I did not expect to see a line out the door as soon as the restaurant opened, on a Thursday morning. Luckily the line went through quickly. However it was a bit confusing, the host had directed us to follow her to the right of the restaurant only to change her mind and lead us to the left side. We got seated and served tea right away. The table and dishwater was clean. We ordered a variety of items and came out backwards. We got the dessert/sweet items first before the savory dishes. This is not cart service dim sum. There are carts but it's to deliver the items ordered from the menu pamphlet. Service is decent as well. We didn't have to wait too long to get water refills, utensils, to go containers or bill. Food was flavorful but some portion sizes were questionable. The chow fun came in a large family style serving size but the fried rice looked like it was meant for kids.

I love coming here! The baked sea bass lives rent-free in my mind. I usually come here for dim sum though, and it's great food for a reasonable price. Service is really good and it's a lot more elevated in ambiance than a regular dim sum spot.

Updating my original review to increase to a solid 4 star review. Last night, May 30, 2026, Dad and Thelma treated me to dinner at Pearl Bay Restaurant to finally celebrate my birthday. We arrived around 7 PM without reservations. The restaurant was PACKED with several parties one of which was a wedding. Still, we were able to be seated at a table after about a twenty-minute wait. Below are what we ordered: Macau Style Roast Pork Belly ($22.99) - Good, but on the salty side. Steamed Shrimp Dumpling (6 pcs, $16.99) - Yay for Pearl Bay offering these dim sum dumplings for dinner. These are HUGE har gow because there are two shrimp inside. Double yay!! Sweet Corn & Minced Chicken Soup ($18.99) - Velvety smooth and the perfect balance of savoury and sweet from the corn. Sweet & Sour Chicken - I didn't see this in the menu, but I requested for a plate of crispy chicken with a sweet glaze. Our waitress suggested this and said that she ask the kitchen to fry the chicken to a crisp. Although I would have preferred a little more crisp, I was happy with the flavour. Special Deep Fried Tofu ($13.99) - These looked a lot crisper than they were, but I still enjoyed the little cubes of fried tofu. Crispy Spring Rolls (6 pcs, $14.99) - These fried egg rolls were crispy, indeed. The side of sweet and sour dipping sauce were a good complement. Wok Fried Minced Chicken, Diced Fish & Pine Nuts with Lettuce Cup wraps ($23.99) - I heard our waitress ask if we wanted it with chicken, and I didn't taste any fish in the yummy mix. Very nice. Pan Fried Beef & Vegetable Egg Noodle - This was another special order that I requested. Very good. Dad really liked it, too. Deep Fried Sesame Ball - Yummy, but, again, I was looking for more crisp. Service was stellar again. Now that Ho Chow has permanently shuttered, Pearl Bay Restaurant is looking to become my new favourite Chinese restaurant in Fremont.

Late post: it's party of three (3) for dim sum on Saturday lunch. We're seated very quick, less than 5min waited time. Wait-staffs were very quick & attentive. We ordered quite a lot: Har Gor, Siu Mai, Steamed Chicken Feet w/ Black Beans, Steamed Chicken Feet in Herbal Soup, Steamed Fish Balls, Steamed BBQ Bun, Thieves w/ Shrimp (acquired taste) & Pan-Fried Noodles with Seafood Combination. We just love their dim sum here, lol. Check it out folks...

Pearl Bay is well known for its dimsum and banquet dishes. We came to celebrate mom's birthday. There were 12 of us and was perfect to order from the banquet menu (Suckling Pig Set) instead of à la carte. They also had a special price on weekday. Since it was a weekday, it was not too busy. We had called ahead and was seated right away. I wasn't able to take pictures of all the dishes but this is what it came with... half roasted suckling pig, geoduck clam salad, steak cubes, deluded seafood, soup, braised fish maw, steamed lobster, marble goby, fried rice and dessert. Everything was fantastic... especially the suckling pig, geoduck and fish maw. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and plentiful. We had packed a number of items that we could not finish. Definitely worth the price! Afterwards, they brought the cake we bought and sang happy birthday to my mom. It was a wonderful night. The staff was gracious, accommodating and overall nice. We were the last one to leave and they didn't rush us out. Restaurant is well lit and spacious. Definitely be back again when we are in the area.

This place is like a typical DimSum place, super busy and honestly pretty loud, everyone seems to be chatting and having a good time. They also have the carts that go around that you can directly pick from after ordering your original order off of the paper. The food comes out pretty fast, even though they're super busy. Har Gow is my favorite so those were pretty good, the wrapper was not too thick 4/5, same with the siu mai. The beef chow fun was pretty greasy but that's pretty typical with this dish, the color was pretty nice on the noodles too 4/5. They offer Jasmine hot tea or chrysanthemum hot tea, and water when requested. Again pretty typical Dim Sum experience, nothing too extravagant or out of the ordinary, and a bit pricey. I would go here again with my family, probably not first choice though

Came in for a Friday late lunch and there was no wait. The whole Dim sum menu was available. The tables are changed over fast since there were tons of layers of disposable tablecloths. I ordered the crispy pork belly, a couple hagow, a steamed rice dish The pork was really crispy and came with this savory brown sauce. I would order it again. The hagow or shrimp dumplings were standard. The steamed rice dish was three small wrapped rice portions instead of one large one that usually gets cut in half. Still good!

