I would probably get a different manicure color next time, though. This was my first French tip manicure and the tips seem very deep. I bought the $60 Groupon for my girlfriend and me. We came in on a Saturday at 11:00. We were the only two customers in the salon. It is advertised as using "hot stones, and a foot massage, among other features of the "spa package." Instead, they put our feet in some lukewarm water, and proceeded to work on them for under 10 minutes. Then they just sat there in near silence (muttering in Vietnamese occasionally). They did not give foot massages, or anything else. They trimmed the nails for about 30 seconds, filed them for another 30 seconds, then sat and did nothing for the rest of the time. I not only could have done the same thing at home, but I could have done a better job. This was a COMPLETE waste of time and money. Please, take your business elsewhere because these people are either complete amateurs, lazy, or they are swindlers and unethical business owners. I received excellent service on a deluxe pedicure for a very affordable price. The nail technician is friendly and service oriented. Their massage chairs are awesome! Keep in mind that there may not be parking within the block and allot time for that :) The pedicure was meticulous. Wendy made me a cup of coffee and was great conversation during the hour-long treatment. The only suggestion I have is for the salon to change their advertisement of performing reflexology massage. It may be misleading, as traditional reflexology massage can have some serious positive health benefits on the body, and takes a lot of training to become properly educated in. Some of the reviewers mentioned this concern as well and it would benefit the business to advertise exactly what they can offer, which is a stellar pedicure accompanied by some wonderful salt/mask treatments and a relaxing foot rub! Called and got appointment today - very prompt response. It said "closed" on Yelp but it is indeed open on Monday's. My feet was aching from long walk and getting calloused so I decided to try it out. I was worried about outfit as I had skinny jeans and boots, but I was even given a white skirt-towel to wear so it was comfortable. It is nice option to have liquor while getting pampered, but I don't drink alcohol so it was nice to just have glass of water. Appointment lasted about 45 minutes, first 20 spent on applying sugar scrub and mint clay cream wrapped in warm towel, which gave my feet a tingling sensation for an hour. Even had my about-to-be-hang-nail taken out, which was difficult to reach on my own, or I always cut too deeply to get at it. Nail polish had no air bubble or missing parts. Amazing experience for a great price. My cousin and I stumbled in on Monday which is typically an appointment only day, however the woman who helped us was more than happy to take us as walk ins. We had two hot stone pedicures which were wonderful in a massage chair! She helped me remove my chipping gel finger nail polish free of charge. I used a Groupon credit to get a deluxe hot stone pedicure. Wendy was running late, but called to let me know. I wasn't in a rush luckily, so I was ok waiting. She was really sweet and had a routine down for sure. I had a difficult time getting relaxed though, for it all went kind of fast. I am pretty ticklish when people massage me to fast, but she was attentive and listening to what was comfortable for me. It was ok, but too much lotion for me. I was worried that it wasn't going to be wiped off at first, but was happy when the hot towels came out to clean it off. She was very good at the clean up. I prefer minimal lotion so the massage can be deeper and more attentive, not just routine. I felt like the massage here was a little rushed and "routine". I don't get many pedicures, to be fair, and the few that I've gotten made you buy your own little kit for cleanliness reasons. It hadn't occurred to me until after that that didn't happen here, so I do hope that the stone and tools being used were cleaned and/or sterilized well. Wendy overall has a wonderful disposition and is very friendly and a really nice person. I just am not sure this kind of pedicure was for me. I like a little bit of a slower pace where it takes close to an hour for the pedicure. So, overall it was ok for the price and experience. I did like Wendy. This salon has spoiled me for other salons. I first found them through Groupon but the service I wanted to purchase didn't have any groupons left so I called and they told me to just come in and they would honor the Groupon price. I then learned that they only get 50% of what you pay on Groupon. My experience has always been about the same. Wendy and Daniel are so thoughtful and sweet. They put a lot of effort into ensuring every customer is relaxed and feeling special. What I really love is they actually talk to you! Most nail salons like to churn and burn through clientele and most of the techs in other salons will only speak amongst themselves in Vietnamese in a way that sounds suspiciously like they are gossiping about me. Not so with Wendy and Daniel! They have a very cool story and are funny and sweet. My service is always top notch.. Daniel gives the best foot rubs and they use really nice products! I don't ever feel rushed. They do get very busy and they have limited techs so if you have to be in at a certain time or you want to come in with a friend I recommend making an appointment so they can make sure to get you in. They do accept walkins if they aren't too busy though! If you want a more intimate spa setting combined with a great and very thorough service then go to neo pinot! I don't recommend this place at all. My mom and I had purchased $35 Amazon Local certificates for a $70 service - the hot stone pedicure. I was excited. We walked in for our appointments right on time and they seemed surprised that we were there. There was only one woman working and both of us had scheduled concurrent pedicures. The receptionist guy gave me mine and he had no clue what he was doing - the lady doing my mom's was watching him like a hawk and kept telling him what to do. He had the hardest time just trying to take off the residual polish that was still on my toes. He placed scalding hot towels on my legs and the woman had to show him how to cool them off before burning the me... yeah, it's not hard to wave them in the air a bit. Then, he painted my toes before the massage. What? The "massage" was basically lightly running hot stones over my legs and a little on my feet. Sad times. Plus, the polish was wet so, uh, I didn't get a foot massage. I felt robbed for the $35 I did spend, and will definitely be back to my tried-and-true next time. I have never written a review like this, but yikes! Aside from the poor experience, the place is kind of dirty, and the ceiling is falling apart. It was really cold in there. Definitely not relaxing. I arrived to find only one woman working this place that looked like a cross between a hair salon, a wine shop and a nail salon. It was the uncanny valley for sure. The woman didn't even ask my name or give me her's. She did do an OK pedicure except for the fact that she answered the phone and booked 4 other appointments while she was working on my feet. She never said excuse me, or I'm sorry. Then, half way through, without explanation, a man came in and started the massage portion of the service. This was $30 for a Groupon for a service that supposedly was $60 value but really was a $20 value. Very disapponting. I purchased a groupon deal for relmflexology and a glass of wine. I was so looking forward to try this new spa. I've had reflexology treatment in the past, this was definitely not reflexology. At best it was a weak leg massage with a bit of a foot rub. