This review is long overdue. My husband went to the ER at NCH North Collier Hospital in May of this year due to a scare of a possible stroke. RANJE A. MOHAMADAMEEN, DO was the hospitalist in charge of his care. He was FABULOUS!!!!! You don't always come across a physician with a mix of knowledge, professionalism and empathy but such was the case with Dr. MOHAMADAMEEN. We took our week old baby to the ER at 1am 6/9/2026. To get check for various symptoms and the nurse who check us in was absolutely terrible. He poked our son 3 to 4 times used the needle like a violin and still couldn't get a vein. When prepping to get a vein he us a synthetic liquid skin bandage instead of the proper cleaning materials. After an hour of watching this horrible seen he finally called a nicu nurse for assistance. Unfortunately the Nicu nurse couldn't get a vein either then blamed other baby because he jerk last second when she tried. First red flag was when the original first nurse who checked us in didn't use gloves when handling our son on top of that he had cuts and opened wounds on his hands. I never exchange words with anyone I hate confrontation but I told him if you don't know what your doing ask for help don't be scared it's not like flipping burgers at McDonald's your at a hospital we completely understand asking for help. I guess I hurt his pride and ego he caught an attitude and try to argue with me that he knows what he's doing. When the nicu nurse came she asked the original nurse to prepare my son skin for an IV in front of her he use again a liquid skin bandage and she told him what are you doing that a bandage and not a cleaning agent. We left and went directly to the Fort Myers children's Hospital and on the first try they were able to put in an IV in seconds with out causing any pain or harm read more

I would give 1 star, but I am being generous due to the fact that I went here right after Christmas, 12/27/2025 and they might have had a skeleton crew on. But, can a hospital legitimately ever be short-staffed? I had an accident and EMS brought me here (if you have a choice, choose another hospital). ER doctor P seemed overworked and not very concerned about me. They did CT scans and discovered a broken hip. I was kept in the ER from 2 pm until 1230 am when "a room became available." When I got to my room on the 4th floor, I asked the nurse, "how did a room become available at 1230 am, someone just died?" She said that my room was available when she started her shift, 7 pm, but the admitting doctor S was "too busy to do the paperwork to admit me." I was told that I would have hip surgery the next day (Sunday, 12/28/25) after 3 pm. Thus, I was surprised and annoyed that from 130 am until 5 am I was disturbed 4 times by Dr. S, tech for bloodwork, tech for xrays, nurses. I said to one of the techs, "Why do this in the middle of the night? Why not tomorrow morning?" She said Dr. S had ordered it. Next day 12/28 was just lying in bed with IV waiting for surgery. After 4pm I was taken to pre-op. Surgeon, a different Dr. S, explained procedure and so did anesthesiologist. Surgery was around 6 pm and after recovery I got back to my room around 730pm. Nurse would only give me some lousy crackers fearing I might vomit. Didn't get any real food until next morning. Monday 12/29 hospital staff seemed a slight bit better. Hospitalist Dr. R stopped by and she explained things. Even P.T. came to get me up (very painful) and she discussed my situation. Marketing people from Encompass Rehab came to see me and I told them - good, take me! I finally escaped NCH North around 330pm on 12/30 by ambulance transport to Encompass Rehab. Bottom line: if you have a choice, choose another hospital! Your life may depend on it! read more

My friend was a patient in NCH north Naples, FL Emergency Department on February 8,2026 after a fall. While the triage nurse was efficient, we waited for over four hours to be seen. When we were finally brought back to a room, it was another hour before a doctor saw us. I understand the ER is busy, but we received no updates on the wait time or an apology for the delay. More communication about scheduling would make a significant difference for patients in distress. Worst Hospital, I don't wish my Enemies to get treated at NCH NORTH NAPLES. read more

The hospital Emergency room staff were rude and from my perspective the PA was not competent.

Horrific experience with lifetime consequences. Was assigned this arrogant Chinese foot dr. who severely damaged me and left me disabled.

