I visited for a new patient appointment just yesterday. I'd been happy with my previous optometrist but new insurance required me to find a new provider. I chose this clinic based on its location and positive reviews I saw on Yelp. All the office staff were courteous and friendly. I didn't have a babysitter and brought my 2yr old and infant with me which is obviously not ideal. There were a few toys in the office that my 2yr old played with while we waited. During my exam he used our iPad to watch a show and when my infant started to get fussy, the staff offered to hold him for me. They ended up holding my baby through my entire appointment and while I chose glasses! I'd expected to have to come back to choose glasses just due to the logistics of having 2 tiny people with me but they made it possible and we're so kind about it. The staff was very thorough in helping me understand what my insurance covered and told me about some additional offers they had going at the time. I purchased a pair of everyday glasses. I'd hoped to also purchase sunglasses but didn't love the selection available. The only thing that would have given my experience another star was if the selection of glasses and sunglasses would have been a little larger. Either way, I'll be back for my next appointment. read more

As it turns out, I have become old. I don't feel old, but the truth can't be denied. As an old person, I need more vision correction than one pair of glasses can offer. In order to do my job well being in front of a computer or a drafting board most of the day, I need a special set of progressive lenses just for computer and office use. I am not thrilled by this fact, but I am thrilled with the service and attention I have continued to receive at New View. Dr. Kasanoff as taken considerable extra time to help me get exactly what I need to function at peak performance in my work. Nancy and Jessica M. have been fantastic as well. They are extremely nice, and have achieved that rare balance of professionalism and humor. They remember my name, and I feel always welcome and comfortable. I have a great deal of confidence in Dr. Kasanoff's judgement and guidance. I've been wearing contact lenses for nearly 40 years and I have never had such competent advice, or detailed evaluation. I also appreciate that the annual checkups provided by Dr. Kasanoff's office are so thorough, and reasonably priced. The entire staff obviously cares about customer service, and I've never felt pressured to buy anything. I do, however, buy my contact lenses through his office because I'd rather give him the business rather than a big box or internet company. Dr. Kasanoff and his staff were all so welcoming and wonderful! They were great at communicating my results, options, and costs of each option through my insurance. I've gone to eye doctors where I end up spending hundreds of dollars just on frames, because they did not make it clear to me which frames, exams, and lens options were covered vs. out of pocket. They have the updated technology to make the whole exam very comfortable (no puff of air in the eyeballs!). I decided to choose this place based off Yelp reviews. I made appointments for my entire family to get eye exams last week. The ladies at the front desk are extremely pleasant as well as Dr. David. They all took the time to let us know exactly what it is we would be doing during the appointment and instructions were very clear. They never tried to push selling things on us just had a few recommendations and Dr. David gave me a few free eye drops to help with the dryness. My husband can be a bit picky with certain places but in his words "That place is so good and they're all so nice! We need to go there for every check up and any vision issues." All in all we had a great experience and will definitely be going back. read more

I had a contact lense emergency and luckily New View was able to fit me in on the same day...such a blessing. Staff was friendly and professional at all times. The Technician took care of me right away with the vision tests and such although I did have to wait a bit for the O.D. to see me -I didn't mind at all since I was thankful I got in on the same day. The Technician did apologize up and down about the delay and stated this didn't usually happen...they try to keep the doctor on schedule. I believe her. The exam with the doc went very well, he took the time to explain things and we went over some options for my contact lenses. I definitely walked out with a good understanding. I did have a problem understanding the insurance coverages and my portion of the expenses which was higher than I expected. But, both the front office staff and the doctor took the time to explain the charges to my satisfaction. I think I found an optometrist that'll take care of my eyes for years to come. read more

These guys are the best! Dr. Kasanoff is very kind, informative and comforting. Despite his busy schedule, he's taken the time to answer all my silly questions and patiently fulfilled all my demanding requests (like getting a prescription for 30 day wear contacts, and color contacts, and semi color contacts, and daily wear contacts, and regular glasses... because I'm a diva). If I were him I would have told me to get out of his office for being such an annoying nuisance, but he has been nothing but gracious and generous. Jessica and Nancy are always very sweet and helpful. When going through the preliminary eye exams, Jessica makes me feel like we're old friends, and not just another nameless patient going through a routine. And when I took like 5 hours to pick out a sunglasses frame, Nancy didn't scoff, rather she made sure I took all my choices outside to test drive them in the sunlight. The only thing I would change about this place is if they could have a 1 day 90% off sale on their Face A Face frames.... then I'd clean them out. read more

