Ordered 3 omelettes of egg foo young we thought for dinner and the lady at the counter gave us a lunch special of 2 omelettes no pint of white rice, just a scoop, and an egg roll. Be careful they get your orders wrong now with take out. We won't be back. When I called from home to complain the lady at the counter argued with me on the phone rather than saying "I'm sorry I will give you a free this or that next time you order." Just found a rock in my pork fried rice. Their boneless spareribs are really good though.

This was my first time trying out the new Chinese restaurant in town. They have online ordering so I placed an order for the dinner combination for boneless spareribs in place of the rice I asked for pork lo mein. I went in to pick up the order (I don't believe they have delivery) The place was very clean and the gentleman who served me was very nice. The only problem was when I got home and opened the bag my order was wrong, instead of boneless spareribs I had the regular spareribs. I didn't call and complain or anything I still ate them I just rather eat the boneless ribs with a fork rather than pick up The regular spareribs with my fingers. I double checked my online order just to make sure I didn't enter the wrong thing but it did say boneless spareribs. Either way I loved the ribs so I'm sure I would love the boneless ribs, the lo mein wasn't my favorite thing the noodles seemed more like spaghetti noodles then the lo mein noodles that I'm accustomed to. Either way I'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu and hopefully get my boneless ribs next time. read more

I have come to Chens Kitchen a few times since the renovations and management change. East China was my favorite in the area before the owners retired, but was very happy after I first tried Chens. It is an open, bright, fresh and clean restaurant! The news owners did a very good job with their renovations. So far, their food has been really good too. I have never repeated an order of the main courses, chicken with broccoli, garlic beef, kung pao and hunan chicken, pepper beef... They were all really good. In the past, they have even accommodated for a dish that is not exactly on the menu, veggie lo mein with added chicken. We usually get egg rolls, spring rolls, or dumplings, but tonight we had barbecue spareribs and garlic beef. Tonight's meal was delicious. The most mind bogglingly aggravating ordering process I've ever experienced in my life. Typically Chinese restaurants have you off the phone in under a minute, even for a large order. This phone call was over five minutes. I ordered steamed dumplings, fried dumplings, an egg roll, and a ginger ale. I had to repeat my phone number, my address, and my credit card number many many times. The woman taking my order kept giving me her phone number and it just confused the whole process. Then within five minutes of completing the call I got three calls from the number she kept giving me. I would pick up and the call would just end. I called back and she said "yeah this is my number". Why are you calling me? They just called again to ask me my address for the fifth time. I have good cell phone service (Verizon) and I speak articulately. What is going on? The food and service is great. They have adapted very well to make it safe for themselves and the customers . Look, don't be put off by the strip mall this is set in. We passed by here at night, looking for it and drove right by because none of the lights in the entire parking lot were on so we assumed that the entire strip mall and grocery store were out of business or something. When we looked closer, we realized this is actually a really busy strip mall where all the parking lot lights and store sign lights are inexplicably out. This looks like your standard take-out Chinese place but I will say the tables and restaurant are kept incredibly clean. We chose to dine in and the portions they gave us were humongous. We ordered the spring rolls, steamed dumplings, a pint of sweet and sour chicken, General Tso's chicken, and moo shu pork. Like all Chinese restaurants in the Middlesex area, the dumplings came 8 to an order. They were generously portioned and thin-skinned giving a nice ratio of wrapper to filling. Easily the best dumplings I've had in awhile. The spring rolls were large, but just ok. The portion sizes on our other items were insanely large... we make 5 meals out of it. The sweet and sour chicken was nothing special, but the in-house pint-size filled a plate to overflowing and was served hot and fresh out of the fryer. the moo shu pork was well seasoned and came with 5 pancakes that seemed homemade. They were a little thin for my liking, as they stuck together and if you weren't careful peeling them apart, they tore a bit. The general Tso's chicken was likewise well-seasoned and came with fresh broccoli. The staff were very kind. I'd definitely return. But they seriously need to fix the parking lot lights! read more

I ordered a bunch of food from here today. I can say I found a Chinese food spot. The restaurant is clean, the food is good, the prices are fair, and it was serviced quickly. They have all of their sauces on the side so you can grab as much or little as you want. When I picked up the food the lady even gave me a coupon to come back(it was definitely a plus in my book). Great new place: opened recently & we just had our first order from them. We ordered to go - it was a clean all new environment. Unlike other Chinese food places the chairs / tables actually look comfy and its a good place you can sit & eat. We ordered beef fried rice for hubby & chicken broccoli w/ white rice for myself & an egg roll to share. The food was delish - really enjoyed it! I liked that the sauces are on the side and you can take anything you need (most places give you 1 packet and if you ask for more you're given the look haha) that was a big plus. Well I was hoping this was going to be a pleasant experience and that I had finally found a Chinese restaurant in Middlesex that was good and it started out that way until.....I received my food via delivery and it was hot and on time....I went to eat it and noticed something funny in the container lid so upon a closer look it was a small winged bug...ok no problem maybe it got on the container from where they stored them, but then in the side next to the rice another one so now I'm disappointed.....at this point I had already eaten my fried shrimp which were delicious and was trying to call the store but they had already closed....so I called the next day once they opened and the lady that answered was a real B....she pretended not to understand English so I spelled bug in my food three times....then she started screaming everybody likes our food I never had complaints I said well maybe, but I didn't say it wasn't good the shrimp were great, but I have a bug in my entree....long story short she was so damn rude that even if I had considered a second chance her attitude ruined it....then she told me I had to bring the food to her to see the bug....shaking my head, but I did....never fricking again!!!!! read more

I walked in to pick up my order and while I was waiting for them to finish I noticed on the side of the screen a pick up order taped to the side. Receipt paper is thin, and through the paper you could see that instead of putting the persons name they put bitch, in big capital letters. I asked the woman about it, because I wanted to know if I was the bitch. She said no it was someone else but I took it off the screen anyway to make sure it wasn't my order. It wasn't mine, very similar to mine but not mine. I told her maybe she should keep how she feels about her customers out of sight and to herself.. She just shrugged. So. I haven't found a consistently good take out Chinese food place in the area, but I decided to give this place a try, and I'm glad I did! Their menu was very nice, with a lot of options (including healthy "diet" options.) I ordered an egg drop soup, and steamed chicken with veggies with sauce on the side. For what this is, I gave it five stars. It isn't some fancy, expensive Chinese restaurant. But it's good food. We have been hoping for good Chinese food close to home. We used to drive 20 min. I'm so happy Mr. Chen's did not let us down. Nothing tasted over salted or full of msg. The chicken and broc was great. The broc wasn't mushy at all and no fatty chicken. Wonton soup had flavor. I ordered takeout twice from them and loved the food. I decided to place an order for pickup on 10/3/16. When I got home there was a long hair about 12 inches in my Garlic Chicken. I also ordered Egg Foo Young and Beef with Broccoli. As soon as I saw the hair I called them and told them what I found. I brought the food back to the restaurant (I live in Bridgewater) took out the container and showed them the hair. The man pulled it out and showed another employee who examined it. It wasn't mine because I have purple hair. He asked if I wanted my money back ( $30), of course I said yes, because I didn't want anything else from them. They really should be wearing hair nets.
