Came here for burgers. Got two hamburgers and one order of fries to share. Burger was okay, was a good sized pattie, but didn't even have a couple of pickle slices included. The condiment inclusion was a little skimpy. They cook to order, so I can imagine the long wait if you came while it was busy. There isn't enough in the restaurant to distract you while waiting, so the wait is tedious unless you bring something to read. I noticed they have all-day breakfasts available. In fact, it was the whole left side of the overhead menu. If you don't mind a plain burger, this place is "okay,". Nothing I would go out of my way to eat at again.

I have passed by this Nation's fast food many visit to Starbucks but finally decided to take advantage of their promotions and give them a try. Their food are made to order so you have to be patient. My Patty Melt was exactly have I expected it to be... very greasy and it needs some pickles to balance up the flavors and my wife had the Wild Salmon burger and we both think it's too fishy . The wheat bread and the sandwiches falls apart so I presumes they don't specializes in burger as most other patrons order from the all-day breakfast menu and I do see they have lots of pies. Overall, food not what I expected and will probably not try again.

This was our first time visiting Nations Giant Burger for brunch, and it definitely won't be our last! Courtney was amazing--she assisted us at the counter taking our order and also cooked the food. That kind of multitasking and dedication really stood out. We ordered the grilled chicken with onion rings and the breakfast sandwich with ham. Oh my goodness--everything came out piping hot and full of flavor! You can tell the food was made fresh and with care. Great service, great food, and a great first impression. Thank you, Courtney, for making our visit such a positive experience!

I got to try nations via door dash. First off, the burger and sliders were yummy. I was glad that I could customize it with the various toppings they offer. I thought the patty was juicy, even for getting it thru door dash. The French fries were just average, nothing to set it apart from other places. Now the chocolate crème pie was delicious. I love that they have different pies and sizes to choose from. It makes it fun to try a new one every time.

Chili dog was good. Service was friendly and accommodating. Clean dining for family with kids! A must to try pies!

Food:***** Service:***** Ambiance: ***** FIRST TIME to this location. Just opened maybe 4-5 months ago. Drove by several times n parking lot was full. Finally came after lunch rush. Tables were available. I wanted to dine in. Place is clean. Restrooms are also clean. Condiment area is clean but scarce in hot sauce. I don't take the bottle I just pour enough for me to use. Service was great. Brianne was so helpful with the discounts n joining the club for rewards. The crew is on top of taking orders and cooking asap. The food was legit! Memories of the Bay Area (Fremont) younger days came back. Moved to EG and so happy Nations is so close to me now. My favorite burger place. I love the simplicity of the original burger. Bun is lightly grilled/toasted so still soft to bite into, nice fresh onions, lettuce and slice tomatoes. So hot and fresh off the grill. It is my perfect burger. Forgot photo of my burger becuz I inhaled it. My hubby had a 3 egg breakfast and love it. Hasbrowns were the best, not over fried. I can eat a burger from this location every day. We will be coming back again. My husband loves this place like I do.

Haven't been to Nations Giant for a very long time maybe a four or five years. Just got one in Elk Grove about 5 months ago, so wanted to check them out as I was craving a burger. Wondering if they are still good as they used to be. I ordered the cheese burger with everything. It actually taste just like a n in and out burger. It was good as u ate it all. My fries were cold as they didn't last hot very long once in got my food home food to go. My bf got a chilli hot dog he said bit was fabulous. See the picture. We also ordered a half a blueberry cheesecake pie. It was good, not too sweet. I always know Nations for their pie. I like that you can buy pie by the slice, the half pie or whole. Overall good experience. Quick order in and out.

This location is in the new plaza next to Starbucks and across the freeway from Winco. Space is smaller than other Nations I been too - maybe about 20 chairs but they do have outdoor seating which Im sure will be used come spring/summer days. Great experience from today's experience. Young gentleman, Juan was super pleasant and welcoming. He made recommendations and was just overall nice. Had the melt which was YUMMY!!! Will definitely be coming back.

I was driving through Elk Grove and had a hankering for a delicious breakfast. Good thing Nations is just off the 99. After going over the breakfast menu, I decided on the two egger breakfast, which includes two eggs, two well buttered pieces of toast, hash browns, and your choice of meat ( I went with a hamburger patty). I will fight someone if they tell me there is a better fast food breakfast than the one you can get at nations. Everything is made to order, the quality is great, the portions are huge, and your order is ready stat! All of this for less than a combo meal at almost any fast food restaurant. Also if the massive portions and delicious food wasnt enough, they have some of the best pies that money can buy! Next time you are driving through Elk Grove, do yourself a favor and stop by Nations!

