A hidden gem! Got something a little untraditional Thai for tonight (Tom Yum Spaghetti) and had some of my friend's Beef Khao Soi. Sooo good! Service was a bit slow, though, but then again the restaurant is small and there was only one server working at the time. I'm not sure if there's more when it does get busier. Prices are reasonable for the location it's at; There's plenty of parking on the plaza as well. Don't let the quiet environment fool you either, this place is popular with those who know about 56 Thai. Can't wait to be back. :-)

Came in and ordered the pad Thai and pad see ew, both with beef, plus a Thai tea and a soda. Total was about $56 with tip, so it's not cheap, but also not completely out of bounds for San Diego right now. I ordered the pad Thai, which was good. Thicker sauce, richer texture, and very satisfying overall. That said, I was actually surprised by how much I liked my husband's pad see ew. I'm a salty-sweet person, and the savory profile on the pad see ew really worked for me. It was straightforward in a good way and ended up being the dish I kept going back to for bites. Both dishes were well cooked, portions were solid, and we had leftovers, which helped justify the price a bit. The space is clean, calm, and comfortable. It's not loud or chaotic, which makes it a nice place to actually sit and eat. The two lady servers were incredibly sweet and helpful, which made the experience noticeably better. Bottom line: solid Thai food, pleasant atmosphere, and kind service. Not quite five stars for me given the price point, but a dependable 4/5 when you want Thai that hits, especially if you lean salty-sweet like I do.

Stopped by here for a lunch with a good friend. I saw this open up a while back and have been meaning to give it a try! We were greeted upon entry and asked to pick any table to sit. I ended up ordering the shrimp pad Thai and my friend got the drunken noodles. We also got an order of crab rangoons to share. The food came out pretty quickly and the portions were great! I really enjoyed my dish and so did my friend. We will definitely be back again soon!

Tried something different today -- Phuket Noodles with Chicken (4/5 $16). It was quite good. Service was also very good. My take-away dinner was ready in about 5 minutes.

I ordered take out from this restaurant and really enjoyed the food. I currently have dietary restrictions and can't eat any soy or dairy. I called beforehand and they answered my questions about the menu and were kind enough to walk through different options with me. I ordered the pad thai, panang curry, and mango sticky rice. Everything was delicious and I would definitely order again!

My friends come here pretty often so we wanted to try this place out. Went here on a Sunday night and it wasn't too busy. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the portions are good for the price. The restaurant is small but didn't seem like you were sitting in a tight space. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Little Thai eatery in a strip mall in Del Mar Highlands next to a few other small restaurants. We both had Drunken Noodle with chicken which was tasty. The chicken was nice & tender. Cold beers and quick friendly service. Seemed like several" to go " orders in the evening.

Unpretentious Thai eatery tucked into a local local mall. Drunken noodles were delicious and perfect heat level. Lots of well seasoned chicken in each dish. Small dining area, brightly lit...seemed very popular for take out and pick up. Fast, friendly service with two choices of Thai beer served with chilled mugs. Nice touch! We'd definitely return for the excellent food.

Located in Del mar heights this little Thai shop looks new. Parking was easy to find. The interior on first impression was small. It's not a place for groups. Service was fast and effecient. I got my favorite Thai dish Kao Soi. The packaging separated the noodles from the soup which i appreciate. The soup was good. They put chicken drum sticks in it which was different. I didn't care for it. They also put pickled veggies in it. I like pickled veggies, but never had it in kao soi. The fried noodles topping were crispy. Overall, i enjoyed this dish.

Newly opened in the area. With the rainy weather just wanted to have soup so tried the tom yum soup. Great. We took a spice level 3 on the scale of 0-5. Whoooo it was spicy. We know the level for the next time now. Pleasant server. We didnt have to wait long after placing the order. Neat and clean.

This was a nice cozy Thai food experience. We walked over here and were seated right away. The customer service was great. Very friendly server and I think the cook? Everything was prepared exactly and the food was so good. We got the spice levels 1 and 2 and neither was spicy. I dont like super spicy but but 1 and 2 are very low, Ill try 3 next time. We had a great meal here, check it out.

    Mango with Sticky rice

The most disgusting Thai food I've ever had. We ordered a small TomYum and it did not have the flavor of the authentic Thai soup. The Drunken noodles we ordered with Shrimp came with meat were soggy, oily and no flavor whatsoever, very bland. The Som Tum Lao style was very fishy, no lime whatsoever and the crabs had very bad smell. The fish cakes were so so. The only edible thing was the desert. Mango with sticky rice !!! I cant believe we spent $108 for this restaurant.

We used to come visit here when we come to San Diego. On this summer day - the restaurant doesn't bave any AC on so it made it a bit uncomfortable to enjoy our desert when it is a bit cooler to sit outside. The other thing that got to me was that the men's restroom was out of service so they did not announce it or anything but the women's bathroom was to be used by both genders but it was crowded so a bit uncomfortable. Service wise we got our deserts and the deserts are still very delicious. We were a larger party and they were able to accommodate and get all of our orders correctly. Noise level was normal and gave us time to sit down and relax our feet. Over all - food was good but things were a bit worn down from a building perspective

The decor and tables definitely gives you an old school Italian neighborhood vibe with Italian markets right next door. It was a warm day but we got there at 5:15pm and the sun was starting to go behind the downtown buildings. Negative: service. It seems if you are a regular, like the two tables near us, they chat it up and talk about how things are. If you aren't a regular, they just quickly come by and say "anything else?" the two times they came by. Im a huge water drinker so the carafe they brought only refilled our cups once. Never got another one until we were done and they came by asking about dessert. They weren't busy by any stretch on a Tuesday evening but apparently the frequent customers either tip really well or they prefer familiar faces. I assume the latter. So, I mean the food itself was great but service was not good.
