Duck duck duck duck duck duck duck!!! So good!!!
    Tiffany H.

I've never actually been here..but my dad always buys duck from here and it's so juicy, fatty, and meaty!!! I love duck!!! I've literally ate 4 ducks in the past week. I'm not even exaggerating 2 ducks from here and 2 from some other place. The duck here has to be top 5 in San Jose as of today for me. If that changes I'll update the review. Their Lo Mai Gai (sticky rice with meat in lotus leaf wrap) is also really good!!! Can't wait to go here one day to see what else they have.

3.5 lbs of the bbq pork and a half duck. Total cost ~$50. All of it tasted so, so delicious.

This establishment consists of a counter to order meat and a cash register. It looks reasonably clean. One of the two employees--the one handling the meat and cutting it-- spoke enough English for me to place my order. You could also just signal a number corresponding to the item on the menu though so you'd be fine ordering either way. The prices seemed very reasonable. I was debating attempting to make BBQ pork myself and now with this place I know I never will. It all tasted delicious. It was exactly what I was craving.

Uncle Quan has been my new go to place for roasted duck and pork! The pork skin is always crunchy and the meat is juicy! But my favorite is the roasted duck! They are meaty ducks but doesn't have too much fat like some of the other bbq places. I can't speak for their other dishes since I only go here for those two bbq items but I see people often buy the hot deli items. Small shop, only to-go style. Make sure you stand in line or people will try to cut in front of you.

    Braised Cuttlefish - $18 for 1 lb

I decided to stop by this place since it was fairly new and I was craving some crispy pork belly. It's a nice little spot for crispy pork belly and braised cuttlefish, and it's conveniently located near our house. The shop is in a busy area next to an Asian market, so parking can be a bit of a hassle, but it's not too bad. I love coming here for the braised cuttlefish. You can ask them to cut it into strips so you can take it home and stir-fry it. We usually do a fish sauce style dish and it's amazing~ The crispy pork belly is also tasty, not too overpowering with five spice like some other places. Sometimes the skin isn't as crunchy as I'd like, but it's still very good overall. The staff here are always super friendly and sweet. I always called ahead and today when I called in. The lady at the front was kind enough to save me the last piece of braised cuttlefish! The butcher is also very nice. Everyone I've interacted with so far has been helpful and welcoming. They also serve dim sum, which we haven't tried yet but we definitely plan to next time!

This review is for takeout: Dim sum is legit good - had shui mai, seafood shui mai, har gow and chicken feet. Pork and preserved egg porridge - very good too! Service: Packaging was secure and safe to ensure the food didn't get tampered with. Can't speak to ambiance yet, but if the takeout represents quality, I'd recommend it!

Old food... weird taste ... please don't buy from this restaurant

Everything was so bad there.... old food made my stomach feel so bad ... dont buy anything here

    Har Gao and Shiu Mai.

Located in a very busy strip plaza, where Lee's is at. The grocery store. I would not come between 9:30AM-1PM on Saturdays and Sundays. I drive a compact car but I would not risk the true stereotypes going in and out of this parking lot. Accepts cards. The ladies behind the counter were swift and friendly. The lady that started grabbing our food speaks Vietnamese and Chinese. The lady that rung me up only spoke Chinese. They offer basic delectable dim sum, even chicken feet! I was sad to learn they do not offer rice roll (banh cuon) though. There are frozen buns to purchase in the cooler. They also sell BBQ meats and rice plates. I have not been able to find a place that offers tripe. I did not try the fried rice. The har gow has a slightly thick skin. Deliciously chewy and light. The shrimp was aromatic. It had a mild sesame aftertaste. The shiu mai did not have the traditional grated carrots, but it was meaty, juicy, and so comforting. The shrimp fried tofu was a bit greasy, but it's fried so what should I expect!? Order it fresh or take the time to reheat it in your air fryer for 3-5 minutes for the crispiness. We will be back. I am glad Gavin wanted dim sum this past Monday.

Although it's an online menu, we ordered via the server and food was freshly made. The tables are not big and we had to shuffle dishes around. Food quality wise was not that impressive though. We tried: - coke chicken wing: does not taste like coke chicken wing, lacking the fried element on the outside, more like a sweet soy sauce chicken wing - pan fried buns: ok, has juice inside, but some part of the bun was too hard. - regular XLB: tasted ok as there's soup inside. The wrapping can be thinner. - rainbow XLB: the most disappointed dish. They were almost all broken when we tried to pick them up. The pink one I got was curry beef and it just tasted weird. The green one which we presumed is spinach wrapping is actually a veggie XLB. - Garlic noodle with spam and veg: This is the best dish of all. There are slices of soft mushroom, good garlic flavor, we had spam and cabbage added. $13.60 for plain noodle and toppings such as protein and veg are each $2-$3 on top. -Garlic Kale: also good, chopped garlic brought up good flavors and the kale are fresh. -Ube buns: freshly made and not overly sweet, good size and quality, but 4 for $13.5 is not that affordable. Total damage before tips is $104. I think I still prefer Shanghai #1 for pan fried buns and other Shanghainese dishes.

I have not had Fujian fried rice in many years and so trying theirs was was nostalgic. I enjoyed the wetness of the sauce on the fried rice was what I was after. Jade Cathay is a typical Chinese restaurant in terms of service. I'm not docking off a point either since it's not a top priority for places like this -- I prefer not to be too bothered during my meal. Definitely come back here more.

