My name is MarI Munoz, I am leaving this review because I am absolutely livid the way I was treated the of physicians . I had a hysterectomy about eight weeks ago and I haven't heard much about going forward what's the date in case I start experiencing anything or anything like that so I figured I'd call because for the past two weeks. I have not been able to sleep barely eaten anything, I'm constantly sweating waking up on a bed soak wet, hot flashes constant throughout the day, I feel down, extremely extremely tired and I messaged Annie DeMagio's office about my symptoms, she had someone called me this morning to make the appointment knowing what I was asking on the message and explaining my symptoms, I made the appointment for 12 o'clock and waited pay $60 co-pay. I was waiting in the room with my mother when Annie entered the room and did not say hello any of us, instead, she looked really angry and gave us her back without even saying hello, when she finally turned around, I said hello I said, how are you today because she never bothered when I started mentioning my symptoms even before I said anything she said I don't do anything things that you want me to do. I don't do any of what you're asking and I'm not going to and not so many words, she didn't even bother, asking what I was going through how I was feeling absolutely nothing super unethical and unprofessional. Even my mom was shocked and surprised to her reaction and behavior when she entered the room I asked to get my money back and I asked to speak to a manager. They told me that they were in meetings for two hours, and I couldn't talk to that's higher up than the guy that was there that said he . He told me he was gonna have someone back when I asked with uncertainty he couldn't confirm. This needs to be addressed. Her behavior was absolutely uncalled for and not professional at all!! I will never go back there and I don't recommend her to anybody. She is extremely rude and wants to do what she wants with the patient instead of what you are asking for Four as a patient. I scheduled what was supposed to be my annual physical, but before the appointment I was asked to sign a form stating that I would not discuss any new health concerns, request medication refills, or address anything other than previously documented issues. I was told that any new concerns would require a separate appointment. As a patient, this made the annual physical feel much less valuable. One of the reasons many people schedule a yearly exam is to discuss new symptoms, changes in health, preventive care, and other concerns that may have developed since the previous visit. Being restricted from bringing up new issues made me feel that my healthcare needs were not being fully addressed during the visit. I understand that practices have scheduling and billing requirements, but the policy was frustrating and left me feeling that the purpose of the annual physical was limited. I hope the office will reconsider how these appointments are handled and communicate expectations more clearly to patients. read more

Went to the 4th floor where the specialists in his dept are. Door locked and stated to call another no. The answering service was out of another century and uninformed. The Pine Ridge campus was mismanaged and understaffed.This is a patient safety issue and not best practices.Please contact Joint Commission of hospitals and report your issues,the scheduling system is total chaos.Routine biopsies are thrown in with regular surgeries left not having eaten in over 24 hours , no food or drink.Prisoners of war are treated better.They have no outpatient facility.The trauma patient is going in with minor cases.They also do not have a minor room.That is insane.My advise is run. read more

This was a horrible experience! I had to get a breast biopsy, and it turned out that Dr. David Smock has no idea what anesthesia is! Not only did he use cheap Lidocaine -- something I haven't heard mentioned since the '90s -- but he injected it into my chest and immediately started the procedure! He didn't even know that anesthesia takes 1 to 5 minutes to kick in. He just jabbed a needle right into the center of my chest! It was extremely painful! Guys -- you charge outrageous amounts of money for this procedure, and you don't even know how to administer proper anesthesia?! Do you have any conscience at all? For the price you charge, you should be using a whole tank of Lidocaine and making sure the patient feels absolutely no pain. You're working in a hospital, not a butcher shop! I was absolutely shocked by how unprofessional the treatment was. I deeply regret not reading the other reviews about Dr. Smock earlier. He's like the villain in every patient's story online. And by the way, I never even received the results of my biopsy -- no one bothered to follow up. It seems like all this hospital cares about is getting your money, and after that, they completely forget about you. That said, I want to express my gratitude to the mammography doctor, Alicia. She's a perfect example of what a real doctor should be -- incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely compassionate with every patient. It's heartbreaking that people like her are so rare! read more

After reading a lot of the negative reviews, we were ambivalent about my having surgery there. However, this is the hospital that my neurosurgeon operates in and after spending time there, I understand why she elected to go there.. I have been in both of the other hospitals in Collier County and I can tell you that the care at this hospital was above and beyond. I saw the Director of Nursing every day as well as my Hospitalist . The nursing staff was fabulous. It's a smaller hospital and they are completely hands-on. Call buttons broke for a year with an unstable, unattended (for 3 hours) cardiac patient is unacceptable standard of care. MOST unacceptable is a patient having to call the hospital from their cell phone to get a nurse. (had to call twice) room getting dark, nothing on the call bed panel worked NO lights, NURSE alert NOTHING. Talk about FEAR setting in. This is by far the worst hospital I have ever been. I went there for severe stomach pain and constipation. They stuck me in a bed out in the hall right next to the nurses station. All I wanted to do was rest but that was impossible. They tried 4 times to draw blood. they keep sticking me and moving the needle around. finally the hey found someone who new what she was doin. she got right in. they came bac and said my heart enzyme were high. they said I may have had a heart attach. they did another test with the same results but just le me laying out in the hall. I waited another hour until the took me for a CAT scan and found out I had a Colin infection. the dotor wanted admit me and I told him no way. I wanted no more part of the circus. I say my heart doctor the next day and said my heart was FINE! he said that a infection and stress could cause the enzymes to rise. I will never go back to this place. I would not recommend it to my worst enemy read more

