Came here for burgers. Got two hamburgers and one order of fries to share. Burger was okay, was a good sized pattie, but didn't even have a couple of pickle slices included. The condiment inclusion was a little skimpy. They cook to order, so I can imagine the long wait if you came while it was busy. There isn't enough in the restaurant to distract you while waiting, so the wait is tedious unless you bring something to read. I noticed they have all-day breakfasts available. I have passed by this Nation's fast food many visit to Starbucks but finally decided to take advantage of their promotions and give them a try. Their food are made to order so you have to be patient. My Patty Melt was exactly have I expected it to be... very greasy and it needs some pickles to balance up the flavors and my wife had the Wild Salmon burger and we both think it's too fishy . The wheat bread and the sandwiches falls apart so I presumes they don't specializes in burger as most other patrons order from the all-day breakfast menu and I do see they have lots of pies. I got to try nations via door dash. First off, the burger and sliders were yummy. I was glad that I could customize it with the various toppings they offer. I thought the patty was juicy, even for getting it thru door dash. The French fries were just average, nothing to set it apart from other places. Now the chocolate crème pie was delicious. Haven't been to Nations Giant for a very long time maybe a four or five years. Just got one in Elk Grove about 5 months ago, so wanted to check them out as I was craving a burger. Wondering if they are still good as they used to be. I ordered the cheese burger with everything. It actually taste just like a n in and out burger. It was good as u ate it all. My fries were cold as they didn't last hot very long once in got my food home food to go. My bf got a chilli hot dog he said bit was fabulous. See the picture. This location is in the new plaza next to Starbucks and across the freeway from Winco. Space is smaller than other Nations I been too - maybe about 20 chairs but they do have outdoor seating which Im sure will be used come spring/summer days. Great experience from today's experience. I was driving through Elk Grove and had a hankering for a delicious breakfast. Good thing Nations is just off the 99. After going over the breakfast menu, I decided on the two egger breakfast, which includes two eggs, two well buttered pieces of toast, hash browns, and your choice of meat ( I went with a hamburger patty). I will fight someone if they tell me there is a better fast food breakfast than the one you can get at nations. Everything is made to order, the quality is great, the portions are huge, and your order is ready stat! All of this for less than a combo meal at almost any fast food restaurant. Also if the massive portions and delicious food wasnt enough, they have some of the best pies that money can buy! I've had Nations before in the Bay as well as Vacaville, but ever since the Natomas and now Elk Grove location opened not so much. This location is right next to the drive-thru Starbucks sharing the parking lot with the Shell Gas Station and Take 5 Oil change place off of Sheldon Rd x Hwy 99. Party of 2 dine-in (walk-in) and I also placed a large to-go order (3 cheeseburgers with grilled onions, 2 burgers with no onions, and 3 orders of fries). Not sure if they rang it up as 3 of the burger-and-fry combos or as just a la carte. The bacon cheeseburger and the BBQ/onion ring burger looked good too, and I saw they also have sliders. The "giant" burgers each came in their own box, and the fries were all separated in their own bag. Overall they were good, but for the price of $7-$9 per burger and then the fries, I'm not sure I'll be back soon. Was good to give them another try. Might come back for strawberry pies in the summer. read more

Nation's first franchise..I am SO excited! As a native of the Bay Area, I am so thrilled that there is now a third Nation's location in the region. My mom just had to have some lemon creme pie so off to Nation's we went. I was surprised albeit pleasantly, at the new menu variety. I didn't want a burger (well I did lol but they are huge), and was ecstatic to see sliders on the menu. What?!? They were the perfect size and I wasn't overly full. The location is conveniently located off of Highway 99 and Sheldon in a small strip mall. This review is only for the pies as I was told they had lots of options and we were looking for a dessert place in Elk Grove. There was quite a selection and you can choose a whole pie or a slice. Slices are $6.95 for a large piece...enough to split between two people as it looks like one slice is a quarter of the whole pie. I tried the custard and chocolate cream pie and both were good. We've been to Nation's a few times now at different locations. The Bay Area, Stockton, and most recently their newer Elk Grove spot. It's very much reminiscent of a classic diner vibe, which is always comforting. Service has been quick and attentive every time we've visited, and the food consistently comes out hot and fresh. My kids especially love their breakfast options, which makes it an easy family friendly choice. We've also tried their burgers, chili cheese fries, shakes, and pies. All solid and satisfying. Nothing over the top amazing, but it's dependable diner food and a nice additional food option to have in the area when you want something casual with variety. Been to Nations in SF but this is a new location in Sac/Elk Grove. And I haven't been to one in awhile. Unfortunately I wasnt all that impressed. Its a small location next to a Starbucks. Felt like a little diner. There's only counter service. So you put in your order and come back and pickup your food when ready. I had a BLT and it was pretty basic nothing special. I ordered a small sweet potato pie to go. It was okay until I got to the crust. It tasted like it wasnt baked all the way. Was a bit mushy so I couldn't finish it. This is the first Nation's location in the Elk Grove area. Opened in early September 2025. Heard so much about this place. Family had to check them out. This review is based on two visits. Located in it a newly built restaurant and parking lot near the SE corner of Highway 99 and Sheldon Rd and behind the Shell gas station. Located next to Starbucks. Restaurant has small indoor dining area and a few tables right outside of their front door. Staff are nice and helpful. On our first visit, we ordered 2 burgers and an order of sliders for dinner. The sliders are disappointing. The slider hamburger patties were super small and thin. The patties didn't even cover the slider bread. The other burgers had meat