I wandered in here while waiting for my laundry (a couple doors down) and instantly fell in love. I'd been in when it was Pietro's and was curious to see this locale's latest incarnation. The shelves of pastries made my mouth water bit out was closer to lunch time, so I ordered a trio of empanadas: beef, chicken and spinach. My favorites ware the beef and spinach lots of flavor and great texture, the chicken was...chicken I suppose. The pastry on all three was great. Stopped by after a long time here for a quick lunch with another guy... Had a Lomito [steak] sandwich, and the other guy a chicken milanesa [breaded] sandwich.. both were delicious, so were the empanadas and pastries [facturas] I took to go. Definitely some of the best in the Valley. If I lived closer, I would hit it more often. read more

Just dropped in to check it out. Picked up some empanadas for lunch. Everything looked good, but unfortunately, this is a cursed location. Many restaurants have come and gone in this same location that has no parking and no foot traffic (other than high school students who prefer McDonalds across the street). That said, I really hope they do well. Had the beef empanada for lunch. They are big, but not much else I can say possitive about it. Much prefer the Porto's version and it's not that much further to drive to. Credit cards are accepted using an iPhone App. read more

Empanadas were definitely frozen and microwaved. The ketchup packets they gave me were super puffy so they were obviously expired.. 2 stars because the lady that works there was super nice but definitely won't be coming back. read more

Went for lunch. Completely empty. It was 105F and they were only running the fan. Ordering is easy (at register) but wait for the food was insanely long. At least 25 min with no other customers. Food was good & authentic but no A/C, no TVs, no customers, no updates from the server or apology for delay. I don't see them surviving. Most Argentine restaurants in The Valley are bumping but this was an empty space with tons of potential. Won't be going back :( read more

My husband brought me the empanadas for lunch at work so I did not go to the restaurant but not sure if I would anyway. Alot of meat in the empanadas the beef was really tasty more like aunties house not from mama's cooking. the chicken not to my taste but wasn't un-edible but I did not finish it either . the pastry on the empanadas a little thick but they did have a lot of meat taste for yourself I prefer more Cuban Puerto Rican Jamaican empanada not sure if I would go to the restaurant again maybe to try something else again the food not bad but not a craving. read more

I was in the neighborhood and found this place through yelp. Their empanadas looked and sounded enticing so I thought I would order some to go. I ordered two of each, the beef, chicken, spinach, and ham and cheese. The order took about 10 mins and I was on my way. Got home and was all hyped up to eat one. Now they came in a container wrapped in foil and felt hot to the touch. So I assumed they were ready to eat. However when I went to bite into one YIKES the inside was cold. I'm not sure if they were meant to be sent out this way and New Buenos Aires expects their patrons to heat the empanadas up themselves? Or if the cook just didn't heat mine through enough? Either way it was gross. One because cold empanadas are nasty and two I knew they weren't fresh. I ended up putting them in the fridge and brought them to a friends house later to share. We popped them in the microwave, making sure they were hot on the inside before consuming. However even after being warmed through neither of us thought much of the empanadas. We tried the different flavors and weren't that impressed with any. We both didn't like the egg and olives in the beef one and my friend didn't even want to have a second bite of the spinach. The ham and cheese one was the best of the bunch. But one decent empanada won't get me to come back. read more

I work nearby and am so surprised never to have been here before! It's a little hard to find from the main drag but well worth a visit. We had delicious beef empanadas, overstuffed with mince meat, olives and egg in a perfect buttery crust. Also tried one of their breaded steak sandwiches, which was delicious and very large/filling for the price. Only drawback is that they don't have a customer bathroom, but prices are cheap, service is great, and the food tastes awesome. This is the kind of super cool independent store worth protecting and making successful for the neighborhood. read more

