This was just okay. I was optimistic by the appearance of the restaurant. The restaurant was newer,…read moreup to date, and clean. We were the only people in the restaurant at dinner time which was a little concerning. The fried green tomatoes were good with their house sauce. My shrimp and cheese grits were good, but just good. The house sauce was put in the bowl, but in my opinion it ruined the simple cheese grits and shrimp. Honestly, less is more. This bowl had a lot of the house dipping sauce, cheddar cheese and goat/feta like cheese, green onions, and bacon. The shrimp was good. I got the Petite bowl and it came with 5 shrimp and 4 hushpuppies. The hushpuppies were just okay. Not much flavor. Would have liked the dipping house sauce on the side of that rather than poured in my got bowl. My boyfriend got the tacos and they were huge! The tacos were pretty good! No complaints there. He got hushpuppies too and got a side of the house sauce. Overall, I think I'd rather try another local restaurant next time.

The guy at the register was friendly, answered all our questions with a smile and knew all the answers, like sauce info, portion sizes, etc. we ordered the Loaded Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer. I could have had these for my entree and be happy, they were so delicious! The perfect combination of tanginess from the tomatoes with the Wharf sauce, feta cheese, bacon, and chives. I was a little bummed that they did not have enough grits for a grits bowl, just enough for a couple of sides, so I changed my mind to the Honey Pecan Shrimp (fried) and I am glad I did. Spouse got the Wharf Shrimp (grilled). The shrimp and hush puppies were really great tasting! The grits were okay, but needed a little salt. The cashier at the register was also the person bussing tables, and he was serving food, and was the bartender as well. He was staying busy! The inside is decorated nicely and was clean.

We stopped here years ago and hoped the food was still the same. It might even be better than…read morebefore. We started with a bowl of gumbo. It was loaded with little bites of sausages, chicken, shrimp, and scallops. All those proteins were nestled with just the right amount of spices in a rich broth with onions and tomatoes. A nice helping of rice topped off the dish nicely. We shared the grilled catfish fillets. You have an option of one, two, or three fillets. We opted for three for only $21. The filets were good size and nicely grilled with a bit of blackening seasoning. The meal came with a single trip to the salad bar and a side. The salad bar has several options of pasta salads, chopped lettuce with toppings, and a sweet slaw. We chose the blackened new potatoes as our other side. We thought that they were really good. Bread options included: hush puppies, cheese, bread, or yeast rolls. The hush puppies were a little overdone. So we were able to get an order of the cheese bread. Which is large yeast rolls with cheddar cheese, baked in the top. They were really good. The servers are friendly and never seemed to stop moving. The seating is basic older restaurant booths and tables which are comfortable. They offer interesting sayings at each table such as... "I'm not saying it's your fault. I said I'm blaming you." They have a full bar and lounge. Side note-the parking lot is huge and has plenty of room for vehicles towing trailers.

Outstanding service and huge portions of yummy food. Highly recommend for a quiet dinner or family…read moreget together!

We were…read moregreeted by Shelly, who was also our waitress, and her customer service was amazing--super attentive and detail-oriented without being overbearing. We started with a lemon drop martini, which was fantastic. Then came the Hot Crab Dip... and wow. Hands down the BEST crab dip I've ever had. Big, perfectly seasoned chunks of crab with a rich, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture--absolutely worth the hype. The Cajun deviled eggs were just okay flavor-wise, but the presentation was beautiful. For our mains, we tried the blackened redfish special topped with crawfish sauce over potatoes--so flavorful--and a basket of fried oysters with fries. The fries were fresh, thick-cut potatoes fried to perfection, which I always appreciate. For dessert, we had the bread pudding with banana rum, and OMG... so delicious. We also tried the beignets--definitely recommend eating those fresh and hot instead of taking them to go. They also offer brunch, so I'll definitely be back to try more. Highly recommend--this place is a must-try if you're in the area!
