming back to this location for good food and out of morbid curiosity. Most…read moreplaces (owners) do not like the online ordering as the deals are crazy. This place embraces it as they have their own versions every day. Online has a version of a build your own bucket, that is akin to very old-school fast-food day prices. Which is a good meal, worth one to two meals or more, that costs about the cost of half of minimum wage. 20 bucks, 8 pieces of chicken, 4 biscuits, and 4 individual sides. A regular person value of three separate meals for 20 buck's dudes. Or what I call, a one day I am not cooking today thing. That being said the food is good. The chicken is spot on now and the biscuits are really good. Now if you want good fries or wedges, I suggest you order through the app or online as they can make your wedges as close as possible out of the frier. I know this because they put your wedges, fries, in a separate unsealed bag so the steam doesn't wreck your potatoes. This here, tells me they got primo homies working here now. Again... biscuit homies oh my. Each style the way this place does it is gold. These sorts of places only work when you got good employees. That being said, some of the possibly newer employees remembered me. Not really expected from a fast-food place, but it does give you that homie vibe. I think some of them know I am abusing the individual sides. If you know... you know... Or they just hook them up if you get wedges. Woops... With that being said, I get fast food, well as a fast-food option. Meaning I can eat it when it gets room temperature, eat the fridged leftovers, eat it right from the fridge. This can be only done with good food. Meaning no jacked up old oils, over cooked, left out for ages, getting served leftovers, or someone not caring how something is made and doing it their own style. Which usually is TERRIBLE. However, whoever made those biscuits deviated from the norm and was superb. A shot out to whoever was making my fried wedges and or fries. Those were always above the norm good. This place you can eat food at the aforementioned deviant behavior lazy. Meaning left on counter for 6 hours, right from fridge cold as a leftover, eating sat out wedges, biscuits and still reminding you that the food tastes good in all the worst conditions possible. Whoever got the employees to start caring, thank you man. Thank you whoever made my food and repeatedly keeps making it this way as I have come multiple days when different employees were on shift.
