When it came in, I received an email letting me know. The email not only got my first name wrong, but included three pictures of my brand new ring, that I already purchased, on someone else's hand. I went to the store to pick it up today and showed the employee at the customer service desk, asking if this is normal practice at Long's? He agreed it that it was strange, but no apology or anything. I also had to ask for all of the packaging, travel case and cleaning cloth that normally comes with a purchase of the dollar value from this particular brand. Needless to say, this was a very strange experience for a multi-thousand dollar purchase and we will not be going back to Long's.

This was our first time looking at engagement rings. I chose Longs because it was a well known chain that I was familiar with because of their watches. store was pretty empty but we were not immediately greeted, took a couple minutes for someone to come help us. At first, the associate felt a little impatient but my girlfriend and I both felt things improved after a bit. In total she spent about an hour with us, showing us all the different settings. We got her business card after and I reached out. First time took her 9 days to respond, said it was because she was on PTO. No big deal, said she would get me information Friday. Information never came, I followed up the next day but still no reply after a week. While I do appreciate the hour she spent with us, respectfully will be taking our business elsewhere as trying to buy an engagement ring should not be this hard.

We went to NH one jewelry store was very nice we shop there often they just did not have anything the other the sales person was very young and rude. So we left and decided we would go on a search for a locket. On the way home I thought about Royal Jewelers. We had never been to the store but someone I know spoke very highly of it. So I called the store explained what we were looking for. The saleswoman sounded excited as she said they had just the locket they had it for awhile. We asked Margaret to hold it for us. We went a few days later and it was exactly what my friend wanted-mind you this was a small purchase under $500. Margaret treated us like we were buying an expensive piece. She was so helpful and genuine. My friend purchased it and they had it engraved it came out perfectly and before the engraving was authorized Margaret sent an example over. The store is very beautiful, and Margaret is a gem herself. It was a great experience, we will be back.

Absolutely avoid this business. I cannot caution you strongly enough. Absolute incompetence verging…read moreon malpractice. They're just there to push metal and rocks with no genuine concern for the customer. My wife went to Royal Jewelers with her engagement ring and the ring marking the birth of our daughter. She's had them for 27 and 24 years, and she left with both rings destroyed and needing to be rebuilt from scratch. The rings were joined together and she wore them often, but this past time she wasn't able to easily remove them. She wanted them resized and expected they would remove them by cutting them, easing them off and then add a small section to make them larger. Instead, after they were cut, their senior "expert jeweler" went after them with two pairs of pliers like he was using the "Jaws of Life" and tore open a 1/2-inch gap in the ring putting sharp bends and scratches all around the ring, including hard bends in the settings and basically destroying the entire ring set. Now she's home in tears with her ring, absolutely ruined by this yahoo, and needing it to be rebuilt from scratch. To make their failure even more painful for us, the ring was originally made by a good friend of ours who has since passed away. He was an actual professional jeweler that I'm certain could have easily have managed this task. When I called to speak with this jeweler, I got a complete song and dance of "Well I had to be careful not to cut her finger with the sharp edges" and "I told her some of the set stones may come a little loose". Seriously? He should have told her "I'm going to open up your ring like a pinata and you will never wear it again." And the nonchalant attitude of not my problem "well these things can happen" I got from him on the phone was beyond the pale. He could have easily slipped a thin strip of stainless steel under the cut to protect her and eased the ring off. Or, he could have cut the ring on both the left and right side so it would come off in two pieces. This is a simple job that just needs some care and can be done in many ways. Royal could have done better with bolt cutters! So, I would say to any potential customer, Royal Jewelers may be suitable for retailing pre-manufactured items or working on costume jewelry, but for anything with sentimental or monetary value just stay away. And to Royal Jewelers, I just say this, if you cannot do a job right, then just say so and don't take the job.

It's not often I find myself speechless, but this is one of those rare times. I was in the market for my second men's Rolex. I was bitten by the bug my first purchase years ago (not at PD Co), plus I love jewelry, and Rolex still looks like a great investment. As in they hold their value pretty solidly. So, being a ordinary working man & modest wage-earner, I diligently & patiently saved for my purchase until I had enough to buy. Kinda like our ancestors used to do before the modern "I want it NOW" mentality took over. Katie the business owner took superb care of me, patiently answering all of my cross-continent questions & concerns. Even though the Rolex I was purchasing from her was far from the highest-end pieces in her showroom, she treated me with the same respect as her top clients. And might I add PD's prices are excellent? I scoured various sites including eBay, Chrono24, NYC Diamond District. Nobody can beat their prices! Throw in the Company's 1 year warranty + crazy overnight shipping and it all adds up to Paul Duggan can't be beat! I mean we closed the deal on a Tues near the shop's East Coast (NH) closing time, and I had my Rolex by 4pm the next day in Calif. How stupid crazy is that? I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The Rolex looks brand new! Thank you so much Katie & Paul Duggan Co. You guy's are the best!
