Chicken siu mai and har gow! So good
    Michael Y.

Remember, the B rated and 3-star Chinese restaurants are the best, so this 3-star rating means it is legit. It would be sus if it was a squeaky clean restaurant with proper service. And here, it is legit - no frills, no pomp and circumstance or dainty little shreds of decoration on your dumplings. I ordered mounds of dumplings, and we enjoyed it. It was good. They have some giant green onion twists too! It is worth checking out. Be sure to understand the deal as you can order 3 of the Same item and then get Another one of that same item free. It was a bit odd how they handled mine... but whatever.

We love coming here got the egg tarts, this is our go to and tastes great. It's always affordable as you buy 5 and get one free. Better then many other bakery in the Bay Area on flavor. Service is typical for any Chinese spot. lol it a take out ambiance so have your order ready before you get to the cashier to order and go. Pay cash to save on fee

I've picked up dim sum here several times as sometimes my mom has a craving for it, and we don't have time to go to a restaurant for dim sum. Once, you walk in, it will quickly bring memories of a typical dim sum store in San Francisco or Oakland Chinatown. Dingy, unorganized, but churning out decent dim sum. The service was nice. The aunties there patiently take your order.

Came here to pick up lunch on a Saturday and there was a slight line, but not too bad since they had 2 people working the counter. They look like they have a patio outside, but there are no tables & chairs in the establishment so it's definitely a grab & go kind of place. We took our food to a nearby park called Boggini Park with our picnic blanket to have the food while it's still fresh. There are tables at the park which could be the better option since the grass was a bit overgrown. I usually only get Dim Sum in SF Chinatown, but this place is pretty good. It's not quite up to par with the Chinatown shops, but good for a place in San Jose. Best items were the Har Gao (Shrimp dumplings). I really wanted to try their pan fried chive dumplings but they were out when we got there and they didn't give a time estimate as to when the next batch would be done. ~~Parking: Plenty of space because the restaurant is located at the end of a strip mall that's somewhat dead so there's ample parking. You could also eat the food in the parking lot since there's a lot of shaded spots as well. ~~Service: Good, the servers were very nice. ~~Worst Part: The sauces that they provide. I was hoping to get at least a knock off sriracha, but the packets they gave were like chili oil that wasn't spicy. ~~Tips: Bring your own sauces and napkins if you plan on enjoying the food not at home. ~~Return: Maybe.

This is our go-to place for takeout dim sum in San Jose. Most items are quite tasty, and the value and convenience can't be beat. As much as I love a sit-down dim sum restaurant, sometimes I really just want to pick some up and eat it in the comfort of my own home (and have leftovers for the next day). I get all of my usual favorites here including har gow, siu mai, baked bbq pork buns, chicken feet, sticky rice in lotus leaf, fried taro puffs, and turnip cake. They have a HUGE selection with all of the classics, and a good selection of different baked buns and some noodle dishes as well. They get really busy on the weekend with the line going out the door, but service is pretty fast unless people make large orders! Cash is preferred but they accept credit card with an extra 3% fee.

It's been a LONG time since I've been here. This place was known as the $1 milk tea place back when I was in middle school, but those days are long gone haha. I went here recently on a whim because I was feeling nostalgia for their egg tarts, and what can I say, their egg tarts are just as good as they were since I last had them. Now full disclaimer, I've mostly gone here for their egg tarts, so I don't really have much to go on for their other stuff. I've tried some of their other dim sum items once in high school, and I remember it being decent. Certainly not restaurant quality, but price is cheaper and being that it's very close to where I live, it's as others said a good "quick dim sum fix". The place is on the very end of the plaza. It's very small, and a couple of their neighbors seemed to have closed down, so it's easy to miss this place. I went in and ordered 2 egg tarts. Total ended up being $3.20, and I had to pay in cash since they have a $10 minimum for credit card. I gave the cashier $4, and she handed me back a $1 saying "it's ok". *Cries* she seemed sweet. The egg tart crust is flaky, and the egg custard has that flan like flavor and texture which I love. After one though, my mouth got kinda dry, but it's still good. A solid choice if you ever stop by here.

