Not sure I've ever had Argentine food and it was delicious! They had a 4 empanada special so we shared the spinach, chicken curry, beef and cheese & onion and while all great my favorite was the chicken curry. For my main dish I got the garlic and parley chicken and fries and thought it was super flavorful. Service was great and sitting outside on a lovely day was perfect.

We came here for the first time this weekend and are sad we haven't been coming here longer! We came in around 6:30 and there was plenty of room with no line, we did valet which was $10. We were sat immediately out on the patio and once we were sat the whole restaurant started to fill up. Definitely recommend the patio! The food came extremely fast and everything was hot and delicious! We ordered the shrimp and mushroom appetizers and what's not to love about those covered in butter and garlic. We of course ordered a steak and the Plato mixto and I highly recommend! It can definitely feed 3 people! So delicious and we will for sure be back!

Spicy Chimichurri -- the best taste of the meal, but for a $2 up-charge.

Lala's has been around a very long time, and their menu of Argentine specialties has become a staple: steaks and chicken prepared a variety of ways, sausages and other niche items are all appealing on the page, and arrive looking just about as good as you would have thought. The issue comes down to an unfortunate blandness. While the clientele at lunch was very mixed in terms of age, the food all seems like what you'd get at a place specifically geared towards seniors: looks good, tastes kind of like nothing much. I had opted for the Argentinian Chorizo Sandwich, replacing the advertised lettuce and tomato with grilled onions. The sausages were perfectly cooked, with a proper char outside and a plump juiciness inside. But the meat itself had very little flavor; nothing to distinguish it at all from the bread it rested on. The accompanying fries were likewise properly cooked, with a pleasing crisp -- and likewise had no seasoning at all. I added table salt, of course, but that's not the same as having them dusted with a chef's salt right out of the fryer. Salad was salad, fresh and crispy, but the dressing, again, was non-descript. Lastly, their Chimichurri (fresh and herbaceous) lacked a proper hit of garlic or spice, or both. When I asked for hot sauce, I was offered Tabasco (which isn't the right flavor profile for Argentine food) or a Spicy Chimichurri for an extra $2. I splurged on the extra, and it turned out to be the tastiest part of the meal; a robust, earthy sauce with layered flavors and a welcome punch of heat. When it comes to the ambiance itself, the restaurant is quite comfortable, with relaxing lighting and a laid-back feel. They've also taken a good deal of care to curb the bright sunlight pouring in through their many windows, which is an effort that must be appreciated. The bathrooms, however, could really use an overhaul. As soon as you enter the corridor everything changes: the restroom doors are beaten up and dirty; inside, the polished decor disappears and one is greeted by a grungy, industrial floor, beaten up stall doors badly in need of new paint (yes, there is some graffiti), and fixtures that seem to be left over from whatever establishment was on this spot when it was first developed. Feels like you're in the bathroom at a dive music venue, and that feels wrong. One final thought: the parking in this corner of Studio City has always been tough, and there aren't enough spots on the street and in the little lot to accommodate the restaurant itself, much less the other businesses that share the small strip center. Mandatory valet was instituted some time ago, and I agree that's the best solution -- but a $10 fee at lunch also seems out of proportion. Maybe at dinner time, with $5 at lunch? That would seem better, especially if you have to pay $2 to get the good Chimichurri.

    Amazing empanada

Food : 5/5 Price: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Food: we went here for DineLA so the options may be a bit different. We had an empanada, Argentinian chorizo, Marcella (blood sausage) as our starters. All were excellent in flavor. The empanada may be one of the best Argentinian empanadas ive ever had. The chorizo was excellent with a great char to it to highlight its flavor. We also received complementary bread and chimichuri sauce which was awesome. We had the NY champignon steaks which had a mushroom sauce, grilled zucchini and mashed potatoes. This had excellent flavor as well. Lastly for dessert we had the crepe and flan, both had whipped cream and dulce de Leche which was a perfect end to the meal. Price: 5/5 - DineLA price was an extreme value at $25 per person for a prefixes menu. We added drinks as well as the morcilla sausage. The regular menu prices were also very reasonable. Id definitely like to try it post DineLA. Service: 5/5 - excellent service overall. I made reservations, and we were seated right away. Server was helpful, kept our water and drinks full without hesitation. Friendly and not overbearing. She gave us time to enjoy food and the food came out promptly and hot. Couldn't ask for more. Ambiance: 5/5 - it was refreshing to sit inside and have adequate space between tables. I didnt have to squeeze through a pathway or fear my chair would hit the person or table behind me. The music was bumping (not super loud) which was great and it fit the atmosphere. Definitely a good vibe. The downside if I had to point to one is parking. But most places along Ventura have parking issues. This has a parking lot with Valet. However we found a spot a block down.

    Half Melrose-so good!