Came here for a Saturday lunch and was seated with minimal wait. Tried the following dishes: soy sauce noodles with mushroom, crab corn egg drop soup, deluxe mixed clay pot, house special claypot fried rice, pork and veggie bean curd roll. I really liked the fried rice, noodles, and chicken in the clay pot especially and there were some other interesting dim sum dishes I'd like to try next time. Restaurant interior was huge and very nice inside, though it was quite loud and hard to talk during the meal.

We ordered lots of good food, the food came super quick and we had a great time. There wasn't any food that we can critique negatively. The mango and coconut bunnies were perfectly sweetened. All other dumplings were plump, juicy and flavorful. Service was prompt and understanding, the waiters were attentive to our needs and concerns. The ambiance was very lively as it was on the day of Chinese new year!

Confused by the lower star rating. I was very happy. The dim sum was fresh, hot, & very tasty. Some dishes usually not a fan of but tried with my friend and I liked them ! Bonus with their dessert dishes ! They had all of my favorite desserts - taro bun, sesame steamed mochi, & donuts. Came right when they opened 10 am on a Sunday to avoid a long wait. Surprisingly no wait and was seated right away. It didn't get busy until 11. Service was fast quick and attentive. Such a large space to fit many. Big parking lot. Would come again for yummy dim sum !

Authentic Cantonese Cuisine located here at Boscell Road at Pacific commons Fremont. Delicious & Freshly cooked dishes from appetizers, dimsum and baked/fried desserts. We love their in house Hot Tea that is perfect for a heavy meal.Their tea pot is so cute with color Gold accent. I loved their shrimp shumai, Taro bun,Sesame Red Bean Mochi Ball and Pork BBQ bao bun. I will definitely be back for more. This location is best for parties and reception for birthday, quincenera, wedding etc.

We came here after a hike with the girls. We got seated pretty quickly as it just opened. However, service is a bit slow. You have to call for someone to help you. We wanted to have tea and some of the ladies wanted water and the guy asked ask, are you sure you want tea and water because they charge for water! The heck!! Tap water! They charge $1. Bring your own water. We got our food quickly. The food was good, but I have tasted better. But dang..this water charge is turning me off like crazy. Sorry, idk if would come back here again. This place is huge. Good place for large group. Which is why we came here after our hike.

Sweet and sour fish 3/5 - some pieces were good but it came with a whole lot of vegetables and not too enough fish. The fish also had bones and scales so it was hard to eat. Flavor is good though but pretty sweet so you need rice Beef with green beans 3/5 - this was decent but nothing special.

Does Pearl Bay honor Yelp reservations? Do I need to call the restaurant to verify?

What time is the dim sum carts till on sundays?

No more carts. You get a menu and you can select whatever you want and then they'll bring it out to your table as it's ready

As of this writing (12/30/24) do they serve dim sum on carts? If so, is it for lunch or dinner or both? Thx

They don't do it anymore. You have to order the fimsum from the the paper menu and yhry will bring your order yo you. Dimsum only at lunch.

Will you be open for dinner on Friday after Thanksgiving?

Yes, we open 365 days 👏👏

Do they serve dim sum for dinner?

    No! Only lunch

Does Bay Pearl have dim sum on carts on the weekend?

Pearl Bay doesn't have carts. Weekend or weekday, carts are long gone.

Di tou dim sum for dinner?

    No, only for lunch

Does Pearl Bay still have traditional carts for dim sum, or is it menu only?

You have to mark the menu with your choices, but you can also add more to your order later if you want

Where did they get that massive tv screen?

    best buy

Do they sell beer and wine?

Yes. I saw tables with wine bottles on them.

I understand the dim-sum place charge for tea. But since when do they charge for water too ? There's $2 charge per person for water?

I agree. Charging $ for water too. Ridiculous!!

Are the dim sum same with the one in San Leandro? How do they compare with Fusion Delight?

Same owner as San Leandro, but a little pricier, just a grade below fusion delight. Hope this helps.

    Dim sum is served daily?

    yes

    Are there any Outdoor seating?

No, they do not have any outdoor seating available here.

Do you use MSG when you cook? I am allergic to MSG but ok with chicken bouillon powder.

Panda Express add no MSG . Even Campbell soup add MSG . All instant ramen contain MSG . I am allergic to MSG too as long as chefs / cooks not adding MSG as if salt or sugar powder , I can tolerate a bit .

Pretty much the same setup; the ownership is changed.

I had been here before, a few years back and I was glad to be back. We went on a Friday afternoon and the place was almost full at 12pm, they seem to be short staffed so it took a few minutes to place our order but the food came out really quickly. We ordered a variety of Dim Sum as well as chicken fried rice. The Dim Sum was hot and tasty, you could tell how fresh it was because the individual items were sticking to the wrapper they came in. The buns were flavorful and the skin was not too thick, in fact it was a good as the filing. The presentation is beautiful as well. The rice is a bit expensive at $18:95 but they serve a very large plate of it. They serve tea as well which is $1/person, it's hot and steaming and pairs just right with the food. They also have a variety of packaged items for sale - oranges, dried meat etc. The place is located in large outdoor mall area with plenty of parking but I can see how parking will get difficult during the weekend, especially since it is next to a Japanese grocery store. We were seated at a large round table and others were seated with us as well. You just have to share the space. Its loud and noisy but not obnoxious. Lots of families and locals. I would highly recommend this place!
