We ordered the ceviche to start and I wouldn't recommend it unless you're interested in a less than noticeable presence of lime and fish. I've noticed that presentation is their thing, and the ceviche, while pretty, was lack luster in flavor. We also ordered the caliente roll, Tataki with tuna, and the sashimi appetizer. We had a good dinner here. The place was quite busy with folks of all ages. We sat next to a cute couple on a first date. The restaurant was also doing a lot of take out when we were there. There's parking on both the north and south sides of the restaurant. Inside, it's much larger than we thought. There's a big circular bar that was full when we came. I started with a sunomono salad with krab sticks. There were lots of cucumber slices in a sweet vinegar dressing topped with a copious amount of krab. Then I had a shrimp tempura roll. Both were very, very good. My husband had the salmon combo. He had a choice of soup or salad. He had the mixed greens salad with ginger dressing. We decided to try this place because we were right by it and we were very hungry. Not worth it. Definitely one of the worst sushi places I've been to. The staff was rude and the tables and the plates were not clean. We ordered a crab stick salad and all the pieces were thick and not mixed. It was not a salad. It was a plate with huge chunks of cucumber, crab sticks and we added avocado to taste. There was no sauce in the salad or on the side. Super dry and not tasty at all! But other than that, great way to start off our meal. I was point-man to relay our order to our waitress. We ordered like 5 different rolls. One bummer part of dinner, we asked if the birthday girl could have our sushi rolls be served on a sushi boat, because who doesn't want that?!? Unfortunately, they said no. Food - 4 Ambience - 3 I'm continuously on the search for my new all-time favorite sushi place since I've moved from New Orleans. This place definitely satisfies that craving. I have only eaten here with takeout, so I can't speak much on service. The sushi tastes pretty fresh, but it can be way overpriced for what you get, specifically the original rolls (i.e. spicy tuna roll). I've had both the tsunami and hurricane roll as special rolls, and they're pretty good butttttt I'm not obsessed. Spring rolls are a little greasy but you get a hearty helping. And I really like the tuna with crispy rice, but a little pricey, so I only get when I feel like treating myself. This place is pretty much on par with Kabuki, which is much more reasonably priced in my opinion. But this is more convenient for me, since it's not far from where I live. I have to say I have sushi about once a week when I'm lucky, lol. Right after our pedis, we went next door to have lunch. It was packed and we were greeted right away! We started with edamame, and the "Bang-Bang" appetizer. Battered shrimp tossed in siracha (REALLY GOOD.) Counter seating isn't an option any more. We were seated quickly. It seemed like everyone who worked there was happy and smiling except our server. We ordered the steamed gyoza and the edges were tough like it was either under cooked or old as hell. The seaweed salad and miso soup were both good. We ordered the Mermaid Maki and Salmon California roll. These were good and along the lines of what we order at our usual sushi restaurant. My complaint is that the salmon in both dishes looked fattier and was chewier, the portions a lot smaller and the prices were outrageously high.