Lala's Argentine Grill swept us off our feet. This beautiful and cozy restaurant was the perfect spot to catch up with old friends. The kids devoured the chimicurri burger. My husband is still raving about the yummy empanadas, and I must recommend the Melrose salad! It is the perfect, savory and hearty salad for a dinner out! Parking is limited, with some street parking surrounding the restaurant but the block also offered valet parking which made getting in and out a breeze!

Came here for dinner very cute interior. The parking isn't great it's only valet and it's very limited. We didn't wait long to be seated which was nice. The empanadas were tasty but the rest of the food was missing seasoning. The vibe was nice they have a good playlist playing.

I cant believe this place had the nerve to harass me, while I was dinning here on Mother's Day the waiter said! "Happy Mother's Day" not thinking to much of it I said "thank you!" Then he proceeded to ask me why I said thank you and all most making fun of me for saying thank you ! I was being polite and this waiter acted like I was mean for saying thank you on Mother's Day!! Come on! Lalas you can do better than this.. and I told him I was just being polite and nice and he proceeded to walk away with a "hmm"! The food was ok , I just expected more from lalas.. Very disappointed

We came here for my best friends post-wedding dinner. Lots of great service, good drinks, and great food. The steak was my favorite but I also LOVED the chicken. I'm also a big salad person, and the side salad was a great side to all the meat. They also had yummy rice, French fries, mashed potatoes, and more. Salad was my favorite side though. I also asked for a hot water with lemon and it was set up nicely with a little pot. I'm not sure about the prices since it was a wedding dinner but I'm definitely coming back. The restaurant was also very cute and a nice dinner aesthetic. We sat outdoor with perfect weather during the night time.

My absolute favorite steak place in the valley! The price is great for the quality and the staff is always extremely attentive and kind. My go-to is the Lomo Lala, filet mignon and mushrooms covered in the most incredible red wine white sauce. I know they have the chimichurri bottled, but if I could take home a jar of that sauce I 1000% would. The costilla is also incredible and if you want a larger size they have the costilla grande. For your side please get the mashed potatoes, they're simple, thick, creamy, and one of the best I've ever had. And if you're getting drinks, get the frozen strawberry margarita, it's not too syrupy and always cute.

Tried Dine LA $25 Lunch. It was Fantastic, fresh food and has small parking lot availability. Everyone welcoming except my waiter. Manager Lady greeted me when I walked in, allowed me to sit anywhere I liked. Busboy friendly, smiled, said hello, Brought water, bread n chimichurri sauce. Waiter man w beard & funny yellow lens black frame glasses never greeted, only asked for order. Service okay, he did his job, but He has no capacity for pleasantries or asking if need anything. Acted like he was too busy to ask how are you? How is the meal? Can I get you anything? He did fill water, did it silently and scurried off like running from a fire. Then stood at kitchen counter, idle. Busboy came by twice, each time happy and asking if ok, need anything. Nice friendly personality. Beard guy, take some lessons.... He never said a word to me, except to take my order. Silently gave me bill, no thanks for coming, no goodbye. Yes, I get it, you're too hip & cool and feel Job is beneath you to exchange any pleasantries. No, didn't think having a bad day. We came a year ago, same personality, but I didn't comment on it then. Oh well. The busboy's attitude and attentiveness more than made up for it. You should try out for waiter job, you'd be excellent at it. Wasn't busy yet, only me, and two tables of 2 people. Food was enjoyable a good deal with Dina La doing its job, introducing us to diff restaurants and enabling us to try diff things to get us to come back and experience more items. It had a modern warm cozy interior. Patio nice w pretty light fixture. Would come again to try other menu offerings.

Argentina has never tasted so good, and I'm here to tell you that this place nails the flavors so well, I was practically breathing in their chimichuri. My food was not only full of flavor, but I could feel the immense pride put into our meal.Coming in on a summer heatwave, I would like to shout out our waiter, Michelle who gave me so many refills on my Arnold Palmer, I lost count. Overall, the ambiance of the place was a welcomed surprise. The glass bottle fixtures they have are charming. You guys rock!

You know when something is good, you continue to go. This place has been our go to for so many events and memories for years. Someone's birthday, a promotion, a reason to just celebrate and a nice meal. We've been through it all here. Parking, there's valet in the lot. I believe they share with the other business on site. It a fee but not expensive. Street parking available if you can find it. Normally we come for dinner but this visit was brunch. It wasn't too busy which was perfect. So getting a table was easy without a wait. We got seated on the patio, nice warm day for it. Menu does still have their amazing dishes their known for. Some items does look different but all our usual was still On it. As it was brunch, they offered bottomless mimosas till 3pm. We sure took advantage of it. Their fresh bread and chimichurri sauce thats alway brought out to start is always so good. Honestly that alone is a nice meal...lol... We started off with their provelata, nice hot melted cheese in a skillet with pick de gallo. That with the bread, match made in heaven. It's a must with every meal. Entrees, the shrimp penne pasta with a choice of different sauce. I went with the cream sauce. Wore white so had to be careful. The sauce was great and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Also pasta was perfect. And the al Champignon, chicken breast topped with sautéed mushrooms in a light red wine cream sauce. That was served with two sides. Went with the mashed potatoes and their rice. The food has always been amazing. The flavors are always on point. Everything's alway cooked perfectly. Some of our favorites, the empanadas. Any of them will not disappoint. Plus the sautéed mushrooms, that's also a must for a starter. Then you have the platter of meat perfect for sharing. If you like meat, give it a try. Service was great, all the staff were amazing. Love the bottomless mimosas deal, offered for 90 min. Price wise has gone up but food is till amazing.