This was my best ER experience ever! I was transported to this hospital from a nearby radiology office after a growth on my head began to bleed profusely. The EMT wheeled me into a room in the ER. I was immediately under the care of the ER RN. The doctor on duty examined me and asked for bloodwork. Based on the bloodwork the doctor recommended that I be admitted to the hospital to await a review of a surgeon. I agreed to follow the ER doctor's recommendation, but it wasn't long before the surgeon came into the ER and proceeded to perform an outpatient surgery under local anesthesia. When it was completed I was discharged, able to return home by myself. Although this all took place over the course of about five hours, In other ERs I lave waited longer than that just to be seen by a doctor. I am very pleased with my experience and would not hesitate to recommend NCH to others. read more

Don't ever go here around the holidays. Christmas 2017 my parent had a stroke and while the doctors were good, the majority of the nursing staff was not. Every time a nurse shift change, some new pushy creepy white nurse would try a soft manipulative push to get us to leave the hospital for hospice. The doctor had told us, parent didn't have long so the drive to kick us over to hospice was deeply deeply upsetting. It's taken me 8 years to write this review moderately calmly. read more

I don't know how this place is only getting 2 stars. I went in for an emergency service, was seen immediately, bunch of tests done promptly and scans, then surgery and stayed overnight. Everyone was pleasant and attentive the entire time! The only bad thing was the food. For some reason they put me on a cardiac diet which was not applicable. I would definitely go there again and glad I chose them over Lee Memorial for this type of emergency surgery. Obv Lee has a helipad though. I highly recommend NNH. Clean and friendly. read more

My husband had a seizure and was taken by ambulance to NCH North at our request. When I arrived I was asked to wait as they hadn't assigned a room for him yet. The wait was roughly 7 minutes. They did the preliminary work up, & the first nurse he had was great. Got him situated and comfortable-then came a male nurse who I best can describe as snarky. Not happy, dismissive, and inattentive. It was probably an hour before they wheeled in a monitor with a neurologist on the screen-no doctors yet. We were in ER from 11:30 am until 5:45pm before being taken upstairs. In that time male nurse came in only about 4times 2x because I went to the desk asking for him. 1neuro on the screen and 1doctor for 5minutes. I give them a C- No pillow, no blanket, no water, & it's freezing in there. We were told they were waiting on transfer, & it'd be 10 minutes...that became 45 minutes later. On the up note-he was placed on the 6th floor, & that nursing staff is the best in town. Always accessible, I felt they could have checked in more regularly without having to be summoned by the bell, but I give that floor an A. Kind, knowledgeable, skilled, & clean. He was able to sleep well at this hospital which was totally different from when he had surgery downtown. NCH Downtown gets a D- for care, cleanliness, comfort, & nursing, 3rd floor was a nightmare, filthy, call button not answered for 45 minutes or more. Transfer gurney was filthy, room bed had broken wheels with pieces left scattered throughout the room. Loud nurses in the hall, no prior check for disability which put him in a room with everything on the left when he can't move his left. NCH North is where to go! read more

Dr. Ranje A Mohamadameen aka RJ is a phenomenal physician and the brightest star in my ward's recent stay at North Collier Hospital. RJ made his rounds at close to the same time each day making it easy to plan and have access to speak to him. His bed side manor was informative, kind and easy to understand. He went over and above to keep us aware of our wards status. I have never experienced a physician who took the time as RJ did to keep us in the loop. My family has been at this hospital several times over the last 15 years. I just don't understand why the communication is awful. Why can't the nurses call the emergency contact when someone is about to have surgery or contact them or communicate because sometimes that patient might not be able to communicate. I don't understand. My communication is so difficult. I've had a very bad experience about seven years ago where my father got transferred to another hospital and they didn't even tell me !!!!! and he had surgery and I went to NCH North Naples to look for him and he wasn't there and I panicked and they told me he got transferred to downtown for a surgery. So of course I asked for a supervisor immediately because how dare them not tell their family member what was going on !!When your loved one is going under anesthesia. They should be calling that emergency contact to let them know they're going for surgery. You might never ever see them again half the time when I walk by the nurses station they're not doing anything. The least they could do is call that emergency contact a loved one and let them know what's going on. it's very simple and it takes two minutes. It's very disturbing that this is the way the health system is now!!! It's a shame because the RN and nurses are very good at this hospital, but I just don't understand the communication aspect read more

