Ika Nigiri, Masago Nigiri, Hamachi Roll, Salmon Roll, volcano roll.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Yakima for years. The atmosphere is very homey, with a cheerful, friendly staff who are accommodating and helpful. I appreciate that their hot green tea is served in a nice full mug- perfect for rainy days or when the season turns colder. I have never had a bad meal here, and their sushi is probably some of the best you can find in Yakima. Their rolls come in a good variety of raw and fully cooked options, and the nigiri is very fresh. My favorites are the New York roll and the volcano roll. I always look forward to visiting again!

I like to try new things. My wife got me the clam strips and chips. This is what $10.95 gets you. A bunch of fries and a couple of tablespoons of clams that were cooked so hard they were almost dusty when I tried to chew them. Terrible. Awful.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I truly love this place (if you don't believe me, check my instagram posts). I have lived in Yakima my whole life and recently moved to the Tri Cities area, but I always find myself driving back to Yakima to visit this place. I've tried sushi at soo many different restaurants (both in Yakima, Tri Cities, and Seattle) but this place remains my favorite. I have never been disappointed by a sushi dish there - even their specials are super fun and tasty every-single-time. The staff are incredibly nice and although they can get busy (which is a good thing in my eyes), their service is still quick and efficient. They always greet you so enthusiastically when you arrive or call. The sushi chef is very approachable and friendly as well if you get the chance to sit at the bar near him. They offer carryout and the quality is just as good (and fast). You get large portions of food no matter how and what you order. Plus, you can't beat the prices. Side note: all of their food is delicious - not just the sushi. The Teriyaki Bowls are a local favorite and the Crunchy California Roll is actually deep fried (most places just put a crunch around the roll, so I'm glad they do this differently). The Yummy Roll and the Spicy Teriyaki Chicken and Gyoza combo are my go-to dishes. I also really like ordering Kimchi and Gyoza on the side. I ALMOST don't want to give such a good review because this place is a hidden gem in downtown Yakima, but I highly recommend giving them a try!

Service was ok but not great. I asked if I could pay before my meal arrived because I was in a bit of a hurry and was told that no I had to wait and pay at the end. I ordered spicy pork teriyaki - it cost 50 cents more for spicy which was clearly stated on the menu, but I don't really understand why. There was a set of cards on the table that explained some sushi terminology which was fine, but included was a card that said you should tip 15% if the service wasn't great but 20% if it was alright. I didn't really care for the card that was telling me to tip more than normal. I've always gone by 10% for lunch and 15% for dinner. The food was ok but combined with the not great service and paying extra for some spicy goodness I won't be rushing back here any time soon. The New York Teriyaki in Union Gap is much, much better in my opinion.

    Spicy tuna handroll

I am a local here and I come to this restaurant all the time. Their food and sushi is always fresh and the workers here are all very very nice and caring! I recommend this place to anyone :)

    Sushi Heaven, $18.95

Great place. I was pleasantly surprised by the extremely friendly and courteous husband and wife owners who seated and served me. It was a nice, laid-back atmosphere with 50's and 60's big band type music playing. My only gripe is that I got forgotten for a couple of minutes after I got seated. I had the sushi heaven combo for $18.95, and it was excellent. Overall the quality was about what I expected, nothing spectacular but at the same time still high quality. I'm a very particular sushi eater. The Unagi was still warm so I knew it had been freshly barbecued. The crab roll was real crab, and the tuna hand roll was excellent. I was amazed with the amount of fish they gave me. I'm used to hand rolls that are a pretty normal bite-size, but these were very large, almost too big for one bite. I would definitely come back here again, I had a very good experience. The prices were reasonable and the food was very good.

25 dollars worth of animal food. Hope they enjoy it.

Not even going into detail on this one. Absolutely terrible food. Worst California Roll to start. Followed by raw short ribs. And extremely over cooked terriayki.... Absolutely disappointing and repulsive in every way. Service was great and friendly. 70 dollars... pfffft. Save money and go to Red Lobster or go to the Union Gap resteraunt.

    Crunchy California sushi roll

Finally! a place that has crunchy fried? Sushi yumm. The Staff was really nice & the food didn't take long to arrive. I ordered a California roll and it was delicious very filling. I also enjoyed my Taro bubble tea blended with tapioca I will definitely be coming back.

Me and my husband had the honor of eating at New York Teriyaki and we absolutely loved it.. The food was great but the atmosphere was spectacular. The staff are so friendly I wanted to take them home with me! If you get the chance try this place you won't regret it!

Not impressed at all. The rice and terriaky sauce were very good. But the meat was a small portion. I go elsewhere for teriyaki.

Prices aren't bad (especially in today's climate) and portions lean large. The Not as Good: Food quality, at least for what we had, was marginal. It's probably hard to serve such a wide menu and get everything right. Food wasn't bad. Just not very good. I hope they can up their game on at least some dishes - or, maybe I need to order different next time. Not sure if there will be a next time. The name should probably tell you something. A local suggested we try it, otherwise we probably wouldn't have. Full disclaimer: we are very accustomed to good Asian food (at various price points), particularly Japanese food. Our standards aren't crazy high, but maybe a bit pickier than some. I wish them good luck.

I get the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl and my spouse gets the Pork Teriyaki Bowl. Both are flavorful, generous, and reliably delicious -- and we always have enough left over to enjoy the rest for lunch later the same day. The menu has lots of tempting options, and many guests order their sushi. But we can never resist our usual favorites. A dependable, satisfying place for a tasty teriyaki lunch.

Half expecting a little Teriyaki restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised it was much more upscale than I had imagined and has wonderfully innovative menu options. I had the Blackened Salmon and loved it because I loved their use of apples and mangos in such a tasty dish. I also tried the Banana Crème Brûlée which was a rotating dessert and it was Amazing. My compliments to the chef Diana who was lovely to chat with as I sat at the kitchen bar.

We got the stone bowl fried rice and blackened salmon with apple slaw.... I wasn't a fan of the fried rice- it was way too salty and kind of gooey/wet? And was an additional $6 for a couple little chunks of chicken in it (kind of ridiculous). So when I read "blackened salmon" I was thinking blackened seasoning or something?-Nope, it was literally just charred black. Had no flavor other than "burnt", but at least it was tender- a glaze or a marinade would have been nice. Had super high expectations after those apps and the salmon seriously fell short.... The apple slaw that came with it was to die for though! flavorful and the perfect combination with the sweetness from the apple, tang from the mango, a bit of spice from the jalapeño, and a touch of acidity- super refreshing on a 90+ degree day! Plan to try some other dishes next time