Horrible. Been there for 3 specialist appointments, all three were not impressive to put it mildly. Went other places for 2nd opinions and they were better. And they messed up billing twice. I've heard enough horror stories so I looked it up. The national and local hospital ratings had Physicians Regional as one of the very worst nationwide. Like in the lowest 87 (one star) out of 3600 hospitals nationwide! They recently had one of the largest Medicare fines, you will find. Imperative to do your research it will keep you from making the wrong choice! I went to the ER on Collier with a severely broken wrist that eventually needed surgery to insert a plate with 10 screws holding it in place. EXCEPT for the ER doctor, the staff were great. I told the doctor I was in a lot of pain which was obvious. Instead of giving my a shot of morphine like they have done in the past for level NINE pain, the ER doctor gave my a 5mg hydrocodone! I am a practicing physician of 30 years. I visited the ED in December 2024 and regret it. I cannot recommend this hospital or any affiliated hospital, given that the doctor documented and billed for an exam he did not do. The insurance company (Aetna), arguing on my behalf, stated that this is common practice. Other important points to note are that they do not have surgeons on staff and use outside contracted doctors. One of these doctors recommended I be admitted for a dangerous procedure. When I refused per my personal doctor's advice, they gave me two choices: undergo a life-threatening procedure or sign out AMA. After leaving, they billed me $41,000 (adjusted to $7000) for IV and ED services already paid by my insurance. This has been in appeals for 7 months. They do not respond to calls or emails. You cannot speak with anyone other than a phone screener who writes notes for you and sends them to a nurse reviewer. Customer service does not follow through with emails. Aetna even called with me, and we got nowhere. They sent me to collections, and I am still receiving calls even though the bill was paid in full by Aetna over one week ago. A stark lesson learned on patient treatment by this company. At least I am a physician familiar with standard of care and proper procedures. I cannot imagine what others encounter at this unscrupulous hospital system. read more

Disgusting and heartless. Came with a sick/labored breathing 17 month old. After an X-ray and a rsv swab, they came in to tell us we owe $2,000 immediately. We have had PICU stays for 5 days cost less. Not to mention the bathroom had feces on the wall and blood on the portable toilet. They made us wait hours for results, even with a sick baby. read more

My girlfriend went in there because she was having stomach issues and was unable to keep even water down. Was seen by dr gudes, and he had one initial conversation with her and then did not see him again. We were then told by the nurse that all he ordered for her was a shot of haloperidol and then from there on all the nurse did was bring in water and asked her to drink it. We asked if she could get fluids as she was throwing up the water every time she tried to drink it. Apparently dr Jeffrey gudes refused to order fluids and without a single conversation discharged her. We then asked to speak to him and were told that he didn't want to speak to HIS PATIENT. By far the worst hospital experience I've ever had. Dr gudes is a terrible doctor and I pray nobody has to be cared for by him ever again. Might I add that this was around midnight and the ER was not busy at all. Please whatever you do avoid this hospital if Dr gudes is working or any hospital he works at in the future. I wish I could give zero stars. I was terrified during my one week stay after surgery because there was such poor communication and direction to the nurses and nursing assistants. No one who came into my room had any idea what my condition was. no one kept track of my medication, it was all up to me. nurses clearly complained they didn't have supplies they needed, in one case they were even "hiding" supplies. at one point I had to call the outside number on my cell phone because after 20 minutes to call for assistance no one would come. Frequent moaning and crying from someone clearly in distress made me feel like i was in an asylum. There wasn't even a soul at the main desk at hospital entrance after 8 pm , anyone could walk in. in short, it was the worst possible hospital experience. it caused me to greatly fear my next surgery, but thank goodness my experience at Lee Memorial Hospital was 100% better. read more

