Everything the two men that came to move me were were nice to me, but they did not take care of my property when they got to my new house. They ran into a 3 foot tall planter and busted all the pieces almost tore my fence down with a mirror knocked a hole in my sheet rock while moving a mud bench dented My refrigerator. I don't know what they did to the dryer because now the door won't lock they scratched the front of the plastic on the dryers and washer. And I don't know what they did to my pie safe but now the doors won't stay closed. I cannot be more disappointed. I try to stay in our area to support our local businesses. I called the company and talked to a lady and her comment to me was will tell him they need to tighten up. I ask her who is gonna pay for my planner and she said in Texas things dry out so those don't last long. I'm not sure what that had to do with anything, but I told her about the other things that I just had the house repainted and a chipped corners off and knocked that hole in the sheet rock and she said submit it will consider it read more

This company is very unprofessional. Not only did they block my handicapped parents driveway, but the neighbors they hired them are very unhappy. The movers refused to move their truck. My dad is on a walker and had to walk through the grass to get into his yard. The police were called and the company was cited and made to move. Poor service and very unprofessional! read more

If we could give 0/5 stars, we would. I would like to preface this review by saying, we have utilized this moving company on numerous occasions over the last few years and recommended them to anyone who needed movers, but after this experience we will never use them again. We were scheduled for two movers to arrive between 8-9 am to move a standard 2x2 apartment. Our movers did not arrive until 11:45 am. Then, they proceeded to take 7.5 hours to complete a move 3.0 miles away and complained about the moving process for the duration of time they were "completing" our move. In addition, the seven of us present (residents and family) had to physically assist in helping speed along the movers. We were active participants in unloading the truck and bringing items into the new apartment even though we hired the movers to do this for us. So, not only did the move take an outrageous and unrealistic amount of time, the movers did not perform the expected job themselves, and an extensive amount of damage to our property occurred as a result of their carelessness. Furniture was not wrapped. Furniture was drug along the floors of the garages and street. Boxes were destroyed. The movers were totally unprofessional and inept. We were provided a "discounted" rate of $75/hr rather than $85/hr in addition to the initial $65 fee for our "troubles," but even that was still too much. The total owed was more than double what was quoted initially. Additionally, communication with the movers day of was lousy. We were constantly reaching out to them asking for their ETA because they would not provide updates on their delay. Poor communication continued as we attempted to settle compensation with them after the fact. Damages and destruction of property exceeded $1,000.00, and we were only only compensated for a total of $174.00. We no longer recommend their services after this horrendous experience. read more

I started not to write anything, but I feel like people need to be warned. I hate writing negative reviews but this is costing us a LOT. Our move was back in January from a house to a storage facility. To say the least.. it was a hot mess. We had a supervisor and two workers. Throughout the ENTIRE move the two workers argued about how to do things, how it needed to be stacked in the storage unit, etc. My husband was upstairs with them but down the hall and started hearing things being tossed around, dropped in frustration while they argued so he went around the corner to see what was going on and called me to get the supervisor who was downstairs unloading the truck. During the elevator ride to that floor he told me that this is not the first time they've done this and one of them, who was a relative of his, tends to have anger issues. I was going to go back downstairs and one of the boys got on the elevator and started cursing and complaining about the "People" (my husband and I) saying that he wasn't doing his job until he realized that I was one of the people... then he shut up. The two boys should've never been put working together. Their bickering and the supervisor's lack of supervision between the two drug out our time... finally I said this has to stop it's causing us to pay WAY more than we anticipated and NOTHING was finished. All of our furniture and items were strewn down the hallway of the storage unit... it was just a mess! I say all of that to say this... today we had a different company move us out of the storage and into our new home. They carefully took each piece of furniture out and WE inspected it and EVERY PIECE OF FURNITURE was SCRATCHED UP, DENTED and my sewing desk had the TOP BROKEN OFF OF IT with a hole in it!!! Needless to say.... we will NEVER use this