Close and convenient to where our aunt Roxy lives. We took her for early dinner and we weren't wrong. We loved Mariano our server that treated us gently and polite, we had a bottle of bubbles and orange juice that we enjoyed till its last drop... the food is nice we had a salad with one milanesa with mash potato and a skirt steak with brócoli... the venue is modern and has a terrace to the street that makes it fun... and the price is right!!!

Even though the restaurant was busy, we were seated quickly and immediately offered our choice of water, which was a nice touch and set the tone for a great evening. Our server, Daniel, was fantastic. He introduced himself, shared a little about the restaurant, and made us feel welcome right away. After taking our drink order, he was incredibly knowledgeable and helped guide us through the menu with excellent recommendations. We started with the octopus appetizer, which was absolutely outstanding. My fiancée couldn't try it due to some spice allergies, but I can honestly say it was one of the best octopus dishes I've had. For our entrées, she ordered the duck and I had the New York steak--both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Verse delivered a truly memorable dining experience, and we can't wait to come back. From the moment we pulled up to valet to checking in for our reservation, everything felt smooth and elevated. We got seated right away and our server, Roger (I think that was his name), immediately set the tone for the evening. He gave us a great rundown of the menu and the concept of the restaurant, which made the experience feel more personal and immersive. We started with the Hokkaido milk buns and wow... that brown butter was dangerously addicting. Soft and almost mousse-like with the perfect balance of sweetness and salt. I could honestly eat that by itself. The buns themselves were delicious too, though I do wish they served them piping hot like the bread at Texas Roadhouse or Lucille's Smokehouse. The yellowtail crudo was incredible. Super fresh, melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the chips added a nice crunch while the fruit brought a bright, robust flavor that paired beautifully with the fish. Easily one of my favorite dishes of the night. A friend of my friend happened to be working there that evening and surprised us with the kale sprouts. Funny enough, we had literally just been debating whether to order it. It turned out to be such a great dish -- smoky, crunchy, and packed with flavor. The raisins added a really nice touch of sweetness. We ended up saving some of it to eat alongside our entrees and it paired perfectly. My friend ordered the dry-aged branzino and it was excellent. Crispy skin on the outside while the fish stayed soft, juicy, sweet, and savory inside. The Oaxacan mole felt like such a bold choice but somehow worked beautifully with the dish. And that burnt sweet potato? So soft and flavorful it practically melted in your mouth. I went with the dry-aged duck breast and loved every part of it. It came with pommes aligot layered with duck au jus and fermented black bean underneath, which sounded unexpected but tasted amazing together. Rich, savory, unique, and comforting all at once. The potato pave was another standout -- crispy on the outside, tender and rich on the inside. Absolutely delicious. Everything about the night was memorable: the atmosphere, the music, the food, and the service. Verse is definitely one of those places that stands out from the usual dining scene. We didn't have time to stay for dessert since we had another engagement afterward, but honestly that just gave us another reason to come back.

Echoing what everyone else has been saying - the service is SO slow. It was about 45 minutes before we were able to order our second drink and our water glasses were empty. They have so many runners bringing the drinks out but only a few servers and, from the looks of it, one bartender (on a Saturday night - what?!). The server was saying he was trying to find a manager to help out but they were nowhere to be found. Clearly management is fine with these service times since they're still making $$$. The drinks were delicious, and I loved that there were heaters on the patio (though they did get very hot at times). Our server was so kind and brought us a celebratory drink. I do wish there were more explanations with the beverages, especially for the Paid Vacation as most people will not realize you're supposed to bite into the buzz button for the tingly sensation. I would come back, but need some time for my wallet to recover first, haha!

Don't forget your wallet, as you're in the hundo range, per person, once that crisp napkin is placed in your lap. Worth it? Yes! A beautiful, beautiful restaurant with a classic (and classy) dining room, private rooms that look very cosy (and were all full when I stopped in for a birthday dinner), and a mile long bar with booths, tables and of course the bar. From the host/hostess stand to the servers to the runners, everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Valet and tons of street parking adjacent if you're not in heels. It's a steak house at its core, but do not sleep on the salmon -- super delicious and you're getting the omega-3 fatty acids for healthmaxxing. Robbie B tip: the happy hour. Reduced price wine glasses and small bites (but actually pretty big portions) of fancy bar food. Sliders, fries, mini lamb chops; it's a whole meal in there. Perfect place to quit your job and celebrate.
