I have been getting mani/pedis here for 10 years. My nails always look great! They have a tv on most of the time and aren't really chatty, but they are friendly and don't rush you. I love that they start early and are open on Saturdays. The Vibe there is pretty chill. They don't chit chat with the customers and it's pretty quiet other than the television. Prices can and do change periodically, but they are still the best bang for your buck. PS...If you want a set of nails or anything to do with repairs or fill ins on extensions, you must call and make an appointment. read more

I have been going to New Nails for several years. When my mom visits from Pittsburgh, she also enjoys coming to this salon with me. I have never had a problem with the service until today. To restate, I have come here for years and know everyone that works here. Today, I just wanted my toes painted with gel polish- no change of polish, no pedicure. I called for pricing before coming. I was told $15 for regular polish and $25 for gel. I chose gel. When I went to pay, she tells me I owe $32 and change. I explain that I was told $25. The lady who spoke to me on the phone comes over and tells me $30 plus tax without acknowledging that she misspoke, made a mistake, etc. Several of the employees spoke in their language in front of me and refused to adjust the price or apologize. Today, they lost a loyal customer over $7, when in the long run, I've paid hundreds. It's so upsetting that I was not respected as a regular customer. In my opinion, running a small business is primarily about customer service. I can go anywhere to get my nails done. I will pay for the service, but if I am not treated well, I will go elsewhere. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went to this shop for a gel polish. After 5 days, 3 tips had come loose. I returned to the shop to get them repaired. I signed in. There were two people waiting at the time. These customers were taken back for their service When I asked if I could get a repair the lady told me I would have to wait another 30 minutes. Two more walks came in and they took those two customers after I had already had already waited 30 minutes for a 5 minute repair. When I asked when I could get my repair, the lady replied in a very disgusted tone. "We take full pay people first". I was leaving on vacation and wanted my repair so I waited until no other walk ins came in. When she finally got to me, she was very rough and burned my nail bed with her drill. She was extremely rude and annoyed to do my repair. She left a large chunk out of the center of the nail. I ended up picking up her file and shaped the nail myself. When I left the shop, I told her I would never be back. She began to yell at me, We take "full pay people first". She began to shout at me as I walked out the door. These people are very rude and often do not even acknowledge or greet you when you walk in. Look for new owners soon. This place won't be around long treating people like this! I have no idea why this place isn't lighting up Yelp. I've gotten Mani/pedis all over town, from the priciest spa and salon to the sketchiest nail spot. I'm here to tell you that Minh and his crew do the best and longest lasting nail job around. They have various price levels from basic to fancy. They are thorough and do an exceptionally high quality job. I've been coming to him for years and have followed him across town even though there are other nail places closer. I used to come here all the time and it was great, but the last two times I've gone, everything was rushed. If I wanted my toe nails painted and that only, I would've painted them at home. I come and get a pedicure to get a massage and good treatment. I went to cosmetology school and I know how to give a pedicure and this ain't it. No massage and bad service. Would not recommend. We made appointments and when we went in they took our name and said it would be just a minute. We waited for 1 hour before we were taken. Then the nail tech did not know how to shape my nails in an elegant and chic way. I'm very particular about my nails. I stopped in to get an eyebrow wax, there was no one else in the waiting area; I did see that all the workers were busy with other clients, so I signed in and sat and waited. No one ever acknowledged me, no one said hey it's going to be this long, etc. I waited 45 minutes, a girl walks in to get her nails done and they seat her immediately; they still say nothing to me; I got the occasional worker to look at me and then look away. Stopped in to New Nails today because I was in the area, had some time to kill and my nails were in desperate need of attention. They were able to get me right in and Kim did a fantastic job on my Gel Mani! It's very clean and modern inside and the technicians are super friendly. First let me address Swehta's comment. How narcissistic to believe anyone talking in a "native language" is talking about you. Stick to the service. Very convenient, clean salon open 7 days a week! Rushed home from work and they were able to do a gel/shellac manicure and a pedicure for me even though they were closing soon. I really appreciate them staying open for that! Now that I know this is here I'll be swinging by every 2 weeks. I've been roughing it without a place open on Sunday's or late enough for my chaotic work schedule :/ FYI: your service must start 30 min prior to close if you're trying to go around closing time. Also, my iPhone took me all the way into New Albany by the Main Street roundabout (by CVS and the post office) but they are actually right by Blue Agave and Subway on Johnstown Rd by 161. The worst nail salon in Ohio. I had a woman doing my nails. On my toes she tried to apply two coats in a super light color and she had to do three more coats per my request until it looked decent. for my manicure she kept nicking my skin with the file and when I asked for someone else she said I needed to wait for an hour and get behind all the other people in line. The worst customer service I've ever received. She didn't care at all. Of course the manager wasn't available so I had no one to talk to. DO NOT go here. I went to get my nails done for Halloween. When I got there they said it would be a twenty minute wait, which was no big deal. I ended up waiting 45. My nail tech was incredibly rude and disrespectful to me. She also did not do a good job. She clipped my cuticles too close and made me bleed and said it was nothing. When she put the light on me, she burned the top of my fingers. They still hurt 4 hours later. You could tell who were the regular people vs the new people because they wouldn't make conversation with the new people. When it was getting close to closing time they started to rush a little because they did two layers on one hand and one layer on the other. I am never going back there again and definitely wouldn't recommend this salon. I would recommend the salon En Vogue Nails. read more