company again. God help whoever does if they get this crew. Be prepared to replace most if not all of your belongings. Absolutely rude and poor customer service! I got a phone call the morning of my move indicating there was a problem. I called back and the owner answered and said the paperwork indicated 3 bedroom move with 2 movers and that is just not going to work. He told me that job would take 10-12 hours and him and his crew needs to be Able to get home safely and that would be a lot of work! When i asked what his alternative was, he told me he GUESSED he would come and try to do as much as possible. He again indicated it would take 12 hours and i told him i wasn't paying for 12 hours. It is not my fault that YOUR company didn't specify YOU needed 3 men to do the job. I already paid Groupon and we needed to be moved so my husband called back to talk through that we don't have a packed 3 bedroom house. Turns out it only took them about an hour and half to do my whole house except my bedroom. SHOCKER. It only took them 4 hours total to finish the job. I had a number of antiques and they took all the right measures to make sure these pieces were protected throughout the move. These guys were terrible. They were late and did not have the proper equipment to do their job. We have a washer and dryer which are very heavy, that's a big part of why we got movers. It was not particularly exciting to watch these guys play plinko with my brand new touch screen washer and dryer down our wooden stair case - which we had just gotten installed. They left a huge gash in our wall and dented both the washer and the dryer. Both of the movers sustained injuries during this fiasco. Every single piece of our wooden furniture that we unloaded had at least 1 dent in it when we unloaded it yesterday. In order to compensate us for our loss, they gave us an hour of the moving costs free of charge. Gee, thanks. Don't do it. This past weekend my wife and I relocated from Houston to Dallas using New Caney Movers. Despite negative reviews (all being about punctuality) we elected to use them because their pricing was the most competitive. To get our move set up we firs dealt with a Ms. Penny S. Who was polite and courteous and answered all of our questions. She set the expectations of what they would do and what they needed from us for it to be a successful and as stress free as possible. If you listen and do as she says you'll have no issues. First they give you a time frame of when they will arrive. Ours was between 8 am and 9 am. Meaning that they may not show up at exactly 8 but they promise to be there no later than 9. So if they show up at 830 then they are on time. Our moving team did just that. (So don't complain if you don't understand this concept). The day before our move I was told we would get a confirmation call and that we had to answer it otherwise they wouldn't dispatch their team. When they couldn't get through to my phone they didn't give up they called the secondary number I listed and got the confirmation. Moving day our team was a two man team lead by the most professional and courteous man I have ever met, Broderick. His co part was Josh. Both made it a point to introduce us and shake our hands. Broderick had us show him around the home so he knew what we needed from him. Right after he and Josh got to work. We moved from a 900 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment on the second floor. The guys had all of our stuff unassembled and loaded into the truck within an hour and a half. My wife and I are vertically challenged and when we couldn't get the last curtain rod Brackett down Broderick didn't hesitate to help us pull it down. They took great care in our valuables and padded and wrapped all of our furniture. Upon arrival to our new home the team had our stuff unloaded within 45 mins and reassembled all of our furniture. They don't take payment until the job is 100% complete. Broderick asked me to come outside and check his trailer to make sure that nothing was left behind and then reviewed the final contract with me. We made sure that nothing was broken and finalized our contract. They take both cash and credit card for your convenience. If you want a quality mover without the over pricing of other companies these guys are the ones to go with. Stress free and fast I couldn't have imagined a better team. I had a very unpleasant experience with New Caney Movers. One of their drivers pulled their moving trailer into the front bumper of my truck causing extensive damage. Instead of taking care of the issue I got the run around from the folks at the office who were very rude and dishonest about the whole thing. It was an okay experience, I guess. I allowed them to take a lunch break before they showed up for a 1pm appointment, so my appointment turned into a 2pm appointment. The guys were fast. A little too fast, though, because we sustained damage to one of our shelving units, a vertical wooden shelving unit was left behind at my last apartment complex next to an elevator, and we also sustained deep, half inch gauges in our front door at our last apartment, which lost me my security