Here's a update... this is a 1 Star. Five of us went for dinner this past Friday night. 3 of us ordered a meal with avocado. Please take a look at the pictures attached. They actually served us black chunky moldy avocado!! For someone to see this and put it on food to serve should be fired. The manager was upset when we told her we couldn't eat it and showed it to her. She did end up taking the plates back and we didn't eat dinner. I won't go back. The filth has now moved into the kitchen and onto the food. Natives is a decent family friendly pub like place. They have a great pizza, wings & salad special for very cheap. The service is pretty fast. They need to clean more. There was 8 dirty tables the whole time we were there and the staff was to busy hanging around talking. The bathroom was filthy. Native Grill & Wings was a bit of a disappointment. The food was ok, and the atmosphere was a bit sterile. With a name like "Native Grill" I was expecting something a bit more authentic to the southwest - that is not this place. The wait staff was friendly - the food was ok - it is a restaurant that could be anywhere in the US. A little southwest décor would really help. read more

Usually we visit the Native in Marana, but we were down in town running errands and had a craving for some wings. They have an awesome deal this June and July of 40 cent wing Tuesdays. The bar was crowded for the afternoon, and the one worker tending the bar area did a great job taking care of everyone. We got the chicken and waffles and new Mango flavor. I've had great luck at Native, whether with the wings, pizza, the fries, the nachos or the salad. But how could a brand new place get so many negative reviews so fast?! Reading the other reviews here, it looks like service is the issue of most concern. But I figured that, despite the negative reviews, I would give this place a try. I'm so glad we did. I didn't experience the poor service that others have described, and the meal was exceptional. Before I get into all that, a few things: This is a sports bar. To its core. You have three distinct seating areas. There's the main dining room with booths and tables. There's the bar area with high tables. And there's the outdoor patio that has tables and cushy-looking sofas. It looks to be two TVs on the patio and numerous television sets throughout the interior. We sat in the dining room. It has a strange feeling that is eerily reminiscent of a cafeteria. But it was comfortable. The place gets busy and loud, but the acoustics are decent. So you don't feel like you are sitting in on your next-door neighbors conversations. There will likely be times where there will be a wait. For that, the restaurant offers and indoor seating area and a few chairs outside. Now to the food. They have burgers, salads, lettuce wraps, wings, chicken strips, nachos, mozzarella sticks, pizzas, calzones, flatbreads, fish and chicken dishes... so much! We had big eyes and tiny bellies, so we ordered way too much food. We got the queso nachos with pork for an appetizer. This was an ample serving, with lots of pork mixed in, not just on the surface of the cheese. Plenty for three people. We were thrilled to pieces about the wings. I went with the habanero mango and the Parmesan. Both were exceptional. Nice amount of meat -- but not the kind of wings that make you wonder if the chickens were pumped up with steroids -- and good, deep flavor. I also went with two ghost pepper wings. I've never had anything flavored by ghost chiles, and both the waitress and the server warned me that I was in for it. It was true! I like to think that my threshold for hot spices high, but now I don't know. They are insanely fiery! I was only able to eat half of one. HALF OF ONE. That's especially after having already had habanero-flavored wings. That's okay, I took my 1.5 ghost wings home and was able to eat the rest later. I had a slice of pizza -- Meaty Beast with four different types of meat. What impressed me the most was how fresh and flavorful it was! It was a thinner crust, and you can actually taste the herbs in the crest. Bonus! Some of the best pizza I have had as of late. I was also glad to see that the restaurant keeps regular specials, so the chances of you seeing specials on a visit are pretty good. And while this is a chain, it certainly has a bit of a local feel. There was lots of good energy and laughter, and even a couple of local folks bumped into each other seemingly after not seeing one another in a while. So, despite the negative reviews, I'm giving it an endorsement. And I look forward to another visit soon. read more

This restaurant sort of reminds me of Buffalo Wild Wings, minus the high price tag and shitty service. Wanted to give this place a 3 1/2 stars! I wasn't impressed, the service from the waiter was excellent, but it was taking forever to get food, and I get it since it was special. The wings were mediocre, flavoring was bland, or there wasn't enough on my wings. What worry's me the most is the customer service, I sat next to a table where a man was sitting, and it seemed like he was fuming. They kept coming back to him multiple times saying his food was next, but he got his food no more than 10 mins before we did and we took 30 mins. So I can imagine how long his took! Was in over the weekend and I am upset to say how horrible this place has turned out. We have been coming in for some time now but it seems over the last couple of months it has just gotten worse and worse. Looks understaffed, they look like they don't know what they are doing. On top of all