New Kaya Salon is easily my favorite place to go for eyebrow threading. They do a superb job at a great price. They are the least painful, get the most hair, and always at the root (I've gone to places that somehow break some hairs rather than pull them out, so they grow back much faster and look blunt and dark). Run from this place . They can do waxing well but pretty much nothing else. They are terrible at threading. If you want your eyebrows to look like a 1960's eyebrow sure go there . They did my eyebrows and when I asked them why they are round shaped they said, your eyebrows are round' nothing we can do . read more

Zero star is worthwhile...as they are really cheaters.. All the prices are very expensive and still my wife used to go to their salon because it is near my place. And yes they are cheaters because they are not offering beauty services (facials) or not even refunding my money she paid 150$ in the name of Valentines day Gift certificate. Now they are saying the management changed from Jyothi to Ravi. Where Ravi has some money issues with jyothi. So, they are not considering our gift certificate. If the management have issues, why should the customers suffer and loose money. NEVER get your eyebrows done here. I always say "I don't like my brows thin. I like them bushy and natural looking just need them cleaned up." After only 3 MINUTES she was finished and said "pay over there" and gestured for me to get out of her chair so she can attend to another client. I was visibly upset and unhappy with her work and when I said "I don't ever go this thin" and showed her the front of the brow is thinner than the tail she said I didn't have hair there to begin with. Took no responsibility for her work and was not in the least bit interested in helping an unhappy customer in any way, shape, or form. If you don't own a mirror or you're stuck in 2002 this might be the place for you. Otherwise, I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

I was never crazy about this place but my most recent experience put me over the edge. I never liked the fact that they don't keep appointments (still wait for up to 30-40) minutes past your appointment time. The most recent waxing experience gave me an infection for which I am now on antibiotics. Needless to say, I will never go back. My first visit to this salon was impressive. The place is neat and clean. I walked in without an appointment, the owner spoke to me a little bit about my skin type and recommended to get an European facial day (as I have sensitive skin). The facial room was nice, with light music. I enjoyed the facial and felt very relaxed after getting one. The only reason I am taking away a star is, I was disturbed twice by other staff member, as they wanted some info from the owner. I am very picky when it comes to facial, I don't like the staff talking to me or disturbing me. Prices are on higher side, but worth giving a try! Will surely go again. read more

I love going to this place for a blowout.. Acquella (spelling probs wayyyy off) does a wonderful job! I am black and I have really thick curly natural hair. She is also amazing with trims. She keeps my hair very healthy and I will not go to anyone else! My first review of the salon I was pleased with the experience and I gave 5 stars. I've been 4 times at the salon and every time I have nothing to complain but the last time. My usual hair stylist wasn't there but I decided to stay. I went for a hair cut ONLY and clearly stated it at the very beginning. After the hair cut as usual the stylist dry my hair a little bit before a go. By the time I realized it wasn't just quick drying, but she was styling, was too late. I'm pretty sure she didn't ask me before she start which I didn't like. I ended up paying much more that I was planning. Don't get me wrong it came up nice but I wasn't asked, that's why I'm giving 3 stars for the experience. I understand that they want to make as much profit, but they need to ask. Went last Friday to get my eyebrows done during lunch. I was assisted right away and the prices may be high for the area, but cheaper than I am used. Pragati has a really light hand and did a great job with cleaning up my brows without causing any redness. She noted that the gap in between my brows was uneven and explained that she left some hair so it could grow in. She showed me the mirror after completing the first brow. I'll be coming back for her! I had my eyebrows threaded there and was disappointed with the experience. On the plus side the employees were nice, and the wait time was short. However, the person who threaded my eyebrows did it very quickly, was chatting with the other employees, and my eyebrows came out very thin and uneven. Given that I think she took off too much already, I didn't want her to fix it in fear that she would make it worse. I had to go home and fixed it myself. read more