Service : 4/5 good, however no one shared the seasonal options like pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin shake etc. The menu rotates so I didn't find out about it until I placed my order and had to do a second order. Ambiance: 4/5 Quaint but clean, happy the location is nearby. Food: 4/5 The sweet potato pie crust had an oniony taste but other than that my cheeseburger was delicious!

I've had Nations before in the Bay as well as Vacaville, but ever since the Natomas and now Elk Grove location opened not so much. This location is right next to the drive-thru Starbucks sharing the parking lot with the Shell Gas Station and Take 5 Oil change place off of Sheldon Rd x Hwy 99. Party of 2 dine-in (walk-in) and I also placed a large to-go order (3 cheeseburgers with grilled onions, 2 burgers with no onions, and 3 orders of fries). Not sure if they rang it up as 3 of the burger-and-fry combos or as just a la carte. The bacon cheeseburger and the BBQ/onion ring burger looked good too, and I saw they also have sliders. The "giant" burgers each came in their own box, and the fries were all separated in their own bag. Overall they were good, but for the price of $7-$9 per burger and then the fries, I'm not sure I'll be back soon. Was good to give them another try. Might come back for strawberry pies in the summer.

Ordered online for pickup and my order wasn't ready yet. Sat down and waited and they had some pie samples to try as well that day. I tried the pecan one and it was tasty. The burgers were really good. I got a lettuce wrapped one and it held up well. They give a lot of pickles and they were cut lengthwise so it was a pickle lovers dream. Overall pretty good for burgers but definitely on the pricier side.

The service here was great. It was clean, there was an upbeat playlist, and everything was fully stocked. The food just wasn't super flavorful. Our fries were hot and fresh and not a bunch of tiny pieces, but it didn't seem like the burgers were seasoned at all. I really wanted it to taste better based on all the other factors. We did get a slice of pie that was delicious so I have high hopes for the breakfast menu. We'd definitely give it a second chance, just weren't really impressed by the burgers.

I was put off by the blue cheese mash beneath it a bit but it's ok because the short rib was so delicious. For dessert I had the berry crumb cobbler. The cobbler came with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was great! The berries were sweet and the crumb top was so buttery. Everything flowed deliciously. My husband had the filet mignon.. he said it was made medium rare just as he asked. And of course the crème brûlée is the reason why he keeps coming back lol My go to for fine dining in Elk Grove! Top-Notch Food & Service!…read more What an amazing way to end our night! After spending 8 hours on the Harley in 100-degree weather, we were hot, tired, and ready for a good meal--and this place absolutely delivered! I wish I had gotten our waitress's name because she was incredible. She was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I had the braised beef over mashed potatoes, and it was absolutely delicious. I had to order a side of green beans because they're my favorite, and they did not disappoint! My meal also came with a side salad, and the house dressing was fantastic. We ordered dessert to go, and even though we haven't dug into it yet, it looks AMAZING! From the incredible service and delicious food to the welcoming atmosphere, everything was top-notch. Thank you for taking such great care of us and making us feel so welcome. It was the perfect ending to a very long, very HOT day on the bike! We will definitely be back!

This is a fair review…read more Mimi's is definitely a cozy spot with excellent staff, but quality can be hit or miss. I've been dining at Mimi's Cafe for many years, and while it still holds a lot of cozy charm, it's definitely a mixed bag now vs. 15-20 yrs ago. It was 5 stars back then. The Positives... *Friendly Staff: The service here is consistently warm, welcoming, and accommodating. *Cozy Ambience: The restaurant provides a great, comfortable atmosphere that is particularly relaxing and ideal for older adults. Tbh I have an old soul with some social anxiety. So Mimi's became an instant fav in my 20s for the ambience alone. *Great Brunch Selections: The menu offers a fantastic variety that is perfect for breakfast or brunch. It's truly all about the brunch at Mimi's! I don't think they could ever mess up a pancake, waffle, or French toast. *The muffins: Their muffins are unbeatable! So delicious and fresh. The Downsides... *Bland Flavors: Certain classic menu items have become a bit bland and lack the rich, robust taste they had 15 to 20 years ago. *High Price Point: For the quality you receive, the prices feels a bit too high. Plus they have done away with the free bread and carrot cake baskets. Although I believe they may still give you free bread, but you'll have to ask. *Timing Affects Quality: The timing of your order matters immensely. If you order a breakfast item during evening hours, parts of it might arrive tasting old, hard, and reheated. Recommendation:It remains a wonderful place for breakfast and brunch.

