This Savers is huge. The store has a wide, open layout with plenty of racks to keep you browsing for a while. They offer more than just clothing--you'll also find a HomeGoods section, shoes, furniture, and more, which makes it easy to explore different areas in one trip. I appreciated that I could actually find a solid selection in my size. There was enough variety to mix and match, and I ended up putting together three different outfits for around $56 using one skirt and multiple tops. That felt like a win. They also run occasional sales, and if you donate a bag, you receive 20% off your purchase. When I visited, long-sleeve items were discounted, which made the deals even better. The only downside is that while they provide restrooms, they don't have dressing rooms. That makes trying on pieces a bit tricky. things i've noticed since my last review: upper management (im assuming the ones coming in that are directing lines who are not wearing the uniforms) can be kind of rude and off putting. i come here as a last resort thrift store when buying second hand things, and every time i try to ask them for help they talk to me as if they can't be bothered to help me :( however, the employees wearing the red vests are super kind and helpful, so i just ask them my questions instead! the prices at this savers have pretty much stayed the same. read more

Savers, usually I think you offer good finds every blue moon. That being said, I'm not a fan of your prices. They are way too high for a thrift store. Your prices often reflect the cost of the item like if it was in brand new condition. You are selling donated used items, so I don't understand why you are charging high prices? An example I can think of is a ok condition with some rust and missing volume knob Fender amplifier with a sticker price of $79.99 plus tax at your store. I can buy a brand new one of the same model at Guitar Center for $80.00 plus tax. How is this a bargain? Y'all need to be more realistic with your pricing practices. I give this Savers zero stars. Too bad it is close to my house and I enjoy thrifting. The prices are notoriously high; the entire valley knows that. The senior staff bark at customers and subordinates alike. You will know them by how disrespectful, short-tempered and exhausted they present themselves. They act like they can't get a job anywhere else so they're stuck working a low-paying job. Never go on the weekends because the lines are long and the senior staff will raise their voice and yell at you to wait your place in line. Go only on Tuesday for senior day when you get 30% off your full purchase. Remember, never on the weekends because the senior staff get easily overwhelmed by crowds. read more

I love thrift stores. I love getting bargains and I love helping the planet by purchases second-hand items instead of buying new things especially clothes. I had been going to the other location of Savers but wasn't super happy going there due to their inventory, atmosphere and long lines. So I ended up going to a different chain of thrift stores. Until recently we happened to drive by and saw this new location of Savers. We walked in and looked around. The two things that really stood out to me was the inventory and the self-checkout registers. John never lets me stay very long so sadly we left. But I have returned on my own a couple of times. And today I had such a great experience that I had to write a review. The two staff people that interacted with me were fantastic. They were super friendly and helpful--not just to me but to everyone around. (I even overheard one employee listen to a customer complain about his bunion and she was trying to help him find the right shoes!) The staff person was helping me at self-checkout and making sure I used my reward points and any coupons I might have. These two employees were definitely stand outs among my numerous trips to Savers. I wish I had their names. I hope Savers realize how lucky they are to have such great workers! I was also impressed that I was able to get so many items of clothes that fit me and were the style I like and had good brand names. I'm always looking for hiking clothes like Columbia and I'm almost always lucky to pick some up. Whoever is running this location is doing a wonderful job. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the prices. It's a thrift store--and most of your items came from donations. Come on, now. But I love this place! I think this is the newest of the Savers locations in the Bay - I could be wrong. It's located in a semi-large strip mall with restaurants and a Grocery Outlet. Parking isn't difficult to find. The size of this location is fairly large and everything is pretty well organized by type of clothing and sizes. During my visit, I was able to find a nice 80% wool coat for less than $20, as well as a $12 cardigan that feels soft and comfy (100% cotton). Being that it's sweater season those were the items I was eyeing. It was pretty packed when I went, with lots of carts in the aisles and people walking around. There are mirrors on almost every clothing aisle so you can try stuff on (though not in private). I feel like the least attractive section were the dresses - I've had better luck at other Savers for this category. They mostly had a summer selection still. Overall a solid Savers though it probably depends on when you go. I appreciated their large selection of coats and the self checkout was easy to navigate. read more

My issue is with one donation employee. Anthony. I encountered him twice in three days. He's rude and disrespectful. The first time I encountered him he walked up to the car looked at the full hatchback, rolled his eyes walked away and sort of threw a cart our way. Clearly, he was disgusted by having to help this job is beneath him. The second day we were there three gentlemen came out and helped us. They were kind they were nice. They were super cheerful and very helpful. The third day we were there. It was Anthony again. I had a piece of furniture that he would not accept and he would not clearly tell me why I said why won't you accept it? It says on the website you will he was several feet away from me not facing me and mumbled something and so I repeated my question and we played this game three times. None of the times that he answered was he anywhere close to me and by now he was clearly clearly irritated by my questions because I just kept repeating the same question because I could not understand his answer. He was not speaking to me again. This job is clearly beneath him. Customer Service is not his forte and I would suggest if you arrive and Anthony is the one to come help you just drive away and come back another time. He's not worth dealing with. I can't believe he still has his job the way he treats people. So one star from Anthony four stars for everybody else that was there excepting donations. read more

