It is an outdoor restaurant where you walk up to the counter and order and sit outside. Fries are good. Customer service is great. If your stomach can handle a huge dry, greasy burger then go for it.

A couple of years ago I agreed that this was one of the best burgers in the county. Now, not so much. I went there on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon around 2PM. It was moderately crowded, but that's to be expected with their reputation. I wound up having to share a table with a couple, who had a fairly moronic conversation. That's not so bad. What was bad: There were two guys smoking stogies on the upwind table. It really ruined the taste of everything. It was tempting to say or do something disgusting to them, but they had a young teenaged daughter with them. Some morons pulled donuts in their economy car in the gravel/dirt parking lot. $14 for a kind of overseasoned burger, crappy fries and a can of coke? No. Any number local burger places (Steve's, Paul's, etc.) are better than this at less than half the price. At least the smoke kept the yellowjackets away, which was my experience last summer. read more

I've been here a few times and I've brought friends and family. It's not over the top, it's not a sit down type gourmet burger joint. This place is simply a burger stand that offers good thick juicy fresh burgers canned soda in an interesting setting, it's a trailer kitchen and outdoor tables. Strange huh? And what does the Loch Ness monster have to do with it? I really don't know but I started coming here on my way home from work when I commuted from San Diego to Menifee I'd get tired sitting in traffic and pull on to 395 and get a burger for dinner and finish my commute on 395 made the whole evening better and more relaxed. Never had a bad experience, the food was good always an interesting crowd from CHP officers, to bikers, truckers, hikers, families etc etc just stopping to get out of the traffic and grab a burger. read more

Their own website says they close at 7pm everyday. Don't count on them being open. Looks like others have complained about the same thing over a year ago. Update your website and stop wasting people's time. read more

simple place + simple burger = best dang thing around people want too much out of a dive, but this place is just a burger joint, the fries are run of the mill frozen fries. They only sell canned sodas but most of us go to Mobil and buy a large soda for the same price. Just buy a cheeseburger and enjoy it. Service is very surly and rude. We've been there 3 times now and it's always the same. Food is okay, but not at those prices.

Stopped in on Sunday afternoon and wasn't too happy by the time I left. This place is a typical roach coach greasy spoon, without wheels. Prices are high for the quality and being a trailer style restaurant. I paid just under $13 for a bacon burger, fries and soda. Line/wait was long as it was the 12 O'clock lunch rush, and the couple tables open had no shade covering. The only way I found this spot was on my way to photograph a hot rod on old highway 395, and I won't be stopping by again unless I break down out front. read more

WORST BURGER EVER! The burger had the consistency and flavor of bland meat loaf. It was not hot or fresh even during a "lunch rush", the cheese was cold and stood alone on that pathetic burger. The menu was pathetic, the service was not even remotely near the realm of polite. The prices were decent... If the food had been edible. My whole family took a couple bites, detected the French Onion Soup mix bland-ness and threw it all out. Luckily we chose not to try Nything but their cold and flavorless burgers. We went home to cook ourselves something that we could all stomach. Friends tried to swear us away from this catastrophe but we didn't listen. Please listen: do not waste your time or money. The first few visits to Nessy were great, the food was delicious and well put together. The last two times will be the last times I eat Nessy Burger. The burgers no longer tasted like beef, but more like horse (which I have eaten before, so I can tell). The burgers have gotten sloppy and soggy. While the quantity of food is very large, the price should equate to quality. Please get your act together, Nessy. I miss good Nessy burgers. read more

First time I had a burger at Nessy burgers was a few years ago, my wife and myself were helping her brother and his family move from Ontario ca to Escondido ca, so it was on our way out there, I'm not gonna lie I believe I had two burgers that day and their good size burgers... Lol the pattys are just so delicious and their fries are great. They closed down for a while and I thought they couldn't have gone out of business, they were always busy. Well then later I found out they moved to a diff location which is just up the road, it's been a while since I've gone but I am happy to say that I will be stopping by this sat. A coworker of mine highly recommended Nessy Burger. I drove from an hour away to try the Nessy Burger and it was worth the drive. The fries are the perfect crispness and complimented the Nessy Burger perfectly. I will definitely be making the drive out again. Also a side note here if you get your food to go make sure to ask for the condiments you want. If eating there you have access to them on the counter. read more

I finally had the time to stop and see what all the fuss was about! This place always seems busy. I was very disappointed in the flavor of the "Nessy burger". It was very dry with absolutely no flavor. The bun was sort of squished and wasn't very good quality. I ate about half of my burger before realizing it wasn't going to get better. I really wanted to like this place. I do not recommend this eating establishment at all! read more

A friend recommended this place to me, so on my way back to San Diego I thought I would check it out, to see with the buzz was about. The food was good and the value was definitely there, but the biggest buzz were the bees in the adjacent trash cans flying around and causing a bother with all the patrons. Luckily for me no one in my party had a bee sting allergy, but still the thought of getting stung while trying to enjoy a meal, makes it that much less enjoyable. I doubt they are going to do anything about it, as I see they are building a brick and mortar location. However I think until that building is done, the Bee situation won't settle it's self. They should definitely try to settle the Bee problem. It's a real shame because this spot is a hidden gem. And I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon, due to the Bee situation. read more
