    Crab rangoon and eggroll
    Maggie M.

Think I found my new Chinese Takeout. Had the lunch special and you get a good amount for just $8.50. Was my lunch for 2 days. I picked Kung Pao Chicken with fried rice. It wasn't spicy to me, so maybe next time I'll ask for extra spicy. But the flavors were great. Wasn't very salty, so I didn't have that dehydrated feeling afterwards. Was piping hot when I got it. Also had ordered crab rangoon and eggroll to try. Crab rangoon was crispy outside and a good amount of filling inside. The eggroll were pretty big too and to me it taste the same as all other eggrolls. So I'll probably just get the crab rangoon again next time for an appetizer.

    Kung Pao Vegetables And Tofu

Big portions at pretty good prices which is a rarity around here. It has some lunch specials so you can save even more. New Wok is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Naperville. Certainly it's one of the cheapest. This is only for takeout. I picked up an order at lunch. Look at the lunch specials and you'll find some great savings. The one I got was the Kung Pao Vegetables. It's $6.95 for the lunch special, which comes with an egg roll, which I gave to my female friend as we shared the meal. Tofu doesn't come with this but it's added for a couple bucks to make it $9.20 or so. It's still a good price for the big portion. There was so much some had to be put in one of those paper takeout containers too. It had a good spice to it. The tofu was too soft for my liking but it and everything else was better than just okay. Good prices for how much they give. It's quite a value for a few bucks at lunch. This is a very small place so it's only for takeout.

Egg Roll Party Tray BE10. Mongolian Beef

The Mongolian beef was tender, and perfectly flavored. The egg rolls were crispy and packed with delicious filling. Both dishes were a hit at our gathering, and everyone kept asking where we got the food from. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was delivered hot and fresh. I highly recommend this place for their excellent food and great service!

3/17/2024 UPDATE: Can confirm they are open again. Hours are the same as what is listed in Yelp. Online ordering not active yet. Ordered by phone and picked up 15 minutes later. Food was good enough for me to leave my five star rating How do we get the store marked open again?

The food wasn't bad, but it's not anything I'd come back for. The egg rolls were spot on and I would get crab rangoon.

The eggs rolls had very little inside them, but were pleasant enough fried dough. All of the chicken dishes seem to have a pressed chicken--not sliced or real chicken. Pleasant enough, but kind of strange. The Almond Ding had separate almonds, which was nice and Chick with peadpods appeared to have a little bit of real mushrooms and some real pea pods in it--but they lacked fresh flavor. The sauce is very bland, and kind of like a globby-like texture. There's a lack of any Chinese vegetables. No Bok Choy, no bamboo shoots, very few water chestnuts, no green pepper. Just tons of pressed chicken, and a bland white sauce. My husband's Orange Chicken was supposed to be hot but was not. It was pleasant but same pressed chicken now breaded (much better cover for pressed chicken). Lack of veggies in all the dishes. Would we go back? Probably not. Ended up throwing half of it away. Honestly, Panda Express is probably just as good which is kind of sad.

I do get DoorDash occasionally, and most of the time it is out of convenience. I do have (via a credit card) a free DashPass account, so I take advantage of the lower fees and zero delivery charge whenever I can. It was pouring out, I felt awful for the delivery person. But, I went with Shrimp Toast, the Egg rolls (2 orders), and the Beef Chow Fun (Small). First of all the deal they offered on these items was really great! All in, including tip, the cost of the meal was $31. Eating in a hotel room poses its challenges, but the restaurant packed the food in containers where you could eat from them easily but also it kept the food warmer since it was still in the "to-go" boxes with the metal handle. I love shrimp toast, so whenever I see it on a menu I'm like Pavlov's Dog. I get that, and who doesn't love egg rolls. Since Covid, most Chinese restaurant's pricing has gone aggressively up- so I look for deals like this on DoorDash whenever I can. The delivery driver brought the meal to my door, there's an overhang by the front door and the hotel only has 3 floors...my hotel room was so close to the elevator the driver had issues finding it ha! Anyway, I thought for the price, the food was tasty, generous, and exactly what I needed for the moment.