Looking for a thorough eye exam and new glasses? This place is terrific. For years I was going to West Coast Eye Care and kept having the feeling I was in some kind of eye glass mill. The last exam I got there lasted a few minutes and I ended up with glasses that gave me a head ache. I got to the point where I just gave up, stopped wearing my glasses and did not get any more exams...even though I have insurance. I found New View Opto here on Yelp and was totally jazzed. The doctor spent a lot of time with me. Asked a ton of questions. Tested my eyes on several machines. The end product was a prescription was dead on. Best staff I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. So nice and professional yet you can feel how much they care about you as a person. Definitely not "just a job" to anyone. From the ladies in the front to Dr.Kasanoff himself. He explained my diagnosis in laymans terms and checked for any possibility concerning my eye health. The ladies in the front helped me for 45 minutes as I sat there and tried on multiple square black frame eyeglasses and gave me their feedback on which one's suited me best. I haven't even been to an eye doctor for 5 years because I just abosolutely hate going. But Dr David was great; I didn't feel nervous at all. I seriously LOVE Dr. Kasanoff very much. He makes it his aim not just go through the motions of typical eye exam but first starting out by asking how your day was, if there is anything new going on, etc. An interchange of communication so much that you feel like you're catching up with a friend (a friend that knows how to care for you eyes that is!) I've lived in various places from Spring Valley to El Cajon to Bario Logan-- from having insurance to not having insurance and I just cannot go anywhere else. Another year, another eye exam, and I'm still satisfied with the service I receive at New View by Dr. Kasanoff. Each eye test you go through is explained so you understand what is being checked for your eye health. After the tests, Dr. Kasanoff will go through your results and explain how your eyes are doing and any concerns he may have. I think I know more about my eyes' health than any other part of my body. They continue to have a great selection of glasses to choose from, and you can also bring in your own frames (ie: when I turned my sunglasses into Rx sunglasses). I've been coming to New View Optometric Center for about a year now. They have wonderful customer service and Dr. Kasanoff is very polite and helpful. Last year I was looking to get new glasses and the staff was super helpful. I must've been in there looking for frames for over an hour. They watched me try on all types of different frames and helped narrow it down! They are very quick to respond to your messages and have many ways to remind you about your appointment. I also really enjoy that the office staff break down what my insurance does and does not pay for. Being on my own insurance for the first time, it was very helpful that they took the time to explain everything to me. I checked Yelp to find a new optometrist because I had a different doctor overtime I went to my previous office. I liked the fact that he had been in that office for over 20 years. Call me old fashioned, but I wanted to have a relationship with my doctor and have the same person help me everytime I go in... especially since I will be going in for LASIK in the next year or so. Dr. David Kasanoff was great. He know his stuff and made my visit fantastic. Jess and Jessica were up front (both named Jessica) and they were the sweetest. They helped me pick between all the different frames that they have until I found my fav pair (RayBans). Dr. Kasanoff also gave me three different types of contacts to try before I purchase my year supply. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for an eye doctor. I went to this office for an eye check, the optometrist there during my eye check informed me I had cataracts. I therefore went on to have surgery to remove them, now I am back there to get my prescription for glasses filled there. The ladies working there are very nice and helpful in my selection for my glasses and the optometrist is very nice and helpful as well. Kudos to this office. read more

I haven't been able to wear torics that fit comfortably until I saw Dr. Kasanoff a few yrs ago. He is very thorough and excellent clinically as an optometrist. He and his office manager, Jessica, really care about their patients. I witnessed them giving a patient a free pair of contacts and solution when the patient insisted on driving home without his glasses that they were sending away to have lenses replaced. I have been going to Costco for years but wanted to try a new Dr. for both my daughter and myself. I chose New View thanks to the great reviews on Yelp and they worked in network with my insurance (no reimbursements). I could not be happier with my experience! When I called to make the appointment the woman was extremely helpful and made sure to book my daughter and I together so I could be in and out as efficiently as possible. From the time I walked in I was made to feel welcome and at ease. The office itself is very nice and welcoming as is the staff. Dr. Kasanoff was extremely pleasant and professional. He listened to all of my questions and concerns and tried many options to get me the very best results in my prescription. He was also fantastic with my 16 year old and offered a great solution that no other Dr. had suggested before. She is a new driver and I appreciated that Dr. Kasanoff kept that in mind as he worked with her. A few year's ago a friend recommended Dr. Kasanoff to me as I needed a new eye doctor. He and his staff are friendly and personable. I never have to wait more than three minutes, ever! I had an afternoon appointment this past weekend and they called to tell me they had a cancellation and could take me earlier in the day.