Salon itself was nicely designed. Took pictures of the cut I wanted but ended up getting long layers instead, which still looked nice but wasn't the shag cut I wanted. I probably didn't speak up enough. The hairdresser was nice, but no heat protection was put in my hair before styling? $55 for a cut and style. I visited this salon because we had just moved to the area and it is close to my home and work. First I called the salon 3 times during the day with no answer. So after work I went to the salon requesting service since they specified walk ins were also welcome and they were open until 8p and at this time it was only 4:30pm. Upon entering the salon the lady there looked at me as if I had 4 heads. I simply asked her for a haircut and I mentioned that I tried calling several times during the day with no answer. She then didn't know what to say except (rudely) for that it wasn't a good time for me to be there? While she was talking to me she was giving another person a haircut and the other person was threading someone's eyebrows. It was such poor customer service considering I was a new client looking for a new salon. She didn't ask if I wanted to wait or offer to accommodate me in any way. She also did not anknowledge the fact that no one in her business was answering the phone all day. As a person that works in customer service in the area it was very noticeable that this business does not care about retaining new clients. I work with a lot of people all day and instead of maybe recommending them if I had a good experience, I will just make sure no one goes to this salon. I booked an appointment for a manicure and walked into a nice salon with very friendly staff. I was a little early for my appointment, but I patiently waited. Unfortunately my appointment started 10 minutes later than when I had originally scheduled it. The manicure itself wasn't so great, and within a day started chipping away. I did however get the best 5 minute hand treatment/massage, and that was probably the best part. I think they're probably good for haircuts, facials and massages, but if you're looking just for manicure, you should probably try somewhere else. This salon screwed my underarms. The beautician I guess wasn't trained to perform underarms waxing which caused initial red patch post waxing which turned into dark brown or blackish patch in my under arms. When I showed up after 1 week the manager and other beautician refused to acknowledge that this was caused due to their wax or beautician. It's been over month now and the patch has refused to fade. I hate this salon . Wish this fades soon. I feel depressed each time I see the patch . I can't wear sleeveless in this summer . I can't say enough about this place. This was my first time. I went in without an appointment, and even though they were busy - they took the time to make sure that I was comfortable and let me know exactly how long my wait would be (which was about 5 minutes). The only thing I dont like about this place is that it is very pricey!!!! I have been to this salon for threading, waxing , spa and the most recent hair coloring. However the only thing i like out of these is their threading even though its pricey compared to other salons here.I would rather not go for threading as well which saves me 4-5 bucks but if in a hurry then no choice, as it happens to be close by. However all their services are pretty expensive and the most recent visit made me write this review. I went for a hair coloring and after that when the stylist asked me about what kind of hair dry i need, i said blow dry. However when the stylist started to blow dry she ended up straightening my hair as well and telling me it was way too curly.To my surprise when the bill came i was shocked!! I ended up paying 50 bucks extra for the last part(blow dry n setting which i wasn't asked for). I think the least the people at this salon can do is ask the customer before they do something rather than just hand out the bill which is a shock. Also the prices for all their services are way too high compared to the other salons here. Never would i recommend this place to anyone. read more

I went here to get a haircut and was told it would be $25. I had pictures of what I wanted my cut to look like, but the stylist gave me something completely different and matronly-looking. She then suggested it would look better dry, so I asked if she could show me. She blow dries my hair without telling me that's an additional $20 charge! Needless to say, the hairstyle still looked unflattering dry. I asked her if I could get the style in the pictures I'd showed her, so she re-does the haircut. Once again, it's awful, and this time uneven. Frustrated, I just decide to leave. Imagine my surprise when I was asked to pay $45 for the horrible haircut! The next day I went to Supercuts and they fixed it for $16. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE ELSE before this place. read more

Good place for getting just eyebrows done. I went in for a express facial which was nothing but application of cream and a scrub ,no massage nothing for which they charged 40 ,lasted totally for 15 minutes which includes starting the facial 5 minutes late. Everything is over priced. read more
