I couldn't be more disappointed in this company. I Would give them no stars if possible. Once you get your pool in, they treat their customers like crap. Their maintenance department is a total joke. My bubblers began falling apart early on. It took them over a year and 3 tries to fix them. Two times they ordered the wrong parts. The last time they didn't bring the screws to fix it. When reaching out to Matthew in this department, he is extremely unhelpful and condescending. Once the bubblers were finally in, they didn't operate propertly, Matthew refused to acknowledge that I was still having an issue and simply turned them down. I had strong refuge pools out and they were fantastic! Within a few seconds he identified the problem with my bubblers and promptly ordered the part. The technician gave me his personal cell phone number and will be my new go to for repairs. read more

While perhaps understandable, Neptune cancelled our contract at the end of July due to labor shortage with our pool still green because of bloom. We weren't given any recommendations of other companies to work with and because it's the middle of summer, we won't be able to use the pool at all this summer. Thank goodness for Marcelo and Neptune Pools! When our previous pool contractor bailed on our partially-finished pool, he swooped in and rescued our project. He always showed up on time and completed projects as promised, which means we got our dream pool. He now helps us maintain the pool and cleans it weekly, and we are very happy with the work, as well as the positive attitude. Neptune built my swimming pool 20+ years ago and did a great job. Sadly, it's not the same company today as it was then. After a couple of poor service visits in the mid-2000's I quit using them for service/repair work but decided to give them another try this fall. Big mistake! Neptune overcharges for parts; does not give estimates for repairs, and does shoddy work. I contacted Neptune in October over a leaking vacuum breaker and a hard to turn multiport valve. At the time, I sent them pictures showing the leak to make sure they had the replacement part and Neptune's service manager, Matt, responded saying the technician would bring the part. However, when the technician arrived he said he'd never seen the email and did not have the part. He replaced the multiport valve and was on site less than 35 minutes. After he left I checked the replaced multiport valve and it was leaking in two places where the technician had overtightened the screws and cracked the plastic. When he returned with the vacuum breaker he reinstalled the multiport valve using a spare I was going to return to Amazon (for a $60 credit). After I complained about the two-hour service charge and Neptune cut it to one hour, but did not offer to pay for the valve their technician had cracked. But, things got even worse after that. Neptune invoiced me for $291 for the vacuum breaker valve part, which included their standard 20% markup. That seemed like a lot for such a simple part so I checked the part number on Amazon I found the identical item selling for $59.95 w/free shipping in less than 30 seconds. When I complained to Neptune's service manager that a 400% markup seemed excessive, his response was "No one can compete with Amazon prices so using that example is a moot point to me." If he knows Amazon prices are so much lower one can only wonder why they don't buy from Amazon in the first place unless it's to over-inflate their 20% part mark up. The bottom line is that if you want good quality work done at a fair price you'll want to look somewhere besides Neptune for your pool needs. read more

I heard Neptune was the best so I hired them to build my pool. It turned out to be a big mistake. I believe they can and do construct a well-built pool however due to the numerous careless and preventable mistakes made on my project combined with their arrogant attitude and poor customer service, I can not give them a good recommendation. If you hire Neptune you can expect to pay a little more for the privilege of being discounted and treated like you're a huge pain. If you want calls returned in a timely manner don't hire Neptune. If you want proactive and complete communication don't hire Neptune. If you like working with petulant man-babies, check, they've got one of those on hand. read more

They serviced our pool for years, and never got it right. Their staff turned over all of the time. Most times it seems the techs were not familiar with our system. When we fired them and hired a new company, we discovered why they could never get our pool clean - the salt cell was broken, the skimmer line was plugged, the pool control on the hot tub was broken, the filter was leaking. Who knows how long this went on because they NEVER brought up any of these issues to us. The first time they came this season to start up our pool, they left the drain line open and drained 4/5ths of the water out of our pool. It cost $2,500 in water to re-fill it. In fact they never initiated a call to us once for ANY reason. The only way we could get them to respond to our calls or requests was to withhold payment. This must be the WORST pool service company in America. I would not recommend them to even my worst enemy. Do NOT hire them! read more