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes, half the time the technician spent cleaning other tubs after other clients left. I'm pretty easy to please but I can't say I would recommend this location. A sweet, adorable couple own this salon. They give you the prime treatment. They remembered me even after I had only been a few times! So kind, so attentive, meticulous. My french pedicure is beautiful and lasts for over two weeks without chipping. The hot stone massages add such a nice element. Professional. Clean. Classy. I'm not sure what other people's problems are, but our experience was great. Easily called and made appointments for me and my mom to get hot stone pedicures with a glass of wine. Honestly, having the add-on of wine was part of why I thought this would be nice. Most places don't have that option. Friendly greeting when we arrived. They got the foot spa going and of course asked about the temperature. Then they handed the controls for the very nice massage chairs and asked us which wine we'd prefer and promptly brought it out. After a good soak Daniel and Wendy went to work. They were friendly and professional. They scraped, mud masked, scrubbed, then did the hot towel treatment. After relaxing with that they did the hot stone massage with lotion and then oil. We were there for about an hour total, including a 20 minute massage. I was so pleased that I bought a special deal to return in the next year. Planning on maybe upgrading next time to get polish and manicures. My experience here, with customers, and reviews leads me to believe that some of these people are their own worst enemies. Not really buying what some of these people claim. The scrub was by far my favorite part of the pedicure, with a nice tingly sensation followed by hot steamed towels. The hot stone foot massage was nice, although I'm always hoping that the "pedicurist" will dig a little deeper. The building was a little cold, but it was a cold day overall. Online booking is non-responsive nor do they follow their own policies of calling you if their is a scheduling a conflict with the date and/or time selected and if you call and get a young man he is so FULL OF HIMSELF he is UNABLE to be professional. SERIOUSLY there are numerous nice, considerate, professionals out there to choose from WHY WOULD ANYONE GO TO A SALON WHERE PEOPLE ARE RUDE? I will update this review if I ever get an appointment or a return phone call as to the quality of their service but at this point I am ready to get my refund AND RUN! Wendy the owner called and apologized for the fellow & I made the appointment for Thursday July 24th at 5:30 pm with her (not that evil tongued man). Looking better : ) July 24th 2014: 5:00 pm the shop is closed? Huh? Lunch/coffee break (possible)...No note on the door just the shop hours "Open till 7:00 pm" so I waited outside till 5:15 and no one had returned to the shop so I called the owner Wendy on her cell phone & left a message asking where everyone was? I waited another fifteen minutes now it is 5:30 pm and rush-hour traffic in Downtown Portland and I am fuming as I now get to sit in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour after being dissed by this establishment. Wendy finally calls me back to say my appointment was at 4:30 and I missed it. I inform her that was impossible since I work until 4:30 pm everyday & I had to drive crosstown & find parking which is why I gave myself an hour (i.e. 5:30). I also asked her why no one was at the shop on a busy Thursday evening since they don't close till 7:00? She responded by not answering the question and stating that "since you missed your appointment we all left at 5:15 pm". Well I was sitting on the stoop in front of her shop with my daughter at 5:00 pm & left her the message at 5:15 pm so she BLATANTLY LIED to me and continued over and over during our conversation to not accept any responsibility for the business missing my appointment and then closing early (if the shop was even open at all that day as she doesn't seem very motivated to work or keep customers-so who really knows). I HAVE NO COMMENT ON THEIR SERVICES OR ABILITIES AS A NAIL TECHNICIAN(S) BUT THE BUSINESS OWNER, WENDY, IS IRRESPONSIBLE AND VERY DISRESPECTFUL TO CUSTOMERS. SERIOUSLY!!!!!There are literally hundreds of places to get a pedicure in and around Portland so save yourself the headache and go to a business who values customer service. My friend and I went to get delux pedicure and as soon as we mentioned groupon the atmosphere changed immediately. We did not get full 60 min as advertised and just 35 min of quick foot wash and quick polish . As far as massage goes I did not get one and even the callus was not treated properly. Went here tonight for the first time to redeem my very first Groupon -- one for a hot stone pedicure. I was a bit surprised at first to find that it was more of a nail salon instead of a spa, but frankly that was my fault for not doing a bit more research first. I cannot imagine anyone saying it's dirty or disgusting -- unless, of course, they've only been to the bright neon cookie cutter salons found in strip malls filled with teenagers where you get a pedicure for 12 dollars. No, this place has character. There was soft, relaxing music playing and the owner, Wendy, couldn't be nicer or more welcoming. I settled in with my feet in the swirling whirlpool while she finished with her other clients. I sipped on a glass of champagne while reading my book and enjoying the soothing music and pedicure. Wendy did a fantastic job -- the hot stone massage with oil was DIVINE. And I loved the peppermint leg scrub and hot towels! We had a pleasant conversation, but she was also very respectful and let me enjoy some long overdue reading time as well. It was a perfect mix. When she was done, I didn't feel rushed at all and was able to peacefully finish my champagne and the chapter of my book. It was about as perfect as a pedicure can get and for the price it's an absolute steal. Besides, you get to support a local business and woman entrepreneur. What's not to love?
