Overall, pretty good. We went there on a Friday for Dinner (6 pmish) and it was pretty empty. We were a bit nervous, but decided to try them anyway. We were happily surprised with how fresh and not overcooked most of the food was. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. We plan to come back, possibly on a Saturday or Sunday when it is busier. Went for the Christmas Day buffet. The staff were so sweet and welcoming. Was clean, well stocked, with lots of variety. Crab legs, shrimp, sushi, poki Roast beef 10 different ice cream flavors My favorite is the sesame balls. My friends had the egg drop soup that they really liked . Chocolate fountain with fruit for dipping . I would definitely recommend going. It was $34 per person for Christmas Day. Not sure I would pay that all the time, but we appreciate them being open for Christmas. read more

Still great! Came for lunch, love the sushi selection especially the jalapeno sushi and fried salmon skin. Large variety of food to choose from for around $19. One waitress is super nice and helpful. We came here for my mom's birthday. We are finding that there really does not seem to be any real good buffets in SD anymore. We used to frequent a different place on Miramar but I don't believe it's open anymore. We headed out around 4 pm on a Sunday. We got there; there was plenty of parking. We went inside and took a walk around to see what they had to offer. They seemed to have cold seafood, some sushi in the front area. Fruits/ jellos right next to the chocolate fountain. I think the idea of the fountain is fun for kids but it isn't exactly that tasty. Then there was a section for desserts and a freezer of Thrifty's ice cream. Most of it was sherbert or some gelati (Italian sorbet -like). They had chocolate, vanilla, coffee and strawberry ice cream. They had a make your own s'mores bar which is good for kids. Hot food section, fried egg rolls, chonuts (Chinese donuts)some chicken wings, French fries, etc. They had hot crab legs, HUGE oysters, crayfish, clams, steamed Rex sole, snails!! and even duck! and the typical Chinese dishes as well. They carried typical soups and a few 'dim sum' like items. They had a slab of brisket out. Next stop was the noodle station as well as Teppanyaki grill. We got some galbi fried up, I have to say that was pretty delicious. It was a tad salty but we grabbed the ones sitting in the marinade. We were disappointed in the crab here, it didn't have much flavor at all, it should have some salt from the ocean but none of that. As if the crab legs were rinsed until there was no flavor. They did have a 10% discount for seniors, and you can print out a $2 off coupon for dinner. That isn't much for a table of 5. I will say that the staff were definitely working nonstop and they did a good job of putting out new food and replacing the dishes. It was also very clean at this restaurant. My mom said she had never been to such a clean bathroom at a buffet place. My mom did note that everything was not overly salty like a lot of buffets. That was a huge plus since she has to watch her salt intake. Would I come again? I might consider it down the road, but I would hope that some things would change. It's been a while since our last visit here, I believe it was 3 years ago and I remember back then this buffet is really good, but on our recent visit it seems like the food was not as good as before. They all look good and were presented well but it's just not that tasty anymore , but some are still good and still they have lots of Seafood selections . The place was not packed at all either, it was probably a weekday. We will try this buffet again over the weekend to see if the selections of food will be good and much better. At least we didn't get sick. We visited on a Saturday around 6 pm and were a bit surprised to see the place nearly empty? We were promptly greeted and seated. Off to the buffet high hopes and thought at first everything looked great but, sad to say, that didn't last. Nothing...and I mean nothing...tasted like it should. Shrimps were yucky even with a generous amount of cocktail sauce. Salt/pepper wings and shrimp of which I'm a big fan were just not good at all. The snow crab legs were well stocked but seemingly ignored, I think because no one went for seconds. They were cooked in....well I don't know what they were cooked in but the taste was only of salt, these were snow crab legs and small and I could barely stand three. (no butter available that I could see either) Everything I tried was tasteless. There was a teppanyaki station that was unattended. There was a sign saying to 'make a plate and leave it at the counter' Seriously? Ramen station also unattended. The place was clean and staff quickly removed plates so I guess that was the highlight. Bathroom towel dispensers didn't work...had to dry hands on pants...oh well. The place to me just had this feeling of barely hanging in there. And though just my experience, the food items just had this feeling of being recycled so as not to throw anything out. Not trying to be mean but there was a beef carving station where the last piece of roast looked to have been cut a looooong time ago. Was kind of looking forward to the Thrifty ice creme, we used to really enjoy that before the drug store closed. Even that tasted bland somehow. And a piece of advice to restaurant: don't put the last of the melted bottom of the old ice creme bucket on top of new bucket, it looks yucky. Two people with one beer and one soju was $95. I liked the variety of food to choose from. Everything was fresh or hot. The price for weekend was $34 and it included seafood. Friendly service. It is like your typical Asian buffet. Ambiance was chill. It wasn't as crowded or packed as other buffets so it was kind of nice not dealing with lines while grabbing food. The ice cream here was thrifty's so I liked that ! I even ask the server politely if they can pull out the mussels because I'm so scared that someone can eat it and