    I came here for a weekday lunch by myself, and it was super busy but the woman who seated me was still very kind and inviting. Their menus were on QR codes and you can order directly to the table which was nice. I was on a 1 hour lunch break and was able to get my food and get back to work in time, but my dishes did take a wait of 25 and 30 minutes. I ordered the scallop w shrimp dumplings and the Bayfungton shrimp dumplings, I enjoyed the latter more which were also slightly easier to eat because of the size and being closed off but the flavor was good on both. They had plenty of seating even though they were super busy. All in all, I'd go back, I had a good experience.

    In town for a short business trip and we wanted some good Chinese food. The outside of this restaurant doesn't look like much but once inside it definitely feels authentic Chinese. The service is not so great. They seem to not care much about going out of their way for you. There were only a few tables occupied, but it took forever to get service and several times I had to get up to get more drink or to get utensils. Now the food was really good. We had sesame chicken and sweet-and-sour chicken and the fried rice. I was pretty impressed with that except the fried rice didn't have a lot of seasoning in it. Overall, a good experience, but the lack of good service brought down a couple stars and lack of seasoning on the fried rice.

    Came here with hubs straight from San Jose Mineta (SJC) airport after a few days in the Midwest. Yes please to dim sum! Food came out fast. Ordering was easy with the QR code, except the cell signal isn't great so the menu took forever to fully load. If there was free WiFi, we didn't see a code for it, but we also didn't ask. Service is fine, but only at the beginning. If you need anything else, it takes multiple requests to multiple people. For example, an item we ordered hasn't arrived yet, even after we'd already received additional items we ordered after our initial order. We had to ask 3 different people and gave plenty of time in between each request before it finally came out. Of course, there were no apologies for its tardy arrival, but we didn't expect any. The teapot is huge-- love it! I'm a huge tea drinker and usually go through 2 or 3 of the standard sized pots. This one large pot was enough for me. Bigger than average teacups too :) We ordered; -Spicy XO pork chow mein: hardly spicy, best eaten fresh (seemed less flavorful as leftover) -Duck buns -- DOES NOT COME WITH DUCK. Only the buns, hun. Must order Duck separately (we got bbq pork instead and were not disappointed) -BBQ pork: not too fatty, very flavorful -shrimp egg pork siu mai: good, but I wish they had beef/pork instead -sesame balls: Wow. Different from all the other sesame balls we've had in many other places. Super soft, sweet but not too sweet. Just extra good -egg lava buns: we chose these over the egg custard buns and glad we did! Very sweet, which hubs loved. Would definitely get these again -soup dumplings; honestly, disappointing. Was not soupy! Also did not come with the black vinegar we're used to having with it. They offer a 3.5% discount if you pay with cash. Restrooms were fine, nothing fancy (and nothing gross!). On par with what you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant. It's super close to the airport, and easy to get on the freeway to return home to the east bay. This will be our regular eatery every time we fly into SJC!

    Jade Cathay has wonderful, crave-able, authentic dim sum! This is our go-to place in San Jose for delicious Cantonese food. It's a unique building with cool decorative details, very spacious and great for groups. The wait staff is attentive and friendly, the food always comes out in a timely manner, the prices are very reasonable, and we always leave happy and satisfied. They also have concerts here sometimes! Follow them on Instagram!

    IMHO My girls wanted dim sum for dinner. While driving home, they researched for a Chinese restaurant that served dim sum all day. Found Jade Cathy, which is right next door to the House of Genji. There is an ample parking lot next door, with lots of signs warning you not to leave valuables in your car. At 5 p.m. the restaurant was fairly empty but by the time we left, had filled up a little more. You order via QR code and soon your meal arrives at the table. We ordered the BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Roll, $7, Deep Fried Taro Dumplings, $7, Tofu Skin Wraps Supreme, $9, Sticky Rice Wraps, $8, Braised Tofu, $15, Minced Beef Soup, $15, and Salt & Pepper Fish Fillet, $18. They also charge $2.30 for tea pp. I'm of the generation where tea was free! I wasn't hungry but wanted to treat my girls, but I did love the salt & pepper fish fillet. Soup was good but I felt it could use a tad more flavor. We packed up a lot of leftovers, and the kind waiter gave us some free sweet buns for dessert. Service was friendly and available. Yes, I'd definitely come back again!

