We ate lunch here a few weeks ago. I like to have wings a few times a year and wanted to give them a try. I think this is the best sports bar by Sahuarita. Our waitress was very friendly and the establishment was clean. I had the chicken and waffles dry rub and a raspberry flavored sauce for the wings. I enjoyed both flavors. I also enjoyed the zucchini sticks for the appetizer. My son enjoyed his flatbread and my wife enjoyed her salad. Nothing fancy or pretentious here folks, just some good comfort food you may enjoy while watching sports or spending some time with friends. I will be back. read more

It was just ok all around. We visited last night as a group of five after catching a movie nearby, and were seated right away. Service was slow and had a couple of issues with our orders being incorrect, which were ultimately fixed but without offering anything for the inconvenience. The food is very much average- wings received good reviews but the chicken wrap, sliders, and pizza fell flat. The native at Rita Ranch in Tucson is terrible! The slowest, to no service at all. If you sit in the bar area you aren't even waited on. You have to interject to get service. 10 minute wait to get a menu, 15 minute wait to order, food is average, ask for check, 15 minute wait, give card to pay, 15 minute wait to get it back. The service was awful the moment we walked in. We ask the hostess if we could get a table and she said "yes one second" and proceeds to do nothing. We approach her and she looks at us like we're stupid. She said "actually this entire section is closed" ... in my mind I'm like aren't you supposed to seat us???? Really enjoyed the Buffalo ranch dry rub wings but didn't really care for the sweet red chile wings which were overly sauced. The lettuce wraps were okay but not remarkable. I know that most of my reviews on Yelp are negative, and this one will be no different. I AM HERE TO WARN YOU!!! This location blows ass. The food was terrible, the service was god awful, and the manager no help. Second game of the World Series was in the 3rd inning when we arrived, not super busy (we were seated immediately) but they tried to shove 5 of us into a booth made for 4. STRIKE 1! ( I suggested that we push two four tops together and they agreed, so off we went to the bottom of the third inning. Our waiter wearing a Dodgers jersey was a bit of a smart when we pointed out that we were fans of neither team, but we were joking with him at that point so it was OK. He takes our drink order and disappears. Dodgers homer to Right field and now they are up 4-1 and we are still thirsty. STRIKE 2! Fourth inning rolls around and by the time the Dodgers are at bat, we finally have our drinks, but one of them is clearly wrong. FOUL BALL?!? Maybe. The waiter reluctantly gets a new drink and takes our order. Wings, boneless wings, a burger, a chicken sandwich, and a meatball sub. 5 people, 5 items ordered, BTW there are now two outs in the bottom of the 4th inning. (We have been here a while at this point!) 5th inning, no change in score, also no appearance by our waiter to refill drinks and no food. 6th inning rolls around and we still haven't seen the Dodger jersey wearing waiter until the Aaron Judge strikes out to end the top half of the inning. He comes to the table to tell us there is ZERO ground beef in the building and the two people who have ordered ground beef items are shit out of luck, and need to pick put something else to eat. (Does he bring menus? He does not!). 30 minutes have passed since we ordered and JUST NOW THEY COME TELL US THIS? Are you shittin' me? If Jomboy media could do a lip reading session of our table, he would see that the F-bomb is freely flowing now. We should have called the game right there and left, but one persons food showed up right as the waiter came back to retake the orders of the two people that were screwed by the Native Ground Beef Shortage of October 2024. So one person has hot food, two people are still waiting, one person decides on pulled pork sliders and the meatball guy decides to sit this one out. Native Grill has officially lost a customer. STRIKE THREE! YOU'RE OUT. (We should have left right then.) 7th inning no food, nothing happens in the game either. 8th inning, no food, no drink refills and nothing happens in the game either. 9th inning and our food shows up, and here is were the whole thing goes from bad to worse! The Yankees load the bases with runners and the Dodgers look angry, just like whoever prepared our meal. My wings were so greasy that caused the dry rub to be so heavily caked on, that they were inedible. The pulled pork was crispy and hard like it also had been in a deep fryer. Everyone who ordered tatter tots might as well have ordered hash browns at Waffle House because they were just a lump of slightly warm potato shavings, none of which were in tot form. Yankees are threatening just as the manager comes over to ask "How is your experience?" I explained to him that when I am in town, I like to visit my parents and have Native out of nostalgia, but that this visit in particular was the worst visit I have ever had to ANY Native location. He assures me that he will make it right on the bill and he hopes that I will give them another chance in the future. The Yankees end up sucking it up (not surprising) and the baseball game is finally over, when I am actively looking to get the bill and leave. Our waiter has now decided that we are more unimportant than having ground beef so he ignores us completely. I finally get the managers attention and he says he will get the bill. 20 minutes later he comes to the table and hands me a check and states "I took 20% off". 20% off? Two of the four meals were totally inedible, the service was nonexistent, and you think 20% off is going to get me to give you another chance? FUCK NO!!! I paid the check and went to Texas Roadhouse, so the three people who were unable to eat at Native Grill, could get actual food. We will never be back. NEVER. Screw this location, screw the waiter, screw the manager, screw the prep cook for not thawing ground beef, and screw the owners for allowing this location to fall apart. Close the doors so that another restaurant can take over the space, perhaps one that cares about their customer. read more