get sick or die no kidding. Yesterday, I went to have a buffet with my family. I went with my wife and our 8-year-old son. After the meal, both my wife and I had stomachaches and diarrhea once. But my son, as of today, while I'm writing these lines, it's about 3 p.m., still has a very bad stomachache and feels like vomiting. I think the food was really, really problematic. Yesterday, I ate a portion of soup noodles that had something like intestines or guts in it. I even smelled a detergent-like odor in it, and I had to throw it up right away. The other foods seemed like they had been fried over and over again, or something like that, but the food, to be honest, was really terrible. I am very, very disappointed. This used to be a place my family visited very, very often over the years, but it's been quite a long time since I returned. This time, I am really disappointed. I hope my son will be okay. It's really poor for a young child, only 8 years old, to have to suffer like this. I don't think my family and I will ever come back here again. I hope that everyone is careful when they come to eat here. This was hands down one of the best buffets I've ever been too. From the quick service to the variety and freshness of the food, this place has it all! This place is very large and can easily accommodate large groups, there was plenty of TVs as well and a full bar! The variety of food was outstanding, there was sushi, seafood, meat, bao buns, and tons more! There was so much to choose from and everything I got I loved! The frog legs were the BEST I've ever had. They were so moist and crunchy and had excellent flavor. I also loved the fried rice, Mongolian beef, the hot and cold crab legs and the sushi! The sushi was outstanding for a buffet and there was tons of options! They even had sea snails, that was fun to try. The s'mores station was so unique and so cute, as well as the cotton candy and chocolate fountain. The banana pudding is also a must try. 12/27/2024 - I went here Friday around 11:15am. There was just two families here. The food is spread out which I like which forces you to walk around and not be stuck in a line. A great variety of food to choose from. I printed a $1 off per person coupon. The prices are a little higher than I was expecting and we did the lunch option. They have a hot soup and wok area as well. It was very clean in there and punctual removing dishes. I love the signs to not waste food. Negatives - salt and pepper shrimp were large but not flavorful and the garlic stump was below average. The crab fried rice which is usually a Thailand dish wasn't flavorful. Positives- the sushi was a good variety and rest, lots of veggies and cold/hot items to choose from. I loved the Chinese donuts, General TSO and the salt and pepper squid the best. Came here with my son after a day of work. We were both excited to eat! My son's eyes opened wide when he saw their layout and variety of foods. We both hit up the buffet and swallowed far more than $30 worth of seafood. (pics attached) I started with sashimi and rolls, then moved to nigiri, then crab legs. It was awesome! I ate so much I didn't have much room for dessert.. Service was attentive until I wanted to leave, I couldn't find anyone to give me my check. The only thing I thought was weird was the music they were playing pretty loud. It is an Asian restaurant, serving seafood/ Chinese, and playing deep Hip Hop/ R&B tracks. Like huh?? I have a last try for this place after being a royal customer for so many years before Covid. Extremely disappointed, the food are old, sesame balls are hard as rock, you can tell those are old and reheated. The lady cleaned the table the floor without washing her hands, and walked to the sushi bar, used her raw hands grabbed the few sushis from one plate to another one, that just disgusted me. Decent buffet for the price. I initially thought it was on the pricier side but I guess now with how inflation has got us all its actually not bad for all that you get. We went yesterday on a Wednesday night around 6-7pm so it wasn't packed but had people trickling in for dinner. The price for an adult dinner was $30. They do have kids pricing based on age and height. So just to give you an idea my son is pretty tall for an 11 y/o but he was under 50" so he was 1/2 the adult dinner price $15. The buffet had a pretty good buffet of items. There were little portions inside the trays but they were continuously being filled. I prefer that anyway so the food's not sitting out too long and gets stale. They have disposable utensils. I really enjoyed their menu selection. They do have a hot grill to warm up any foods or for the noodle station grill. Their bathrooms were clean. Their floors were not sticky. They have a wide assortment of dishes. Plenty of parking. It was my first time eating here in a long time. It has probably been over a year or so. My experience was average, not terrible but also not amazing. I didn't have high expectations to begin with just because I'm familiar with this style of buffets. At the time that I came in, there was only one worker who sat us down and took drink orders and another who was clearing out plates. It was a little difficult to call someone over for assistance because there were only two of them helping out all of the tables. This is a good place to come to if your party is looking to have a variety of food. The food here was good and fresh, however some items were better quality than others. One item that really impressed me with the quality was the salmon at the sushi portion of the buffet. Their salmon sashimi looked and tasted fresh. I used to steer away from the sushi portion of buffets because the quality isn't good, but the fish I had was really good. For the nigiri and the rolls they had, I do wish the rice was better. It was hard and didn't seem like it was your typical short-grain sushi rice. I also enjoyed the dessert here. I liked how they had the s'mores station and thrifty ice cream. read more
