My wife and a couple friends went to the Native on E. Broadway Rd in Tempe last night to continue my birthday celebration. We were greeted by the manager Maria who told us to wait as she walked to the kitchen area and started casually talking to someone. As we were still waiting to simply be seated, she proceeded to go and table touch with other patrons as if we were invisible. After that, Maria walked towards us but walked PAST us and started to speak Spanish to the guests that was standing BEHIND us. We waited so long that another host/waitress asked if we were ok. After FINALLY being seated we noticed that Maria went to EVERY SINGLE TABLE in our section but ours. She table touched the family to the left of us, the group in front of us and the two that was across the room. She continuously checked on them to make sure they were comfortable and didn't need anything. Why didn't we get the same treatment? The hispanic family that was seated after us got their entrees before we even got our appetizer. That was confusing but Maria made that happen because she brought them their meals. I would hate to think that race and/or our sexual orientation played a part in this behavior - as she's a minority as well - but her lack of professionalism was unacceptable. We frequent this establishment often because the food is amazing and above average. However, we will not tolerate being treated with such disregard. (Cont.) The day after posting this review I got a phone call from the business manger (Tyrell I believe) whose hierarchy is above Marias. He asked if I wanted to add to my review to which I told him no. I said exactly what happened. He seemed to call with a preconceived notion that Maria (although she could've been a bit more professional - his words) didn't do anything wrong. He did not call me to resolve anything, instead, he called to plead her case and continuously make excuses for her and for how we were treated. There were four (4) people at my table who all felt the same and we all work in the customer service/tipping industry so we're very aware of what subpar customer service looks like. Telling me how many years he's known Maria, and telling me she's never done anything like this before had no influence on how I felt as a customer that particular night. This phone call was absolutely pointless as he offered us to come back and sit and talk if we wished. Honestly, what would be the point?! Needless to say, we won't return and have decided to take our hard earned money elsewhere. read more

I have to give it up to the general manager at this location, Tyrell. My husband and I ordered on National Wing day and our wings were not to our satisfaction. Tyrell saw our disappointment and went above and beyond to reach out and remake the order to make it right. Not only was he the coolest, and a funny guy but he was literally on the frontline answering calls, taking orders and dropping wings. Just a hard worker all around and so were the staff, so it was no surprise that our remade order was to perfection! Thank you for the great experience and hospitality. We ordered a margarita pizza & the garlic parm wings from this Native using the Yelp app. The stars reflect the food, not the Yelp delivery experience... which was atrocious. The food was good & I imagine would have been better had we gone to the actual restaurant (lesson learned). Their garlic parm wings are among my faves; they have just the right amount of crispy to seasoning ratio. The specialty pizzas can be a bit pricy. TBH, I did expect a larger pizza for the price charged & this is the biggest factor in dropping a star for me. The restaurant is recommended but the food delivery via Yelp is not. read more

I live 2 minutes walk from this place. I went one night for a quick dinner. The fries pictured were surprisingly not that bad. However, I've had a couple different burgers from here and it was safe to say as soon as I left this last time that I would certainly not come back. They are so rude on the phone every time I inform them that my order is wrong and they tell me that it was my mistake and That I ordered wrong. Obviously I know what I ordered so it's common sense that it is their mistake on how they place the order on their system. Will not be ordering from this location again it is so unprofessional how the staff blames everything on the customers and their own manager, it is not the managers fault that they put the order wrong. WE GOT NO FLATS ! Also, we ordered an appetizer, wings, and a side salad. Never got the salad which is perfectly fine because they brought everything out all at once ? What's the point of an appetizer if it comes out with the food. The wings were basic, they were room temp tbh, like they were sitting there for a while. We got the asiago parmesan wings and they tasted like plain wings. Our server only checked on us twice. Oh and the best part, we had a whole spectacle of a girl crying and cussing up a storm while there was child on the table next to them. So disappointed and very annoyed. This is our favorite Native!, but we don't live nearby any more so we go to the one on I-17 & Peoria. The seating area at the Broadway Native has ambiance, lots of booths, and plenty of TVs around so you can see all the televised sports. I used to be a regular here, pre-pandemic. Food was always fresh and super yummy. Within the past 2 years, I have visited many times, and to me, the food has gone downhill. Something happened to the food, not to mention menu downsizing, and I just don't desire to eat lunch or dinner here anymore. Food quality seems to have been lowered. I can understand reducing portions, but not quality or change recipes. A lot of the time lately, both my appetizers and chicken are either over cooked, lukewarm or both. I do still very much enjoy the desserts. But I will no longer dine here for entrees. read more