Okay, I went back. I had decided I would start my lunch by giving Native 5 stars and see how it went from there. Friend and I walked in. We waited 10 minutes for someone to greet us as the sign said to wait to be seated. One server walked by us twice and didn't look at us. Finally a server said that she would be with us shortly. Another 5 minutes - so they're down to 4 stars. We were finally seated. It appeared that perhaps they were short on help so I thought I'd ease up on them a bit. After another 10 minutes our orders were taken. After 40 minutes our food arrived - so they're down to 3 stars. Both friend and I ordered salads. Both salads appeared to have little to no dressing. We couldn't ask for more dressing because no one checked on us to see if our food was acceptable. I had to snag someone walking by to get more drinks - so down to 2 stars. We found our dressing - it was pooled in the bottom of the bowl. My salmon was almost not there - 4 little pieces on top. At no time did a server stop by until I saw our server and motioned her over for a to-go box and our bill. Then the server didn't come back to collect my credit card so after 15 minutes we went to the register and then the server showed up there and we paid our bill - down to 1 star. The tables that were dirty/filled with used dishes when we arrived were still that way when we left. I've worked in restaurants before. I know it's tough when there isn't enough help but come on, this was ridiculous. Shut off a section of the restaurant; let people waiting know that you'll get to them; stop by and say the kitchen is behind/food will be out shortly; stop for a second as you walk by a table and look to see if drinks need refilling. Food: Chicken Wings & Generic Bar Food. Chicken Wings not chicken nuggets or strips carry a good size and heft. These succulent finger foods are bigger than some corporate drumsticks. The three flavors I tried the last run was honey bbq, lemon pepper & mango habanero. Mango Haba. The wings start off wonderfully w/ the brevity of sweet mango undertones then as you start to lick the sauce off your fingers, the habanero comes fast... Real Fast~! The mango haba has an exquisite combo of sweet and spicy. If you like spicy wings to compliment the other flavors then I would recommend eating this last & definitely not with lemon pepper. Lemon Pepper. Heavy seasoning which is rare. The leftover lemon juice worked nice with the fries to clean up. I ate lemon pepper on my left hand and the mango haba on my right hand & do not recommend this as the lemon amplifies the habaneros. If you have chapped lips which are common w/ long distance traveling/driving then your lips will burn lol. Honey BBQ. Standard super sweet bbq sauce. Heavy on the ketchup in the bbq mix nonetheless a good compliment to the mango. Burger Slider. Puny, bite sized yummyness w/ a couple pickles in them. The slider is simple w/ patty & cheese & pickles. The bread was terrible but overall the slider was above average. Chicken strip slider. Absolutely gross. This has to do w/ the nasty, stale bread & pound of mayo all over. I just took the chicken out, wiped off the mayo w/ a napkin and dipped it in the mango haba sauce. Ate at Native at Spectrum two days ago. Prices were good due to specials menu. Service was good. The burger and fries were good up until I pulled a long hair out of my mouth while chewing on the burger. I could have flossed with it! I didn't tell my colleagues or the server so as to not create more drama and all of us were on a time crunch for an event elsewhere at 6 p.m. Restaurants, you have to enforce hats and/or hairnets in your kitchens from your cooks and prep staff; anyone in the kitchen actually. Many places don't use them anymore. God knows what we eat sometimes but it's pretty traumatic to be chomping on someone else's hair. I had to pull it out with both hands. It looked like a magician's trick. The Pima County Health Department needs to make more unannounced visits in all kinds of establishments just to keep people on their toes and our community healthy. read more

Do they make mistakes?..absolutely but you try to serve during a million cowboys fans who are losing...their minds and the game! It is not so loud you can still talk to friends and family. I was trying to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday. Everything was fine. The issues didn't arise until we got food. There were two waitresses assigned to our section I guess. So somewhere there was an error. Another waitress brought us food and we assumed maybe our waitress was taking a break. So we consumed the food that was delivered to us. Then our waitress came back and gave us more food. The food we originally ordered. It wasn't until we got the bill and we noticed we were charged for food we didn't even order. We tell the waitress and she's agreed to take the extra food off of our bill. We then heard an argument like the manager was passing blame to the waitress. The manager then proceeds to come out and yell at us. Not calmly explain anything. Just put the blame on the customer. She said it was common sense to pay for food we didn't even order. She also kept stating we lack common sense and used "Jesus Christ". Asked her politely to not say that (against my religion and offended me) she kept using profanities and wouldn't remove the extra food. We were forced to pay for the food we didn't order and told to leave. As we were leaving the manager began to yell at the waitress to paint she was crying. We went in for a quick dinner on Monday 08/14/23 and were disturbed when all we could hear over even the loud music were profanities being exchanged by staff members yelling at the top of their lungs, with one even proceeding to scream "fuck you, I quit" and walking out shamelessly while us and several other customers waited to be served. It was so outlandish, uncomfortable, and unprofessional to the point where we and several other patrons decided to leave. Here's a update... this is a 1 Star. Five of us went for dinner this past Friday night. 3 of us ordered a meal with avocado. Please take a look at the pictures attached. They actually served us black chunky moldy avocado!! For someone to see this and put it on food to serve should be fired. The manager was upset when we told her we couldn't eat it and showed it to her. She did end up taking the plates back and we didn't eat dinner. I won't go back.