Upon arrival, I found the doors locked; after calling, the staff realized they hadn't unbolted them yet. Despite being the only customer present from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM, I still had a 30-minute wait as the kitchen was prioritizing a large catering order. The server's sincere apology when the food was finally delivered significantly helped erase that frustration. The BBQ Pork: Very flavorful and not too fatty. However, typically priced around $15.00 to $16.00, I found the portion size to be a bit small for the cost and the wait. Beef Chow Mein: A classic staple that was well-prepared, though I prefer the thicker noodle. General Chicken: a solid choice, just the right amount of seasoning. Gailan: Fresh and a perfect balance to the heavier meat items. Overall, the sincerity of the staff and the food quality made up for the initial logistical hiccups.

Food came to our table immediately on the carts - food was NOT dry, food was NOT cold and there was an abundance of fabulous options. Cost- if you aren't paying attention to inflation then you probably won't know the cost of actual food not prepared by Sysco (which most restaurants use for their dishes). I would not say this place is expensive for the quality of dim sum that was provided and if you're looking for cheap, sub par dim sum, don't sit down and eat here because you're being served on a cart. Food- did you know that this dim sum restaurant has 3 different chefs? One for bbq, one for dim sum and one for fried items? The quality of the food was 10/10, the options 10/10, the speed 10/10. I don't know even how to begin this review, because this place was BEYOND AWFUL. We have been here…read moremany times over the years because of our Chinese family friends. First, let's start with cleanliness. The bathroom was disgusting. If this is where the cooks relieve and wash their hands, yikes! Literally a biohazard. Trash overflowing and everything was sticky and the toilets were very dirty. Just yikes. Also if you look at the dining inspection score on the Santa Clara county website, it scored a literal 20/100. This is worse than competitors for kitchen cleanliness. This explains the many food poisoning reviews here. We got served raw food and things that looked a bit spoiled here and luckily we spotted it and didn't get sick. Read the inspection report and it's really disgusting. I'm not sure how this place is still open. I get service at Chinese restaurants serving primarily Chinese immigrants isn't top tier, but this place takes it to the next level in being abysmal. The front desk staff is belligerent and they DO NOT RESPECT YOUR RESERVATION and make you stand outside and wait for up to 30 minutes. This happened to us a couple times. Also if you are an English speaker/non Chinese speaker, the front desk staff only speaks mandarin for the most part so good luck too if you are a Cantonese speaker. They also hold and reserve table numbers for refused to jump the waitlist and reservations. That was just the host staff, the waiters were not better. Waiters were very hard to flag down and sometimes they see you and ignore you because they don't want to serve you and do their job. They also are too busy sometimes and seem overworked so their employer (a very rich duo of brothers) need to treat their employees better and train them better so they have a better attitude for customers. We also had one waiter when cleaning our table poured our water glasses into a bowl then dumped in onto the carpet onto the ground which was a first for me and my family. This was very memorable in a bad way. The environment is also very uncomfortable to dine in. The seating is packed in so tight that it's so loud you can't hear the other people at your table. It's also a fire hazard since several emergency exits were visibly blocked by tables, chairs, or people crowding at the entrance. I've seen reviews here and on Google claiming to have reported the restaurant to the fire marshal. This seems to be true because there were several times the restaurant de densified the dining room before densifying it again weeks later. If a fire broke out, this would be deadly due to exits being blocked and the restaurant being over capacity. This place is just waiting for something really bad to happen. This place is also very expensive and claims to be an elevated authentic dim sum experience targeting Chinese immigrants and ABCs. And it sucks for the price paid given the food, service, and environment (and the literal fire danger they put you in) Finally, as many have complained here, there is a mandatory 18% gratuity and they demand a tip on top of it. They hide it from their menu so you don't find out, but that's illegal in California to hide a mandatory gratuity. Honestly, the gratuity isn't worth it for the nasty service and food anyways. The only have it because the owners know their restaurant is so bad they have to put a gratuity because otherwise people won't pay tips. What a joke of a business, I'm not sure why so many people still support it by singing its praises here and patronizing a restaurant that clearly doesn't care about either its employees or customer.

Even though their parking lot had a lot of cars, it's so big that there're still plenty of spaces. Their inside was huge as well. Because of the high ceiling, it didn't feel too crowded, even though it was packed. They had a lot of servers, too, though getting the attention of one took a while. Our server highly recommended their sea bass 2 ways (congee and chow fun) on their daily special menu. We would have ordered that if they still had fish at ~2lb, but they only had fish at ~3lb, which would be too big for us, as we would like to order some dim sum as well. So, we just ordered from their dim sum menu. The 2 different house teas we ordered came out pretty quickly, but it took a while for the food to come. The Sauteed Turnip Cake in XO Sauce was the dish I liked the most. It could still use more XO sauce, though. Pork & Crab Roe Siu Mai was gigantic; taste was normal. I wished they had chili sauce at the table. We're too busy catching up and didn't bother to flag down someone to get some. The Fried Bean Curd Skin Roll w/ Shrimp was not bad, just a bit oily. The Fried Chinese Donut Wrapped in Rice Noodle w/ Dried Shrimp was on point; it came with a peanut sauce on the side. The Chicken Feet w/ Black Bean Sauce were well cooked and off the bones. The Salted Egg Yolk Lava Black Bun wasn't too sweet; the inside was more runny than we expected. We're already stuffed after having 6 dim sum dishes. Overall, dim sum was solid, but on the more expensive side. While their service was typical for a Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area, they did apply a 16% service charge to the bill automatically, which was stated on their menu.