Visited this new location of Savers with my daughter this weekend. This location has plenty of parking in the lot just in front. This place is huge!! We only had a hour to browse, but will return soon. According the my daughter ( the thrifter ), this place has a good selection and she was able to find several items she liked. I was surprised by all the collections from coats to magazines, to furniture and even an entire section of collectable dolls. Great place to spend an afternoon in search of treasure. Also should mention lots of self check outs and no lines where we were there. read more

The General Manager Carmen fosters an atmosphere of over discriminatory and racist hiring practices. An individual was contacted via text to set up an interview for a part-time position. The text message was sent to the individual by his middle name which is racially ambiguous. The text messages went on for days as they coordinated schedule times for the call. When the female caller Laura answered joined the call she placed the young man on an extended hold, returned to the call and stated that the hiring manager was unavailable. He has been told numerous times as he follows up and attempts to make contact with the manager he is told that she is either in a meeting or at lunch. This young man is African American, 18 years old with 2 years of verifiable face to face customer service experience. He has completed 2 internships with local food banks, where he also successfully completed grant writing which led to financial awards for the organization. He attends a local community college and is part of a Humanities program which services another community based organization. Carmen doesn't have this information because once she heard his undeniably racially identifying voice she decided to enact her racial hate, bigotry and prejudice practices. This is not the first time with this manager, the exact same practice was implemented last year when this young man applied for the same part time position. Swung by to check out the newly opened Savers in Santa Clara, which is right next to Orenchi/Grocery outlet. The men's section is pretty small, I'm not sure if it's because they just opened but the racks were pretty bare with the selection. I hadn't been to a Savers in a long time so I was surprised to see self-checkout. Everything is well organized compared to most thrift stores which is nice, but I'm guessing this place is a little too new which explains the lack of clothing for men. Overall, well organized and maintained. Way more selection for women and children than anything else, but I'm hoping that changes in the near future. This would've been a 5 star review if I was actually able to find something to purchase. read more

I am an avid Savers shopper and have made it my personal goal to visit every Savers within an hour or so. The reviews for this Savers were not great, but I wanted to give it a shot anyway. There was ample parking and for this location the donation center is not directly out front, so you don't have to navigate that line. This is a big store and well stocked and the staff I spoke to were friendly. There were not as many staff on the floor restocking, which was very different from my normal Savers experience, so not sure what is happening there. The prices are a bit all over the map. The women's l/s knit blouses and sweaters I was looking at were overpriced, with the norms being around $12-$14. The pants were priced reasonable and the jeans were normal/average thrift pricing. (You just have to check the seams!!! lots of busted seams) Whoever is doing the purse pricing needs a bit of a reality check. They had a Kate Spade green laptop/tote priced at $99, which is close to what the site has them for new and I just paid $40 for the same one at Anastasia's. Some of the other name brands were priced at $79 and above which is an automatic no. There is a lot more I could go into, but I think you get the jest. I'm going to rate it a 4 despite the inconsistent pricing, as they really do have a great selection, store was clean, and the two employees I spoke to were nice. read more

Only 2 allow cash, which always had a long line. The cash line also accepted cards. Why? They can go in the card only, which never had a line. My coworker told me about this location. I grew up going to Savers near Valley Fair. This is a HUGE location, a ton of clothes to pick from. You can grab a baskets and start filling up. Minus one star because they don't have any changing rooms. You have to find a mirror and try the stuff on over your clothes. Try wearing a tank top if you can. They do allow for you to make returns within 14 days of purchase. I noticed that there is a bathroom. However you have to ask staff to let you in. If you donate clothes around the corner, you get a 20% off coupon for your next purchase. Wahoo! Saves is awesome! I now get their emails with more coupons after my purchase and adding my email to their list. Not even Goodwill gives out coupons. Thumbs up Savers! read more

