I recently had a full HVAC replacement done and worked with Mark for the installation. The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. After getting a few estimates, I decided to move forward with Mark for the job. My old system had a refrigerant leak in the evaporator coil and it wasn't worth repairing anymore. Mark walked me through the the different options clearly and made recommendations. We decided to replace our system entirely with a Trane heat pump setup. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand without any pressure. What really stood out is that he went above and beyond during the installation. He sealed the cavity below the indoor unit and installed insulated reflective panels around the area to improve efficiency and airflow. He also replaced the threshold in my utility closet with sheet metal to properly finish the space and make everything look clean and professional. Another thing I appreciated was how careful he was inside the house. He wore shoe covers while working indoors and laid out mats from our door to the work area and was very respectful of our home. The installation included the new outdoor heat pump, air handler, coil, electrical disconnect, and proper commissioning. He made sure the airflow was set correctly and scheduled a HERS verification so the system meets California energy standards. The system is running great and the house is comfortable again. On Saturday, my heater was not working. I used Yelped "projects" to get quotes for someone to come out and fix the heater. Mark is a true HVAC professional who takes pride in his work. So much so, that he regularly shares his fixes on his social media because he's not hiding anything and not scared of showing his work (much like the kitchen and chefs being on display to patrons in a high-end restaurant). I'm very fortunate to have found him. I was looking for someone to tune up the old Rheem unit on the new (old) house we purchased. The unit has been working ok but from the looks of the system, it's old, dirty and like everything else in the house, not much was properly maintained before us. I'm not rolling in dough, so prolonging the life of my current old AC was my main objective. Mark cleaned out the condenser coil and found that the evaporator coil was an old z-type where the annual labor involved in cleaning it would be significant enough to merit looking into converting to a conventional A-type coil. The simplicity of the conventional design would mean reduced annual maintenance costs and would also make the system run more efficient (being a new coil, it'd also flow better). So glad we went this route because when he took the old coil out, it was corroded and had mold all over it - yikes. Mark also put on a hard-start kit on the condenser to smooth out the power draw when the system starts up and replaced the contactor. The lower the stress and run time on the AC system, the better my odds of squeezing a few more seasons. Mark did offer a few solutions but when I told him I wanted to take a few extra steps to increase the odds of making this 25+ year-old system last a few more years, these were his recommendations. I'm not a professional but I do have some general knowledge on how these things work and his recommendations made sense. All that being said, his prices were fair and the conversion and fixes he did looked very clean. I really enjoy when a professional shows me everything he did - it means there's nothing to hide and he stands by his work. He showed me some of the work he did on his social media and how he interacts with other HVAC pros - it's obvious that he takes great pride in his craft. If you're looking for the cheapest mickey-mouse solution to your HVAC problems or you're looking for the cheapest install on a new system, go somewhere else. But if you want something done right, whether you only have the funds to squeeze by for the season or you want a new system or somewhere between, Mark will find a solution for you and it will be a fair price. read more

Our heater has been acting funky, and with family coming in for the holidays we needed it fixed ASAP. I contacted Mark from Cityflow on Thursday night and he was at my house by Friday afternoon. Scheduling was super easy on yelp and he was super responsive and punctual, giving me updates on his ETA and arrived exactly within his scheduled window (rare these days!). Once here, he took a thorough look at my heating panel and told me it seemed like the heater wasn't communicating with the panel, and that it might be a matter of replacing it. However, he wanted to check one more thing just in case it was a simpler fix. Thank god he did because it turns out it was a simple matter of our heater's sensor being dirty.
