Better than we both expected. It has gotten a whole lot of bad reviews but the last time we ordered from here it turned out mostly okay. New China Hut has a few locations and this is the one in Aurora on New York Street . Has pretty typical Chinese restaurant food items. The menu also has some vegetarian friendly choices including the one we got that has tofu. Came in this location recently to get carryout. It seems like it only gets business this way because there's never anyone inside. They seem to prefer customers place their orders by phone or takeout. A lot of times we came by the inside is closed and no one is sitting eating inside. There's only a couple of inside tables. I ordered the Kung Pao Tofu at lunch. It's $11.35 for the only portion. This is one of the only vegetarian friendly choices here, and the only with tofu and not just vegetables. It only comes in the one size, as large. This has green peppers, mushrooms, onions, pea pods, and peanuts in a spicy Szechuan sauce. After eating it, both of us thought it was much better than expected. The issue of freshness and whatever others had issues with wasn't a problem. Good lunch meals and pretty big portions the last time we came here. I don't like to write reviews, but in this case, I thought I had to since I got sick! I ordered Shrimp Fried and Orange chicken on Feb 4. My Chinese restaurant does not use DoorDash or Uber. I ate my food. 20-30 minutes later I got Excruciating stomach pain. I ran to the bathroom feeling like I had to go, before I made there I threw up violently. The food even looked recycled. The rice was discolored. Like they added white rice to it. The white rice was hard, different texture from the rest of the rice. Something was definitely WRONG. Ordered this for pickup and we are never coming back. General Tso's chicken is very rubbery. It is either super overcooked or cheaply made. There is not enough sauce and it's more onion than chicken. I used to like this place. But over the past year or so, I've had bad experiences. The hot and sour soup has so much egg in it, that it looks more like egg drop soup and completely over salted . I've order twice recently switching up from my regular spot and this is my new favorite.. I get the beef with pea pods and water chestnuts which is so tasty, tender beef and delicious sauce. I also get egg rolls and chicken fried rice, both wonderful. The chicken fried rice had nice bit chunks of chicken in it which I really liked. I can't wait to try more items because everything was so good. The delivery drivers were very kind too. Great restaurant! 9/19/15 This is a updated review and I'm not too happy with this place!! I thought it was a good place to get some food in the suburbs but I was proven wrong today... I ordered shrimp fried rice and orange chicken and a side order of the crab Rangoon... I love shrimp fried rice but I will never eat from here again because they do not clean the shrimp properly!! I found shrimp in its shell.. And shrimp with that little gross black line running down its back... Yuck.. You know what that is... I don't understand why it's so hard to clean to the food that you want to serve to your customers.. I threw that shrimp fried rice out!! The orange chicken was bland.. The only good thing that came out of this place was my crab Rangoon and that's why it got a star... I won't be eating here.. I'm sad now.. Oh gosh lee what do I eat.. This dog water business fucks their customers over. They triple their prices on any food delivery service and slap a buy one get one free label on it to make you think are getting a deal. If they are blatantly displaying their true menu on their own website while doing this bs at the same time, I'm now curious on what corners they cut in the kitchen. Do NOT get food from New China Hut at 3015 E New York. I opened my Sweet and Sour chicken and had a nice little visitor floating in the sauce. I contacted the restaurant and they refused to refund me. I have been a customer there for 20 years. After putting me on hold rudely (just dropping the phone on the counter), having conversations with the female employee who repeatedly said "no" over and over; he then argued with me and wanted to come and pick up the sauce...which is fine...but then told me that he is only going to give me a discount on a future order. I protested and told him he's treating me like I'm running a scam and I have been a customer for 20 years with no issues ever. I asked him was my $38 order worth losing a 20 year customer over, because I will never order from them again based on his response. I worked in the restaurant industry for years, these things happen and aren't overtly a reflection of the cleanliness of the restaurant overall. I was willing to give them a chance if they properly addressed this. His exact words were "don't worry about it, our business is good. We don't need your money."...which is ironic because the pending charge is now $52 on a $38 order...and they shorted me egg rolls. Service was good. I ordered takeout, General Tao chicken in "spicy plum sauce". I could taste plum, but no spice. Also tried vegetable eggrolls. The food needed flavor, you know? Soy sauce or maybe some MSG... but the portion size was huge. I will get 4 lunches from 1 large order of chicken, so that makes it cost effective. I noticed other reviewers mentioned that you don't get cutlery, napkins, sauce packets or a fortune cookie. I think that's why I got more actual chicken. Had a better impression of this food the second time around. We had beef with broccoli, which was excellent. Beef was very tender, tasty. The chicken chop suey was as good as before, very nicely done tender chicken with all the veges you expect: bean sprouts, bok choy , water chestnuts, etc. The BBQ pork egg foo yung patties were good, the gravy was not sweet this time which was a welcome change. It was a little thick tho and didn't spread out good when I put it on some white rice. The beef fried rice was excellent, nice and dark with perfectly done beef. Take out order was nice and hot. Ordered in person (szechuan shrimp), the bald guy behind the counter asked if I want lunch special or regular. I asked for the difference, he said lunch special is $6.99 and less than regular which was ~$9ish. I ordered the lunch special, the guy says ok, the. Proceeds to charge me $9 and change for the lunch special. I asked him why is he charging $9+ and he said they raised the prices!!! 20 seconds before he told me it was $6.99, after charging me he says oh we raised the price. I told him to cancel the order he supposedly did, the proceeds to tell me everything is more expensive. I don't mind paying more, but I have people lying to me. read more

I was too tired to cook dinner the other night, so ordering in it was! My husband suggested New China Hut since we hadn't tried it yet and they're located right around the corner from us. The delivery was speedy, especially with the weather, but honestly the food was just meh. We both agreed we've had better. Here's how our order went: Crabmeat Rangoon (6 for $4.95) -- the rangoons themselves were pretty large, but they didn't have enough crab filling which was disappointing. Egg Rolls (2 for $2.95) -- I didn't try these, my husband ate them. He said they were just OK. House Special (Pork, Chicken & Shrimp) Chow Fun ($9.75) -- This was my meal and it was HUGE. It honestly could have fed 4 people. I actually liked this noodle dish. The shrimp, pork, chicken and veggies were good and so was the sauce. My only complaint was that it had way too much gravy. House Special (Pork, Chicken, & Shrimp) Fried Rice ($5.15 for a small) -- The hubbie's meal. This made me look like a big fatty, but lesson learned. He said the fried rice was good, but nothing special. Regardless, he finished his meal. Our total came to $32 with tip. I don't think we'll be in a rush to order from here again. There's just no wow factor. Other yelpers seem to enjoy it though, so maybe we'll try a dine in experience at some point. read more

We order sometimes from here because it's very close. It's ok takeout food. Some of the items we ordered in the past are the Kung pao and sesame chickens. Like most Chinese places, there's a lot of breading but I think there's even more with them. The salt and pepper shrimp is always a little too salty. Their different fried rices and noodles dishes are ok. We do like the smelt fish. Prices are ok. If your hungry and you need some Chinese food close by, then it's ok to order from them...that's primarily when we use them otherwise we go to better places for Chinese. read more
