there's this older man there that is so rude. tosses your change back on the counter. always just ready to argue with you, you won't win lol. It's always unreasonable too. fees don't make sense, everything is overcharged. New owners don't seem to really know what they're doing running this business. On one occasion I went in and selected a craft beer (great selection) that was labeled at a certain price. The kid at the register rang it up as $2 more than it was labeled and when I told him it was illegal to price items one way and try and charge another, he just shrugged his shoulders and said it's still $2 more... Also, they will will not let you use a card under $5....at a convenience store - a place where people typically go in for one or two items on the go. They used to simply charge you a small fee for using a card under $5, but now they apparently would rather just lose a sale completely. Is it really that safe to assume most people carry cash on them these days? They don't. Anything under $5 is cash only. Don't expect to run into this "convenience" store for a single item without cash-in-hand. Absolutely stupid and destructive way to do business. read more

It's a clean, well appointed convenience store with the expected markup. Nice staff and a surprising variety of beer and wine as well as sodas, energy drinks, dry foods like cereal, bread and oats, and basic home goods. As the name implies they deliver on a solid assortment of organic and premium brands. What bumps this up from a 3 to a 4 for me is that it's not the usual dingy kind of convenience store you're used to in a lot of downtown areas. This owes to the fact that it's located as part of the CYAN apartments, a newer highrise development on 4th avenue. Lastly, there is very little produce here. Based on it's name (I even think the word produce is listed on the outside) one might get the impression it delivers on my personal dream of Euro-style fruit/veggie stand. Some staples like lemons, apples, and oranges are available... but it's definitely more of a feeling lazy gonna get a six pack and some Kettle Chips kind of place, not a grab some beets and kale let's make some juice and pulp chips kind of place. read more

Cute little shop, not a ton of selection of natural goods, but they have a good amount especially if you're in need of some natural teas and soaps and so on. They also have some basic necessities that a mini mart would have too. Prices are decent as well! I come here everyday and I've always been super stoked to support a small business instead of CVS next door. Super cool place super cool people, but today was super odd. On the door it says coffee and muffin for two dollars so today I bought my normal coffee and I realise I forgot my muffin and granted the only purchase I made for that transaction even though I had just button something previously that was much more expensive, was under 5$ And I know they have a sign that says any purchase under five dollars there is a charge but anyways when I asked him about the muffin he told me that I wasn't allowed to have the muffin because he didn't charge me for the charge for the muffin even though the muffin is supposed to come with the coffee? So basically he told me because I didn't pay cash and because he didn't charge me for the under 5$ charge for the muffin, but he did charge me for fee for the coffee (the muffin is supposed to be free with any size coffee bought so I don't understand how his point made any sense) that I was not allowed to have the muffin. Then I tried to explain how it says when you buy a coffee you get a muffin, and he still fought me on it and told me he had to charge me an extra charge for the free muffin. Normally I wouldn't post something like this but I come into this store at least once a day so I was bummed to be treated like that. Customer service is so important! I read more

Every experience I've had has been awesome until tonight. The old white guy who wears gloves and a hat was working when my friend and I went in to buy some stuff. Next thing you know, he's yelling at us to hurry up because he needed to pee. My friend and I overheard him talking about us to the guy who was checking out too. When we grabbed everything we needed, about 4 more people had come in and he continued to tell US that we should have been quicker and how he's the only one there and that he works for 12 hours. He was completely rude and acted like WE were the reason he couldn't go to the bathroom, when there were plenty of more people there. I will not be shopping there anymore unless I see that he is not working. read more

THIS IS NOT a natural food store. They have zero nutritional supplements or body care items. The sign outside glows "natural", "organic", but it is all colgate and red bull inside. There were a few cans of organic soup and some organic candy bars. There is a Whole Foods nearby, aim for that. read more

So this is place is basically the only store-type in the PSU area and convenient to walk to so I very much appreciate this place. It's like they buy their stuff from costco (or some type) and up the price a bit but its worth it when you're in need of something quick or missing an ingredient. They surprisingly have a few things you wouldn't expect them to....more like a mini grocery store. Spices, toiletry items, fruits and veggies, milk, etc. They recently seemed to extend their hours versus what it says on the door which is awesome...(sometimes i forget). It's nice cause the owner does not care if i bring my dog in...actually seems to get excited and gives her a treat because i usually bring her with me when i come here. A few of the people who work here are pretty quiet and don't super personable but thats okay because im just here for a quick good or snack. This place is a front. Basically parading a "natural" store as something it isn't. What it isn't is a good place. Unfriendly staff, unnecessary charges for different services they have, and all around ignorance for the products they carry. As a simple mini-mart this place offers little more than the 7/11 a few blocks away. It seems to me like the name is the only thing this place has going for it. They also have many different locations throughout Portland. All of which do not follow the same plan as the downtown store. This means they have little to no organic/natural products. Also, most of their food and drinks are expired. Look next time. When I brought this up to one of the clerks they didn't seem to care much and didn't offer any solution to the problem. So I let that go. When I returned a few weeks later to see maybe they had fixed that problem. Nope. No such luck things were still outdated and no one seemed to care. My guess is they just don't have very good management whom I've also never seen in the stores aside from the "financial services." desk at the downtown store. One bright light about these stores however is the person who works at the Natural Mart near the airport. He was a younger Hispanic guy with interesting hair. I wish I would have gotten his name so I could give him proper thanks. He was very helpful and empathetic. Although, I think he's just a victim of bad circumstances as far as working for these people goes. All in all I'm steering clear of this place and it's other locations because I don't support shady business practices and poor treatment of employees. read more

As others have noted, the name is misleading; nature has left the building if it ever inhabited it. It's a perfectly adequate convenience store with the typical mix of some reasonably priced everyday items and some with a generous margin added to the price tag. Pay attention, and don't expect more than from a Plaid Pantry or a 7-11. read more