    Food and service needs help .. we ordered from a hotel .. restaurant is closed..so to be delivered food with No chop sticks or silverware was not good ..the egg foo young was good .. the barbecue pork chow fun was .. misrepresented .. should say fried ham chow fun ..

    Good spot if you want your dim sum fix and don't want to wait for long. Dined in around 11ish on a Sunday and no wait! More and more people came in throughout my meal, but no one had to wait. Some side tables have an iPad to view the menu and order from, but I had to scan a QR at the table. It was troublesome in the beginning since it was taking awhile for it to finally load on my phone. For anyone new at dim sum, it helps that they have pictures on the menu. Ordered some of the classics for a party of two: - Siu mai - Ha gao (shrimp dumpling) - Salt & pepper fish - Soy sauce chow mein (my only complaint would be that it was way too salty) - BBQ pork rice noodle rolls - Fried shrimp balls We enjoyed the food! Food came out at different times but still within a good time frame. Prices were okay, dim sum always adds up. It took some time to get one of the worker's attention when we needed something though. Decent sized restaurant, tables are well spread out from one another. Not much going on with interior decor and not fancy compared to other places, but it's clean. Parking is very convenient with an open big lot and street parking.

    Final Thoughts: 3.71/5 There are about half a handful of restaurants who provide dim sum all day and this is one of them. While dim sum is known to be a morning/afternoon thing, morning times just don't work for our group. Our schedules simply don't align, so I'm very grateful for their decision to provide it all day. Food: 1. Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow): 4.1/5 Classic choice for dim sum. The shrimp filling was lovely. Shrimps seemed plump, steamed to perfection, and had a nice texture when you bite down. The wrapper was not my favorite. Texture wise, very sticky and soft as if it wanted to melt away like a corn starch mixture. My preference leans more on a wrapper that holds its form, has some chewiness, and a resistance, but still soft. Flavor - Delightful. This one didn't need any soy sauce because the balance of flavors in the filling did it justice. 2. Shrimp Egg Pork Siu Mai: 4.4/5 My personal favorite was the siu mai. This one hasn't failed me anywhere yet. Texture wise - lovely. The crunch from the shrimp was quite nice. I enjoyed the ratios of shrimp to pork. Seasonings were nice, as well. Here, I'm tasting soy sauce, with some salt and sugar combined. Fish roe to garnish on top of each one for the enhanced umami flavor and color contrast aesthetics. 3. Steamed BBQ Pork Buns: 3.9/5 Very fluffy and soft dough. Ratio of filling to dough seemed optimal. There's an aroma to the dough that is missing from these buns. It's a sweet aroma with a hint of the flour and yeast scent. Kind of hard to explain. Flavor was average - Nicely seasoned with what seemed to be soy sauce, oyster sauce, and a hint of sesame oil. The color of the filling looked to be lacking some of the redness that I usually see with other buns. I'm actually not complaining with this one, but just an observation. 4. Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll: 3.7/5 The rice paper used to make this had a similar texture to the har gow. It was pretty soft, but not as sticky. Definitely held its form a lot better. Not too much of a bite or resistance to it. Ratio of shrimp to rice paper seemed optimal because of how thin the rice paper was. Flavor wise seemed a little bland to me. This was the case with rolls on the bottom layer too even though they were just absorbing all of the soy sauce. The shrimp was lightly seasoned with salt, but I felt like it needed something more. 5. Fried Shrimp Ball: 3.4/5 Hmm this one was your average shrimp ball with a crispy exterior from the eggroll wrappers. The size seemed smaller than ones that I am used to, but optimal for this dinner. Dipping sauce also seemed quite "average" - A little sweet, sour, and salty to enhance the flavor of the shrimp ball. 6. XO Sauce Stir-Fried Rice Rolls: 2.3/5 This dish needs to be paired with something because it was quite underwhelming when it came out. They're what you would expect, but I got tired of this dish after I took a picture of it because it looked like a bowl of dough. The XO sauce is truly the highlight of this dish. It's very umami with a nice balance of saltiness and sweetness. I can't pinpoint the exact flavor, but it seems like a mixture of oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and hints of seafood. This paired with the spiciness from the jalapenos were a nice touch. --------- Quality: Optimal Most items came out piping hot, which is ideal, but please do not scald your mouth like I did. Items like the har gow and siu mai are quite juicy. They are not skimping on the fillings and I appreciate the choice in using certain types of ingredients like the jumbo shrimp. Price: Expensive Six items for a total of $66. Average paid between 3 was $22. Not horrible, but not the best either considering a lot of the items were flour, dough, and some shrimp. Service: Fair to Optimal Quite fast service and very friendly. My one note is the order of how the foods were delivered. The Fried Rice Rolls came out last and it looked pretty underwhelming at that time soley due to what it was. I would have preferred for this to come out within a better timeline of my other food items, so that I could enjoy it together with an item that included a protein. Ambiance: Tranquil Quiet day in the restaurant today even for us going during rush hours. This may have been related to the rainy and cold weather that day. Somewhat drafty in the restaurant and that may likely be related to how open and spacious the interior is. Very nice and quiet dinner for us, so no complaints here. Location/Parking: Fair The restaurant is right next to the streets, so people drive by it and can easily find it. Not hidden anywhere and seems like an optimal spot. This is another location where I refuse to go alone (mostly at night). Again, it was raining that day, which made visibility a little bit more difficult. The lights were dimmed out, as well, so the parking didn't look like an ideal place to be at. There is a long stretch for this parking lot, so it doesn't seem like parking should be an issue for this area.

