Club sandwich and sweet potato fries
    Tony P.

We were in Brunswick to shop at White Star lighting, and an employee recommended Nautica Joes. It's diner style, except you order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I didn't know what to get so I ordered the club sandwich and the very nice young woman recommended having it on grilled sourdough. A good hearty sandwich, bacon, lettuce, tomato, with mayo and mustard. It had turkey, ham, and Swiss. Had sweet potato fries on the side. Crispy but good. My wife said her burger was excellent. She had potato salad as a side, very good I had some. It's a very nautically themed place, decorated in seafarers regalia. I will return to try other menu items.

    The best catering!!

Nautico Joes is one of a kind! Food is top notch, always fresh, and oh so yummy! They did a catering order and were so willing to make it everything we needed and more! Everyone was raving about how great the wraps, fresh fruit, pasta salad, and cookies were. We can't wait to do another catering with them in the future! Super professional and accommodating. Thank you so much, Nautico Joes!!

My first time ordering from here. I had enough for two meals! Well worth the price! Looking forward to my next selection.

Cut little cafe. We were traveling and did a search for restaurants. This one came up along with a list of others. The menu looked good, so we decided to give it a try. Chicken salad wrap, grilled cheese and sweet potato fries were good. Customer service on the other hand was lacking. Being first timers we didn't know the routine. We weren't greeted by either girl behind the counter or even offered a menu. We weren't asked if we were ready to order, we were only started at until I asked if she was ready to take our order. She smartly said, "Waiting on you." No thank you once the transaction was complete...nothing. I noticed as we were eating she seemed to treat what seemed to be regular customers and people she seemed to know much differently, more friendly and welcoming, even smiled. I noticed her attitude come back with a couple of other customers. Maybe she decides to be nice based on what you look like or if she knows you....who knows. We will be marking this cafe off our list next time we pass through. Good customer service goes a long way in creating a positive customer experience and this little place failed all the way around with that.

Burger was amazing. One of the best sweet potato fries I've tried. Sweet Tea was perfect amount of sweet. 2 good measures of a good burger place, 1 when they ask you how you want your burger cooked (Pass). And two how red there tomatoes are (fail unfortunately) as quality places spend extra on quality products and bright red tomatoes cost more.

I work in Darien and love to hit Nautica Joe's for lunch. The service is quick and friendly. The food isn't super frilly, but it is tasty. I haven't had anything that I didn't like. The chicken salad rocks!!!! Teachers love it!

We were told that it would be about an hour and a half for a table we were ok with that and put our name on the list. I would say it took about an hour for a table. Our server immediately came to the table to ask for our drink orders so we thought we were off to a great start. She also took our food orders rather quickly. However, after that she pretty much disappeared on us. She never once came by to ask if we needed any more mimosas or refills on our waters. She didn't even let us know that the kitchen was backed up. We had to ask the hostess to look for her as it had been 45 minutes after ordering and we had no sign of her. She was outside texting. She then came by and said it's a holiday weekend it's going to be busy and then walked away. Our food was delish and we really liked what we ordered but by the time we got it we had been at the restaurant for at least an hour after ordering. I had the breakfast sandwich that was basically like a bacon and and cheese with tomato on a sandwich with cheesy grits on the side. We waved her down to close out and left right after we finished eating. Server was not friendly or attentive.

I guess I wasn't very clear on what to expect after looking at their website before my visit. I much enjoy the Artists' Guild shop at Goodyear Cottage on Jekyll or Glynn Visual Arts on SSI and I had the impression that this would be Brunswick's version of those handmade art stores, but it wasn't. There was a paint-your-prefab-ceramics class going on in the back studio and people gathered around a table in the cafe making a craft or something. I know these are popular with certain people but Build-a-Bear type ceramics are not for me. The store portion is laid out much like an Anthropologie vibe, made to look like everything is precious and "deep." Merch was more crafty than artsy, like Etsy as a shop, with Etsy prices. All artsy-looking commercially produced goods or handicrafts rather than actual art--I saw no OOAK items in the shop, nothing actually handmade either unless the bead earrings were handmade on a loom but again, identical duplicates of them. It seemed like everything had to be a certain matching aesthetic and be a similar BoHo Brooklyn "Beige Mom" style. Brunswick can be diverse for those who embrace it, so the store name "Makers BWK" is a little misleading in that sense. When I think "Southern" + "art" I go to folk art or Gullah crafts, memory quilts, face jugs, etc. I get it if that's too traditional and established for the under-35s, but Brooklyn BoHo? I guess it's a novelty this far from NYC. Also, as you can see in my pictures, there was no coastal art representation for the Golden Isles. Unlike the Artists' Guild shop at Goodyear Cottage on Jekyll or Glynn Visual Arts on SSI, it just seems like there is no sense of locality infused in any of the products Makers BWK had. They mention goods from Haiti online so I appreciate if those are Fair Trade but there was nothing to explain what was local. The craft market candles? The mass-produced sketchbooks? Jewelry, candles, soap, cards, sketchbooks, random snacks... again, not OOAK original art. It is what it is, and good for those who like it. It's artsy craft market stuff. It's just not for me and was frustrating to waste time to visit when online it seemed depicted as actual art for sale.

I love this store and the story behind it! The owners are amazing and their journey is admirable…read more They have a delightful shop with many local items and items from Haiti.
