A convenient Thai restaurant near SJSU with a wide variety of dishes to choose from! Great for groups who want plenty of options. My partner and I were craving Thai food and decided to come here on a Saturday night to check this spot out. Since this is in downtown San Jose, you will likely need to rely on parking lots or nearby street parking. The shop itself does not stand out much while driving, so keep an eye out to make sure you find the right spot. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side but has enough tables to seat around 20 people. When we first walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated right away. (There were two other parties there at the time.) The menu had loads of choices, including appetizers, curries, rice plates, noodle dishes, and desserts. Here are the items my partner and I got, along with our thoughts: * Khao soi with chicken: I have had Khao soi a handful of times, so I was really excited to try this version. They give you a lot of noodles here (an even amount of fried noodles and noodles in the broth). The broth itself was flavorful and bold, but I wish they had given a bit more so it could really soak into everything from top to bottom. The chicken was good but did not stand out compared to other Khao soi dishes I have had. * Honey grilled pork: This was delicious, salty (it would pair really well with rice), and flavorful. They were very generous with the meat portion, and it was tender. It was served with veggies on the side, which helped balance out the saltiness of the pork. This reminded me a lot of a Vietnamese lemongrass pork chop. * Banana roti dessert with condensed milk: This was the best bite of the night. My partner described it as an Asian-style crepe with banana pudding flavoring. It was not too sweet and really wrapped up our meal well. This is a great choice for college students looking for a good meal. Thank you for the attentive service throughout the night, we really appreciated it!

We were in San Jose downtown and chanced upon this place. We were excited to try it out. The waitress recommended Southern Thai style stir fried yellow noodles. We ordered that with shrimp. The dish was a bit unique, but it was on the sweeter side for me. Red curry with tofu was good. Best of all the items we ordered was the Sticky Rice with Mango. It was amazing. It was perfectly sweet with coconut milk.

This place was like the only one open on Christmas Day after 9pm near San Jose Diridon. It saved us that night from going hungry (thank you)! We tried a few different things: papaya salad, khao soi, tom yum noodle soup, & the pad thai. I went with my sister & brother-in-law who have spent a lot of time in Thailand and they were unfortunately not too impressed. The pad thai was probably the best thing we had (good for your typical customer, but not for us). The papaya salad wasn't fishy enough haha. The khao soi had rice noodles instead of egg noodles, and didn't have much too it besides the noodles (like no sides/garnishes). The tom yum noodles were also bland and didn't have much included. Overall....the dishes weren't bad, but they didn't have the flavors and colors we were expecting, and presentation was lacking. (Two things that make Thai food special!!) It was also unfortunately very cold inside....but our server was a really nice girl and inside was cute & clean. We probably won't be back since we don't live in the area, but it's a cute local place to come for some basic Thai food.

So lucky to chance upon this Thai spot. Food was fresh and flavorful. Spices packed a punch and the ingredients were fresh. Can't wait to go thru the menu. I've gotten a few items this far and it's been consistently amazing!