Our table ordered some wings and appetizers. While we waited for our food, the party next to us was very intoxicated and were cursing up a storm while there were children around. Everyone was staring at them...We were expecting to get our appetizers first but they brought us all the food out at once.... Again, I really love Natives wings. I came here three other times since my last review not checking in every single time. It's been a couple weeks and the customer service, I personally feel, has REALLY changed. Last time, we were checked in on multiple times and tonight the host and our server who was training someone was really hitting the points high on customer service and interaction. Sometimes it's more than just a nice and friendly attitude but being able to connect with the guests past just asking what I would like to eat and drink are awesome! Great job! We ordered a takeout order of 40 wings and fries through postmates. We were given one bag at the time of pickup. When we opened up the bag at our party, we discovered that there were only 20 wings. We called Native to have the rest of our ordered delivered and they would not arrange that for us, even though it was their fault. We also now have to go through Postmates ourselves for the refund. Ok so we have always been a fan of this place but we have finally had it and just are not willing to give them another chance. 4 times now they messed up our order. Whether we order and stay or get the food to go it seems impossible for them to get it right. The Tempe location is completely unorganized and nobody seems to understand good customer service. This last time they forgot to place our order and when they did there was no sense of urgency and it was still wrong. Wing places should do something to make them standout; this place does not. I love ordered the 10 pack; had 5 with chipotle lime dry rub and 5 with chipotle hot sauce. There was only one wing with sauce on it; they didn't even bother to coat all the wings. So basically I had fried chicken wings with some residual flavoring. The server had to be asked to bring additional beer and refill our water. I'm not a fan or BWWs but is go there everyday of the week and twice on Sunday over this place. And their prices are not bad.Great staff and a fun place to watch sports here as well or hah here socially on the weekends!not very crowded and the way they ask right away if you'd like where you'd prefer to sit is very welcoming.They are quick with service & there was lots of staff available during the time I stopped by which was afternoon time. I enjoyed the fact that you could sit at the bar, a booth or table. They also have a very spacious outdoor patio which has lots of seating and another bar. There are plenty of tv's to watch sports on and see the news also. They play lots of upbeat music and they have nice clean bathrooms. I typically always come here for my first stop on a wing hunt. I Used to Loved to come to this place, we normally come about once a week. About 2 months ago we were at the patio and the bartender was extremely rude To us, there for we complain to the manager and they apologized and we all understood the problem... we kept going about once a week, never had an issue with any other employee of this place. Today we go back and tried to used the patio. And the same rude bartender denied service to us, stating WE were rude to her!!!! Beside she denying service to us, she said it in from of a bar full of people. Making us feel militating, why?... because we complain about her service, we could off talk to the manager at this point again, but figure if by now she is still working in this place, this is a behavior, native grill & grill approve. I'll make sure I never take my business to a native(r) again and I'll for sure will let anyone I know about this experience. Native New Yorker has great prices for wings. There are a lot of choices too. The place is packed with college students since it's so close to ASU. The waitress was nice and there are so many TVs! However, I did not like the wings. The wings are fried so they are very greasy. If you are suffering from obesity, high cholestrol, or heart problems, don't come here. Pretty Average. I came here for the first time for lunch. It looked like your average American restaurant similar to BJs/Applebees/etc. I was surprised to see that they had lunch specials: $7 for a burger and fries and ~$10 for a dozen wings. Not a bad deal, too bad the food was just okay. The burger was small and average. The fries needed more seasoning. One person could finish the entire meal and still be hungry. I ordered 6 BBQ and 6 Honey Hot. The wings were so small and had such little meat, but maybe I'm just used to my plump hormone injected wings. The taste was alright, nothing exciting. Though I will recommend the Honey Hot - sweet with a very VERY mild kick. Kudos to our server (I didn't catch his name :( ) but he was AMAZING! I had such a great experience at Native, it was a little surprising. I went here with a couple of friends to watch a World Cup semifinal match and we received excellent customer service on top of a great lunchtime deal. First about the deal - when you buy a drink, wings were only 35 cents from opening to close. My total lunch bill was like $8 and I was STUFFED. How can they afford to sell at prices so low?! Now about the service - our waitress Rachel was the best waitress ever. She checked in frequently, made sure we were able to take advantage of ever deal available, anticipated when we would be needing a refill, and made sure we wanted for nothing. It was amazing customer service. I wish I could give her 5 stars! In summary: great food, deal, and staff. What's not to love? read more