deposit. My fiance and I have a 10 ft sofa. Pretty normal human being furniture, I guess. When throwing away a bag of trash and coming back to my unit, one of the movers said, verbatim, "did you see that f*cking couch? And that little b*tch just stood there and pointed at it". Come on, man. At least wait until your client is FOR SURE OUT OF THE BUILDING before talking a bunch of crap. The price was fair. Between that and supporting local small business, that's really the only pros of using this company. However, I tipped each mover generously, gave them a six pack, and allowed them to be an hour late so they could have lunch, but apparently I'm still a little b*tch, lol. I purchased a Groupon for New Caney Movers after hearing about them from a family member. I was hoping to have a similar experience. However, it was everything but. I was told they would arrive at 1 when I booked the appointment. I'm waiting around. Around 1:20, I call and they tell me the movers are behind schedule and that there is an window of 1-3. I asked specially when I made the appointment as I inquired about when the time would begin. I was then told my Penny that the movers would arrive at 3:30. Penny was very rude when I politely expressed my dissatisfaction with the lack of communication and respect for my time. She even asked if I would just like for them to cancel my move as if that would be a solution to my problem. That would clearly only make things worse. Fast forward hours later, they FINALLY arrive close to 6. The movers were very apologetic, which I appreciated. After they finished unloading, I noticed a whole in the couch, a broken leg on the couch, a cracked fish tank, and a missing box. They did do a claim on the couch. As for the missing box and fish tank, I guess I'm taking a loss. I called and emailed several times and Penny repeatedly states there is nothing she can do. I've never received such horrible customer service. If you want to be treated as a valued customer, I would suggest you go else. Definitely wouldn't recommend them in the future. read more

When moving from a 2 bedroom, 2nd floor apartment to a 3 bedroom house I thought I could make the most of a groupon that was available at the time. I compared prices and New Caney was comfortably the cheapest (even with their extra trip fee for providing services outside of their local area) so I went with them. I had to deal primarily with the lady in their office over the phone since their website is basically useless The actual move is where my frustration comes from. The 3 man team showed up 25 minutes later than the window they provided said they would and I received no calls or updates to let me know this would be the case. I wasn't even sure they would still be coming despite the confirmation call I got a day earlier. To their credit, once they arrived they got straight to work and had everything wrapped and loaded in about 30-45 minutes. Unfortunately there was some minor damage (scratches and dings) on some furniture etc but that still is not my main complaint. The reason I'm writing this review however. is because of how they handled moving my 3 year old daughter's bunk bed. They dismantled it to get it out of the apartment and put it back together in her new room which in theory would have been great, but the gentleman that was doing the dismantling and reassembly was doing so without the help of the instruction manual that I left out for him to reference. The night after he had reassembled it (without 4 screws that were just left on the floor of my daughters room) I laid my daughter in her bed and the frame collapsed with her in it. Fortunately the frame landed around her instead of on top of her and none of the splintered wood was close enough to cause serious injury but this had the potential to have been a fatal accident had things fallen only slightly differently. The frame was literally torn apart under the weight of a 40 lbs girl... When I called to file a complaint, the office seemed genuinely concerned for the most part and I was happy to overlook the accident so long as I was reimbursed for the bed that was a birthday present less than 6 months earlier. However I was told that despite the blatant dangerously negligent reassembling of the bed that they would only reimburse me for 2/3 of it meaning I was over $100 out of pocket. The reason I was given is that they were under no legal obligation to offer anything more and that I should have read the fine print of the contract that I signed upon completion of the move. Any concern that was there originally, completely disappeared and them saving an extra $100 became more important to them than the reputation of their company or even the safety and well being of their customers. Listening to their disinterest when it came to negotiating a replacement bed was disgusting. It felt as though now that the job was done they couldn't care less about the quality of their work or the satisfaction of their clients. To summarize, New Caney Movers exemplify the "get what you pay for" slogan. They're cheap and their quality and business practices are exactly that. I would never recommend them and I will never use them again. Do not use New Caney Movers regardless of how appealing the groupon may seem. read more