I love this place, they have the best empanadas in Burbank, very traditional simple and delicious, I have been here many times and it is never crowded, pick up is a short wait, and the prices are convenient. They have all kinds of food like pan de migas, delicious coffee, facturas and cakes the bbq combo is very tasty too with side salads and fries. They also have choripan and milanesa sandwiches...what else? Oh yeah apple kuchen etc... I would give them a 5 if the had restrooms which is the only reason why I prefer to pick up my food. Came here for empanadas and espressos. The place was clean, bright, and cheerful. The empanadas are Argentinean, not Cuban, Mexican, Colombian or any where else, so you have to know the difference to begin with. That being said, they were delicious, my favorite was the chicken, a little kick of spice to it. The beef are traditional with egg and olives, very yummy. I even took a slice of quince pie, so authentic, the crust was crumbly and decadent. I can't wait to go for lunch or dinner with the family. read more

Absolutely great spot. Very unlike the hoity-toity (see: expensive) Argentine restaurants you'll find cropping up throughout LA - this is very much a "local" cafe, similar to what you'd find on every corner in Buenos Aires. The owners are from the provinces in Argentina and their roots come out in every dish. The empanadas are huge and delicious - my favorite being the carne. The choripan is delicious and the size of a hoagie. Everything here is phenomenal and more than moderately priced. The food may be good, but the place looks like someone's old garage with a bunch of junk and dust. I had other expectations, as most Argentine bakeries are clean and welcoming. I was happy to discover this new place because the food is not only authentic it is delicious. The pastries are to die for and both times I ate there I especially enjoyed the empanadas and Milanesa. The coffee is great and the service is prompt and friendly. I hope this family owned business is given a chance to thrive because they say they make everything from scratch... which is rare. The new decoration on the windows is so beautiful I stared at it as the sun streamed in the other day as the Argentine music played. I am so glad I found this place. I love the empanadas (beef in particular, I found the spinach ones to be a bit bland for my taste). I also really liked the carne empanizada (breaded steak). This is a great little local spot! My son is friends with the son of the owners (full disclosure!) and we've been able to try a few pastries and sandwiches and they have all been amazing! So good in fact that we've become regular customers and always want to swing by for some delicious empanadas! I know I have a bit of a bias here, but this really is a great place run by a great family! Everything is handmade, not out of a box, and that alone is a valuable commodity in a restaurant. And truly, I would not hesitate to keep coming here for as long as they stick around. It really is great food! The empanadas were delicious. The parillada was good not great. Portions were above average. Reminds me of the cafes you see in Spain. This place has plenty of potential but looks like I came here when they were sold out of the pastries. My timing wasn't good. They had one person taking care of the counter and waiting/bussing tables. He apologized profusely for the slow service and gave me a free sample of a small churro. Service wise most Argentinian places tend to be very stand off-ish and smug but this guy was courteous and sincere with his apology. I will try them once again and see how it goes. I was searching for Burbank's best Empanadas and I'm certain I found it in New Buenos Aires. I compared the Chicken Empanadas to that of the others NBA won Hands Down. Juicy filling using shredded chicken. Dough was tasty enough to eat the rolled edges. Nevertheless, it's preferable to keep that rolled edge dough to a minimum. Quality was surprising 4.0, freshness 5 stars. I enjoyed it with a small coffee, En Tasse. All for only 3.60!! I was not looking for a bargain only quality but, for those who are-there's your bonus, for this level of quality, remarkable. Definitely a keeper at 4.5 stars. I'd give 5 stars for quality if they'd pinch the edges instead of rolling. read more

FINALLY an adorable café in Burbank!! Food is authentic & owners are hands on. The only thing needed is an air conditioning, so I love to call in my order and enjoy a fresh home cooked Argentine meal at home. Reminds me of my Grandma's cooking. LoTs of variety in pastries here too. Little cookies, large cookies, authentic sweets. The cafe, inside, is cute. The decor is whimsical. The bulky, rustic, distressed furniture gives a nice authentic feel to the cafe. Pastas, meats, and many other dishes are offered. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or anytime of day. read more

I don't know how long this place has been around but I've lived in the area all my life and never knew this place existed. I'm glad a co-worker introduced me to this place! The carne empanadas are so delicious! The dough is soft yet slightly crisp and the carne is juicy. Very inexpensive! Two for $3.98 if I remember correctly. The spinach and cheese empanadas are ok. They pale in comparison to the carne. Haven't tried the pastries yet but hopefully I will soon. Would definitely recommend!! Make sure to bring cash. read more
