Came here to get some jewelry removed. Makayla helped me out. Greeted me when I walked in. She was helping out someone else and said it would be a moment, no problem. It was easy to complete the electronic waiver. I was third in line but it went by so fast. She helped take two stubborn piercings out with no problem. I should've came here sooner lol. So glad you guys opened a new location. Today we went in for my daughter's earlobe piercing, and I got a flat. It was such an amazing experience, everyone is so welcoming. Came to here early July 17th to get a birthday piercing my husband came with me. I decided to get my daith pierced. The person in the front was nice but more straightforward when speaking to them. I came here previous times every person in The front person has been always so bubbly and I expected it to be a bubbly person this time just trying to make conversation with them they didn't seem to want to talk at all. So I felt awkward until I was called back for the piercing. When it was time for the piercing the chair moved forward and I fell my husband witnessed me all along with the apprentice and piercer of me and the chair falling. I was embarrassed that it happened . My husband let them know how to position the chair properly so it wouldn't fall. After that the girl who did my piercing was great didn't feel anything at all. Instructions were explained well to me how to take care of it. The piercer and apprentice were super sweet. I would come back to get another piercing. The only reason I'm rating a 4 star is because it was my birthday and the piercer and apprentice were nice and the piercing was painless. Take away from it being perfect was having the front people be more socialable when customers coming in and paying for a service and the fall I had. read more

They were great! My daughter wanted a second piercing on each lobe. Making a same-day appt was super easy online. They had a great selection of earrings for new piercings. They were extremely patient with getting the placements right. My daughter said it didn't hurt much, and they explained the after care very thoroughly. Got my nose and upper lobes pierced. Friendly service, the girls were so sweet! The only thing I would recommend when coming here is to really make sure you like your jewelry and confirm the prices. You cannot bring your own jewelry and they have a specific set of choices to allow for optimal healing. Totally understandable, just my friend and I weren't excited about the styles/choices. I'm a gold gal and the cheapest they presented to me as an option was $100 stud. It's cute! I was just really surprised that was the cheapest option, plus the cost of the piercing. I paid over $300 for two titanium flat earrings (silver bc I didnt want to pay so much for the gold), a gold stud and the piercings. Might be back for more piercings bc of the great service and how quickly we were in and out. But really would like some better options if the earrings are going to be that pricey. read more

Wow. Don't even know where to start with this place. I got two piercings from their old location, and I really regret not taking my business elsewhere. I have never had such shitty customer service or any experience like this from any other piercing place. I went in to this shop over a month ago (in June) to downsize my piercings. I made an appointment and was not notified that they were out of stock of anything. I do not live close to this shop since I got the piercings like a year ago at their old mall location when I was visiting some family in OC. So I sat in traffic for over two hours coming from LA just to be told when I got there that they didn't have the shorter backings in stock, so they couldn't help me & I basically just wasted my time. Nice. It was almost like a simple courtesy call could have saved me the trouble especially because when I arrived the shop was dead but whatever. They said the jewelry would be in stock the next day and suggested I come tomorrow. I said that wasn't going to happen since I wasn't going to risk driving all the way over there to be disappointed again. One of the employees (the only one that was nice btw there is another employee there who has a major attitude problem even when she pierced me; I cannot believe she is still there considering other reviews who have shared similar experiences) reassured me that they would ship the backings for me and email me the next day since I went through all the trouble. The next day, I don't hear anything from them. A couple days later I call them, they say they still don't have them in. Sick. Email their customer service later that week to no response. Call again the next week. Apparently the pieces still weren't in. Crazy that a piercing studio cannot even supply literally the only product/services they provide. I call again several weeks later. The girl I speak with on the phone asks me to text them my address & reassures me that I'll know when the backings are shipped out because they'll send me an email with the tracking. It's been close to two months and still nothing. I'm tired of having to beg these people for something so simple. Again never have had a poor experience like this even at a chain place like Studs, which is insane considering the jewelry at this place is not cheap. Everywhere else has downsizing included in their service, but I would rather pay out of pocket for a new piece of jewelry than have to deal with these people again. Crazy that the business owner has all day to monitor their reviews on yelp but can't even reply to their emails or follow through with what they tell customers. Cannot recommend this place. My recommendation: save yourself the trouble and go literally anywhere else. read more