The owner of the company is a miserable man who has no customer service skills. His wife, who was super nice, was emailing back and forth with my husband and then scheduled us for a free in home estimate for sat am. When the time came and past no one showed up so I called to ask if the guy is coming to give us an estimate. The owner was rude and said I do nothing for free and the wknd is when I make money so don't bother waiting for an estimate. I said your ppl called me, schedule the appt., and confirmed it. He again proceeded to tell me he does nothing for free and no one will be coming out. He was arrogant and rude and had no customer service skills. I would nvr recommend them to anyone after they were recommended to us. I asked him if he was the owner he said yes and I said your responses and customer service skills are poor he said ok and basically hung up on me. I wish this forum offered "zero" stars because that's what I really wanted to give them. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. Worst experience I never had. Let me explain. I found a Groupon offering this companies services. We agreed on a date and time and I received an email verifying the appointment. Three days before our move they call and say they are having mechanical issues and asked if I could do our move on another date. I explained that I could not because I was contractually obligated to be out on a certain date. They said they would try to work something out and call back. They never did and I called every day for three days. Nobody would answer the phone or return my calls. The morning of the move, no one showed up. I called the office and, by some divine miracle, got ahold of someone. They said they had me listed as a "non-confirmed" or some kind of crap like that. I explained I even had a conformation email. They rescheduled for later that day. Again, no one showed up. I called and called. No response. Finally, I got another mover at the last minute and got a refund from Groupon. Again, DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. They are horrible. I have no idea how they stay in business. read more

We hired New Caney Movers using a Groupon. We had them load our 2 bedroom townhome into a POD to be transported. For starters, they were a day late arriving and an hour late on the day they actually showed up. We had 4 people show up. They had us sign a liability release because they were moving our 2 month old washer and dryer from the upstairs utility room. I figured this was standard. They managed to scrape up and dent both units AND leave gashes and holes (i could fit my fist through it) in our drywall on the stairs. Two of the movers ended up cutting their hands in this process, enough that both had to get stitches afterwards. We asked to lay down protective covering on our brand new wood floors and stairs, and they told us we couldn't. They said they were professionals and knew what they were doing and they wouldn't be harmed. I highly regret letting them talk me out of that. They were bad. We had to hire contractors to refinish our stairs and repair our wall and repaint because the new owners were moving in that following weekend. We provided blankets and plastic wrap to the movers to use to pack the POD. I am happy to report that while we unloaded the POD and boxes, nothing is broken beyond repair. We will have to get a new couch because of the damage done to it during packing. The leather sectional was scratched and torn by the legs of the other sections of furniture because they didn't use the provided blankets. The finish on our wood furniture was scraped and gashed, but we have been able to fix most of it with a stain pen. I was trying to save a few bucks on the move, so I went with New Caney Movers. I was scheduled to have my stuff moved on 09/26/15, the movers no showed me. I did have a police officer there to get my stuff for legal reasons and they said they didn't want to be involved. They never even called to tell me I had to call and find out they wasn't coming. Because of this I have to go back to court and get another court order so I can get my stuff again. So here is my story. In September of 2015 I hired this company to help me with moving. A team of 3 people came on time on Saturday morning. I had a townhouse with 3 bedrooms to be moved. With help of my boyfriend the move was finished after dark. ..I found it to be very slow. It cost me $900. So at the end of this I ended up with a broken $1000 lighting fixture, a scratched desk, a scratched dresser, broken coffee table and ruined walls on 3 floors. I made an official complaint and got an acknowledgment on Sept 26. They informed me that they had 90 days to address my complaints. So in 2 months after a number of phone calls and empty promises I lost my patience and initiated bad reviews on Angie's list (since I used their special), Yelp , Google and BBB. So since I filed those complained before their 90 day window, the owner yielded at me and said that he was not going to do anything even though officially they told