Oh my, the French toast is a huge portion and beautifully presented with a side of whipped cream and strawberry compote on top. It's not as sweet as it looks (perfect for my taste) and the toast had crispy edges. Sausage was good but needed to be cooked just a bit longer, so you get that snap when you bite it. Scrambled eggs were good too. My husband got the chorizo burrito with tater tots on the side. He liked the burrito but said it did have little kick to it. The tots were fried to perfection and not oily. My brother ordered the "Dad's Mash Up," all kinds of stuff (breakfast meats and cheese) served on top of tots and covered in gravy. It was a pile of food, no complaints from my bro. Service was great and welcoming as soon as we walked in. No wait on a Wednesday morning, but I imagine there is on the weekends. I let our server know it was my brother's birthday, and after we were finishing up our meals, they brought him a complimentary small plate of the strawberry French toast! That was a fantastic way to end his celebratory breakfast. My only complaint, which is more of a suggestion, is to have flavored cream available besides half and half. The coffee is strong and delicious and our cups were never empty. Thank you, Jamie and staff, for a wonderful and yummy first visit. We'll be back!

Wait Time: 15 minutes (Sunday brunch)…read more Parking: Free with plenty of spaces in the shopping complex. Restroom: Bright and clean. Ambience: The space feels somewhat unfinished. Much of the interior consists of plain, single-color walls without much décor, giving it a blank and somewhat incomplete feel. Service: Friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. * At check-in, the host added my name (Lin) to the waitlist and said I would receive a text when my table was ready. However, the notification arrived under a different name (Nancy), so I had to double-check whether the table was actually for us. * Our server was pleasant, but service felt scattered. She stopped by to check on us, but before we could respond, she walked over to another table and continued a conversation there. When she returned, she said she would bring water, even though we were already ready to order. It took a while for the water to arrive. * Later, we requested a water refill, which she acknowledged, but it appeared to be forgotten. The refill only came when we were getting ready to leave, at which point she apologized. Although it was a Sunday brunch service, the restaurant did not seem busy enough to fully explain the level of disorganization. Food: Breakfast is available all day. I recommend the Eggs Benedict (weekends only), which comes in several varieties: A. Bacon, spinach, and tomato Benedict B. Traditional ham Benedict C. Cali Benedict with avocado, tomatoes, and arugula D. Smoked Salmon Benedict The Club Sandwich also comes with a generous portion size. A nice convenience is that the restaurant allows split bills, and guests can pay individually through the Toast app.

It's a great deal and made it easy to justify trying one of their signature comfort-food plates. Here's what I got: 4pc Broaster Chicken The Broaster chicken dinner was the standout and easily my favorite part of the dinner. The four-piece meal is regularly priced at $19.99 and comes with a choice of side, plus garlic toast or cornbread, along with a salad. The chicken arrived golden, crispy, and exactly how broasted chicken should be--moist inside with a crunchy exterior that tasted fresh, not greasy. I chose the mashed potatoes as my side and they were creamy with chunks of potato whipped within. They were topped with country gravy, turning these spuds into full-on comfort food. The cornbread was a large, satisfying portion; the whipped butter and honey on top rounded it out nicely and made it feel like a classic diner treat. Vegetable and Salad The vegetable side was the one miss on the plate. The zucchini, broccoli, squash and carrots seemed to be steamed and were noticeably overcooked and sitting in water, which made them soggy. The side salad, on the other hand, was solid. I opted for blue cheese dressing, which tasted like it was made in-house and added a lot of flavor. There were a few pieces of lettuce with brown edges that I just removed, but overall the salad was fresh enough and a nice way to start the meal. Service was friendly from the moment we walked in. We were greeted right away, offered a choice of a booth or table, and seated quickly, even though it was senior night and the discount window can draw a crowd. The interior looks and feels like a classic diner: red accents, country-style decor on the walls, a TV with the news playing, and a front counter where you pay as you leave. Near the entrance there's a pie case showing off their desserts--in particular, an apple pie that looked very tempting and is on my list to try next time. Overall, Original Mike's Diner delivers satisfying diner food, warm service, and a straightforward, old-school atmosphere, with the Broaster chicken and sides carrying the experience. The overcooked veggies keep it from being a perfect visit, but the generous senior discount and friendly staff make this an easy 4-star spot I'm happy to return to--especially on Thursday nights.