    ~4.5/5 I really do think the only thing bad about this place is their prices are on average about ~20-25% higher than the rest of the Bay. With that said, I think it's pretty fair. Things come out fresh/piping hot and many of the options don't skip on the fillings. All-day Dim Sum is a plus when I think there's only ~3 restaurants in San Jose-ish that do it. BBQ Pork Buns 4/5 - Realistically I just wish these were bigger as they are smaller than I'm used to. The ratio of filling is pretty perfect though, not too little, and the bun itself does not distract from the taste as some places make the bun too big to the point it gets a chore chewing flavorless bun. Fairly fluffy which is rare nowadays as well. Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll 5/5 - Giant shrimp inside, rice paper/noodle itself aren't overly doughy/chewy. Could definitely use more of the sweet soy sauce on it though if possible. Siu Mai & Har Gow 4/5 - Both came out very hot which is a good thing. You don't see the steam but if you're used to taking a piece and throwing it into your mouth instead of taking small bites you might want to reconsider. Shrimp Ball 3.5/5 - No down sides, but also nothing really special XO Noodles 2/5 - Kinda ok. Came out very late in the meal and was not hot or warm. It was also very soft and not as firm as expected from other places or even when compared to the rice noodle roll. Parking is okay, I appreciate all places that have their own lots, especially as Genji next door gets pretty crowded but the lot can be fairly dimly lit which makes it look a bit sketchy.

    We came on a Sunday afternoon, and the place was crowded. It was good to see! We've been here for both dim sum and dinner time. Parking is plentiful, and they have a large lot shared amongst the 4-5 restaurants here. The service is very friendly, courteous, and attentive. The owners frequently visit each customer when they have a bit of time. Place your order via QR code. They have a bar, mostly hard liquor, beer, and wine only. Simple Chinese decor, clean but aged. Separate bathrooms each for men and women. The dim sum was good. My wife liked the bbq pork rice noodle. My mom and I liked the scallop shrimp dumpling. The deep-fried salted egg pumpkin was better than I thought. I personally don't care for the Salted egg, but my wife and mom love it!

