My company has an office in Naperville, and I have been staying near Naper Rd area at a Fairfield Inn for almost 18 months now. I do get DoorDash occasionally, and most of the time it is out of convenience. I do have (via a credit card) a free DashPass account, so I take advantage of the lower fees and zero delivery charge whenever I can. It was pouring out, I felt awful for the delivery person. But, I went with Shrimp Toast, the Egg rolls (2 orders), and the Beef Chow Fun (Small). First of all the deal they offered on these items was really great! All in, including tip, the cost of the meal was $31. Eating in a hotel room poses its challenges, but the restaurant packed the food in containers where you could eat from them easily but also it kept the food warmer since it was still in the "to-go" boxes with the metal handle. I love shrimp toast, so whenever I see it on a menu I'm like Pavlov's Dog. I get that, and who doesn't love egg rolls. Since Covid, most Chinese restaurant's pricing has gone aggressively up- so I look for deals like this on DoorDash whenever I can. The delivery driver brought the meal to my door, there's an overhang by the front door and the hotel only has 3 floors...my hotel room was so close to the elevator the driver had issues finding it ha! Anyway, I thought for the price, the food was tasty, generous, and exactly what I needed for the moment. I would recommend ordering from here, but look out for those deals online where you can get them. read more

I ordered Eggplant Garlic which came with steaming rice, eggplant and garlic, two egg rolls, and that awesome sauce. It was a great meal and gave a lot of servings. I'd say the service was great, not only from the restaurant on consistent tasty food but the food app driver was great in giving me timing on when he would drop off the meal. Beef chop suey was absolutely terrible. The meat didn't taste like beef or pork. It had a rubber texture with a lot of fat on it. The gravy taste like soy sause mixed with water. No flavor to it. If the only thing I'd ordered was the hot n sour soup, I'd give it 5 stars. I ordered garlic sauce chicken and it was okay. The sauce needs something else to give it a little oomph. The nice thing is the chicken wasn't fried, so I did appreciate that. The chicken fried rice, as usual, was tasty and the crab Rangoon was very good too. The hot n sour soup? Yeah that's the real star here. You know how you try something once and you compare all others to it after that? Yeah, that's the hot n sour soup from here. Place is hit or miss on the food. Last week when I was there the hot and sour soup tasted like I was licking a salt block. Normally the food I would say is above average at least better than Panda Express . The service ranges from average to poor. Last week there was a surprise 18 percent service charge on the bill when we got the bill. Our table were only 4 people and we were the only table seated. Chinese Kitchen is located on the second floor of a little plaza, but don't miss it! If you're looking for good value for the money, you won't be disappointed here. It's spacious and good for small or large groups here, and service is friendly and fast. The menu is mostly Americanized but you'll find some authentic items here and there. I loved the Singapore noodles I ordered, and my family each had tons of food left over to take home. This is my second time here. On my first visit, I had the Sesame Chicken, which was delightfully crispy though there was some confusion with the bill. We had asked for separate checks and they gave us one check. My husband was with me on my second visit. I ordered Mu Shu Pork and he General Tso's Chicken for carry out. My pork was delicious. My husband's Chicken not so. It seemed old, only a minimal amount of broccoli and it wasn't spicy though the menu indicated it should have been. The prices are good with most ítems under $10. So far, it seems to be hit or miss for this hole in the wall. Shockingly good for the price and odd location. It's upstairs in a strip mall. The waitress recommended the house special and I was not disappointed. The lunch specials are very reasonably priced and came with an egg roll and your choice of soup. I definitely recommend the hot and sour soup. We also ordered the orange chicken but if you're looking for a Panda Express flavored orange chicken you will be disappointed. It's more like sweet and sour chicken without the veggies. This is my family's new favorite Chinese /American style/ takeout spot in the area. The flavors are what I want from my favorite dishes. The egg rolls are the best I've tried of the Chicagoland style, I love the (house made?) sweet and sour, definitely some of the better fried rice around, and the salt and pepper tofu is amazing. Prices are reasonable, and the hostess is so charming and polite! It's in a somewhat odd and unassuming location, but don't let that deter you. I'm sad it took me so long to try it out! read more

This is hands-down my favorite Chinese restaurant in existence. I'm 52 years old and have lived in or traveled much of the world, especially when in the army. So I've had the opportunity to eat it many Chinese restaurants in many countries. And this one has the greatest food for an amazing price! I've never dined in so I really can't comment about that. I live about three blocks away and get takeout many times every week. The guy who works up front is always friendly and very helpful. One of the reasons I knew this was going to be a good place is when I saw Shrimp Toast on the menu back in 2004 when I came here for the first time. I don't know why I'll Chinese restaurants don't serve it! They also make great smoothies, watermelon in particular is my favorite. Like I said before, the price can't be beat. You can get a small dinner entrée for between $6.50 to $8.00. I'm 6'3" and weigh about 240 lbs. and the portion is enough to satisfy me. Chinese Kitchen is definitely more American than Chinese, and I have room for both, but this was below average. I would compare it to reheated frozen foods - it doesn't taste terrible, and it satisfies your hunger/cravings, but I wouldn't say it's good either. I had the chicken chop suey lunch special with fried rice, salt and pepper tofu and wonton soup. Although I normally prefer low sodium, everything tasted very bland. I was expecting the traditional salt and pepper fried tofu, but this was not it as it's a stir fry dish. Not much flavor in the broth, and the wontons were a quarter meat, mostly wrapper. This place may be fine if you want to eat healthier as the food had less salt and oil than most Chinese restaurants, but the trade-off is taste. For me, this would be a pass in the future. read more

Sesame chicken left me thinking where's the chicken? Way to much breading and not much chicken. Sauce is sweet and good. The vegetables were buried in a white sauce and were soggy. This place is ok when you know what to expect - an old style greasy spoon Chinese place. They have a very large selection of lunch specials in the $6 - $6.50 range, and you get a lot for your $6 - tea, soup, large egg roll, and a large entree. Food is greasy, but it's not a bad occasional place for those mindful of their budget, and who aren't looking for gourmet dining. There was a solid stream of lunchtime customers, all Caucasian except for me, if that tells you anything. Due to the Coronavirus issues, my usual, go-to Chinese restaurants were closed, so I went with whatever Door dash was offering. When Chinese Kitchen popped up, I decided to give them a try. Never again! Every dish we ordered was loaded with fat and grease. The egg drop soup had a layer of grease on the top of it that coated the inside of the bowl with an orange film. The fried rice was also very oily and not as flavorful as I am used to. For the most part, our entrees were overcooked and had a greasy aftertaste. Anyway, I ordered chicken chow fun which I had many times and I always enjoy. This place the noodles looked like wheat flour noodles or dumplings. I basically had chicken and dumplings with some vegetables thrown in. It was in a white sauce. I never never had chow fun in a white sauce. Not sure, why I didn't receive the solid firm rice noodles in the usual brown sauce. Maybe, he called to find out if he could pull a fast one. He was successful. This place is straight up take out oriented tasty business with garlic green beans in a flavorful sauce, fried rice with huge chunks of veg not the tiny cube variety. This is not anything other than your neighborhood get the job done consistently reliable Chinese takeout that is easy on the pocket book.. Chicken is always tender in our experience.