I kind of experienced the whole NCH hospital on my visit. I don't want to be graphic but I was in a lot of pain and felt bloated. Mrs. K. came home from St. Louis at about 1am Monday morning and diagnosed me with a stomach flu. So I tried to lay down and sleep. At about 3am I said we have to go to the ER. Here is were luck comes into your life. There were only 2 people in the ER and I was seen fast. As I described my symptoms to the Triage nurse said a lot of flu with those symptoms going around. I was taken for a CT scan of my lower abdomen. With in a matter of minutes a Dr. came in and said I had ruptured my appendix and I would need surgery. The quality of these CT scan must be excellent. The surgeon came in and told me I had a ruptured appendix and there was two pieces of stool lying against my bowl. So somehow stool came through my ruptured appendix. I think the surgery went well. I am still very much in pain but I can deal with it knowing the cause is gone. Some personal observations. I have always had a private room till I came here. I would prefer to suffer alone :). My first roommate was somewhat quiet but his caregiver was loud. I think the caregiver was thinking he was in an audition. My second roommate was a young man whose English was poor and the hospital had plenty of staff to speak to him. He was a TV addict and watched TV to early hours of the morning. Why would a TV in a hospital work at that time is a mystery to me. The staff was only as good as the promises they made and didn't keep. Every care giver said no problem I will handle it then walk out the door never to be seen again. The funniest was the head nurse making her rounds like the queen she is and looked at my IV and said she will get someone to fix it. Nope still the same bandages from the very first time they put it in, is what they took out upon my release. Upon being released the nurse said I will get you a transporter to wheelchair you out of the hospital. 45 mins go by and no transporter. The nurse sees me and says "the transporter hasn't picked you up?" No kidding I am still here. I read in another review this is a small town hospital and not to be taken as what you used to. I am contacting the state department of insurance today. According to the fair health consumer, your prices are not are way of standard market rates. I have also asked you for a repricing review and grievance but all I was faced with was your customer service submitting the invoice for payment and ignoring my request. It's the most horrible customer service people I have ever encountered. It's very sad how you treat patients in your community. Hello George, please don't forget to call me this Friday. I requested to speak to the billing supervisor/ patient advocate and they refused and told me to wait 3 days. Please call me! The at fault party has already been established. Why are you sneaking trying to bill my insurance? You need to bill the insurance of the at fault party. Or are you giving the at fault party special preference since he is a physician himself? Call me please it's urgent. I order you to stop billing my insurance. Also why are your prices 10x more than what's normally charged in our area and according to fair health consumer? Why do you want 10x more than the customary charge for our area? I looked up each specific treatment code and your billing dept is adding two zeros behind every amount. Is that special NCH billing? There was no pre-authorization and I have to right to dispute your costs otherwise I will file with the following agencies: FL state Attorney General * State Department of Health * Better Business Bureau (BBB) * Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Hello George I saw that you called me and I returned your call and left a message on the extension you gave me. The billing staff at NCH just hang up the phone and obviously don't help with anything. It's urgent I speak to you. I am disputing all the charges on my bill. I am concerned with the prices you charged me, upon comparison with national and regional averages, the charge for the ct scan is significantly above standard market rates. This is not customary reasonable charges. I am also showing my bill to everyone in my neighborhood as they are working in healthcare or may not, they are all agreeing with me and we are researching the prices Together like 80 people have seen your charges, I will keep on showing. The treatment codes don't add up with the charges that you have assigned. I am contacting the state dept of insurance today. This doesn't make any sense. I am also meeting with more people in the community today. I met a person yesterday who had the same procedure done with the ct scan and was just charges around $1000. This person had the procedure done in 2023. You are telling me that a year later your prices for the same procedure jumps to $18,000. That's not a customary charge. Another thing I have a problem with is that you sent it to the insurance company for payment and you are trying to avoid allowing me to dispute the bill. This claim is still under process and you have no right to seek payment without allowing me To dispute the bill. This was never pre authorized. You hide the charges and they your staff try to avoid me and act very difficult on the phone. Here are the following treatment codes with pricing obtained: 81025 should be charged $142 72128 - $67 72125 - $90 72131 - $72 99284-25 $652 There is no way that adds up to the price you charged of $18,000!!!! I'm printing all the proof I have now to upload it to the agencies I mentioned since your medical billing staff refuse to work with me. My neighbor told me that you are known for being the worst hospital in the nation, wow. I am amazed. Wow look what the newspaper posted about you: " NCH, which has a combined 713 beds, faced some "worse than average" findings on infections, safety and communications, according to the data". Absolutely horrible experience. Had a friend who was admitted and I wasn't allowed to see them and was very rudely told to leave or I would be trespassed. No worse feeling than being worried about someone and not being allowed to even check on them. Margaret was the charge nurse at the time and to say the very least, she made an already very tough time even harder. If I could give -100 stars I would. Absolutely unacceptable patient care at NCH north collier Hospital. I have never witnessed such a lack of compassion and professionalism in a healthcare setting. My family member is currently admitted for kidney failure- undergoing dialysis treatment and is on a strict renal diet. Since arriving, I have seen firsthand how poorly he and others are being treated. Today, I arrived around 1:00 PM and immediately noticed they were in severe pain. It was also time for their scheduled pain medication. I called for a nurse multiple times using the in-room call button, which beeped and lit up outside the room--yet no one came. After waiting and seeing my loved one in agony for almost AN HOUR! I went to the front desk and requested a nurse in person. I was dismissed and told, " the only thing I can do is let his nurse know, she's on her break" with no effort to find someone who could actually help. After FIVE attempts and repeated requests, I finally walked back up after an hour!!! Told them the nurse had never shown, again front desk " this isn't my floor" I proceeded to ask for a number to file a complaint- and couldn't even give me that. Finally after an hour saw the nurse walking down the hall. Instead of showing concern, she was visibly annoyed and snapped, "I'm coming, I'm coming, I was on break." Excuse me? A patient is suffering, and a break is more important than providing urgent medical care? Completely unacceptable. God forbid we interrupt their break to get her patient the care and medication he needs. To make matters worse, this morning, we were supposed to receive a call with an update from the doctor. No call ever came. There are two contact numbers on file, and neither one was used. When I finally arrived at the hospital in person, there were still no updates. When the nurse came in after her break I requested an update from any notes left behind- she stated she didn't have any notes for updates. The doctor had apparently spoken to the patient, my family member but no one bothered to inform the family as we requested. Communication here is non-existent. This level of care is beyond negligent. Patients and their families deserve basic respect, proper medical attention, and timely updates--none of which we received here. I would NOT trust this hospital with my loved one's care ever again. If you have other options, go elsewhere. If you love your family members/ friends- do not bring them here! read more

