Thai noodles

The five stars this time were for the shitake mushroom and soy-clam mash. The spicy one with the red oil in it is the right one. It is similar to the orange sauce at La Victoria in that it makes everything else taste screamingly good. The restaurant served it in a chilled bottle, but I found out later that eating it chilled wasn't the best thing to do. To unlock its full potential, I had to take it home first, to sear it in a hot skillet, to the point where it caramelized and stuck to the bottom. This lifted the already addictive flavors into even higher orbit, like how it works with sizzling black bean sauce with scallions for Dungeness crab or Pacific rockfish. There was something else in the mash which made it special, but it could have been scallops, or dried shrimp maybe, or crab. The three look similar when mashed up.

Food is mediocre at best. With so many great options in downtown i wouldn't recommend going here. Service is pretty good because you will be the only one in the shop. And I like the funky ambiance. Value isnt great portions are small. I have had it twice to give this place a fair chance probably wont be returning

Nice little place with noodles and dish options. It's near the SJ city hall and has an artistic interior. The owner and staff were really interactive and friendly. The lady told me they just opened on the 2nd and there are 3 $6 coupons if you order through their app. There are also self-kiosks and a self-serving area for tissues and utensils. I asked for spicy recommendations which led me to order the beef noodles. There are many seats and you can sit anywhere after ordering. The order came pretty fast and they gave me some free sides(spring rolls and cheese wontons) while I was eating. Those were crispy and good. The beef noodles were mildly spicy and had a nice umami flavor that was light but flavorful. The beef was really tender and there's also bok choy in it. I'll probably go back and try the other items.

Yay!! New restaurant in downtown SJ! Great little place with very friendly and welcoming staff. Has a quirky vibe but it's very clean and well organized. I went with coworkers for a quick lunch. The owner and staff were excited to see us and helped us with ordering from the menu. They gave us free drinks while we waited, which was very nice. The drinks were tasty and refreshing. Our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the cucumber salad, tofu and mushroom, Pho, and popcorn chicken. We all enjoyed the flavor, freshness and presentation. I loved how delicious the Tofu and Mushroom dish was and it was served in a mason jar. We will definitely come back to try more! They have a promotion that gives you a $6 discount for 3 visits ($18 total).

Store being closed

I've been here multiple times and every single time it's been closed. However, it seems like you can order it on Uber and the website. I don't know how you would pick it up though.

My beef noodle soup had no taste at all even after I added a lot of chili sauce. The noodle was under cooked and it was not hot when it was served. What a shock! The place is definitely nice and the server was friendly.

This is one of the new kids in downtown SJ so we wanted to go check them out. I'm a huge noodle soup girl so I was excited to see a new noodle spot open up downtown. The woman working was so excited to see us walk in and was so sweet and welcoming. We were sadly the only ones there. We ordered and paid for our food through the self service station. When your food is ready it's brought to your table. We ordered 2 noodle soup dishes: the spiced Laksa and the savory Beijing beef noodle, chicken wings and the golden cheese wontons. We sat at the bar top at the front of the restaurant facing Santa Clara St. It was perfect! The food was delicious! The woman serving us was very nice. I'm so glad that we have a good noodle spot downtown now!

Was finally able to try this little noodle spot out and was pleasantly surprised. Nice ambiance with even better soup. The broth for the spiced laska soup was delicious. Noodles were the right texture and the shrimp and mussels were perfectly cooked. My co worker had the vegetable noodle soup and she too was raving about it. I look forward to going back and trying the other options

Beijing Beef Noodle Soup

They were kind enough to separate the tofu bc of an allergy, the Laksa Noodles are very creamy and filling and the Bejing Beef Noodles were light and the noodles soak a lot of flavor from the soup. The portions are bigger than I expected for the price and very affordable (I could barely finish my bowl). The owner is very kind and accommodating, she alway made sure we were ok and very polite. The inside is very aesthetically pleasing and they have a cute window seat to chill and snack as well.

What I LOVE from SJ Eggrolls is the garlic noodles with the garlic butter shrimp. IT SO DELICIOUS! One of the best garlic noodles I've ever had and the shrimp was tasty. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and the shell was soft to eat. Another item I love here is the banh khot! So crispy, fresh, and fried well. Very limited seating, this is more of a take out spot. Food is fresh to made, it took about 20-30 mins for all our food.

I was especially hoping the spring rolls would be similar to the ones I love from Brodard in Southern California, so I came in with my fingers crossed. They have some nice combo deals, but I wanted to sample a few different items instead. I ordered one of each of the fried egg rolls (only $2 each) and originally ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls. While I was waiting, I changed my mind and decided I wanted to try the Nem Nuong rolls instead. They were incredibly nice and changed my order without any issues, which I really appreciated. The place was extremely busy, so I ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. The net-wrapped egg roll was excellent, super crispy with great flavor. Just be sure to eat it over a plate or with a bag underneath because those crunchy flakes go everywhere! The regular egg roll was slimmer than I expected, but it was also very tasty. The Nem Nuong rolls were good too. They didn't quite reach the level I was hoping for compared to Brodard, but they were still very enjoyable. The house dipping sauce was delicious and really complemented the rolls. They also include a small container of hot sauce for anyone who likes a little spice. I tried it, but honestly preferred sticking with the house sauce. The restaurant itself is small and simple, with only about three tables, so it seems like it's geared more toward takeout, which was obvious from the steady stream of takeout orders while I was there. Next time, I'll probably call my order in ahead of time to save some waiting. Overall, a great spot for Vietnamese appetizers at reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu.

The Bun Cha Ha Noi is fantastic. The pork belly was grilled perfectly, and it came with a huge assortment of veggies, a big bowl of sauce, and a good amount of rice paper. I loved being able to easily dunk everything into the sauce. Even the small portion was enough for 2 people. The Banh Mi Chao Bo Luc Lac was just okay. I liked that the pate was warmed up with the rest of the dish, and the beef cubes were well seasoned, but they could have been more tender. We also got the fried chicken wings in garlic fish sauce. The flavor on the outside was great, but the breading was a bit dense and the inside needed more flavor. The service was great and they checked on us several times. Despite it being in a big lot, parking still took a while to find. Thankfully, we had thankfully just beat the lunch rush and not had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. My friend and I shared a Northern spread (Bun Cha Ha Noi) and a Southern style Goat Curry (Banh Mi Cari De). Service was definitely on the slower side that day, but thankfully we were proactive at getting the orders in. The Bun Cha Ha Noi was delicious - pretty much a DIY spring roll - all the fun, all the mess, with none of the clean up other than licking the plates clean. The pork belly was delicious; I was surprised how much I liked it, since I'm not a fan of pork. I devoured numerous rolls, and we also had some extra vermicelli to finish off the rest of the protein. This single meal was definitely more than enough for two! The Banh Mi Cari De (goat curry) was unfortunately quite the opposite. The goat was cooked very well - tough, gamy, and difficult to eat. There were probably six pieces in total, our first was tender, our second had bone, a little harder to chew, and the last was best compared to rubber. The curry was a bit watery, which made the banh mi soggy when dipped in. This was probably an adventurous try, but not a dish I'd ever consider ordering again.
