I am not a seasoned piercer, so I don't have anything to compare this place to BUT....I was thoroughly impressed. It is very very clean. Sterile. Very detailed in explaining options, care, and exactly what was going to happen during the actual piercing. The piercing room looked like an outpatient surgery room which I can totally appreciate because ummmm hello?...we are dealing with body parts!! I ended up getting very lightheaded and nauseous when it was done. Vanessa could not have been any sweeter or more accommodating. She even brought me some essential oils to help with my wooziness. I came in as a walk in on a Sunday morning. My first impression was the shop was extremely clean. There were already appointments booked for the whole morning, but Monica and the receptionist (I think her name was Ashley) we're both sweet and made time for me to be seen for a consultation in between appointments. Once it was determined I could get pierced, they were able to make an appointment later on in the day. The actually piercing process was painful as expected, but Monica helped make me as comfortable as possible by guiding me through breathing exercises and talking me through the process. The piercing procedure used sterilized equipments and jewelry, and went smoothly. They are very accommodating and flexible with their services. I would highly recommend this place. Below is a more detailed review. My review will be based on my two visits: first to pierce my ear lobes on both sides, the second when I lost one of my piercing. The staffs were professional and knowledgeable. They clearly and consisely informed me of the piercing procedures they use and how to take care of the piercing after my visit. They were able to answer my questions and concerns clearly and thoroughly. They were also friendly and approachable, making the experience relaxing. The piercing procedure went as following. First, they clean and autoclave (bake to kill off microbes) their piercing tools and jewelry. Then, they mark where they are going to pierce and have you check if you like that place or not. After that, they disinfect your piercing site with alcohol and pierce with a piercing needle. Lastly, they insert the jewelry into the piercing and everything is done. I appreciated the medical-grade procedures and equipment they used, as well as the chance to adjust the piercing place, and offering to tell me when they are going to pierce my ears. The New Flower Studio is also accommodating with their service. They let me enter the piercing room with my friend for mental support. Also, when I went to visit them when I lost one of my piercings, and they did not have the correct jewelry, they let me get a different one as a placeholder and offered me to set aside and let me know when they restock the correct one. John is an arrogant person who definitely needs to work on his people skills. He's very controlling and opinionated when he doesn't need to be. I asked for a mid helix piercing, and he refused, saying it couldn't be done ... and he proceeded to make a slew of snarky comments. Just extremely annoying of a person, and painfully unprofessional. You can't have a good sense of humor when you're trying to disguise being an asshole with sarcasm. Not sure how you're supposed to feel safe around this menace with a needle in your face. Monica was my piercer I came in with a lot of questions and she was very patient, thorough and answered with honesty that would only benefit me. I didn't know that there's so much that goes into a navel piercing. It's more than just drawing a line and sticking a needle through. I was well informed prior to the actual process. The piercing saga continues.... After my left hole closed, I went to Somatic to get it redone. Well, I actually came here first, but the piercer was out and I didn't feel like waiting for him to return. At Somatic I got a ball front piercing and the lady "stretched" the hole for a really long time. It felt pretty painful. Everything seemed fine, until it started bleeding and aching after the first month. I took out the piercing and the hole closed AGAIN. Then, a couple months later, my right hole decided to close as well. Hole DRAMA! I finally made my way back to New Flower, and everyone here is just so friendly and chill. I forgot the name of the girl up front, but she's a doll (though a little too worried about alien life here on Earth...hahahaha). Matt took me to the back, and I got some cute diamond-looking studs put in. He said my right hole was still open, so the tapered tool did the job. The left was closed, though, so we needed to do a full re-piercing. The whole thing was faster and less painful than the one stretch at Somatic, and I like my studs much more. Plus, the vibe of the staff is amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

He helped me decide on my starter jewelry. I told him that I am such a "scary cat", and he told me he is a "quickie" and not to worry. Man, he was right! It was so quick and PAINLESS! Did I mention it was PAINLESS! I also appreciated his honesty, when I asked him if it was necessary to ourchase his aftercare products. He told me water is all I need, but if I am a product junkie, he would gladly show me all of his products. I loved my experience here! I got a belly button piercing with my sister in law and our piercer, Monica, was so kind and knowledgeable! She performed an anatomy check to see if our bellybuttons were pierceable which I thought was a huge integrity move rather than just taking our money for something that might not be healthy in the long run. She recommended specific types of piercing for our bodies and when it came time to pierce she was very calming. Definitely going back! I just gave new flower studio a call to see what areas they are able to pierce due to covid. I know a couple shops that are not doing anything under the mask, but was unaware of it was from choice or from law. The person who answered the phone was extremely rude. I just asked if they were doing any piercings under the mask. They said the whole state isn't and hung up the phone on me without a goodbye or anything. I get that they're probably getting calls asking the same thing but dang, I don't understand why they hung up on me. It kind of hurt, made me feel dumb, and confused me as to why they were being rude, because I would have liked to visit after the ban is lifted. But that just sucked :/.
