For example, our wifi went out 2 weeks ago at 7pm at night during the covid crisis. As I needed this for work and kids school the next morning, I reached out to Jeff. First of all, I would like to state that I have never in my life written a review about anything -…read morecontractors, restaurants, amazon purchases, etc. However, dealing with Madrona has been such a long drawn out and negative experience that I want other people to be aware of what they're getting involved with. Additionally, our friends that recommended Madrona originally said they would rescind their recommendation once their fairly simple project dragged on for months. I would find a different company if I were you. Anyways, we moved into our home at the beginning of November 2013 and promptly set up an appointment with Madrona to update the home speaker system and additional home theater items. We thought the price was high, but they were recommended from a friend that was currently having work done by Madrona. To make a long story short, we signed the contract on 11/22/13 and today, 8/22/14, the project is still outstanding. Work started in January and the original team that came out to do the work was pleasant to work with but stated that our proposal included items that would not quite work with our set up. Therefore some items on our proposal were switched around and the project was put on hold as we waited for more supplies. This happened multiple times... One of our main visible speakers has never had a cover on it. We were told that it was a floor sample and that as soon as our speaker came in (we were told multiple times that it was ordered for us) they would come out and install it. We are still sitting here with a floor sample speaker in our living room without a cover on it. We tried to contact John multiple times to ask where our speaker was and have been informed that he left the company. We have now been dealing with Mike B and this is turning into a hassle also. Can we just have our speaker and be finished with this please? Additionally, our contract stated that we did not have to pay the last 10% until everything was complete, but John called repeatedly and stopped by our home requesting that we pay it because they were closing the books. I have no idea why we let ourselves be pressured by him and paid that remaining 10% - not very smart on our part. Therefore, go with Madrona if you want to pay for a never-ending project where you will never receive everything you were told you'd receive. This whole experience has been ridiculous.

We had our facility outfitted with an old madrigal security camera system with coax wires. After…read moregetting few estimates from installers, we could not believe how much savings SeattleDVR Inc. did to upgrade our system to 4K cameras. We chose to have 16 of 8 megapixel cameras. Peter was fantastic. He is trustworthy and responsive. He came out the same day and gave us 2 options, one that uses the coax wires as a network line that saved us tens of thousand dollars of cabling and wires, and another estimate from their installer that includes new Cat6e wires. The estimates are both almost half price than the quotes we got from 3 other big companies. After asking from the neighboring facilities, we found out they've done a lot of this old warehouses and have the knowledge, expertise and highly recommended. They planned out the location of each camera and relocate some to have a face recognizable images even wearing hats, or hood and read license plates as they come and go to our driveway. They took a lot of care to make sure the wire runs were perfectly, hidden and on conduit for outdoor cameras. There are zero wires visible. They far exceeded my expectations. The camera system is really nice, very crisp, clear video and the installation is perfect by the third party installer. The interface is so self-explanatory and easy to use.

When I called Island Security I talked to Seth and he couldn't have been nicer. When he heard my situation he recommended an appropriate solution and had Mike come out to install it. He took it on as a personal project to search out this intercom system (which was no longer made), get it sourced and sent to him, and Mike installed it, and yes it worked the first time around! When I walked in the house Christmas music was playing in all the rooms on the intercom system! He could have tried to do a major upsell but instead he tried to do exactly what I wanted which was repair what I had. If things work I don't want to replace them, I want to repair them. Seth gave me constant updates on the project, and was always courteous, charming, and considerate. I would highly recommend Island Security to anyone. I was charged for the service. Then the system devolved until I had to disconnect half of the alarms because they continually beeped, even with brand new batteries. I called for service, and a technician came out and "solved" the problem. Except that the problem was not solved. I have called the phone number on the bill and have repeatedly gotten the message that there was nobody to take the call. Not "nobody available", "representatives are busy" - just nobody to take the call. was this business taken over by scam artists?

They were technically wrong in the placement of combustable gas…read moredetectors in that they were put 12 inches above the floor for natural gas which we have and in the wrong room. I got no response from a request to move them so I did it myself. You can buy these things at Home Depot. Guidance from on line is very clear. The instruction manual by Johnson Controls is one size fits all and had 12 pages that were not applicable so a bit confusing. They have bern removed. Smoke detectors: Tec. info was not provided until I asked for it. Was told a "heat" detector would be placed just outside the kitchen so smoke from cooking would not set it off. WRONG.They installed a a standard smoke detector that alarmed the first time we fried a fish. That got replaced with a heat unit. The App: The console lists all sensors as it should. The App lists only non burglary sensors but includes one of two gas sensors. Why? Still waiting for an answer. All this in two months. I'm surprised they are still in business. Wish I could get my money back. The key box: Made in China and instructions writter by a Chinese person who spent 10 mins. in the US. I rewrote the whole thing in correct English and gave it to the salesman. ARRG.