It has taken me a year to finally write this review. Giving birth here was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. Long story short, they do not care about your birth plan. My OB was checking my cervix & I was begging her to stop but she wouldn't & she continued to keep going & broke my water with her hand without telling me her intentions. All of the nurses had a cold vibe including the post partum nurses, besides a nurse named Ashley. The lady that came in to help us apply for Medicaid for our daughter put her own name as my daughters legal guardian, she put in the wrong mailing address so I've never received information on my daughters insurance & she even put the incorrect social for my husband on my daughters birth certificate. If you're an expecting mom please avoid this place. I was warned by so many people & I didn't listen. We will be trying Cape Coral next in hopes of a better experience. read more

This hospital will let you die of a heart attack. All they are concerned with is whether you have your insurance card. My husband went in for chest pains. The gentleman checking him in wouldn't allow him to go any further until he found his insurance card. My husband said I think I'm having a heart attack. The hospital worker said "Sir I assure you, you are not having a heart attack." When I rushed in 15 minutes later they refused to let me in until I showed a license? WTF! I spent 8 hours in the waiting room, finally ran tests on me and failed to mention a severe urinary tract infection that was present in my labs, and sent me home with no resolution. The best part of the hospital stay was the young lady who brought and put together the meals. Her name is Chelsea. A real credit to the hospital She was very pleasant and loved her job. The NCH North Naples ER must be poorly staffed with Physicians, and it is poorly managed. I read what the triage nurse said was wrong with me after I got home on their portal. She needs to learn how to write nurses notes and triage patients. People went ahead of people that were very sick when they had a problem that could easily be seen in a physician's office. I was in the ER for 8 hours and was never seen. I finally left at 11:00 pm. They did my Xray and lab, so I had those results on their postal. There were 2 people clearly in a lot of pain, one got in after about 4 hours and one was still waiting when I left so they had been there over 8 hours. One elderly lady with a head injury finally got tired of the wait and left too. Noone was getting in before 4-6 hours. I will never go there again, and I pray for those that do if they are very sick. read more

This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. Total lack of professionalism. Total disrespect for me as a human being. In my opinion everybody there should be fired. And the reason I say that is because even after I put a review on their page. And answered their satisfaction survey that they sent to me, nobody even bothered to get back to me which tells me that even the people at the top Don't care. Truly cannot say anything bad about here. Came in because my ribs were hurting. They took me right in. Gave me X-Rays, a CATscan, even an ultrasound. I didn't know dudes got ultrasounds. If I recall correctly, it's gonna be a boy. I'll name him Regal. If it's a girl, by some fault of humanity, I'm going with Duchess. Duchess Duncer. Staff here was great. Awesome. I left thinking I'd made 10 new friends. Great bedside manner. Just seemed relatable. Michele was amazing. If anyone ever needs a place to stay for a night, find her. She'll put you up and make you breakfast. I didn't get to explore but my fiance said the cafeteria was great as well. Lunch break worthy. Hmm... I wonder if they deliver. On the weekends when they have a free ambulance. First Response Delivery. All proceeds go to cancer patients and gas money. No broken ribs. I know you were curious. Just tore a muscle. However, I can say that morphine is quite enjoyable. Fiance was with me and got a kick out of me nodding off and trying to eat an imaginary cheeseburger. Would hurt myself on purpose for that experience alone. read more

