I hate making negative reviews. This place deserves it. I came in yesterday for the first time. I will never go back. 1. Because the coffee is better and cheaper every where else in Napa. 2. The customer service was AWFUL. The guy with man bun is the main culprit. I walked in and he just stares blankly. I say hello first and he barely acknowledges our existence and stares at us, doesn't ask what we would like or offer recommendations. I wanted to leave immediately. However, my bf really wanted to try them. So I ask "is it all once size for iced" and the man bun dryly replied "yes" in a condescending manner. Like as if I know the answer to that and it's not my first time. We order. My bf tips and he just blankly looks at us and doesn't say anything. We get our coffee and one gentlemen who made the coffees says "have a good one!" And my bf tells man bun to have a good day and man bun says NOTHING. I don't want to say it was possibly a racist encounter since man bun was white and we are Mexican but it felt that way. I will never go back. The ambiance seemed like they only welcomed certain races due to man buns behavior. I came to Naysayer after a long day. I'd been up since early in the morning and had a long drive back home. I didn't realize I had walked in about 5 minutes after closing (which is a cardinal sin and something I would never endorse). Instead of politely telling me they were closed (which I would have respected 100%), they took my order and were incredibly friendly. I really wanted to like this place. It's within walking distance of my house, Because of you know, life, I hadn't had a chance to get in there but my brother had gone several times and absolutely loved it. So I happened to have an early morning off and decided to stop in. The barista was chatting with someone who appeared to be a friend of hers sitting at the counter and one of the owners (I think) was there making the drinks. I'm so not bougie when it comes to coffee. And I think this place is trying to be that. The largest size you can get is a 12oz. That's like one big swig for me. So that was a disappointment. Like I said, I'm not bougie. I ordered a large sugar-free vanilla latte with almond milk. Now let's break down how my order had to be altered. First, the flavoring. They make their own flavors. Very cool and awesome. Except all the syrups have sugar and I have diabetes. So, not a great option for the 14% of the American population who may want flavoring in their coffee. Second, the milk alternative. I prefer almond milk. Their only milk alternative is oat milk. So I had to go with the oat milk but it wasn't my first choice. The coffee itself was good. Nothing that made angels sing to me or anything but then I'm not a huge coffee snob and I did only have 12oz with which to decide. Overall I really wanted to like it since it's so convenient to my house but I think I'll have to continue on in my search of a great coffee spot. I wish them well as they continue in their new spot. I love Naysayers, it's a great place to walk to and get breakfast and a warm drink. They are kid and pet friendly and they always have really creative specialty drinks available. As a coffee snob - I really Wanted to LIKE this place and their Food City shopping center location however; their baked goods are limited and so so. I eat avocado toast where ever I go and the Miso Avocado Toast here is the best I've ever had. The pickled cucumbers and red onions added such a nice flavor! It's hard to find a gluten free and vegan product. The sweet potato muffin is both and so good! My husband loved the apple cider donut. The matcha latte is made from scratch with matcha powder (not a pre-sweetened mix) so you get the real matcha flavor. We look forward to coming back again! read more

I love their bagels , such a nice pleasant piece of life when I eat one but I come in and the lady is making Coffee , finished then turned around and grabbed my bagel and made it , with barehands after touching handles for roasters and etc. other baristas touch them and etc. Then too touch my bagel that I'm going to eat , is pretty gross. Then come to find out , it's one of the owners! We first discovered these beans at The Station in St. Helena that does a great job with their espresso drinks. So when I learned that Naysayer opened a retail space in Napa I decided to try them out. The Dumerso Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Gedeo appears to use peaberry beans and the resulting cup seems higher in acidity than the Yirgacheffe beans I'm used to. I've been torn on writing this review because I love supporting small/local businesses. I would frequent Naysayer and always had great service when they were located in First & Franklin. I was so excited when they moved into Food City as I pass by it daily. My first time going in was awkward. No one said hello, asked what I wanted to order, or even said anything when it was ready. I felt like I was just ordering into the void. But they had just opened the new spot so I brushed it off. The next time I came in was the same. No hello, no "what can I get you?" Nothing. I also asked the barista if they still had these cute cups I saw on their Instagram and he was like "uhhhhhh.. they're obviously over there on the wall." Okay... I still bought one because I liked it so much. My last time going in, the girl at the register was laying on the counter and looked annoyed that I was in there. She didn't say hi or ask what I wanted. Is that just part of the vibe here? This time the barista did announce my order was ready and smiled as I picked it up. Their coffee is 4.5-5 in my opinion but I don't think I'll ever come back after feeling like my business was completely unwanted. read more
