Made the pilgrimage to new wave bagel and it didn't disappoint. Great sourdough flavor, SUPER CHEWY and great crunchy crust. Also super delicious cream cheese! Which if I recall is made in-house or produced local? I'll definitely be back when visiting San Diego County. Also the stamp of approval from my little guy! He's requested I try to recreate some pretzel bagels for him at home. Thank you to the staff, who were very attentive and super sweet to my littles whom tagged along with me.

I was in the area and decided to check this place out. I had really wanted to try the lox n bagel, but upon entering found out they weren't able to do sandwich styles yet, or even put cream cheese on your bagels. As much as I wanted to try their bagels anyway I was sad to see their everything didn't have everything on it. So instead I ordered the coffee cake. Man, not only was that thing huge, it was moist and delicious. Hopefully the next time I visit, they will be able to serve more items, otherwise I'll just stick to that coffee cake.

Ts is pretty fire bro. I'm no bagel connoisseur but it was crispy outer but fluffy inner, no rubbery sensations here. Also the cream cheese choices are absolutely game changing here. This chili crisp crack cream cheese was so good had me straight eating it out the container with no bagel left.

Absolutely adore the creative bagel and cream cheese flavors that new wave keeps putting out! The nori sesame bagel with chili crisp scallion cream cheese was such a cool fusion of flavors

I love that this is a simple bagel and cream cheese joint. Nothing crazy no crazy toppings and extra things to add on. It's straight to the point you pick your bagel type and cream cheese and that's it. The bagels were so fresh! Cream cheese was amazing! And I love that you spread it yourself! Service was so fast! The building is a small quaint joint. Highly recommend!

Stopped by New Wave Bagel in Encinitas to grab bagels for a few of my accounts in the area and had such a great experience. The staff was incredibly nice and went above and beyond once they realized the bagels were for multiple shops. They helped me split everything into separate boxes and even made sure each one had cream cheese and utensils for spreading. That level of thoughtfulness and customer service really stood out. The bagels themselves were fresh and really good, with a solid variety to choose from. Yes, it's a little on the pricier side, but honestly that's pretty standard for Encinitas. You can tell they care about what they're putting out. I'm especially excited to come back once they expand their kitchen. Sounds like hot sandwiches are coming soon, which will be a game changer. I'm a sucker for a breakfast bagel sandwich. Definitely looking forward to bringing more of my clientele food from here and sharing the love. Great bagels, great service, great location!

Finally got around to trying new wave bagel! They are only open 4 days a week which was part of the reason it took me so long. We didn't have a long line which was great (I've heard it can get pretty lengthy). They have a ton of interesting flavors to chose from. I went with a rosemary sea salt and a honey butter salt. They also have a wide variety of cream cheese flavors. One thing I didn't love was there is no toaster. Now, arguably a toaster isn't necessary for bagels when they come out fresh & warm, but these were not warm so that was a bit of a miss for me. Still enjoyed them nonetheless and would go back to try some other flavors. I didn't have the opportunity to try the coffee but my friends did and said it was great. We briefly met the roaster who was kind and friendly, much like the rest of the staff.

Let me tell you about these 100% sourdough bagels from New Wave Bagels! Delicious! They sell savory and sweet combination and a variety of different smears to intensify your bagel taste buds! My first visit since their soft opening on 8/30/25. New Wave shares the space with Crossings Coffee Roasters where you can also order your caffeine fix! The wait line for the bagels can vary and when they are out, they are out! Arrive early to get a larger selection to choose from. Currently, they have about 8 bagel selections. I choose to try the Peach and Blackberry Bialy, Double Chocolate, Toasted Nori Sesame with the Chives Smear! I went home and made a Smoke Salmon and fried egg bagel. I look forward to the finish construction of the shop and a variety of more options! If they're out, don't worry, you can also head over to Ironsmith Roasters to grab a bagel and coffee.

A small unassuming cafe off the side of the main road offers a variety of bagels and baked goods. I enjoyed the smear much more than the bagels but the bagels were good none the less. Do come early though because they sold out of a lot of flavors before noon. The pricing was also affordable and it's a nice place to grab an early morning bite if you're nearby.

