The world needs more buffets. Chinese buffets feel like such a thing of the past and that is just a sad, sad thing. The food is pretty simple but there's a lot of options. We came a few times just because we knew we weren't gonna get this again in nyc. Honestly the chicken on a stick was delicious. Super tender. I was pleasantly surprised by the yellow curry- it was delicious. The food was overall pretty good. The one thing we didn't like was that there was no spice level customization and some of the dishes were too hot for my guests to enjoy. We ordered delivery and it took about an hour to get to us. Way over priced. Quality of the food was disgusting. Especially the sushi. Even the hot rolls were stone cold. All had cream cheese and fake crab meat. Hard pass. What I did eat terribly upset my stomach. It was dirty and I wouldn't advise highly suggest saving your money and not eating here! read more

We went for lunch, and the food was absolutely fantastic. They have to be one of the best buffets I've been to. All the food was very flavorful, especially the egg cream desert. The price of lunch was also very affordable and well worth the price. They are honestly the nicest buffets I've been to in NKY, and the restaurant was very nice and easily accessible. read more

Got to be the most unfriendly restaurant ever. The staff does not talk, does not smile, won't look at you, totally unfriendly which is against the first rule in customer service. The food was bland, but OK if you're looking for a stomach fill-up. Some of the diners are sketchy in sense of appearance. Couldn't wear some fresh clothes, take a shower? That's not the restaurant's fault, but still. And what's with the super-loud talking, even with foul language. Totally unenjoyable place. read more

Decided to bring 26 people for a Birthday party. I gave them a week's notice and they said they had a room that was separate from main dining. It worked out perfectly. Food was constantly refreshed, they had plenty of friendly and efficient staff. Staff also didn't seem to mind us getting up, walking around and visiting each other ( some places are annoyed by this behavior). We would definitely do another party here. Thank you to the hard working employees cooking, cleaning and refreshing the food. read more

All right so I'm going to admit right now that I came here right after having my first colonoscopy. I hadn't eaten anything for 2 days and I was starving. So what's a better place to get your money's worth then an Asian buffet! I've been here a couple of times and the staff is always friendly. They make sure you have enough to drink and they're always coming by to collect plates. The food here is pretty decent. I'm not going to say it's great because I have yet to be at any Asian buffet where the food is all great. But the crab cheese wontons are full of cheese and flavor, The coconut shrimp is more dense than other places I've been to, the sushi is satisfying, and all the other staples are there. There's really nothing that I can do to score this place down. You can also finish off with a good dessert as they have many different ice creams and little cakes to choose from. You're definitely going to get your money's worth here and I have to say, it was an excellent choice to come here after my colonoscopy. Spacious atmosphere. Plenty of staff. Crab rangoons were fantastic. As were the fried donuts. In hindsight, I should have ordered those two things to go. Buffet is fine/typical. Though hardly anything has a label. Several options for kids (chicken fingers, mac n cheese, pizza). Will update if I get sick as a lot of the reviews in the past year mention that's a risk... I didn't read that until after I started eating so, fingers crossed! *updated to say, I did not get sick. But I recommend either not eating with your hands, or sanitizing after you get you food and before you eat. Obviously lots of people touching the serving utensils. read more

Got talked into a buffet by the family, and seeing how this one was the closest to the Target we had to swing by, this won by default. The selections were pretty good, it tasted okay, and it didn't seem overly expensive. The rose chicken, crab Rangoon, and coconut shrimp being some of my favs. Hot and sour soup was too spicy, the egg rolls weren't good, and a lot of the dishes just seemed like fried dough. My lo mein was figgity, my fried rice was figgity, the sweet and sour sauce was absolutely figgity AND the cheesy crab was figgity. I also have to mention the bourbon chicken was FIGGITY aka burnt to the moon and back. Over priced for the quality of food offered, will not be going back... under most circumstances. I will say the service was as expected and the dining experience was nice. Every-time I left to get a new plate refilled I came back to my old residual taken by the waitress and my water was always topped off and tasted very refreshing. I go there often for lunch, for $10, it really reasonable. Most food are good, typical to go Chinese dish, but not over powered by sugar. sushi is fresh made. Like other reviews said, the service is not that great. However, I'm not expecting steak house experience in a Chinese buffet anyway read more

I've eaten at New China Buffet for YEARS, and I've never had a bad experience. I have no idea what the bad reviews are about. I've eaten at other Chinese buffets and been very disappointed, only to return to New China Buffet. Everything is good, everything is fresh. It gets busy at times so obviously supplies can run low on certain items, but it's never been a problem for me. Great buffet! read more