I hesitate to write this review due to my necessary continued relationship with Neptune... but as I hear that pool sales are at an all time high this summer I feel I must in the hopes it will help others to decide who to hire. I will say that while the pool was being installed the work did move along on a timely schedule. I will also say their service tech Kevin is very friendly and also very on time ... but I absolutely would not, repeat would NOT, hire Neptune again if I had it to do all over again. Several different people were involved during the process... concrete guys doing retaining walls throughout the back yard as well as the pool deck, graders regrading the yard, gas techs to increase the gas load available for house and pool, an electrician and sewer line folks (since we were digging everything up anyhow - I have worked as a contractor so no big deal, just a lot of organizing and letting everyone know when what was done, when inspections passed, knowing who was going to be working where. Neptune was just... unpleasant. It was enjoyable having everyone else on site (my house - where "I"live), but I found myself enjoying the days Neptune was not out. Complains by some of the employees about their job... complains about other elements of the site being of inconvenience to them... complaints about the neighbors (granted they're touchy... but hello, professional???) They behaved like prima donnas about the project - I kept on top of what they were doing next and everybody else worked around that to make sure they were not in the way at all, that they were not inconvenienced at all - and their attitude was pretty much "well good". They treated the pool as if it was theirs... grumbled about choices I had made that they didn't love and once accused my dogs of sabotaging their work - I kid you not... they had put up a short string line one evening before leaving and when they next came back apparently the string line was down. They were very miffed and one of two wanted to know if my dogs had been out in the yard... I said yes, of course they had, but not unattended and it seemed unlikely they would mess with that - the first guy grumbled and reasserted that the line had been up before they left... the second guy chimed in with a "yeah - looks like the strings been cut"....??? now my dogs are out there with scissors? All this over a string line... tie it off and level it again! No big! Spent more time blaming me/the dogs than just redoing it. Definitely always a desire to blame someone else. Wrapping up: there were problems installing the concrete blocks over the pool cover... that guy tried to blame it on the concrete guys who cast the blocks using Neptunes specs - one of them still wobbles like crazy (but I gave up) and the extra block they had cast is still sitting in the back yard where he left it. The fellow they had install the tile on the inside edge of the pool was... we'll just say very unpleasant. They guy they had come out to show me how to operate and manage the pool was useless ex: him: the chlorine should be between A and B, me: okay so if it's it's not between A and B I should adjust it, him: not necessarily, it might be okay. Um... this was every single thing he stated, I would repeat it back and it would always be trickier than that, but with no explanation he could verbalize. ??? Everything I have learned about the maintenance of my pool I learned from Carefree Pool and Spa...EVERYTHING. Following up: so much more unfortunately - but none of it good. Sorry. Neptune installed our pool so we felt it was necessary to be loyal customers to them for 5 years... BIG mistake! Hands change constantly, young kids come out not knowing how to service a pool, break things, you pay for it! Top it off, they don't show up half the time and yet you pay the bill! Had scheduled for pool to be open for summer... they claimed they'd show... weeks go by, no one shows... bill comes... when I called to ask why no one showed and why I was billed no live person but a VM to talk to! I left multiple VM and e-mails and still no response! RUN AWAY- use anyone else but Neptune!!! read more

Neptune installed our in-ground pool in 2011. Theirs was the only bid to give me an exact dollar amount based on what we wanted... 2 other contractors were vague. So I went with Neptune and couldn't be happier. Everything was done on schedule and on budget. As of this summer, not one issue with the pool or equipment, except for the automatic pool cover which has glitched a couple of times. I am so thankful that a friend (and builder) referred us to Neptune. I have a horror story from the mess that another local pool company left me with. The refused to warranty their work. So I was left with a failing pool and not sure who to trust. My pool was a hot mess, decking, tile, hot tub, & pool surface all needed to be rehabbed. Chad stepped in with honest answers. Really they were not the answers I wanted to hear. But he was forthright and the reality was my problem was much larger than I expected. My only regret was not finding them first. We filled the pool yesterday. We could not be any happier with the finished product. I highly recommend Neptune. If you don't select Neptune, do your homework. I wish had had. read more

Our grandfather had his pool installed by Neptune 50 years ago and we had our installed 20 years ago. We have had our pool maintained by them for years, but unfortunately the company has changed hands. Their customers service is non-existing as they have an automated phone maze that will never lead you to a real person and its almost impossible to find the right voicemail. Rachael, their coordinator, is passive aggressive and despite her polite appearance is arrogant, condescending and uncooperative. She makes it hard to get things done due to her adversarial and combative attitude, and you have to fight her to get anything you need done. Avoid Neptune at all costs. read more

Their techs were good fabricating the pool and seemed to know what they were doing. But the head office was really aggressive trying to get me to pay for everything before they even started the work. And when the pool installation was done, they disappeared. They didn't set up the chemistry properly and couldn't offer any advice as to how to care for it during the winter. It was like pulling teeth to get them to deal with punch list items. The "bedside manner" was lousy. It cost me over $10,000 to repair damages from poor startup and coordination with the masons for the coping. Lots of finger pointing. And Neptune ALWAYS blamed someone else. read more

They installed our pool. We had to replace the heaters 3 times in 6 years. The in-floor cleaning system is always malfunctioning, as is the pool cover. We always pay a ton to make these repairs and Neptune always makes excuses. Their construction is not very good and their maintenance is really bad. I would strongly recommend that you do not use them for either construction or maintenance . Very unresponsive and incompetent. read more
