I went to Leo with 8/10 lower back pain. It was so bad I couldn't sleep well and it completely stopped my sports and fitness regimen. Dr. Matsumoto is a professional who's not only knowledgeable about chiropractic works, but his knowledge extends to exercise as well. I had an unbearable pain in my shoulder and neck that flared up when driving. After my first visit he gave me some exercises to do at home. Those simple exercises nearly eliminated the pain. I've been seeing him for about six months now and will continue to me him to prevent future injuries. Now it is on me to keep up with the exercises. So my issue is mainly with my misalignment of hips, one leg is slightly shorter than the other haahaha. I wasn't born like this and it just happened over time! Location: I got lost the first time, but there are two entrances. You can either enter through the front door on Spring st, go up the stairs, go all the way down and make a left into his office OR you can enter through temple through the back-way, go up those stairs and his office is the first door to your right. I have gone to a number of chiropractors in the Long Beach area and was always disappointed with the results. They would typically do the same handful of adjustments like a one-size-fits-all and I always felt like they weren't looking for (or capable of finding) the root causes of my imbalances and helping me create long-term solutions. I came to Dr. Leo years after being afraid to see another chiropractor. My last experience was not the best with a different doctor. I broke my lower back (L3,4,5) when I was younger in gymnastics. The adjustments to my lower back were a little too aggressive for me. I told Dr. Leo of my concerns and he said he can help using other ways to fix me. Well he introduced the Myogrip and had me use a big rubber band for tension while doing a couple yoga moves. This process is called IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) using myogrip. By doing IASTM and activating the muscles with resistance and movement, it increases the blood flow to the area. With the increase of the blood flow/inflammation to the area, it'll help promote the repair and recovery by sending more nutrients to the injured area. Wow !! What a relief!! Needless to say I felt so much looser in my lower back and Dr. Leo finished up by adjusting the rest of my body. I love the knee release a lot. I tore my meniscus in both knees. When he adjusted my knees the first time I was able to do a full squat. I found my Chripractor in Dr. Leo ... I recommend him for everyone! He listens to your preferences (manual adjustment vs. drop table, what you're comfortable with regarding neck adjustments, etc), and he recommends different exercises and stretches that will help. Dr. Leo saved me from constant, shooting pain! I recently tweaked my lower back in a bad way (too much rough-housing with the kids probably) and started experiencing intense, shooting pains in my lower back.
