The new Sakura was a pleasant surprise. My Sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was very clean which was extremely important to us. Food was fresh and plenty of it. Sis and I ordered the Combo plates with the Teriyaki Chicken or Beef, Miso Soup, and Salad with Homemade Ginger Dressing. Menu is very extensive so you are bound to find something to eat. We definitely recommend it. read more

Without a doubt, the best place for sushi around. Not only is everything absolutely delicious, the staff seem the most welcoming and attentive. We've never tried a bad roll here, while other local places have left much to be desired. My only complaint is that I'm not able to come more often! Haha. read more

We are staying at a hotel nearby and looked at yelp for recommendations on sushi places. This place had great reviews so I decided to go here. I called in an order and showed up and there was no one in the parking lot and it kind of scared me. I went In and picked up my to go order and The lady said they weren't busy because of the fires nearby which is understandable. I brought the sushi home to my family and my husband and daughter said it was really good. The only problem is they only put one set of chopsticks in and didn't ask us how many people we had considering there were four different sushi items??? Review is for the lunch I had today. Service was good. I ordered ahead of time and the food was ready for me when I arrived. However, I do not recommend the Shrimp Yakisoba noodles...worst I have ever tasted. The food smelled good but flavor was awful. The noodles were drenched in a sauce that just had an unpleasant taste. Really yummy and fresh fish. I like their portions of rice to sushi. The filets are big and cover a nice small portion of stickey rice. The rolls are phenominal also portioned well. We have only gotten take out and never had to wait more than 20 minutes even when super busy. I can't stress the freshness of the fish. Sushi was good, but our server was terrible. He walked around like he was in a daze. Never once asked if we needed anything and then we had to go find him to get our bill. There was another server there, but she had her own tables to take care of. Although she did help us with a few things. The food was good enough I would go back except the service ruined it for us. Low quality fish with no texture. Soft shell crab in spider roll (Cherry Blossom) tasted like amonia and was not edible (cost $17!) Very slow snd unwelcoming service. Not the place for an experienced sushi lover. read more

I truly love this place. I have never been a big seafood eater but my spouse is and has broadened my tastes a bit. The fried rolls are to die for. My only complaint is I can never get out of here for less than $70 for the two of us. I wish they had a sampler menu so I try new things without buying the store. read more

Happy hour is great here from 2-5. Worth it for the value. The vegetable tempura roll is delicious. Good and fast. They do not skimp and that is how it is suppose to be done. Worth a stop for lunch and dinner. The place is kept clean and the staff is friendly. Good for Medford. read more

The first cup of hot tea that was delivered tasted like dishwater. That was happily replaced with a better cup. The chicken teriyaki in the bento box was rubbery and the sauce was thick and sweet like bottled teriyaki. Visiting a good friend of mine who recently moved to Medford and I was looking for a great Japanese or Korean restaurant for us to eat at -- her family recommended this place and it was deliciousness! I got the Korean Sashimi Salad and it had nice big, fresh chunks of sake and maguro, tobiko, and a delicious gochujang dressing! It's a Korean version of a chirashi which is sushi rice covered in sashimi and greens. My kids had the salmon bento and the tonkatsu bento which they loved. The servings are generous and the service, though can be considered a little slow, is congenial and friendly. (They sometimes only have one person serving the entire restaurant) -- My friend had the pork teriyaki bento which was actually delicious despite the fact that I normally do not like teriyaki sauce. The salad dressing, ponzu sauce, and other sauces are all house made and here's the 'd' word again: delicious. Tangy, a great balance between salty and sweet. It is the best sushi in the valley-not just Medford, the entire valley. Very fresh fish and superb rice, in addition to a broad, reasonably priced menu. The service is excellent, the owners, Mike and Kay, do everything right. Take-out is fabulous-love the sashimi platters. Only negative: I do wish there were not TV's on, and customers really need to keep their loud kids under control. This nice place is not a playground. read more

WOW!!! This is now my favorite Japanese place. We had a party of 6 and the service was top notch. The gyoza was hot, crunchy and very tasty. Next time will place two orders. Sushi rolls were awesome, really fresh and super good. The sashimi was premiun cuts of tuna. Chicken teriyaki was good, the tempura was flaky not soggy at all. The salad dressing was yummy. Not very good at all! I had the chicken bento and it wasn't very good at all! The chicken was gross, because the teriyaki sauce that it was bathing in was disgusting! The 4 little pieces of California roll that came with it were okay, not amazing, and the fried pork potstickers weren't that good. All in all, I wasn't very impressed with Sakura. read more

Excellent food!! I had the beef teriyaki Bento and the beef was the most tender I have ever eaten. The dressing on the salad was delicious. Best sushi in town! The alligator roll, pacific roll and rock star roll are amazing. The service is awesome and the staff is friendly.
