Nectarine Grove is my FAVORITE restaurant to eat at when I'm visiting friends in Solano Beach. I'm a DF/GF girlie and their menu is divine. I forgot to take pictures this trip of my meal but I got the Crispy Chicken Salad (no cranberries) and a Ginger Lemon Olipop. My friend got the Cali Club with fries. The employees here are always extremely friendly and accommodating and there's a huge outdoor seating area (with some indoor seating as well). Few items to be mindful of: this place gets PACKED on the weekends and parking is a nightmare so get there early if you're on a time crunch. They also only have one bathroom and when it's busy you'll have to wait in a line. Dog friendly outdoor seating (as is the norm for this area) and a very friendly community neighborhood feel. read more

This is our favorite place for brunch on the weekends. This is a laid back super dog friendly restaurant in Carlsbad. My hubby who is gf can literally eat anything off their menu and have it taste amazing! Just seeing his face when he eats a breakfast sandwich or Eggs Benedict is worth the wait ( which can some times be quite long!) This time I had Chicken and Waffles- coated with plantains and served with maple syrup, coleslaw, and a lovely honey mustard sauce to dip the chicken in. The chicken is HUGE pieces of white meat tenders that are crunchy and juicy. Waffles are light and tasty and grain free. The hubby had Eggs Benedict with prosciutto, hollandaise and gf English muffins. We shared a side of rosemary potatoes that were also yummy. The bakery items are equally great- we wanted a scone but they had sold out. Don't forget to try their coffee drinks of the day too, the one we tried was a cold brew with mint and ( maybe lavender?). Allergen Friendly/ 100% Gluten Free / Dairy Free Options / Nut Free Options I love Nectarine Grove for being one of the only places in San Diego for being 100% gluten free. It's an amazing feeling to be able to order anything off of their menu without the fear of being glutened. There's normally a long line to order, so I recommend ordering online. However, my only qualm is that some things are hit and miss. The California Burrito is the BEST thing to get here. It's flavorful, dairy free, and crave worthy, especially when gluten free burritos are hard to come by. However, I can't say the same with the breakfast burrito. It lacked salt, was greasy, and was falling apart as soon as I received it which was disappointing. There is plenty of seating available but it does get very busy if you come during the weekend, and parking is available on the street or near the tracks. read more

This is such a cute spot! There is plenty of outdoor patio seating with turf and umbrellas. There are limited indoor seating options, but there are options of high-tops v. half booth/chair options. The menu includes a variety of healthy beverages, coffee, hearty breakfast items, bakery, bowls, salads, and pizza. There is something for everyone! The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Heads up: there isn't much parking. You will have to park across the street or way by the beach and walk down. There is very limited street parking on busy days. read more

One of my favorite spots in Encinitas! The coffee, smoothies and pastries are my favorite. This trip I got the bluey smoothie and cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll is one of the best gluten free ones I've ever had and I love the massive frosting scoop on top! Definitely recommend trying. read more

It makes it difficult to eat here for me cause they like to use a lot of almonds (which I'm surprised) including almonds milk in dressings, and almond flour etc. I also wish they would include ingredients somewhere online or even when ordering. Another hidden and rare find. It is very hard to impress me with breakfast pastries and items. Most places just get their items from a third party, and these items nearly always taste like an afterthought. Not this place. As I asked the gentleman at the counter about the different muffins and croissants, I could tell by the level of detail that he was going into that these are not run of the mill breakfast items. I typically don't like over 95% of bakery items available at most breakfast or pasty places as they are typically way too sweet for me. I asked the gentleman his opinion, and he went into great detail (there was no one behind me). The ingredients are nearly all organic and locally sourced. I tried the pumpkin muffin, the chocolate banana muffin, and the chocolate croissant. These items were full of natural flavor and had very little added sugar. I can now see why the gentleman spoke with such enthusiasm. Too bad they are not located in Orange County, as I would end up here all the time. As I was leaving, a line started to form. I can definitely see why, and I look forward to my next visit to this rare find. read more