‼BEWARE COMING TO LULUS TO GET PIERCED ‼ I went to Lulu Ave for a flat piercing, and what should have been a simple, routine piercing turned into a painful, traumatic, and entirely preventable ordeal. Within a week, my ear became extremely swollen and painful. Despite following every aftercare instruction exactly as told, the jewelry embedded completely into my ear, causing bleeding and excruciating discomfort. I had to seek urgent medical care, and then go to a different(competent) professional piercer where they spent over 40 minutes carefully removing the embedded jewelry. Both the medical provider and the piercer confirmed that the bar used by Lulu Ave was far too short to safely accommodate swelling -- something that should have been obvious to any trained professional. I now have permanent scarring and have experienced significant physical and emotional distress as a result. When I reached out to Lulu Ave management, hoping for accountability and a resolution, their response was shockingly dismissive and gaslighting. They tried to imply I was lying about my urgent care visit because antibiotics were prescribed -- even though I clearly stated they were given as a precaution, not for a definite infection. They then tried to tell me that they their carefully fit each jewelry to each piercing, which is NOT TRUE as me and the two other friends I went with all got completely different piercings yet the exact same unit of jewelry was used on all 3 of us. They then suggested I should have returned to their studio instead of seeking urgent medical attention if I wanted a resolution, which is extremely ridiculous and essentially saying that I should have risked my health and safety. Not to mention that they do not have a medical professional on site so they were not equipped or qualified to handle the situation anyway. Rather than acknowledging their mistake, they refused to reimburse any of my medical costs (which is an extremely reasonable ask as their error caused the issues in the first place), deflected responsibility, and attempted to make it as though the trauma and pain I suffered were my fault not a result of THEIR error. Their defensiveness, excuses, and gaslighting made it clear they are extremely incompetent in not only piercing services but also any aspect of customer service. What happened to me was entirely preventable and handled in the worst way possible by a business that claims to value client safety. Please, if you're considering getting pierced here, go somewhere else. Such an incredible experience! I'm not gonna lie..I was hesitant to get my nose pierced since most places are also tattoo parlors (which can be a tiny bit intimidating). I found Lulu Ave on yelp searching for more affordable options and this place is definitely the spot to do it if you're anxious like I was. The atmosphere of the shop is VERY calming and comfortable with its decor and music, it doesn't feel intimidating. My piercer today was Alex who was very friendly and also informative! The whole process was really easy, she walked me through every step and told me why she was doing what and it really did help ease my worries. The pain was a pinch but nothing too bad! They do needles here instead of guns which I heard was better anyways for nose piercings. The appointment was super easy to book online for only $45. Jewelry is also super affordable. My total cost for the piercing was $89 (you pay for jewelry in addition to the $45 appointment cost). I HIGHLY recommend all my anxious girlies come here for a fun, exciting experience. read more

The initial consultation was especially important to me--I wanted to explore the earring options, and the person at the front was incredibly patient and helpful while I made my selections. My girlfriend had an amazing experience at Lulu Ave. She got 2 ear piercings, and her best friend got a nose piercing. She was looking forward to getting a septum, but they didn't have a certified "septum piercer" currently at the store. If a septum is what you're wanting, I recommend calling ahead of time to make sure someone at the store can do it for you. The jewelry options are limited but the pricing is very reasonable and the service was amazing. They were very helpful in answering our questions and explaining the process. I came in for a special they had going for valentine's day. i believe it was $14 piercing + jewelry. Before the year one mark of the stones fell out of my flat earring. I decided to get my daith pierced around 3 weeks ago. Healing great. Staff were super friendly and process was smooth! Only thing I do have to note: I'm not a piercer. I don't know if my opinion would have been the best course of action but I will share regardless. It's a very difficult place to see. Due to this, it was a very "trust the process" situation (which I don't mind). I feel like after taking a closer look...the entry point is a little too shallow (more towards the ridge than that sweet spot). I had my nose hoop changed at Lulu Avenue. The staff was friendly during the process, but the hoop that they selected for me was too tight. Within a week, it caused discomfort and pulled at my piercing, making the hole visibly stretched and raw. Today, I went back to explain what was going on, and there was no apology, and no offer of a solution. I really hope my nose doesn't scar from this. the girls that work at lulu are the sweetest girls ever! i got my rook jewelry changed here since i lost the ball on my old one and they were so patient with me i have a little thing that makes me get really sensitive to pain and i tend to pass out easily :,c the girls were super accommodating with this though and gave me some water and snacks which was so sweet the jewelry change fee was $15 which is pretty average but their jewelry prices are more on the pricey side. i paid $80 for new rook jewelry which could've been better quality jewelry imo services are good but jewelry is a littleee... expensive... so just keep that in mind read more

It's been over a year since I got my helix and rook piercing at Lulu's. * note I am from Houston and flew to CA to get my ears pierced My rook was pierced by the head piercer and helix by an apprentice. About 1 month after my piercing, I noticed that my helix jewelry was missing and it had fallen out when I showered. I found the jewelry in the shower, but sadly lost the backing. I had to put in one of my jewelry that I had at home just to keep it in place before getting the proper backing replaced. I wished that the jewelry was a screw top to reduce the possibility of it falling out, but I am also not a professional piercer to know if it is even possible to have for your initial session. A year later, I recently had my rook removed because it began rejecting. You were able to see the jewelry through the transparency of my skin. (I was not aware of this until I researched online and had my piercing checked by a professional) I believe my anatomy was not the right fit to get the rook piercing done in the first place, so sadly more than $200 down the drain I remember during my consultation at Lulu's with the head piercer, that although my anatomy was small, it could be done.. so I am disappointed that my time and money was wasted but *this can happen with anyone's piercing*. I still give 3 stars because when I had my rook, it was my favorite piece, and I got so many compliments on it. I am so sad that it is gone now. I went to Rebel Rebel to get my piercings looked at and my jewelry swapped. They had a much bigger selection of jewelry which is why I did not go back to Lulu's. My past piercings in CA were all healing fine except the ones from Lulu's (my fault bc I didnt have the proper helix jewelry in bc mine fell out 1 month after my piercing) I got a second opinion from a piercer at Rebel Rebel to take a look at my anatomy to see if a rook can be done in the future, and they said it will most likely reject again since the area is small for both ears. I appreciate the honesty rather than wasting money on trying and end up being disappointed in the future. They also told me if I didn't take my rook out in the next ~3 months my skin would have separated I recommend to just save your money and go with a head piercer, research their page and look for healed results. read more

I was helped in the beginning with ear styling and it was recommended to change out my hoop to possibly a stud (so when I got home I did).