Location: If you're near San Jose State University and craving authentic Thai food, Neeya Thai Kitchen at 273 E San Fernando Street is worth checking out. It's conveniently located just off San Fernando St, directly across from SJSU. Perfect for students, faculty, or anyone in the downtown area looking for a quick, flavorful meal. Vibe: The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, with simple but nice Thai-inspired decor that feels homey without being over-the-top. Think warm lighting, a few traditional touches on the walls, and a clean, modern vibe that's great for casual dine-in or grabbing takeout. Sitting is limited to 5 tables, so come early or order to go. Service: Service was friendly and attentive. The staff was quick to take our order, offered spice-level recommendations, and checked in appropriately without being a helicopter. Food: We ordered a few classics to test the waters, and spice levels are customizable on most dishes (Mild Medium Spicy Thai Spicy). * Papaya salad (Som Tum) Thai spicy: This was a highlight! We went full "Thai spicy" (their highest adjustable level), and it delivered real, authentic heat, fresh, crunchy green papaya with that perfect sour-spicy-salty-sweet punch from lime, fish sauce, dried shrimp, and chilies. The heat builds gradually and lingers, so if you're sensitive, stick to Spicy or Medium. Thai spicy here is legit (think mouth-tingling, top of the skull-sweating level)This is perfect if you love fiery som tum like in Thailand! * Pad Thai with chicken: Generous portion, well-balanced tamarind sauce, chewy rice noodles, and tender chicken. We got it at Medium spice, which added a nice subtle kick without overpowering the classic sweet-savory notes. Medium is usually a safe, flavorful sweet spot for most people, enough warmth to feel Thai but not overwhelming. * Honey Grilled Pork: My Fav. Tender grilled pork marinated with honey, garlic, cilantro, and black pepper. Perfectly caramelized edges with that subtle sweet-savory glaze, juicy inside, and smoky char from the grill. It comes with spicy tamarind sauce (Jaew sauce) on the side for dipping, plus fresh veggies and sticky rice (included). Seriously addictive--I'll be ordering this every time! * For dessert, banana roti - Crispy, buttery flatbread stuffed with fresh banana slices, drizzled with condensed milk (and maybe chocolate). No spice here--just pure indulgent sweetness to cool down after the savory dishes. Drinks: We also got Thai iced tea, which was strong, creamy, perfectly sweetened, and refreshing. hit the spot on a warm day (and naturally non-spicy to balance things out). Overall: The food felt fresh and homemade. Spice-wise, Neeya doesn't hold back on authenticity and the "Thai spicy" option is genuinely hot. I'd definitely return for more and maybe to try their mango sticky rice or curries next time.

    Mango Sticky Rice

We originally came for their Mango Sticky Rice and was dissatisfied about the long wait, the portion size and sour mango so I made a 1 star review. However, almost immediately the next day I was reached by Neeya to apologize about the order and wanting to make it up to us. We came back today around the same time but we called ahead to avoid the wait. We ordered a Beef Pad Thai for the exchange as mentioned in the conversation, this time the order was made very fast. Neeya and their team also apologized again in person, they were very nice and welcoming, the exchange was lovely and quick. The Beef Pad Thai is a good size portion, my hubby and I shared but we still have leftovers, flavor and taste is spot on for me since I didn't need more fish sauce or chili. Great job Neeya !! - You'll definitely see us more often. Thank you so much !!

The food was delicious! And the service was fast. Great place to try Thai food. We even got free tote bags, super cute.

    Pork larb and sticky rice

Found this restaurant while searching for a good Thai place since there aren't really any Lao ones. I got pork larb (Thai spicy because if it doesn't burn you're not doing it right) and some sticky rice. First I must say the service is amazing. They kept checking in to make sure everything was going well. Also they gave me more peppers when I said it wasn't spicy enough. The larb itself tasted a little bland for me but was still good and the sticky rice was cooked well. I will most likely revisit and try something else.

Paid 25 dollars for a half filled container of curry. Not coming here again the old place was 15 dollars for a container filled with curry. I asked for a medium the thing is spicy ass he'll lacking any beef or flavor.

    Roti

If you are craving for authentic Thai food. You MUST try this place!!! This Thai place was opened recently and we gave it a try! The food was really good and delicious. Their crab fried rice was legit and their shrimp is a must try!! Their Thai tea was very rich and the mango sticky rice was perfect for dessert. Service was really good and the owner is a very nice person. The restaurant was newly renovated and it's very comfy. Price is reasonable given that it's in downtown San Jose near SJSU. Highly recommended.

They let us sit there outside uninterrupted until we were done (and we are SO SO SOOOOO sorry, we were there until 3PM). We had NO IDEA they close at 2PM until dinner time! We were very apologetic on the way out the door but they were saying it was fine. SIGH... No its not fine, I would have expected them tell us they are closing soon and maybe have us take our food order to go. Or closed out our bill and say they need to close to get ready for dinner... My son and I had a great dining experience. Thank you for everything and we have now NOTED your business hours. :D