Why is eating healthy so hard sometimes? We came here for a late lunch, parking was tough. We squeezed in across the street in the dirt. My aunt had the boss burger, and said the burger Patty was fantastic. Great flavor, texture and was cooked well. The bread it was served on crumbled apart, so she had to eat it with a fork. I can vouch for the fries. They were almost shoestring, but perfectly cooked with a lot of tasty salt. I had the chicken and waffles. I intended to have a salad, but...they have chicken and waffles! They asked if I wanted butter, which threw me off, because, why wouldn't you??? The chicken was moist, cooked perfectly, and the waffles were *insert heavenly noise here* Maybe because I don't typically eat waffles, but I just had to eat them all. Even though I was full. They have a ton of seating outside, as well as inside. But it can get chilly in both places, as the doors were all wide open. Definitely bring a light jacket if you visit in the winter. I have been coming here for years and Nectarine Grove is my absolute favorite dedicated gluten free restaurant! My go to for lunch or dinner is their fajita bowl with crispy chicken, and their mozzarella sticks are absolutely divine as a treat. Staff is friendly and super knowledgeable about allergies and dietary concerns generally. The Leucadia location is such a cute little spot on the 101, and we love dining in or getting takeout here. My family and I love this place specifically because they have delicious food that someone with celiac and dairy restrictions can not only eat safely but that tastes great. The staff are great and it goes fast. I love to sit outside and I can't express how lovely and rare it is to find tasty gluten free (like actually) fare that understands food safety and preparation and the serious nature of food allergies. It's dog friendly, has great offerings and makes eating with allergens a much less stressful experience. I am obsessed with their chimmichurri sauce the fries and the baked goods. So good!! I live with celiac disease and finding a place I can eat everything is amazing. Especially when it tastes so good. I can't tell the difference anymore with how gluten free tastes compared to normal food, but I brought my non gluten free boyfriend with me and he agreed on the taste! It was a perfect portion for me for the price, but if you eat a lot of food it probably won't fill you up. Definitely recommend!!! Sunday morning brunch, quick line and straight-forward service. After ordering at the counter, we found an open table immediately and our food was out pretty promptly. Veggie bowl was generously portioned and delicious, especially with the hot sauces they had available. Finished every bite and felt very sated and satisfied. Fried chicken salad also very yummy, chicken was clearly freshly fried and had great crunch. Lava brownie was rich with satisfying nibs of chocolate throughout. Only ate half because we were so full and took the rest home. Great cup of coffee. Had a decaf americano because pregnancy and it totally hit the spot. We will be back! read more

[Parking]: Limited parking in their small entry plaza, there is a low amount of parking on the street, but extremely hard to secure a parking spot. I came out for a quick warm drink and ordered the spiced Mayan latte and the golden milk. The spiced Mayan latte was mild in flavor and the golden milk was not good, it tasted like soap. Luckily I read their receipt they handed me when I placed my order and it stated if I did not like my order to let them know. I came here for brunch last weekend with my girlfriend who has various food allergies and dietary restrictions. It was busy (line out the door) when we arrived, but the line moved fairly quickly. The staff member taking our order was considerate of the allergen questions and had a handbook for the ingredients for each item on the menu, which was much appreciated (vegan, Gluten free, Nut allergy, ETC.). I was a little shocked by the price for 2 burritos and 2 beverages at nearly $70 but I figured for the healthy ingredients and quality food I wouldn't be too upset. The only open table was honestly subpar, there are clearly a few nice spots to sit but when its busy good luck finding any space and a nice ambience. Then went and got my self serve water, which is disappointing considering the price, and waited for our coffees while listening to the baristas take turns making drinks and complain about how busy it is (not a great look). The butter latte was a solid 5/10 and matcha also a 5/10. Breakfast burrito is a solid 6.5 and california burrito 7. Good clean food presumably, but NOT FOR THE PRICE. Food 6/10 Service 6/10 Ambience 7/10 Overall, the whole vibe felt like a ploy, overall take your business elsewhere. read more

It was a teeny bit saltier than I expected but it was really good otherwise. Lots of cheese, lots of pesto, lots of onions and the gluten-free crust held well.