this it took a while to get greeted as well a long time to even receive our food. Not worth the time waiting nor the prices! Came in last night for the NBA finals and it was a little packed yet our service was still great. We had the nachos and native fries which I highly recommend. We came in recently to grab a bite to eat and watch a game. We came in for wings and ended up getting the big kahuna burger and firecracker shrimp and were wowed not only at how amazing the food was but the service as well. The Mushroom Swiss Burger was devine, sweet onions and just the right amount of sauce!!!! But I must say the sweet potato fries were even better!!! (Hint: add a little ranch dipping sauce). This place has consistently slow service. Tonight's visit took the cake. We waited 20 minutes on the phone to place an order for pick-up. We ordered the house special pizza. After reading some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive about what my dining experience was going to be; I always like to give restaurants a try even if the reviews are bad just to see if they've improved. This Native in particular seemed to me that most of those reviews were when the restaurant first opened, at this location. Let me start off with the customer service I can't say anything negative only positive because from first stepping into Native we were greeted with smiling faces & willingness to help & get my party seated right away even though being told the wait was about 30-40min we ended up getting seated within 15mins & out waitress was at our table & getting our drink & appetite order right away that's a plus :) our tater tots came out super quick & pipping hot with three different dipping sauces; yummy... Each of our entrees came out delicious & just what we had ordered Now was only going to give three stars because I was a little disappointed that for dessert I had ordered the pineapple upside down cake (which I seen several people order & it looked so good) after waiting for some time our waitress returned & advised they were all out :( but to my surprise the manager came to our table apologized & even offered any dessert in the menu free of charge for the inconvenience, wow that there to me was worth an additional star, when a manager cares enough for their patrons that they come out to the table without even being asked to, and we didn't even have to complain. This has been the worse service I've ever had. I understand it was a busy night and probably the server was new. However, you still need to check on your customers and apologize when an error is made. The wings were served cold, never got silverware and player or napkins, the last drink order took forever to arrive so we had to cancel the order. The checks were wrong so we had to wait even longer to get the right checks. I don't mean to be harsh but maybe if your having problems ask for help. We tried it a second time but unfortunately the service was still not on par with many other restaurants in Tucson. We did not order a lot of food...about 12 wings and a Native Platter but it took 50 minutes to get out to us. The waitress unfortunately did not seem like she wanted to be there. You can usually tell when a person seems sick of their job and this lady was exhibiting that type of personality. The food was just "meh" but there are so many better choices out there. This is the second restaurant that I have ever reviewed that is a "no-return" (as the first one I made a no-return closed). Went here for the first time, place was FREEZING cold. Atmosphere is okay... they have big screen TVS to watch sports. We (husband and I) were there at night, had their "strippers" chicken. Had a blue moon beer and ordered fries on the side. I probably won't order the strippers chicken again, maybe try the traditional (bone in wings) chicken wings instead. Strippers chicken pieces didn't seem appealing. But I did get full...strippers chicken didn't wow my taste buds with their hot strawberry flavor. It wasn't "HOT" enough... and I LOVE spicy foods. I will go back to try the other foods they have. I am kind of nervous about the manager tho. I was reading reviews about this place after we had left. Sounds like this place needs some undercover management workers to see how this place is being run. Our waitress was good tho... no complaints on her. We decided on the Value package? It was a pizza, 10 wings and a salad. The salad was huge and was more than enough for 2 kids and 2 adults. Wow this was an awful experience. Went in a little late, about an hour and a half before close. Took forever to get seated. About 10 minutes after we ordered our waiter said "it'll be right out" and it took literally 25 more minutes for 15 wings and a stripper combo. Cooks were very unprofessional in the kitchen, yelling and cursing, also employees were not wearing masks (That doesn't bother me but to some it does). After we got our food, the 15 chicken wings I got were absolutely tiny. Way to tiny to be charging over $1 per wing. Granted they did taste very well, It was not worth the money in the long shot. It was like a hard piece of burnt toast. The booth seat I was sitting in was loose and every time I scooted forward came apart. Now let's talk about the food. We come here all the time. The only reason is because Tyne, Luis, and Alex work here. They are the only people we actually love here. We tried it with others and it was ok and some bad. But if you get lucky to be helped by these individuals, you will know the difference between mediocre to bad service to awesome service that keeps us coming back.
