My wife and I just moved to the area not long ago, and were looking for new places to try. We decided to use AugustaToGo and ordered from here to see what it was like. We were very pleasantly surprised with the amount and quality of food we received. We started with some basic appetizers, and both the crab rangoon and the steamed dumplings were good. The dumplings, specifically, were not the large, mostly dough variety. I'm not sure if these folks usually put the plum sauce with it, as we received just a small cup of soy sauce, but it was still good and worth getting again. I also had a bowl of their wonton soup. It's not the best i've ever had, but it was sufficient. The only quibble i had with the soup was that the mixture in the wonton itself was slightly bland, but overall was good. She had their pepper beef, and it was flavorful and had a generous portion of beef rather than being mostly pepper. She also, as part of the combo, had a small order of their chicken wings (teriyaki, i think?). Whatever the case, they were absolutely delicious. The pork cri I had the curry chicken (my usual default at a new place) and was genuinely surprised that it contained an assortment of vegetables and chicken. Most places (where we're from) just add large portions of onion for filler (though one place used potatoes and it was really good, tbh). This was prepared properly and wasn't overly spicy. Very filling. We both also had a large cup of their bubble tea. She had the avocado, which was thick and incredibly good. I had their thai tea, and while it's different than I expected, it was likewise delicious. Curious to see what their coffee flavor tastes like next time. This is by far the worst food I might have ever had in literally my entire life and I've been deployed overseas. The was supposedly the House Special Chow Mein. I have been using yelp for years now and have never posted a review until now. I wouldn't wish this food on my worst enemy. This restaurant has been part of the Augusta scene for over 20+years and there is a reason why. There food is great and their service is attentive. Their lunch buffet is reasonable $ and a good variety of foods are offered. It's not huge, but actually I appreciate that since the food offered is great quality and filled often so that it's always available and HOT. My favorite is the Cantonese Boneless Chicken for dinner as the chicken is done perfectly-juicy but with a nice crisp coating. Their Chinese vegetables are cooked just right to have a bit of crispness when bitten into. I now live away from Augusta, but visit every couple of weeks and it has become a family tradition to come here for lunch or dinner. In fact, I often order their duck and mustard sauces so that I can use it for egg rolls at home. There are many other Chinese restaurants, but I have to say that New Ming Wah's is my favorite! read more

After my last experience I vowed to never visit this restaurant again. After failing to find decent Chinese food in Evans I decided to give them another try...night mistake. We ordered Almond Chicken, Mongolian Beef and Shrimp Fried Rice with large shrimp. Let's start witg the texture of the meat in the Mongolian Beef. It was odd, not like any beef I've ever had. It was also not spicy despite their menu and the person that took our order saying otherwise. The Almond Chicken was lukewarm bordering on cold and despite them saying the chicken was white meat it appears to be processed chicken. The shrimp fried rice was cold and seemed to be pre-made rice that they tossed a few shrimp into. It wasn't even throughly mixed with the shrimp basically sitting on top. All in all, years ago this place was awesome now it seems shortcuts have replaced quality. Very disappointing and definitely won't waste a trip here again. read more

The cost of the buffet with a drink will cost you about $9.50 and its not worth it. Yikes. Let me say that again. YIKES! It looks like they do a fair amount of take out but I stopped in quick to catch a bite and the buffet was bad. The booths are well worn and lumpy. The things that were obviously dried out from sitting under the heat lamp too long (you know so over cooked that the noodles have gone back dry and are now a permanent fixture at the bottom of the food tray) I stayed away from but the things I tried were covered in super sweet, gloopy, very salty sauces. I had one plate and it was more than enough. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the waitress there was very nice and engaging. But I must say if you want a Chinese buffet you need to head somewhere else. read more

This Chinese restaurant is pretty good. I like their food and the place is very clean. The flavor is a little different here than some of the other places I've eaten. The seasoning is not as strong as some of the others. I like the ribs and I am a fan of most General Tso or Tao pronounced (Chow) Chicken. Pork or shrimp fried rice is good here. I am normally pleased with the lunch buffet. It doesn't have as many choices as some of the others but I like many of the selections they've edited to to provide a well-rounded buffet which includes fresh California Rolls and other Sushi selections. I like that it is much quieter than others and I notice many Asian families dine here. They have 2 flat screens which are nice and they play the same thing on each! I love the bubble tea. read more

We came in before the buffet was open, so ordered off the menu. Sesame chicken and fried rice was delicious. I recommend it over everything else, although the lo mein and orange chicken are also very good. The service was great and fast. This place is underrated. Only odd thing is the shrimp in the shrimp lo mein looked odd.. pink, appeared not fully cooked. May be ignorance on my part not knowing much about shrimp. Ordered take out. Fried rice was great! Almond chicken was very delicious, like old fashioned almond chicken, not processed chicken balls most Chinese places serve. Spicy cabbage was good, but sauce was different-too thick. Sesame chicken and General Tso's chicken was really good. Egg rolls were okay, not the best I've ever had. We ended taking the majority of the meal out because the waitress never returned to our table for the refills requested nor the boxes to take out. Just don't. Got a large order, and food was tough and old. Worst, the chicken fried rice - how do you mess that up? - smelled and tasted soured. It had sat long enough to turn. This restaurant has a lunch buffet, and I suspect much of our food was left over from that, six hours later. Service was meh, to be kind, and the bubble tea, while good, took nearly ten minutes to prepare. The egg roll and pork fried rice were okay, and the fortune and almond cookies - which the order preparer somehow forgot to add - were fine. I decided to try this place for the first time yesterday 2/18. Driving up to this place the parking lot was empty and there were very few customers inside, I should have known something was wrong with this place. What Chinese restaurant have almost no customers on a Friday night? Any way I decided to give it a go. I am PLANT BASED so I ordered their black bean /tofu and their sesame tofu. Both of them were inedible slop! The dishes were made form the cheap soft tofu which is NOT supposed to be cooked in savory dishes. Anyone with common sense know that you should use the extra firm tofu because it holds up well when cooked and it has a meat like texture. So the Black bean tofu consisted of some raw mushy tofu thrown up in some type of weird tasting sauce and it was disgusting. The sesame tofu had greasy mushy tofu with sesame seeds that looked like dog food. Then they gave me two over priced small and greasy spring rolls for 4 bucks. For both meals and the rolls I paid 27 dollars and all of it went into the GARBAGE! It was a total waste of money. I would not recommend vegetarians or anyone to go to this dump! We lived in Augusta 25 years ago, and Ming Wah was the gold standard for great Chinese food. New Ming Wah, a "spin off" opened a few years after we left, and used to be just as good. However, on our recent visit back to Augusta, we found the food had really gone downhill, and not nearly as good as it used to be. We'll try the original Ming Wah on our next visit. read more

I work in Augusta regularly and stop into Ming Wah pretty frequently for the lunch buffet. They don't do a lot of heavy sauces so their dishes seem to be on the lighter side. Plenty of fresh veggie options and some inventive takes on some Chinese buffet staples. Recommended! read more