It's gone downhill as their input prices have gone up the last year. I haven't noticed the same decline at the buffet in Norwood, and they're equidistant to me. Accordingly I won't be back other than maybe to check on their quality in a year. And after this last meal, the thought of returning is fairly unappetizing. read more

About a week ago we picked up takeout - pepper steak and Kung Pao chicken. My husband said the Pepper Steak was just okay. My order was wrong, but it was a chicken dish. The chicken had a strange texture and the entire dish had very little flavor. Prices were not accurate on their website, but I knew that at the end of placing my phone order. First off I got food poisoning the last time I was here about 2 years ago haven't been back since. Before that I found food in my drink and I didn't even take a drink yet. So I'm a dumb ass for even coming back here but how in the living hell is this place so expensive. I could have went to a high quality steak house for what I paid. $65! Holy shit. Now keep in mind I brought a 4 year old and a 6 year old. Guess how much they ate? Like half a plate eat. My oldest ate 1 plate and I had 2. If I went to a steak house I could have gotten two large steaks and two kids dinners for around the 70-80 range. Another weird thing is they seem to be blatantly ignoring covid safety guide lines they just pack everyone together even though they have so much seating room and their not wearing any masks. Like I feel genuinely ripped off. Oh and this time there was a piece of a napkin stuck to my fork and it wasn't from the brand new one it came in. Like wtf is going on with this place. read more

I always look forward to Chinese Buffet styled restaurants, but this is one trip I will always regret. The food was all cold and flavorless. (No it isn't Covid- I can taste my gum and drink perfectly fine) I HATE wasting food, but with how cold the food was i did not finish it in fear of how long it had been sitting open to the air. Do you like your food hot temperature wise? Like your food with flavor? Then don't come here. I have been here 3 times, once during the day for lunch, once in the evening and once for Sunday lunch. Won't go again. Some say this is the best Chinese buffet around, I am sad to say it probably is and these poor people have no clue what a 'good' buffet is. All three times the food has been luke warm AT BEST. No flavor to speak of. Sunday is apparently seafood day. They do have salt and pepper crab but no legs. I tend to like these and got a half dozen. One was warm, the others might have been in the frig. The only saving grace was the hot tea and the frog legs. Not worth the price to be sure. read more

This used to be my "go to" place for Chinese buffet. The last couple of years, however ( and this could be COVID related ), i have noticed a steady decline in the preparation, quality and overall availability of food in the buffet. Cases in point: The Peanut Chicken used to be lightly fried chicken swimming in peanut sauce. Now, it's over cooked chicken or burned chicken sitting a puddle of watered down peanut juice. On Sunday, they used to have a huge spread of sushi and nigiri. Now, it's a thrown together assembly of California-style rolls. On the weekends, during the lunch rush, you can walk through the buffet islands and count up the trays void of food. At one time, they were filling these trays way before they were empty. You *could* chalk all this up to be nit picky. You're probably right. But, when you find a place that excels at what they do only to diminish in quality, you take notice. read more

This place may be my new favorite Chinese buffet. I tried it for the first time since I was in the area and was very pleased with the selection. There were several things that I really liked such as the chicken on a stick and the crab rangoons but surprisingly what I enjoyed the most was the roasted potatoes. I know that sounds crazy for a Chinese buffet but these were excellent. I think I could have made a meal with just the potatoes. Overall I was pleased with the service and the cleanliness of the place. I can't wait to go back again. read more

My criteria for China Buffet restaurants---- clean bathrooms, service, well maintained steam tables, peel & eat shrimp, egg rolls. They hit all of these points. While they did have good peel & eat shrimp, they didn't do a good job keeping the it full. Their cocktail sauce was awful. I suppose I could have improvised by getting wasabi and adding ketchup. The egg roll was very good. They also have sushi and other salads. I liked the shrimp & vegetables as well as the lo mein. The coconut shrimp was covered with a white, possibly coconut sauce. Not your typical coconut shrimp which has a fried coconut coating, although it was very bready. The service was very good. Bathrooms were clean. Price was very reasonable. read more

I didn't consider that when I ordered but it really was very sweet and not at all spicy. I felt like it's something akin to what you may get at Panda Express. I should have stuck to the traditional Chinese dishes. But overall and for the price I will certainly try it again.
