just recently bought a few pies for a party and I have to say, this was the worse pizza i've had in a REALLY long time. I'm not a picky eater and this was pretty bad. The crust was terrible, tasted like frozen pre-rolled dough...similar to pizza in the frozen food section of the supermarket. Sauce wasn't great either. We are new to town and ordered takeout from Neil's based on the above-average reviews on Yelp. Coming from a foodie-town with a multitude of restaurants that rival any NYC establishment, I have to say that both me and my three other dinner companions were sorely disappointed. Neil's is a slap in the face to true Italian cuisine. Granted none of us tried the pizza which is what they appear to be known for, but the pasta dishes were quite bland and the sauce truly tasted like Chef Boyardee. This is your average dime-a-dozen pizzeria in North Jersey. The best thing this place has is the sicilian martguerita pie. This pie is quite good, but it requires a large party of people if you want to finish it. That sucker is heavy! Other than that, none of their other pizza impressed me, some was even down right bad - something about their sauce if off I think. Most of their slices taste like they've been sitting out a while, which is typical of pizza places, but it shouldn't actually taste that way once it's reheated. The service here is OK, they are attentive when it comes to taking orders but it's always packed and they take a long time to actually fill your orders. 2nd time there. Bad experiance both times. Ordered a slice of pizza to go, waited right in front of the guy, other customers came and went then when asked it was sitting on counter. I have been getting pizza here for YEARS....literally it's been over a decade! (makes me feel old, LOL). But honestly, the quality of food, freshness, service.....is the best I know in town. Wayne is huge obviously with lots of options, but throughout my life this has always been a staple for me. I remember years ago (and it's still true now), coming in and drooling over the wide variety of pies available for slices during lunch. At first, they acknowledged the wrong order and told me I would receive the correct order in 25 min, then they called back and told me they will not honor it since the pizza that was delivered in error was half eaten. Pizza is above average. However their chicken vodka slices are a 10! Their entrees are a 6 out of 10. If you are looking for pizza, wings, and subs, this is a good place. If you are looking for entrees there are pizza joints in the area that do it better. read more

If this review was based on food alone, I would give it 4 stars. The sub sandwiches are great, and i havent had a bad slice yetd and prices are fair. I have come here often, until I was here with an Italian friend who warned me that the 3 brothers were badmouthing me in Italian. From then on, I got my pizzas from the gas station across the street instead when in the area. Theyre not as yummy as neils pizza, but the people sure are friendlier. Also, loud places dont bother me, but this place is near a school, so it does get a little loud when school is out. read more

Waited over two hours for ONE pie. Every time I called I was told that it was in its way...it wasn't. I called to cancel my order and they made me wait to speak to a manager who told me it was busy. Busy I understand, but isn't the whole point of a business being busy to deliver and tend to customers? Needless to say I was told they would send me the pizza for free, my card was not refunded. I honestly didn't even want it at this point but figured they were trying to make it right. I asked if the pizza would be cold when i got they said no that they would make it new. The pizza came...it was burnt and chewy as if re-heated. I usually don't complain, I worked as a manager of a food store for over 12 years and understand that customers can sometimes be a pain in the butt or try to get over on businesses; however, I felt overall the situation wasn't handled properly, the product sucked, I was lied to numerous times by staff and management and I still paid for crappy pizza that was delivered two hours after I ordered it. Definitely the best pizza place in Wayne. They're specialty slices are the best (I recommend the chicken vodka). Out of the other pizza places in Wayne, they're certainly the most consistent.
