Decided to check this place out after stopping for gas and noticed the new sign up. It's in the back corner of the Vista Mart and used to be a Dominoes Pizza. Unusual location but I'm always up for a Taco. Workers are extremely friendly. They were fast, friendly and attentive. Great customer service!The street Tacos were just ok and lacked some flavor. Also got a side order of A Chile Relleno and was good and only cost a little over $3. Totally worth it. Not the best Street Tacos & Chile relleno I've had but for the value, it was decent. The pickled veggies here were so delicious and they had fresh cut cucumbers, which was a nice fresh treat alongside my tacos. This is not the greatest tacqueria our there but nice to have something in that area that gets the job done. They are really new and maybe are still fine tuning everything. This is a hidden gem. Yes, it is located in a gas station and has the ambiance is exactly what you would expect. There is drive through which makes it convenient. Some people have complained that it takes a while to get your order filled, but that is because each order is made fresh. This is not Taco Bell. Every thing we have tried has been yummy, from the Chile Rellenos to the Adobado Burritos. You have a choice of red or green sauce. The red is spicer, and the green has a verdant twist that I especially like. Give this place a try for authentic Mexican food. read more

While the food is always fresh cooked and fast one thing this place cannot get right is order accuracy. If you call and a Hispanic male answers your order is guaranteed to be screwed up. He speaks very little English and is very frustrating to talk to. You also tend to get charged for extras you didn't order or didn't get on a regular basis so always get a receipt. This taqueria is delicious! We first went here when we had a GrubHub gift card burning a hole in our pockets. Our order arrived quickly and everything was savory and satisfying, despite my initial hesitation. We were back in Sparks this weekend after a trek getting back to California from Utah and this was definitely the highlight of our long and very dull drive. I placed the order through Yelp and everything in our order was accurate. I got the beef burrito and cheese enchilada combo and was very content with the flavors, portion size and price. My kids loved their generous quesadillas, which smelled like they were made with homemade tortillas. So yummy! My husband loved his Nevada burrito and we have enjoyed their Cali burritos from our last encounter as well. Love that they have adobada for a protein option, as well as some unique combos (like the aforementioned beef burrito and cheese enchilada one, def best of both worlds with leftovers to spare!). I truly love finding random, unexpected eateries. While running family errands, we stopped at a gas station/convenience store in Sparks. Tucked in the back corner is a small kitchen, complete with a flat-top grill and deep fryer. I've heard the place previously served pizza; before that, burgers with a drive-thru window. It's now home to Nevada Taco Grill, a no frills taqueria serving up the goods in a tiny space with seating for perhaps 10, assuming they're well-acquainted. My trio ordered a few items, and found a spot to sit and dine amongst folks waiting on take-out. The two person operation was cranking out food in short order, and we soon settled into our unplanned feast. Somewhat ironically, the tacos were actually the least successful items. Curious about the difference between the "street" vs "regular" tacos, we tried a couple of each ($1.99 and $2.99, respectively). Choice of meats included shredded chicken or beef, grilled chicken, carne asada, carnitas, and adobada, and they also have specials during the week that include hard-shell, house-fried tortillas. The street variety were the typical pair of 3" corn tortillas--topped with meat, diced onion, and fresh cilantro--while the regulars were 6" single tortillas with the same ingredients, plus fresh pico de gallo. The pork carnitas and adobada were a bit on the crunchy side from being tossed on the grill, but they still tasted good. Beef asada was better, though a tad chewy. They were also a little light on the meat, compared to other tacos around town. A combo plate of three shredded beef, rolled tacos were served with melted cheese on top, guacamole, and sides of rice and beans ($7.25). The taquitos were crunchy with good masa flavor--filled with plenty of seasoned meat--and much better than their unfried cousins. The rice was fair, frijoles refritos quite good, but the guacamole was a blended, runny sauce. Not bad, just not the chunky stuff I prefer. Given a choice between shredded or grilled chicken on my mother's torta ($5.75), we went grilled. The small chunks of meat were actually tender and reasonably moist, accompanied by bell pepper, onion, tomato, and lettuce on a soft, perfectly lovely Mexican roll. The kind of soft that almost falls apart when you bite in. We all agreed it was a damn fine sandwich. Always on the hunt for a decent chile relleno--yet always with low expectations--I went ahead and got the relleno and cheese enchilada combo plate ($8.75). The enchilada was average, but the stuffed pepper was easily my favorite item of the meal. The large poblano was meaty--not overcooked--with a nice bit of kick. Stuffed with a ton of melty cheese and topped with a fresh and flavorful, just-shy-of-chunky red enchilada sauce, every bite made me sad to see it disappear. Surprisingly, this gas station chile relleno is among my top 5 from the past few years. My wife just can't not order nachos ($9.50), and I'm glad she did. Topped with a ton of carne asada, refried beans, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and both melted and shredded cheese sprinkles, the thin, crispy chips did a respectable job with their burden. You might try it once but you won't be back. This is the most bland food I've ever had. There's no way it's even Mexican food. Their pico de gallo doesn't even have jalapeños nor salt in it much less lemon or anything to perk it up. The salsas are definitely very watery and have very little flavor. The food on the other hand is super bland and can be made at your house. There's nothing exciting about it. I ate here when they very first opened and that was a few years ago. I thought I would return and give them another chance but after taking one bite I had to pack it up and take it to my house and go fix it. I go to the location on valley road in North Reno but as of right now it is my favorite Mexican food to hit late at night. They have the best food for great prices. The burritos are HUGE. the carne asada fries are the best I've yet to have. One of my favorite things is the pickled carrots in a bag they have with all the sauces you can take to go. We've been a fan of the food at Nevada Taco Grill since discovering it in a mini mart on Kietzke. They moved closer to home on Vista and Baring Blvd inside the Vista gas station mini mart on the corner. Very easy to find. Plenty of parking. They offer the same great food and friendly service and now they have a small seating area. They have combo plates all reasonably priced in the $8.00 range. They also have the usual burritos, tacos, nachos etc. Today I had the carne asada burrito and my partner had the nevada burrito. The burritos are large, stuffed full and packed with flavor. We have previously had their breakfast burrito, carne asada fries and enchiladas. Not once have we been disappointed. I highly recommend trying them if you are in the area and you want a fast, delicious meal. And if you're not in the area and are thinking about trying them you won't be waiting a trip to go out of your way. read more

I'm addicted to their plain California Burrito. Is it the greatest Mexican food ever? No. Is it filled with everything imaginable you can put in a tortilla? No. But in its simplicity there is magic. The beef is seasoned well and ive never found a tough or chewy bit. Onions, cilantro and a bit of Pico some cheese. along with only rice as a filler. No beans and you can get it with fries but i think of that more a breakfast burrito thing. Throw an egg in it there ya go. The green or red salsa is fine nothing amazing but adds nicely. The tortilla itself is not overly doughy and holds up great. And they have FRESH lime to squeeze along with a sprinkle of salt on each bite is a MUST.and ive gotten the bags of peppers and carrots too. I pretty much only have been thru the Drive thru so i cant tell you about the inside. ALSO be aware they CHARGE to use a ATM card. So i just bring cash. Once i realized it and was not wondering why the price kept going up and down it was all good. read more

This place was great when it first opened, food was reasonably priced and tasted great. After my last visit I will no longer be ordering food from here as they wanted $14 for one burrito. Nice Mexican restaurants in this area don't charge that ridiculous of a price for one burrito so you definitely shouldn't pay that price for a burrito from a "restaurant" that's literally located inside a gas station.