The employees also appear to hate their jobs as no one greeted us, smiled or anything. Love that we have more Savers in the bay. Goodwill is mostly old work shirts and jeans you dont need. Savers however is still a lottery, get there at the right time and the golden ticket is yours. It's nice to know that there is still a chain for thrifting that won't let you down. I was super sad when Savers closed in Milpitas. Almost all were overpriced, very low quality Walmart-esque items, selling for the same or more than you could get them brand new. I have been soooo excited for this Savers to open, so that I don't have to make the trek to Almaden Expressway anymore, and as luck would have it, it opened the week I was out-of-town. In hindsight, I suppose this is good, since I've seen reviews that people that week were upset that they couldn't use their coupons. I'll preface this by saying that I was very happy with the selection in shoes, dresses, and outerwear, and that I will be back. Now, here's what had me absolutely gobsmacked: some of the pricing was way off base. ALL the Lululemon- whether old or newer styles- started at $30. Never have I ever seen that in the thrift! In addition to the photos I've included of items way overpriced, I came across a Loungefly wallet that they were asking $70 for, Coach bag for $130 (which made even less sense when the Coach shoes were priced at $15), Betsey Johnson bag for $70, and I was happy to find Patagonia, but it was priced at $20 for a fleece and $30 for a jacket. I've seen those both for less at Plato's Closet and that's a consignment store; these are raw donations! My strategy (because I did end up leaving with 20 items) was to use the 20% off coupons from my donations and over several transactions, so that I could benefit for each purchase up to $100. I appreciate the cleanliness of the store and how well organized the team does to keep it. It could just be for the kid and toddler clothing, but I've noticed that depending on the color of the week the bulk of that color is also organized on one side of the rack, which I really appreciate. I am though recently disappointed in the increase of the book prices. I'm a teacher and used to love browsing through the bookshelf's for books for my classroom and recently have noticed an increase in how they are priced. Few hardcover used to be listed as 250 and now they're all starting from 4 to 8 dollars. read more

The new female manager rudely greeted us as we walked in with "only one hour left to shop", no hello, no welcome. The atmosphere definitely has changed for the worse. We asked if we could see something in the glass case but we're abruptly told that the case NOW closes at 7 pm, an hour before closing, no signs indicated this. We were used to the prior friendly employees helping us after 7 pm to see items in the case, since we come after work and arrive around 7 pm. The demeanor of the current employees is not very friendly, many prior employees we knew are gone. We left feeling discouraged and feeling unpleasant about our experience. Prices are definitely high as well lately compared to the San Jose store. We used to enjoy donating and coming here, not so much now. read more

Savers is a clean, bright, well organized thrift store. Much nicer than any Goodwill or Salvation Army, with lots and lots of nice items, all clean and very well organized. They are not a non-profit like Goodwill or Salvation Army, but when you make donations at Savers, they "pay our nonprofit partners for your stuff, helping them fund programs in your community." But buyer beware: they do not allow returns. Period. They take exchanges if you have the receipt. The no-return policy is a problem since they have no dressing room. If you buy something that doesn't fit or is mismarked for size, you have to hope they have one in your size, or something else you want instead. Prices are ok but not always. For instance, I saw a 40 year old crockpot without a lid for $16, and other very old appliances. Nice store, nice goods, decent prices, but don't expect to return anything and keep your receipt. read more

First of all, unlike all of the Goodwills in Santa Clara County, Saver's on Lawrence Expressway had great lighting and is very clean and well organized. It is a very welcoming store and the parking is great!! All of the men & women on staff are extremely helpful and kind!!! These are some of the nicest people ever!! And as much as I absolutely love this store, I only shop when I have coupons or on the 30% off Senior Discount Tuesday......then the prices are pretty good with coupons. Also every Wednesday and the week following, a certain color tag goes for 50% off and that is GREAT! But I am also sure that the store pays a huge amount of rent & overhead, so maybe that's why the prices are high. I buy for our home, but I also buy for my Ebay business and in order to make a profit, I have to buy $low$ for inventory, so again, coupons are the way to go when shopping at Saver's. I've only gone to the donation drop off to this location. The guys there are very helpful with unloading. Only reason I giving it 4 starts is because they need to communicate more each other. I called beforehand to see if they had space for a donation and on the phone they said yes, but when I got there the guys said "NO" then they send me on a wild goose chase to a new savers that wasn't even open by Lawrence expressway . Kind of expensive prices or maybe im just used to thrift stores being cheaper. Jeans were like 20 and up. I've only ever gotten jeans under 20 as low as 6-10 dollars at Salvation Army. Not much of a selection but organized and clean. Employees are nice and helpful read more

Not reseller friendly . Prices are equal or higher than eBay prices . I've been going there since they opened months back and many of the same junk just sit there unsold . I literally memorized what's on the shelves from the lack of inventory released on shelves . Take your business to goodwill . At goodwill 90% of the time I walk out with a few items . At savers 90% of the time I walk out empty handed . Do better and stop being greedy . Also using google lens will only hurt your r business as the prices are heavily skewed . read more