    I Ordered shrimp chow main. There was no flavor to it and it was really dry. I bit into an egg shell.

    Came here with my friend after picking her up from SJC and it was super close to the airport! The food is pretty good! We got a variety of typical dimsum items like rice noodle rolls, chicken feet, siu mai, and congee. We also tried the pumpkin with salted egg and it was pretty good! Kinda salty but as expected from the salty egg. It actually paired pretty nicely with the congee. Seems like it is also a pretty popular spot as there were a couple parties there when we were there, possibly some regulars. Not too crowded though. Pretty easy to order because you can either order from your phone via a QR code or one of the tablets if you're sitting by the wall I think. Parking lot

    Dim sum is average. They don't have the pushcarts, you order off a menu, oh yeah, and they charge $.50 for a glass of water.

    Average dim sum restaurant. Not overly pricey but it also depends on what you order. As an example, I tend to over order while having dim sum and during my last visit (party of 4) -- our bill came out to $160 after gratuity.

Party of 12, since we got there early, we agreed. The side room had the biggest round table for us. They ask you what kind of tea you want, we like chrysanthemum tea. You order the items on the paper menu and it comes to your table. So we got going on the orders and TBH, we must be hungry, because we did a lot of orders (we had plenty of left overs). Tried some favorites and a few new items that we thought were unique to their restaurant. My dad has to order crispy noodle and chow fun, and we also ordered chicken fried rice. The service was prompt and attentive, with enough servers to take care of the side room. Since it was the "sun room", the sun was shining through the windows and it was bright. Review from my parents: it was just meh, they prefer the other place near our house. I think the food is good, but probably won't come back again with a big group of us, since they don't have many big round tables. And personally, I prefer the whole experience of the ladies coming around with their carts. Perhaps their dinner menu is also worth trying. Bonus for us is that we can literally walk to this restaurant. Parking could be an issue if you come later.

The food quality there is more consistent, and the service is much more phenomenal. The only things this place really has over Koi Palace are the lower prices and those black sesame custard buns my friend loves! I've been here at least a dozen times, and the food can be hit or miss. Sometimes dishes come out cold, like they've been sitting out for a while instead of being served fresh and hot. That said, there are a few items we always order that are consistently good when brought out fresh like salted crispy pork chops, siu mai, shrimp rolls, and fried calamari. Be prepared for a wait on weekends since it gets crowded. If you're coming with a large group, it's best to arrive before noon. The restaurant is located next to a hotel, and finding the restroom can be confusing since it's inside the hotel. Service is also pretty minimal--they seem understaffed, and I almost always have to flag someone down just to get basics like soy sauce, chili, and water. I don't understand why they don't just have the sauce on the table for guest to dip, but I get that they're saving $ on controlling the cost down. On my most recent visit, the experience really went downhill. Our table had food but no soy sauce, chilli nor water, and when I flagged a waiter multiple times, he got visibly annoyed and irritated. It was frustrating--we shouldn't have to chase someone down repeatedly for basic condiments. Being met with attitude for that honestly left a bad impression. That experience alone makes me reconsider coming back. Good food at a good price is one thing, but poor service--especially to that extent--can really ruin the overall experience.

"This service charge is not meant to be a gratuity but is instead used by management for operational costs including providing employees fair wages and benefits." Based on their volume and price with dishes averaging $10 for 3-4 pieces for dim sum this shouldn't be an issue. I had a better experience this time. I reserved on Yelp and got seated right away. We got tea and a menu you can mark up for your order. No dim sum cart to make you order with your eyes. The Shanghai dumplings were pretty good, the shrimp rice noodle roll is a solid choice as well. Overall solid 4/5 and would come back with friends and family, and definitely make a reservation!! This place fills up fast.
