I started working with Dr. Karin Kim in October due to having some issues with my knees as I age. I'm 54 and active and have started having issue with knees and other joints. I was pleasantly surprised at the extent of the initial exam that Dr. Kim provided. So thorough and above anything I've encountered at other offices. The treatment to date has proven to be very helpful. My knees are much better and we are working on other alignment issues which were likely contributing to my knee problems. I've been to quite a few chiropractors in my life and I would say Dr. Groves at Chiropractic Neurology Center is probably the best out there. He's not super cheap if you're paying out of pocket, but you get what you pay for. Dr Groves is not just a chiropractor, but he's also a neurologist. He knows the nervous system VERY well. Guy really is brilliant. I was referred to him by my x-g/f who was in a major car accident and had serious problems as a result. She was basically cured by Dr. Kim after a few months of visits. I came here about 6 years ago with excruciating pain. I was on the verge of having major surgery done on my herniated C5-C6 disk resulting from a traumatic experience. Dr Groves did some x-rays and convinced me NOT to get surgery, that he himself could get me back to good health. He said that he has seen some patients where he did recommend major surgery, but for me, there was no question: he could fix the issue. Let's just say I was in serious, major pain, unable to sleep, and function at work because of my pain. In two month's time I was about 85% better. I mean, the guy knows what he is doing. And about 4 months later I was about 97% better. Incredible results. My neck has flared up again (once you injure your back, there is a good chance you'll need care for your life), and I've started going back again to Dr. Groves. He charges about $50-55 per visit, but why not invest in yourself and pain management? I really wouldn't consider anybody else and really like having him as my chiropractor. In summary, don't bother going anywhere else for chiropractic care. I've been to two other chiropractors in the LBC and Dr. Groves is IT!! read more

Dr. Groves is amazing! He's done so much for my family and I. After struggling with my dads, going to various doctors and "specialists" trying to figure out why he had a tight throat and couldn't swallow, we finally ended up with Dr.Groves. He diagnosed my father with myasthenia gravis and guided us to getting treatment. My dad also simultaneously had a torn meniscus and he was able to treat his knee, allowing him to walk in just a matter of days. The best thing about him is that he CARES! A lot of doctors that I've encountered in dealing with my dad's health struggle is that they don't care. They don't have interest in helping their patients or curing them. I've suffered from sciatica pain off and on (mostly on) for over 20 years, and not only did Dr. Groves help dampen the pain, he's also helped with cervicogenic pain left from being rear-ended on the freeway a few years ago, as well as various MS-related problems and pains. I am so grateful to have found this office and be under the care of Dr. Kim. She is a wonderful, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable chiropractor. I found her out of desperation after suffering from a really bad experience from a previous chiropractor. The previous chiropractor adjusted me so poorly that I was in chronic pain for about a year and subsequently developed neuropathy. After seeing orthopedic specialists, going through physical therapy and even trying alternative techniques, my body just wasn't healing correctly. Dr. Karin Kim and Dr. Shad Groves are amazing! I've been to chiropractors that were give a you a neck tweak and send you on your way-these two are so different! They work with every inch of you; from your vision to your digestive trac (when they do the stomach work, yes, it's slightly embarassing, but it's GOOD FOR YOU) to the very tips of your toes-I am totally oversimplifying this, but they believe that you can't just, for example, treat the back for back pain-and they're right. I have a condition called cubital tunnel syndrome; imagine the feeling you get when you bang your elbow (the ulnar nerve); now imagine some degree of that pain and tingling all the time. Dr. Kim helped me treat and manage the pain without medication (which made me gain a bunch of weight and caused permanant damage-but that doctor is a review for another time). And because I was paying for this on my own, really worked with my budget. When my ex got into a bad car accident-he was her first stop; and she treated the back and neck pain without the use of pills. I can't even begin to sing the praises of this place enough. They're amazing and really, really know what they're doing. read more

Dr. Shad Groves is a highly knowledgeable and experienced chiropractic neurologist. This means he has additional training and certification in the neurology and the practical application of that knowledge in determining the underlying health issue and specifically treating it. Given this, his evaluations are much more extensive than most other chiropractors. His treatment recommendations are based on scientific approaches and if there is anything ambiguous, Dr. Groves makes a dedicated effort to continue to evaluate until the diagnosis is clear. I have been a patient of Dr. Groves for over a decade. Each time an issue comes up, he has been able to accurately assess and guide me to recovery, so my actual number of visits to him are usually very limited. I know that he has various specialized tools and equipment for those with more complicated health issues. His office visits are generally running on time, and his office has very convenient access from the parking options. His office staff are professional, organized and helpful. Dr. Groves also has a kind heart and does not display an ounce of arrogance despite his vast knowledge. He has never tried to sell me anything or to make a profit on something that seemed unnecessary. It is always a pleasure to meet and speak with him. I cannot recommend him highly enough!! I started seeing Dr Kim less than a month ago for pregnancy-related pains (or so I thought) that made walking almost impossible for the few days before my first appointment. I was so pleasantly surprised by her approach to addressing the pain. There is a lot of thought and sense into how she assesses where your weaknesses are and what is causing your bodily issues. She does a great job explaining the neurological connections and connects that to what she physically does to you -- and it works! I went from a pain level of 10/10 at the start of the appointment to maybe a 4/10 by the end, was down to a range of 0/10-2/10 by the next day and have bad zero pain since. I can't recommend her and her magic ways enough and am trying to get everyone I know to pay her a visit! Bonus: front desk staff are all awesome and friendly as well. I highly recommend Chiropractic Neurology Center! I drive up to an hour each way, sometimes 1-3 times a week (w/ my kids) to see Dr. Kim... she's totally worth the drive! I started seeing Dr. Kim several years ago when I was pregnant and having lower back pain. During that time, I had a wonderful experience. After my pregnancy, I would see her on and off. Recently, I started seeing her again because I was having massive back and neck pain, along with panic attacks. Dr. Kim is helping me heal and I can't thank her enough! Ok it has been a while since I've been there but that attests to the fact of how much they (Dr. Kim & Dr. Groves) helped my pain issues. My first visit was unusual and comical if not for the acute pain I was in. My back was hurting/spasming so horribly, I limped in there, stooped over, and had to literally lay on my back on the couch in lobby , to fill out the paperwork. Very embarrassing. When a very pregnant Dr. Kim appeared, bright sunny smile on her face, to call me in for my consult/visit........I thought to myself "whoa now, this woman is adorable but looks like she could have that baby any minute now!" I admit, wondering if she'd be up to the task at hand. I need not have worried , for she was completely efficient and (surprisingly) agile , and I trotted off home with my spine upright. Thus began a great relationship with Chiropractic Neurology and the caring couple who are like no other chiropractors I've ever met. When friends say to me "oh, I'd never want a chiro to 'adjust my neck' " I say to them, these doctors here, do not do anything you don't want them to. They have many ways of doing adjustments and other treatments. Nothing to be afraid of, here ! I consider them as friends, or even family, not just my doctors. I miss them dearly...but that is just a testament to how much they helped get me on the road to better health. He taught me how to avoid back surgery and each year in August I celebrate another year relatively pain free, still doing yard work, still doing housework and still working out three times a week.