Because I work a lot I rarely get to pamper myself but today I decided to drop in for a pedicure and I'm beyond happy that I did! I had Kim and she was absolutely AMAZING!!! My pedicure was luxurious, relaxing and gentle and we chatted the whole time! She is a gem and it was more like two girlfriends hanging out and relaxing than two strangers. The shop is beautiful and inviting, the massage chairs are comfy but the company is better than you will get anywhere else! Extremely disappointed in the customer service. Had a gel manicure and pedicure a few days ago, both in the same color. The manicure color drastically changed (mauve to dark brown - yuck) so I went back to ask if they would fix it. At first they said yes, but I would need to wait 15 minutes. I waited, only to have them tell me that it was the my fault and the color looked fine... It's a cheap manicure so if I walked in and they said they wouldn't fix it, whatever. Here goes.... I have been coming to this salon for about 3 years now and never had an issue. However, this past week was very different. I went for a gel manicure on 11/28. Not even 4 days later, my nails started literally shredding off of my fingers. it was like the gel wasn't even a coating on my nails. I was soooo distraught that I called and asked them to please repair my nails. The lady who answered the phone was very nice and happily said yes. When i arrived i was warmly welcomed, I was told to go to the open table. So I sat down, 3 or 4 of the nail techs came over and were pointing at my nails and laughing. They were speaking in their language to each other and continued to snicker and point. My nail tech looked at my hands, picked out the worst one and started away with repairing ( you can see in the photos, it is my middle finger on my left hand ) Meanwhile, the other techs were still hovering and laughing, whispering, etc. Even to the point where the customer next to me was completely turned around in her chair staring at me and the situation. When the tech was finished with my nails, she said she was done. Did not even do so much as offer to touch any of my other nails. Complete WASTE of TIME and MONEY. If you want your nails to look completely trashed, fall off of your fingers, and have no way to fix the situation..... be my guest in giving this salon your business. I just retuned home. I got my spa pedicure and gel polish manicure at New Nails. I'm totally not satisfied with their work but more importantly not happy with how they treated me. They were constantly making remarks in their native language and I felt extremely uncomfortable because it was obvious they were discussing me. They did not clean under my nails and when I asked they just said its not coming and told me to move to another chair and wait for another person. I waited 10 minutes for another person. Once finished the tech accidentally dropped a towel fell on my toes and I asked if they could fix where it messed up the paint on one toe she got annoyed and said something to another customer about me. Additionally, when I simply questioned the bill asking for itemization they looked at me as if I were crazy. I will never go back here. read more

Anyone looking at her review please consider that all other reviewers have given 4 or 5 Stars for their experience with New Nails services and the staff. I have been a customer for 2+ years now and have had manicures (regular and gel polish), pedicures (from the most affordable to the organic, hot stone) as well as wax services (brows, upper lip, chin/ Neck) and have NEVER had a bad experience. I am generally a walk-in and don't mind waiting if the wait is reasonable (no more than 20 minutes) - Kelly and her friendly staff always advise me of the wait time and propose an alternate time for me to come back. Lately I have been calling for same day appointments and I am always treated with the utmost respect. I am very satisfied with Kelly and her knowledgeable staff; yes sometimes they speak in their native language but it is not true that they speak badly or negatively about their customers - New Nails is a professional salon that is run with honesty and integrity. Since it is Kelly's business I say that she and her staff are allowed to speak any language they wish to speak and anyone who doesn't like it should go ostracize another beauty/ nail salon. All services that I have had done have always been impeccable; if the staff makes a mistake they fix it right there for free so to state that any staff member didn't apologize and fix the problem is a blatant lie by Swetha N. This was a very disappointing experience for me. It's closing in on Christmas time and I dropped into this new(er) location by my home in New Albany to get a full set before festivities. The gentleman that did my nails (I apologize I do not have his name, he was the only man at this location) was not very kind and I am having to now undo his "work" this evening by appointment at a different salon. Usually I love writing positive reviews, but I have to say that this was the worst experience at a nail salon I have ever had. He did not do cuticles, the nails are diagonal and each is misshapen. I have an appointment at different salon to remove all nails and re-do this evening. I asked him to fix his mistakes throughout the experience however each time he tried he made things worse. I will never go back to this location and I will be very vocal about this experience. His carelessness, rudeness, and lack of concern has caused him multiple possible customers. read more

It's a clean and friendly place that does great manicures and pedicures. I've never had a waxing done here but I've seen many others come in for those appointments as well. They have all of the latest colors and techniques and are constantly trying new products. The prices are very reasonable and they'll always try to get you in. Give them a try... I 100% do not recommend going here and if you, be prepared to get a mediocre job done and over charged. I just got back from going there and all their prices on their menu are incorrect. I paid a ridiculous amount just to get a fill on my acrylics and they're not well done. What is shown on their colour samples is not close to being the same colour in the bottle. I am so disappointed in this place not only because I got taken advantage of and overcharged but because my nails look like I did them at home (and I am NOT an artist).