Amazing sourdough bagels & cream cheese flavors!!! I've tried several different flavors and they are all so good! Their savory bialy bagels are absolute fire! You must try!! Service was quick & friendly! If you have any questions, they have answers!! I'm hoping they get a toaster soon... but the bagels are still amazing not toasted! Will be back to try more flavors!!

salted honey brown butter bagel

best bagel i've had, regardless of coast! The crust is crispy, and the sourdough flavor really comes through, I can't wait until they have bagel sandwiches! We tried the nori sesame, blueberry, everything, and the salted honey brown butter with the chili crisp scallion and the lemon meringue spread and all were FANTASTIC. I can't wait to come back! One note is that although it says everywhere they open at 8, the doors were open before then, so not sure about their actual hours/how long the lines usually are :)

I came for the bagels, excited to have high quality bagels in North County. And while they did not disappoint, the cream cheeses wound up being the real star, and I say that as someone who does not usually care about cream cheese. We tried three bagels (chili crisp everything, rosemary garlic, and brown butter honey) and three cream cheeses (chili crisp scallion, jalapeño green goddess, and lemon meringue) and generally paired them in those orders. All were good, but the brown butter honey bagel was the surprise favorite, while the chili crisp scallion and lemon meringue were the favorite spreads. Highly recommend this shop. The owner was also incredibly friendly. Can't wait to go back

So we have been going here 8 weeks straight.... And it's because of Jenny. She is the most AMAZING…read moreserver we have had in Encinitas to this day. She literally busts her ass, whether we come with a group of 4 or a group of 12, she makes sure each and every one of us is taken care of and will bend over backwards to get us what we want. Literally the only reason we come here because the rest of the service couldn't even match her energy if they tried.

He was taking orders, pouring beers, running food, clearing tables, and trying to do everything himself. I actually felt bad for him because there was no way one person could handle that crowd. The place quickly turned into complete chaos. People were waiting in line for 45 minutes or longer just to place an order. Not to get food. Not to get drinks. Just to order. By the time you finally got to the front, there was a good chance they were out of whatever you wanted anyway. They ran out of wings within about 20 minutes of opening, which is pretty unbelievable for a sports bar on one of the biggest soccer days of the year. They also ran out of multiple beers and a huge portion of the menu. At one point they even ran out of actual beer pitchers because they didn't have enough on hand. The craziest part is that none of this should have been a surprise. The USA World Cup game was scheduled. They knew people were coming. This wasn't some unexpected rush. I can appreciate that the owner was working hard and doing his best, but the problem was clearly a lack of planning. Not enough staff, not enough inventory, not enough preparation. What should have been a fun place to watch a World Cup match ended up being an exercise in standing in line and hearing "sorry, we're out of that" over and over again. Definitely not a place I would trust to handle a big game day crowd.

So I keep trying new spots hoping one finally hits. I'd driven past Urban Teri Kitchen a bunch of times taking my kids to practices and games and finally decided to stop in. Didn't even check Yelp first. Just went in blind based on a good feeling about the place. Glad I did. I ordered the half-and-half with chicken teriyaki and katsu, and honestly it was one of the better teriyaki plates I've had anywhere around here. The chicken was flavorful, the katsu was crispy without being greasy, and everything tasted fresh. It's a little pricier than some teriyaki spots, but the quality backs it up. My wife and I could easily split one order next time. I came in around 4 PM, so it wasn't packed, but the people inside looked happy, the restaurant was clean, and the whole place just had a really good vibe. Sometimes you can tell within a minute whether a place cares about what they're doing, and this felt like one of those spots. There's a reason they've got 4.7 stars. If anything, I'd say that rating is deserved.

Aubrey greeted us with our names and knew what we were celebrating. They made sure everything we were carrying was taken care of. They remembered if we were left- or right-handed. They remembered our water preferences. They gave us a pleasant birthday surprise for my dad. They sent us home with a customized, signed card. The food was incredible. With each dish, I wasn't longing for a previous course. I was genuinely enjoying tasting every moment, and believed that each course was better than the last, even as I got full. The caviar ice cream was mind-blowing. The bread pulled apart like cotton candy. Each dish was plated beautifully, looked like a bouquet of flowers, or was scooped up off the forest floor (in the nicest way possible). This was only my 2nd time having a meal with veggie and fruit juice pairings; the other was at an amazing restaurant in NYC. The service was top-notch. The staff were attentive, warm, and really great at matching our energy throughout the night. I spent so much time asking the mixologist so many questions and you could tell he loved his job so much. The setup is really cute on the inside as well and I was able to sit comfortably at a table with my daughter's stroller right next to me. Upon entering, I was greeted right away. I already knew that I wanted to order the Khao Soi because I had looked up their menu and pictures way before coming in and it looked like their specialty. I ordered an iced jasmine green tea as well and chose a table to sit at. The woman who took my order was really nice and helpful with ordering. My food didn't take long to come out, and it was DELICIOUS. This was my first time trying this dish so I didn't know what to expect but it was everything and more. It was topped with what I think was fried onion and chili crisp as well for some added spice. The tea was also so delicious, the crushed ice they use is my favorite. The tea was garnished with an orange slice and my toddler decided to much on it. The woman who took my order noticed my daughter eating the orange slice and she brought me out a couple more on the side. You really don't experience that level of customer service anymore, so it was such a sweet gesture. They have a lot of other things on their menu that I would love to come back and try. I also used the restroom before leaving and it was super clean. I honestly have no complaints whatsoever and I hope this business continues to thrive!
