Been coming here for 6 years and it used to be fantastic! They even knew my voice and would tell me my order over the phone before I could say it, lol. I believe there are new owners because the food quality has gone down exponentially. Im not able to get my "extra shrimp on the side" anymore, got home tonight and there was no rice in the bag. I've gone back 3xs after I said its not as good as it used to be, but tonight will be my last time. Spending $35 on takeout should be met with the ability to enjoy eating it. read more

The menu was extensive, and it did smell good when we arrived. I ordered the beef with pineapple and steamed dumplings. Limited soda selection of pepsi products. Only one diet selection. There were a steady stream of customers while we were waiting for our food, which indicates to me that their food must be pretty good. Our meals were good, and we had leftovers for a second meal. The dining room is open, but you order at the counter and get your food in take out containers. The food came out hot and quick, and the service was nice. The pu pu platter was a great way to try lots of the classic appetizers for 2 people. I really loved both the princess chicken and the beef lo mein. The portions were large, and it made awesome leftovers! Plenty of parking in the strip mall! Loads of people whipped in and out with take out orders placed over the phone! The man at the counter (maybe the owner?) was so kind and recommended a couple items. I got the generals chicken with rice and egg rolls (two!) and my husband got the sesame chicken with rice and two crab Rangoon. It was a ton of food, very good and very hot for only $20. Ordered our food to go as we were driving home. When I went in to pick up our order, my first impression was that it's really not a place to dine in any longer, but they were getting plenty of take out business, which is good for them. I only had to wait a few minutes for my food and it was easy to pay at the counter. Once we got home, it was easy to see that we received large portions of each entree. Hubby tried the cashew chicken and I had the Kung Pao triple delight. The cashew chicken was good; however, it had lots of mushrooms, which he does not like. Easy to pick them out though. I enjoyed mine, but will probably order something else the next time. It was a little light on sauce for me, but had plenty of protein and celery in it. The hot & sour soup was good, but not our favorite. This will be an easy neighborhood spot for us for whenever the craving for Chinese food hits! read more

Finding solid Chines food in KC is rare. I am glad I don't live closer to this place as I'd be here once a week. This is really good carry out Chinese. The open kitchen and quick service is nice for carry out. It also gives it a feel of authenticity. If you do dine in, they still package it to go due to being understaffed. Portions were generous. Crab Rangoon was great. And the price was right. If I find myself in this part of town again, I'll be back. read more

Been going here for years for lunch. I really like their chicken broccoli. Freshly and quickly made. Usually in less than 10 minutes. We also like the Mongolian Beef (but there are tons of onions and not as much beef) and their shrimp with lobster sauce. Sometimes I add broccoli with the shrimp for a slight up charge. Shrimp fried rice is also good. I think their egg rolls and crab rangoons are better than most in the area. Actually they're probably the best. In the two or three times that I've ordered from China Dragon this is positively the worst. There was so much grease that I literally had to spread my lo mein out on newspaper to try and soak up some of the grease. The taste of the food was terrible and virtually uneatable; so it pretty much spoiled my lunch. I will not order anything from this place again. read more

I have been a regular customer at this restaurant until today. I will NEVER give them my money again. The big guy that runs the register was EXTREMELY RUDE today when I wanted to correct my order. I accidently ordered a large soup because I thought the size that I normally get was large... well it turns out that the large was not what I wanted, so I simply asked if I could change it. He proceeded to get agitated and made a rude remark of "why do I have to always go through something with you", then he aggressively yanked out the noodles that come with the soup from my bag! After he did all of that with his stank attitude, I told him that he can keep his food and just give me my money back! Then he became even more rude and nasty with the UNPROFESSIONAL remark of "bye felicia" . His remark of having to always go through something with me was false, as I have never had an issue until today! I personally think he's confusing me with another African American woman, he must think we all look alike! This man has truly always given bad customer service, he never smiles, and is always very short and curt in his responses. I have always looked past his lack of respectful customer service, but today he went too far! He was a complete a-hole, and it cost him a customer and bad review. Ordered food online with my card and had my confirmation email yet she said "you no pay" twice loudly. It was lunch time and I received quite the generous portion of Fried Rice AND 2 Egg Rolls for only about $6. The service was friendly and I only waited about 5 minutes for the order. Tasty food here. I have tried quite a few menu items, and have never been disappointed. The orange chicken is the best that I've had at any Chinese restaurant. The spring rolls are so great, as well as the fried dumplings. A hidden gem is the Szechuan chicken. If you are looking for something different try the mu shu. My chicken with mixed veggies lunch ($5.45) was served eight minutes after I ordered at the table. It had a generous portion of moist and tasty fried rice, with a good variety of veggies, a tasty but not too salty sauce, but just a fair amount of okay chicken. The egg roll and crab rangoon were both very good, and I liked the sweet and sour sauce (on every table). The dining area was clean, and nicely decorated, with background sound coming from the TV. I have been a regular for years. I gave it a break because it seems like they changed cooks. I have been going regular again for about 4 months and the food and service has been outstanding. It seems to be under new management and they are even friendly! I ordered food 4-2-20 & the young man actually brought my food outside. I am not a fan of General Tso Chicken but, I happened get some anyway. It was the best ever. The kids loved it. Egg FooYung & combo fried rice was great as well. I just ordered a spicy fried rice, a regular fried rice and lo mein. My Mom and I order from here all the time, but this time the rice was hard and clearly undercooked and the lo mein was extremely dry. So we call back up there and let the employee know that we'd like them to remake it and we will bring back the other food, he said fine. Once I arrive he argues with me that he will give me my money back but he will not remake the food only for me to bring it back again. He literally argued with me in a very condescending way for 3 mins. I have to assume that his tone and customer service towards me changed once I got to the restaurant and he realized I was an African American b/c my voice can be misleading over the phone. A fairly high quality honest-to-goodness hole in the wall tiny Chinese restaurant in an area of town where you wouldn't expect one. Or at least I wouldn't. I happened to be in the area killing some time and working before an evening commitment and decided to grab a bite here. The Yelp reviews were pretty much on the mark. Small, seats maybe 20, open kitchen with a counter that faces one side of the dining room. Service is... slightly awkward, but I take it that the lady running the counter is family. I came here to eat, not feel like I'm being greeted by the happy teenager at TGIFridays (which I haven't experience in 25 years--are they still around--don't want to know). I managed to get a smile out her finally. The owners and help, they're Chinese, no doubt about the chatter going on in the kitchen. Combination Lo Mein with shrimp, beef, chicken, bits of white and green onion, plenty of seasoning, rich noodles and a big portion for less than $8 with tax. Took home about half of it. Great option for carry-out and a steady stream from the neighborhood seemed to be coming in and out for that very purpose. Some appeared on their way home from work. A few diners made the place about half full. Portions are generous, and everyone was leaving with a box. Like that! Not a date destination but if you're in the south part of the city near Red Bridge and I-435, worth dropping in. read more

Chicken, beef and shrimp. The beef and chicken was of some type of crispy consistency not to mention absolutely no taste what so ever! It's super hard to mess up shrimp. Shrimp have their own taste, however I couldn't really savor the taste of the shrimp because I didn't have much to savor. TWO, 2 that's literally all I had in my order.