BBB that they were coming to fix the problems. I had to reopen the complaint with BBB. This time we had mediation and came to an agreement for them to fix a dresser and a chair, repair my glass side table if possible or compensate me ($200) for it and fix the walls within a certain period of time. They came in, fixed a dresser and a chair (not perfectly by any means but ok), picked up my side table for a repair and....did a horrible job on my walls. They did touch ups throughout my entire house and touched up spots where they were not needed and now I had obvious spots as paint didn't match. One wall that was supposed to be painted completely was painted in a middle and looked worse than before. But apparently they didn't have time to finish it. So I was supposed to take time off again...I couldn't take this anymore and didn't want to see them in my house at that point. After additional complains to BBB and a bunch of phone calls we were able to settle at $250 ( $200 for a side table and $50 toward fixing walls since they were not doing them) which they paid on April 30. So 5 months later I can finally put this case behind me. read more

The two packers showed up about an hour late but went right to work. They worked very hard but there was to much for only two women to pack in one day. They started out fine but as the day went on they started getting fed up with each other and occasionally fighting and disgusted with one another. After they had packed about 8 hours my wife and myself started packing because there was no way they would finish and the movers were to be there the next morning to load. We packed with them until 11pm and I called the owner to voice my displeasure with him only sending two packers. He was very rude especially when I told him I paid to be packed not to spend 6 hours of our time to help his packers. I told him I expected a adjustment on the packing cost and he went ballistic. They were supposed to pack garage also but at 11pm they had to quit and garage was untouched. The movers showed up the next morning and worked fast. They were working so fast they couldn't really take care of furniture like they should have. We have an expensive leather couch and recliners and all of them had damaged leather when they unloaded at the new home. The bedroom Ethan Allen furniture nightstand round foot was split and a chunk chipped. The armoire base had a chip in it. The guest bed wood side panel was scraped about 3ft long. The front door to home was really chipped and deep gouges in it from carelessness. I didn't discover this damage until they left so several days later I called the office to tell them about the damage. It took about 6 calls and being told each time that damage paperwork for me to fill out would be emailed . It wasn't after about 5 phone calls and then on the 6th after I screamed at the office guy that I was tired of his lies that he finally sent forms . The form was finally emailed and I sent back same day and that was a month ago and no response. This mover is a SHAM. Do yourself a favor and RUN away from them as fast as you can. They may be fine for a small apartment move but not for a large house that has nice furniture if you care about it. read more

They had the lowest bid, they arrived on time - both to pack in Conroe and to unload in our new home on another day in Leander. And best of all, not one piece of furniture or item was damaged or broken. Each member of the crew was friendly, hard working, and very professional. Moving is a tedious and stressful situation and these guys were so hard working and good natured that they made the entire experience a fun time. I found this company on Groupon, and they are the first business I have ever used through the site that I will NEVER use again. The movers arrived and seemed pleasant enough, but were moving very slowly. They did not understand what they described as a "new" contract the company was using and then they broke one of my dresser drawers. If that was not enough when I called the company to find out exactly how the claims process with them worked, the ignorant and belligerent woman who answered the phone (her name was Heather) told me that I needed to pay the workers and sign the contract before she called the police on me for non-payment of service. Gotta agree with Nathan M and many others on the service or lack thereof..an update from the small claims suit we brought against these ppl for the damage to our piano. We had our day in court after a 2 year battle and the case was dismissed on a technical issue. Our mistake, we sued the individual instead of the company. Actually have the certified document in hand now where this company "had its right to transact business in Texas forfeited Sept 25 2015 for failure to satisfy franchise tax requirements". Their corporate charter was forfeited Jan 29 2016 and it took til Nov 28 2016..(11 months) to have it reinstated..be really careful who you do business with folks. Check them out further with the Better Business Bureau. Check them out with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles too.If anyone would like to see our proof - just let me know.