patties that were also very thin and over-cooked. Hamburgers were super dry and tasteless. We felt the prices for these burgers were overpriced. Also, tried a slice of pie for dessert. Heard how good their pies were and had to try it. Ordered a slice of their banana cream pie. Pie was disappointing too. We felt the filling was mainly vanilla pudding. Pie filling was thinly filled. The pie crust was much higher than the level of the filling. Pie crust tasted like the frozen pie crust sold in the freezer section in markets. The price charged for a slice of pie here is not worth what one receives. Quality and taste of pie here is a 2/5 star. Then we can on a Sunday morning to try their breakfast offerings. A breakfast platter is quite pricey! Portions are plenty. The quality and taste is the problem. The pancakes are dry, stiff, dense and are not very flavorful. Nothing wrong with the bacon or sausages. Breakfast potatoes are standard but needs some flavor. I really like Nation's Giant chains as they have good quality food that's normally prepared very well. I was visiting the store with my son at 8848 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624. It had recently opened and I found it to be very clean with nice decor. It was in excellent shape as it was fairly new. The young lady behind the counter was extremely polite and helpful. She knew the menu very well and had a great attitude. I tried their Giant Burger, which was cooked to perfection. The lettuce and tomato was fresh and the burger was made the way I wanted. The bread was not a brioche bun, but a traditional fresh hamburger one. I am not a big fan of hamburgers but this one was fantastic! My son and I shared eggs, sausage, pancakes and french toast. Everything was great. The soda machine had great tasting beverages (good mixing of soda and syrup). I finished the meal with a slice of apple pie-big slices of apple with a wonderful taste. Nations is known for their pies and the selection is not disappointing. The pricing is a bit higher than in the past but the rewards app can save you money. I love how the cook answered my question about what ingredients were in the harvester burger. My cashier entered the wrong amount tendered when she took my order. I'm glad she used the other register to give me back my exact change. There was no available seat inside so I sat outside. The table had a spill on it so I just sat on the side which was cleaner. I also got a slice of the blueberry topping cheesecake and for me, it was way too sweet and the cheesecake itself was mushy. They use a chili that tastes similar to Stag chili so I was really happy since Stag is my favorite store bought. The cheese burger I got was well cooked, well seasoned and made good. It wasn't sloppy or falling apart. I liked it a lot, but for me, the chipotle sliders were my favorite. It was savory and juicy. However, they were small and a bit pricey for the two of them. Since this was a new restaurant for me, I ordered the chicken sandwich with a few modifications--specifically no Miracle Whip. Unfortunately, they didn't follow that request, which was frustrating. I also added cheese, and the extra charge of $1.75 felt excessive for such a small addition. That was definitely disappointing. The fries are usually something I look forward to, which is why I chose to dine in instead of taking my food to go. I wanted to enjoy them fresh, but they were hard and cold--far from the quality I expected, especially when eating at the restaurant. That said, there were some positives. The restaurant itself was very inviting, the soda fountain was clean, and the condiment station was fully stocked. The tables were also clean, and the staff was warm and welcoming. Pros: Fresh ingredients, more selection than typical burger places (I had the fresh salmon sandwich), slice of berry pie was good sized with great crust and taste. Cons: Cheeseburger costs $2 more than a hamburger ($2 for a slice of cheese?!), both my sandwich and my wife's burger lacked flavor, onion rings were underwhelming. Expensive overall. A worker said, ur order is expensive, so u should charge it to the meal which would be cheaper. The pies are slowly decorated with nice toppings. We were excited when Nations opened in Elk Grove and decided to stop by for breakfast today which was a Sunday. We entered the restaurant and stood at the counter for a few minutes without anyone greeting us or even acknowledging that we were there. There was a woman cooking and it seemed like she was the only one there. After about 5 minutes of standing at the counter, she turned around and said in an irritated tone, I will be with you in a minute. After a few more minutes she was finally ready to take our order. Never a smile or a welcoming feeling from her. We finally ordered and when we tried to sit down all the tables were dirty with food and dishes. There were only 2 tables with people eating and all the remaining tables were dirty. My husband and I decided to clear the dishes off of the table so that we could sit down and asked the woman in the front for a rag to wipe our table down. The woman yelled to someone in the back to bring a rag out. A girl from the back came out with a rag that looked like it had food all over it and dripping with dirty water. It actually looked like they just cleaned the floor with the same rag. The girl took a quick swipe of our table and left not only food on our table but nasty dripping water and she walked away. I decided to go to my car for paper towels and sanitizer and came back in and cleaned our table. The other tables were never cleaned. We were so disgusted not only by the dirty conditions but by how unfriendly everyone was. We will never return to Nations in Elk Grove. read more

Nations is convenient for us and times when we are in a crunch or just really exhausted from our work week. My husband gets the barbecue burger, which he likes very much. He just wishes they would add more barbecue sauce but then again you can just put some on the side in a container because they have a self serve section. I get the regular cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato onions I just add mayo and ketchup. I have no complaints on the times that I've gone and my daughter just gets a meat patty because she doesn't care for anything else I would say the price is a reasonable for what you're getting. The service is always good. Sometimes I think people forget that there's only so much service members can do. I can only work as fast as I can and sometimes when I come in, I noticed people are antsy. I think that things are just gonna magically happen. I hate to say it, but sometimes you just have to wait.