In general, their dim sum was better than dinner, but tonight's dishes are worth mentioning. The good: 1. steamed lobster with rice vermicelli: good flavor and fresh lobster. All lobster pieces were cut open, making it easy to eat. 2. beef steak with broccoli: the beef was so soft! The 0.5cm thickness makes it perfect size to bite down. 3. BBQ plate: loads of goodies, with my favorite cha siu, jelly fish, and pork belly cubes. 4. Soup with morel and chicken. Loads of morels! Could use a bit more salt but it's not that big a deal. The ones that could be improved: 1. small silver fish fried with egg yolk coating: a bit chewy, but good flavor. 2. sea cucumber stuffed with shrimp paste: indeed a hard to make dish at home, so we were all excited. But the sea cucumber was not well flavored; instead, it tasted quite fishy and earthy. Too bad this expensive dish was only half consumed. The bean sprouts at the bottom were a lot more desirable. 3. salt pepper chicken: it was seasoned with salt and pepper powder, but not cooked with salt at the pan, so the chicken lacks the heat and dryness from salt. At the night, a wedding reception was in place, but we were able to seat at the next room and enjoyed our noisy and loud cheers.

Despite being the only customer present from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM, I still had a 30-minute wait as the kitchen was prioritizing a large catering order. The server's sincere apology when the food was finally delivered significantly helped erase that frustration. The BBQ Pork: Very flavorful and not too fatty. However, typically priced around $15.00 to $16.00, I found the portion size to be a bit small for the cost and the wait. Beef Chow Mein: A classic staple that was well-prepared, though I prefer the thicker noodle. General Chicken: a solid choice, just the right amount of seasoning. Gailan: Fresh and a perfect balance to the heavier meat items. Overall, the sincerity of the staff and the food quality made up for the initial logistical hiccups.

Even though their parking lot had a lot of cars, it's so big that there're still plenty of spaces. Their inside was huge as well. Because of the high ceiling, it didn't feel too crowded, even though it was packed. They had a lot of servers, too, though getting the attention of one took a while. Our server highly recommended their sea bass 2 ways (congee and chow fun) on their daily special menu. We would have ordered that if they still had fish at ~2lb, but they only had fish at ~3lb, which would be too big for us, as we would like to order some dim sum as well. So, we just ordered from their dim sum menu. The 2 different house teas we ordered came out pretty quickly, but it took a while for the food to come. The Sauteed Turnip Cake in XO Sauce was the dish I liked the most. It could still use more XO sauce, though. Pork & Crab Roe Siu Mai was gigantic; taste was normal. I wished they had chili sauce at the table. We're too busy catching up and didn't bother to flag down someone to get some. The Fried Bean Curd Skin Roll w/ Shrimp was not bad, just a bit oily. The Fried Chinese Donut Wrapped in Rice Noodle w/ Dried Shrimp was on point; it came with a peanut sauce on the side. The Chicken Feet w/ Black Bean Sauce were well cooked and off the bones. The Salted Egg Yolk Lava Black Bun wasn't too sweet; the inside was more runny than we expected. We're already stuffed after having 6 dim sum dishes. Overall, dim sum was solid, but on the more expensive side. In my opinion, their system for waiting for tables is a bit chaotic. They do not ask for your phone number; instead, they print out a receipt with a number and call it out when your table is ready. There is a monitor inside the restaurant that you can watch, but since it's so crowded and the way the system is displayed on the screen, it's kind of hard to tell what is going on or what your status is. Service-wise, it's exactly what you would expect from any Chinese restaurant serving dim sum, if you know what I mean. :) Inside, the restaurant is very spacious and large, and I am assuming the reason for the long wait is that it's one of only two places to get dim sum in Milpitas (the other being Mayflower in the other highly packed plaza nearby). They do not serve dim sum with the traditional cart system where dishes are rolled around the dining room. Instead, you order from a menu and mark down how many quantities you want of each item. My family got a variety of dishes, but I'll call out some notable ones: * Their shu mai was juicy and packed with meat, probably one of the best shu mai I've had in the South Bay. * Their har gow skin broke apart really easily, which bummed me out, but it was generously stuffed with shrimp. * My favorite dish was their purple rice rolls. It was basically a Chinese donut stuffed with shrimp and wrapped in a purple glutinous rice roll. * The chicken feet were very balanced and not too sweet. * The truffle scallop dumpling had a rich mushroom flavor, and the scallop added a nice flavor profile. * The BBQ pork was coated well with the char siu sauce. It was tender and bold in flavor. Overall, my experience here was great, but I do not think it warranted more than a 30-minute wait. The food also came out a bit slowly in my opinion, but that was probably due to the high volume of people.