We arrived from Minnesota to visit our Mom and found she had fallen ill and had to go to the ED. We stayed with her in the emergency department for seven hours and - as a nurse - I was really impressed with the level of care she received. She was admitted and we spent the rest of our trip visiting her in the hospital. Her nurse, Carlin, was wonderful. Everyone on staff, from housekeeping to dietary, was so kind and professional. Their concern was evident every day and we left confident that she was in good hands. It's very difficult to live so far away from an elderly parent and it's so much worse when she's ill like this. I was comforted by the fact that the staff assured us we could call any time and check on her. I'm also very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. Hospitals are just crawling with bacteria, but it made me feel better to see the cleaning staff constantly working. read more

They saved my life. I had 2 huge embolisms in my lungs and 3 dvts. They were also very nice to me. I went for a cat scan and the tech ran out of the room after turning white. Then he helped me to a very comfy chair. I knew I was in big trouble by now. He then walked me across the street to the er. They had a gurney ready and immediately started putting needles in me. I remember waking up to 8 nurses and doctors fiddling with the machines I was hooked up to. I felt the tiniest heart flutter that morning. I thought about the night before when I was short of breath when walking my puppy. I never had either one happen to me before that day so I called my dr who sent me to get a cat scan. I had a heart app on my phone that showed I was in a fib. My heart went from 40 to 180. It was all over the place. If you ever feel your heart do the same thing get to a hospital. They said if I had waited at all I would have died. read more

A dear friend was brought here due to chest pain and migraine vomiting. I came as soon as I could. She was in the emergency room. Room was dark and friend was in pain. As usual the hospital staff were unfriendly and had no affect in our conversations. The doctor and his scribe arrived and he ordered meds and tests. One of these tests was a chest X-ray. When the X-ray tech arrived she asked me to step outside. I did what she asked. As I stood there, a short blonde woman who was wheeling a patient in a gurney "why are you in the hall!" I started to reply to which she stated "can you get out of the hallway so you don't get hit"!!! Couldn't believe her rudeness. Especially at such a delicate time. I was upset enough for my friend's illness. Really didn't need such obnoxious repartee during an already stressful time. Asked for the nursing supervisor. She was just as rude and basically tried to defend her obnoxious nurse. Never coming to this hospital again. read more

Not even going to rate based on giving birth at their women's center because that was traumatizing in its own. Went in, was taken for X-rays immediately. Sat back in waiting room. Get put in a room where the tv remote didn't work. Nurse said she'd get it, never saw her again. Not a big deal. 4.5 hours go by and the doctor finally introduces herself. Meanwhile I've spent the time in pain asking for some relief, and was given Tylenol (surprise, it does nothing for broken bones). Asked for a wheelchair to go use the restroom and the lady that answered hung up and laughed about it like I couldn't see her from my room. After 6 hours, was finally on the verge of going to another ER when they sent someone in to wrap my foot up. A guy who was ASLEEP at the computer not 10 minutes beforehand. He wrapped the wrong toe, singularly. Not to mention they were insistent I had only broken one toe, but come to find out at the specialist I definitely broke two. Absolutely horrible care here. Always hit or miss on whether or not you'll get a caring shift or a bunch of insensitive ghosts as a care team. Go to a different hospital. read more

I gave birth to my daughter here over a year ago. Overall I would say it was traumatic. Nurse was neglectful that night kept saying the hospital was short staffed. Because of a mistake she made I had complications. Luckily in the end my daughter and I were both fine. Post partum nurses were better more helpful and knowledgeable. Was disappointed that I never got to meet with a lactation nurse because she was on vacation. This I believe effected my ability to breast feed and I was not successful. the worst hospital I ever being I was admitted to the er spend 7 hrs on the hr only got pain medication doctor come and see me one can't find out what it was wrong with me at midnight finally they admitted me to a room I come with vomiting and pain on my abdomen , I got pain medication and some ting to control the vomit I was filling ok to eat very very hungry nothing to eat or drink for over 24 hrs when they contact the doctor because never see one except at the er she said yes they broug half of chicken sandwich when I said I still hungry they said we ahvo no food I said I have a card I can go and buy food at the csfetria they did not allowed me now they said I can live and go home if I wanted or they call the police on me ! really ?? this are all Cuban and people from Haiti aliens probably and treating to call the police on me because I want to go down to the cafeteria to buy some food never saw a doctor Olin over 24 hrs tomorrow morning at 8 am my daughter is coming to get me out I living this is worst than a Nazi hospital no food no doctors only inexperienced so call nurses !!!! hospital from hell read more