My husband and I are especially grateful to Dr. Thien Le, a hospitalist, who was in charge of arranging for the appropriate doctors' visits and necessary tests. He visited me often during my hospitalization to inform us of the next steps to my care, alleviating fears and concerns, and answering our questions. I wanted to let you know of the situation that I had at the Physician Regional Hospital on Collier and hope that you are aware of the games the NURSING STAFF plays. My trip to the ER was unexpected, very fast and accommodating. However once the ER Physician (Dr. Brown) was done with his analysis, that lasted fewer than 5 minutes, there was a handoff to get you into the hospital and very long wait. As a result many in the ER we're waiting on medication from the admitting physician and the ER team cannot and will not provide any more medications no matter how bad you may hurt or need them. I had to wait almost 7 hours laying on a bed in the hallway while others waited almost 12 to 14 hours. This is not acceptable. My admitting physician, Dr. Weintraub was fantastic professional and well mannered. He is truly a pleasure to talk with and would not leave until you are satisfied. He listened to everything I said and when pointed out the irregular actions the NURSING STAFF played, he became very irritated and addressed the issues to them. There were several nurses that strived to provide excellent customer care. They are Nurse Debbie, Nurse Michelle and Nurse Ruby. All other members of the team were a joke and should be fired. Some of the nurses elected to administer medications "in their own fashion" and not the way the physician wanted. This caused issues as I had one medication that was given several different ways. Again not a good practice to follow. Food was above average. House keeping was nonexistent during my time staying at the hospital. The issue I have is the NURSING STAFF (Nurse Danielle and Nurse McNamera) played games with the patient. If they felt like helping you or bringing needed medications then everything was OK. BUT if you needed help, needed medicine or did anything that that did not like or want to do, then the NURSING STAFF would let you suffer and go without. They would lie to your face if you asked a question they did not like, tell you that they would do something and just go on their way without following up with the request. Distribution of medication for me was set at every 4 hours but I fast found that it was being brought between 4:45 and 5:30 min and lucky to get it then. Again unacceptable!!! I have caught them several times in a lie when asked a question. It is such a shame to be sick and the NURSING STAFF playing God to you and your health. That is not right. In addition to the majority of the NURSING STAFF, the CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE that takes the calls from the patient's for assistance or other issues, most of the time they would acknowledge what you want and then not tell the nurse. This caused a major issue when you need something or help. So basically the NURSING STAFF with the cooperation of the CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF made sure that very little work was actually done. Again this is bad for anyone seeking medical help. I met with the Director of Nursing to explain to him my findings and he was totally oblivious to what was going on in the Hospital. Changes and policy implementation start at the top. If it is wrong or does not work then he can hold the mirror up as the policy starts with senior management and works it's way down. I know there are other NURSES there that provide excellent care but the majority of the team is a JOKE. Knowing this might help temper which hospital you select as this one is way down on the recommendation list. The photo I took of my room was to be kept up all day and updated when something was done or if you got medication. As you can see, it was left blank with no names, phone numbers if you needed to call and ask for help , visit from various team members, etc. all was to be recorded. But as you can see, NOTHING. The patient care people? what a joke. they would open the door and yell in you good!!!! and occasionally bring in an ice water. One evening they gathered in the hall and just laughed and went on like it was a party. The nurse was even afraid to say anything. Seriously? You can't make this up. Communication was a ZERO. We were told in the am we were being discharged. Well the whole day went by with the same thing. More confusion on who said what. When we finally left we received an 85k bill. OK I get it ... We get 6 pain pills with a script that calls for up to 6 a day. what a joke. EVERYONE MUST BE A DRUG ADDICT. ready for this we called the hospital got the 3rd reception. She straight up disrespectful said go to the ER if your in pain. 85k and now you want more. then she hung up on us. I wish I could say it's over. SHAME ON THE PATIENT ADVOCATE AT THE HOSPITAL. You know who you are. pathetic to think you care for patients. She went on and on about everything being unexeptable. Said she would call the Doctor and handle everything and call us right back. Monday - fist day of vacation, my friends son who has autism and is non verbal hurt his baby toe and bone was showing. He was driven to the hospital by his parents and taken back to ER immediately. Staff was so amazing and eased everyone's stress - Dr. Togher was patient, kind, and just amazing. The staff worked so well together and the little guy was able to leave that day without being transferred an hour away. I can not that the staff enough and Dr. Togher for making it so comfortable for him. Thanks does not even cover it!!! read more

When a doctor and nurse leave a patient sobbing in pain and proceed to laugh about it, is makes you wonder what kind of god awful people are employed at this "hospital" and if this is a job requirement to be hired here. Answering service will get you frustrated right off the bat. God forbid that a patient must never be able to speak with his her doctors office directly. Thus far, in three years, after countless messages with fort hard Knox answering service have I ever got a phone call back from my primary doctors office and that was back in 2019. My advice is to keep on calling if anything is urgent because they will lie to you about messages relayed, most calls / messages aren't even documented, and have you literally crying for mercy. read more

The share services, billing and refund center are horrible. They have no clue what their process and procedures are therefore they tell patients anything they want to get them off the phone. I have been waiting nearing 4 months for them to process my insurance claim refund. Every time I log on to the bill/payment portal I have a different balance and there is no way to track the payments, credits, and refund that have been applied. They have applied credits one day then removed them the next and when I call I get someone new and when they tell you they will call back you never hear from them and when you call in and ask to speak with the person who told me they would call back they are never available.
